Patti and Mimi (68,207) by Mirage_Nunez from America I agree with Edward, I've never felt that having a louder voice makes you a better vocalist. For me it's all about the way you use your voice and the effectiveness or how you emote lyrics. Mariah is the master of that to me. Just because someone can drown you out while singing doesn't mean they sound better either. Mariah has so many beautiful delicate and powerful features to her voice and at her best she knows exactly how properly place, highlight and phrase a song to sheer perfection like no other. Then there's Mariah's artistry that's just unmatched. Now we love godmother Patti don't get it twisted; she is a beast live on stage, but I'm just saying if we're going to go there and compare let's not do Mariah. (Thursday 10 November 2016; 17:00)

Mariah's life (68,204) by Mirage_Nunez from America Mariah's world has always been a chaotic circus since childhood. She has always alluded to it in her music. "I've always longed for individedness and sort stability", "Life was a windin road and I've learn many things little ones shouldn't know" etc. Also her life has never quite been "conventional". She would always be up all night with her mom and her musician friends, much like Stella's children are doing now. Even her marriages have been unconventional in a lot of ways. That's just the way Mariah is and the way she was built to function in chaos. This does not make her a bad person or a terrible mother (as some have implied). I'm sure she has the best private teachers/tutors for Roc and Roe (as she had mentioned in an recent interview) and they seem to be very smart, well behaved, and balanced. Okay the pink thing was a real fashion faux-pas, but the rest is pretty okay and classy, considering 2016's general fashion landscape. Almost ol'school, 70's retro outfits. Did you hear her voice? I never was a big fan of Without You (too shmalty for me), but I've gained a whole new respect for that song in 2016 thanks to all her great, very well executed performances. Very technical and pro. Her gusto and delivery gets me so emotional, it's super obvious that she truly loves singing and performing. She ain't just another "screaming gospel singer"; she's the Godmother of Soul for a reason. Her power and resonance, are nearly unmatched across contemporary music. Yes, her style isn't for everyone, but she's obviously more than just "considered a great singer". To me it's almost disrespectful to just consider her "a great singer". This is up there with the pantless lingerie tragedy that she wore to that event she tried to pass off as her "DJ-ing debut". I mean this is just tacky and cheap as hell, and that color ain't helping either. Is that like a cross between salmon and baby pink? It's the least flattering as well. You're Mariah Carey, not some blow-up sex doll. Now the white pleated dress (reminiscent of the TEOM sleeve photo with that sheer cloth draped over her naked body) and that other pink leotard with the mini-dress attachment on is much more like it. Patti Labelle (68,182) Ty (68,187) by Edward from USA Maybe I came kind of harsh on Ms. Patti. The woman can definitely sing. She also said in an interview that she can't help how loud her voice is. I agree that she has many beautiful songs and a great command of her instrument. What I tried to say was that they're both great in their own ways. They're very different in their deliveries which doesn't make one better than the other. When Patti sings any other voices around her would be drowned by it, and Mariah had a taste of that, but that doesn't mean that those voices are not as good as hers or that Patti is intentionally trying to out-sing them. The fact that she's kept her voice in top notch is impressive considering her age. I saw her once at the Apollo. When she takes off her shoes and start rolling on the floor, people go crazy as if they were feeling the spirit, lol. I felt it. (Thursday 10 November 2016; 4:14)

Mariah's forte is singing unique runs with impeccable agility and ease in every register she has and texture manipulation. Patti is the classic gargantuan voice soul belter. Dude's name is Robert Behar. He proudly shared a shot of that awful "white shirt and lingerie" ensemble from few days ago. His only other client seems to be Janet Jackson, that too only for tour outfits. Seriously MC? Mariah has a talent for picking out the least talented people for her entourage or as her employees.
