Why so melodramatic? (66,317) by Luke from United Kingdom I understand where people are coming from when they say they're confused about Mariah's new actions involving social media/online persona but you need to lighten up a little. In my opinion it seems to me she's not taking it very seriously and she's having a little fun. I could be wrong and she could be on the path of a midlife crisis but I don't think that's what's happening. When she's not on camera or having pictures taking of her for social media (except for paparazzi) she lets herself go and wears clothes that are comfortable, some of which are completely the opposite of flattering because she doesn't care. Just like most of us would do if we were on holiday. Now it's different when she's doing things for Instagram/social media, she's over top because believe it or not she needs the attention to succeed in this day and age. She may have said she wouldn't do reality TV but that was a different time. This is a time where people want to know everything about celebrities and they want it fast. People feed off revealing shots and controversial images/videos. Look at Katie Hopkins, everyone hated her when she first came out but now she has a massive following. She knew how to be controversial and how to stir it up. Mariah is playing a game in a world which is highly visual compared to 5-10 years ago and I think she's playing it well. She isn't going to get another hit record playing it safe like Celine Dion. It may be shocking to her fans because we know what she's been like in the past but for people who don't follow her yet this might reel them in and they'll find her entertaining. Times have changed, she's changing with it and I'm hopping along for the ride because lifes too short to take this stuff seriously. (Thursday 15 September 2016; 14:01)

I have never heard the term "the new" for any other artist as much as I've heard people say "the new Mariah" and yet the Grammies paid her dust. It's disgusting really. They can't defend themselves against him or his allegations and he needs to leave them out of it. I was bummed when they shelved the album because the remixes that I heard were awesome. I'm probably the only fan who will never get tired of the JD/Mariah combo. And of course I'm not aware what's really going on in her life, but if you "follow" Mariah and her music over 21 years you can tell there's a kind of sadness in her eyes. I wish she would have done more of it throughout the song but I still like it. I know some people are tired of Jermaine but I love how good he is at making a ballad a hot uptempo. Mariah Carey (66,308) by Terna from Nigeria I've been pondering sharing this with you guys. But I said what the heck you're family, and the common denominator is our unrelenting love for Mariah. Hope I don't come across as weird. In 2009 I had a strange vision sometime in October about her. I would say it was a vision because if you've ever had one of those happen to you, you're not asleep, totally aware of your surroundings and it's like suddenly the room dims up and it's like a film projector styled plays while you watch. In the vision there was a boy and girl with Mariah, they were at an award show on stage and on closer observation it was the Grammies. And right there on the presentation podium were Grammies with Mariah's name on them. It seemed weird because in real life she lost all those Grammies but in the vision it was a controversy that had been exposed that the recording academy on purpose gave all her Grammy wins away and that she had won every single time. It was all over the news, so this was the apology officially to Mariah Carey presenting her with all the trophies, over 20 Grammies. But Mariah simply signaled to the girl who in turn picked up the tray of Grammies and seemingly emptied them into a shredding machine and they were shredded like paper. Then Mariah with a very booming voice to the audience who were in total shock and speechless then slammed down a golden statue speaking just a few words "Presenting The Mariah Carey award". She then turned around and gracefully walked away hand in hand with the boy and girl in tow. And the I looked at the statue. It was a golden statue of The Emancipation Of Mimi album cover. Mariah had just basically changed the Grammies to the Mariah Careys. I was puzzled. Still am. (Thursday 15 September 2016; 5:33)

Marissa (66,303) by Giovanni from USA I completely agree but why keep ranting? It seems like you're really frustrated and bothered by Mariah's decisions and actions. I'm not. Although I love Mariah as a singer and as an artist, she doesn't affect my life in any way by how she chooses to live hers. As much as she's disappointed me with her last single and over the top sexiness, I've learned that no matter how much ranting we do or advice we give her she's going to do as she pleases. Morgan's Facebook (66,298) by Martyn from England, UK I sometimes check Morgan's Facebook as it's public, and he's posted a status about the drama, to which many of his friends have left supportive comments - one even referencing Mariah from when they were younger. It's so difficult to know what to believe, I definitely think there's two sides to every story. What I do know is that him going to the media (again) was a strange and unfair move, and even if Mariah has wronged him in any way, he could've dealt with it differently. We've always loved Mariah for her voice, music, and the story behind the music. We connected to these many songs she sung because they felt real to us, not just because they were nice songs put together giving people hope. "Make It Happen", "Anytime You Need a Friend", "Hero", "Looking In", "Buttefly", "Close My Eyes", "Outside" and the list goes on. All written and sung beautifully but also her life put into beautiful poetry. Mariah felt real, and we could feel the pain of the lady behind the music while she sung to us mere mortals her life story. And we felt that through her we also had a voice, and her songs helped us through tough stuff. Now, as Marissa very well stated, we're in a state of confusion, not because we hate her, but because we don't know this person she's become anymore. I all for woman empowerment, I'll for women expressing their sexiness, Mariah has done that gracefully so many times before. Mariah would get a concert dubbed even when her vocals were great, but now she allows a blurry and weird picture of her to be posted on her Instagram, and that I don't understand. And how can Patricia involve Alison in devil worship rituals? Wasn't Alison with her dad almost all the time since the divorce? Morgan's stories are getting crazier and crazier by the day. The current state of Mariah (66,293) by Ardis Logic from Earth I remember being a young tween, hearing Mariah sing "Vision of Love" as I rode home on the school bus in 1990, and being in awe. A few years later she changed pop music forever, with her hit "Fantasy". It was revolutionary, and since then, so many artist have tried to capture the magic in that song. Then came the greatness of "Honey". Fans were thrilled by the sexyness, and boldness of that song and video. MC has always had those moments where she "wows" us. She has always been sexy, and she has always worn quite revealing ensembles. The only difference is, now she is older. Would we really be so shocked and bothered by her social media posts, if she was still in her 20's? She looks beautiful in her latest insta pics. Are we being ageist against her? I don't know. All I know is, that I always want her to be healthy and happy. She is such a beautiful person inside and out. Whatever she is going through right now, she just needs to be loved and understood. I am not so sure is really getting that. From the outside it looks like she has it all. Billionaire fiance, a multi million dollar rock on her finger, and a luxury life style, that most people could only dream about, but when I look into her eyes I see sadness. She looks lost, and that truly has me worried about her and her precious babies. Life as a mega celebrity can be very hard, in ways that many of us will never understand. I'm rambling.
