Infamous (66,848) by Stacey from USA I like it. It was a nice surprise. After Infinity, anything done would have been a step in the right direction, lol. My only complaint is the extended use of Jussie's auto tune. It was too much. Honestly, had he just sang his part, the song would have been perfect. I like MC's vocals on this song. Her mid-range sounds so rich. I like how both singers go back and forth instead of one singer sings one verse and vice versa. Rant (66,846) by George Golden from UK Same old crap. Where is the singing sensation that was Mariah Carey? Everything has to got to be a duet where she hides herself. This stupid rnb sound that is so dated and reductive is what she thinks is great music? She should just retire gracefully instead of ruining her legendary career with mediocrity. I don't care if it was just for Empire, it should have been a killer track. She shouldn't have been on Empire to begin with. Why can't she do classy things?She is not a good actress but she has to force it. The music was what made her. Where is the music? She is the most annoying female singer ever. Calm down (66,844) by Malcolm from Asia After all this is for Empire and not the lead single for her next album. Like what others said, it's just perfect for the show. It's not outstanding but it serves the purpose, it's just right there in the middle. Save that negativity on her upcoming official singles. Re: New song honest review (66,825) (66,841) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter You have to understand this song is for a cheesy TV show and set for a cheesy story line of helping Jamaal get his confidence back and reuniting Cookie and Lucious back together. So if you think in context of that, it fits. If you take it out of the context and think this is where her new music is headed then it's a different story for this song, I didn't have high expectations, you should listen to the other songs on Empire, take their signature song "You're so Beautiful" or their other song "Keep your money", you'll see how cheesy it gets. Basically the song was probably crafted intentionally to be cheesy because it's for a cheesy scenario in a cheesy TV show. That being said, I like the melody, the piano, I like that she used her natural voice so she can replicate it on stage but I don't think it's a strong song overall. When they described it as an uplifting song, I was thinking the chorus would have be stronger and give me goosebumps haha. I also absolutely hate the sudden T-Pain moment. I don't know why that was necessary and why Mariah thought it was a good idea. They could have instead just gotten Bryshere/Hakeem to rap, but all in all that part should have just been scrapped off. The sound of the song is also nothing fresh or exciting, but I can over look that because this I'm taking this song in context with the show and I can understand how this will work as a soundtrack for a show/movie. Infamous opinion (66,839) by Marissa from USA The song served its purpose. It aligned with the dramatic theme of Empire. Do I like it? Not really. I appreciate the fact that Mariah didn't use autotune for her voice, but at the same time her mid-range is definitely not her greatest asset in my opinion. If only something could have been done in either a higher or lower register. Overall on a scale of 1 to 10 I'd rate it a 6. Not worthy of the rage that Infinity or Triumphant got, but not worthy of a "yasssss queen" either. (Thursday 29 September 2016; 19:24)

Infinity seems like a Manet for the ears compared to this. Clicks and auto-tune? She's lost it. In-fuh-muzz? Remember when Mariah Carey was Fuh-muzz? No? Neither does she. It's a nice slow jam, Mariah isn't over the top, the lyrics (to a point) are sensual, it fits the episode (from what I've seen from trailers), the whistle notes are sublime in the background like how she used to do them, so they're not in the foreground taking over. Infamous (66,834) by Terna from Nigeria I like it. It's a laid back R&B jam, current sounding and a step in the right direction of how music should sound. Nice thoughtful lyrics too. I'm hoping she sings it on a morning show (with a piano and without the unnecessary rap) and let's loose and wails at the end. The main complaint I've noticed is that it doesn't sound like a Mariah song, it isn't. Sonically it's in the Empire wheelhouse despite being produced by JD and Cox. I didn't expect great outcomes from Jussie and the robotic sound of him is annoying. Well, it is all about Jamal after all and Kitty was there to help, right? Miley Cyrus your seat awaits you (66,830) by Mirage_Nunez from America I don't get how some lambs could say Miley wasn't throwing shade or being negative when she randomly brought up Mariah in her interview just to throw salt on her name. Then she proceeded to compare Mariah to herself in a "lesser than way". The audacity of it all. You guys say this a reflection of the way this generation/the general feels about her, but everytime one of these lesser girls come for Mariah they get dragged by fans and the general public alike. So I'm just saying Mariah must still have some respect. Unless you're going to acknowledge Mariah's musical genius and undeniable impact on many of today's top singers, then why even mention her out the blue. She could've kept that. Infamous (66,829) by Gilles from Malta I like it after 2 listens there is a kind of simplicity in the song and her voice that I am really appreciating. The auto tune à la The Dream (like the song: falsetto and the album Memoirs Of The Imperfect Angel) the song is perfect for Empire. I though it would have been a song à la It's Like That. I understand people who were expecting for more because we always want the best and the most exceptional from MC but for once I am satisfied to not have all MC's assets in one song. Infamous (66,827) by Mirage_Nunez from America Is it Vanishing 2016 (like Terrence made it seem)? No. But I actually enjoyed the song for what it is; a simple R&B slow jam. I thought they both sound nice on the track vocally. It's definitely not terrible by any means imo. I find that word to be used rather loosely these days. (Thursday 29 September 2016; 16:54)

I hope I never have to hear that song ever again. I'll take "Infinity" over that any day. It just sounds so soul-less and fake. Just awful. It has a haunting, rhythmic pulse to it. #1 not a chance and I agree with you all who said it's great she's singing a song in her current voice without the studio tricks thus making it necessary for her to use a backing track live. Infamous (66,822) by Mara from United States Ok so I actually like it. I wasn't really expecting anything big with this song and after listening on repeat I do feel it's a grower. I think it fits with the show after seeing the upcoming scenes with the song used. I can very much do without all the snaps in the song and the auto tune. I like the darker feel, and the way Mariah places those whistles is something I have missed. I also liked the fast piano singing moments, almost classical operatic feel that I would love her to dip into more. One thing I do wonder though, why do we have TAOLG type vocals on this when she sounded so amazing live recently? She does not sound bad on this song, But she sounds tired and her voice sounds dry. She sounded so clear on the Vegas "My All" vocals. Maybe she recorded this when she was on vacation and having all those "splashes" ala "I Will Survive" karaoke. (Thursday 29 September 2016; 16:14)

I feel like musically it is never quite given the moment to soar that it seems to natuarally call for. It stays in one place, also found the tuning on Jesse's vocals destracting.
