Yes, I feel that too, that she doesn't have any intimate (sexual or non sexual) time with James because honestly even on the private dates, she is surround by everyone from her manager, her manager's father, sisters and daughter. Then why would you take you entire entourage to a vacation? Where a vacation is meant for immediate family to spend some time together which sometimes gets difficult to manage in our day to day lives. Shouldn't you instead let it be James getting to know her kids, he getting to know his kids, Mariah and James possibly having a small candle lit dinner or walking by the beach alone? Notice how James's kids are never part of this drama. The first few years together in a couples life is the most romantic and it's when you want to be the most intimate, after that it gets sown what of a routine pattern. So it's surprises me that the man she wishes to marry and is supposedly so head over heels in love with is treated like her first cousin (like Licia said) and the staged moments when he is seen grabbing and groping her, it looks like it's the first time her touched her.

We are on the same page RibbonB, but I guess I've always tried to make myself believe that Mariah wouldn't pull such stunts. I was always proud of how she achieved all the success without any stunt. Infact she achieved it against all odds. But that has changed in the last year or so I guess. When asked about her reality show, she said something along the lines of "it's not a reality show, I don't even know what reality is". I think that statement could not be any more true because she has clearly lost all her touch with reality.

Lol you killed me with the "treats him like her first cousin" line. I wish I was joking, but you have to see the interview for yourself. James's boat is huge and it could probably fit an entire country's population in it, yet Mariah lives on a different yacht. The boats are always going to the same location and are harbored in the same port. I get the point of a "his and hers" sink in the bathroom, but yachts? Plus what they want us to believe is they are engaged and want to get married as soon as possible so then why would you need to have a separate yacht from the man you wish to spend your life with? Didn't Mariah complain about Nick always being away? Well James is also away on business but the short amount of time they are together, she either brings her entourage with her to their dates or she lives in a different yacht? I get rich people are not like us ordinary people but this is in no way normal. What is she exposing her children to? Is this all for the reality show?

Mimi L., it doesn't surprise me the fact that Mariah might have an extra yacht for her and her posse. She has a manager that seems to only manage her, and Mariah seems to like that type of attention, since you wouldn't see Cindi Berger or Benny Medina playing into something like that, she's paying for her exclusiveness. Also remember that Stella Bulochnikov comes with her own tribe too. With Mariah having all these people around, I don't know when she's truly able to have some intimate time with her boyfriend. And when I say intimate, I don't mean sex, that you can't have anytime and about behind any closed door, I'm talking about quality time when the kids are sleep and there's only them.

Mimi L., I thought we have been on this same page. Lol. Did the yachts finally convince you? Nothing about this association is normal. Mariah acts like Thirsty and Meteorite were autobiographical tunes IMO. Lol. One of her former pet accessories Brown Nose Scott tweeted recently that "no one should hear the conversation they just had". Who knows the kind of drama and plots M. has cooked up or jokes about. She also has the weirdest "friends" who later try to sell her out. I can't imagine the ones who will explode from this current error/era alone.

This relationship is a sham. If you need your own luxury yacht for you and your children, and his boat (which is huge by the way) is not enough for you, then you are obviously not in love with this man. You may be in love with his life style and status, but there is no real chemistry there. Why in the world would you marry and expose your children to a man that you do not truly love. It's unhealthy, and quite telling.

I am at work so I didn't get to watch the interview. So you mean to tell me her and the kids are on a separate yacht than her soon to be husband? You have got to be exaggerating. She already treats that man like he's her first cousin. Now he can't even ride on the same yacht with her? Lol.

Company (65,120)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

While initially I was rooting for Mariah that she bounced back from Nick and got herself someone who is more like her, some who likes privacy and is more age appropriate, I am beginning to think this is probably the weirdest alliance. First of all we have all talked about how it feels like this whole relationship is about business and image. Watching the E interview, where they talk about having "his and her yachts", I was like why? I mean I get it that it's glamorous and all but why do you need 2 different yachts? So for those who didn't watch it, James has his Arctic P, which is the 7th largest in the world apparently (so it must be pretty darn big), if I'm not mistaken, that's his family yacht. I assumed Mariah was on the same yacht too, but apparently Mariah hired another, much smaller yacht, where she stays with her kids and her entourage maybe. No, this isn't some "independent woman" so she doesn't need Packer's yacht situation. This is a person you are supposedly marrying by this year, why on earth will you be staying in 2 different yachts when you are going to the same locations? (Basically the yachts follow each other.) That's messed up. Then she apparently left Nick because of his loud mouth and she has time and again expressed her displeasure explicitly about how she does not like that Nick is so public about all their personal stuff. Yet now Mariah is basically living on leaking stories to TMZ no less. All the private awkward kissing photos, the drunk dancing where there is no way anyone outside her team could have filmed it and so much more. If Mariah wanted her privacy, she could have had it. Brad and Angelina are 2 of the biggest celebs in the world, yet no one knows what goes on inside their house. We only get to see them when they are out in public. So people can save the "oh she's famous, paparazzi somehow always manages to get her private photos" can save that argument. I won't even start with the Bulochnikov drama, I've already said a lot about that, and it deserves a post of its own. There is something weird going on in Mariah's camp, and Mariah is somehow fine with it.

Thank you. Exactly. Like when did "diva extraordinaire" or "queen of shade" ever spell "approachable"? I know this labeling thing is quite high school-ish, but whatever walk of life you're from or age you are, these are labels that will never ever be responded to positively. I guess we could say shame on the media for perpetuating these labels, but at 26 years in the game, let's be honest - the bigger shame is on Mariah for acting the way she did, especially knowing how the media would take it. Now we can all make excuses for her about how she's free to live her life, how she's somehow "earned" the right to act that way (I know I did before - a lot), but it has come to a point where she's finally at a better place in her life, 2013-14 has long passed. If she still can't succeed now, then it not only speaks of how real ageism is or how brutal this game has become, but also how much she has lost touch with what really matters - her connection to her fans. I know she still appreciates us deeply, and her ways of expressing it has changed (and lessened) over the years, but I hope, I really do hope she also gets to see how much of a struggle it is for us fans to defend her constantly. And no, don't even bother with the "nobody asked you to stand up for her" argument - we're fans, dammit. And we still hurt when we see her hurt, even if the pain happens to be self-inflicted. And no matter how much we criticize her or even make public declarations of how we've "given up" on her, the truth is, we know deep inside that we'll still be the last people out there fighting tooth and nail for her, because that's what a true fan does. Deny as we may, there's a bit of an Andrew in all of us - maybe not as brutally frank - but he's in there. Seemingly overflowing with haterade, but silently die hard.

I'm not really a fan of this performance. Although Mariah sounded amazing, I don't think Hero was a good song for Pavarotti. Or perhaps they could have arranged his part better. Especially when they start singing together, it just sounds like a whole bunch of noise. In any event I'm very glad they sang together. Pavarotti had long wanted to sing with her when the rest of the opera world did not even want to acknowledge her for her technique.

Why would anyone think she is hiding something when she has answered the same thing before and made her feelings very clear? We know how she feels about AI, we know how she feels about JLo. There is no need to re-flavor the shade again and again. Just be diplomatic. Mariah has gone from being the girl with the golden voice to being known as the "diva extraordinaire" and "queen of shade". Both makes it hard for people outside her fan base to relate to her and then when she releases something and it tanks, fans will again blame everyone but her. The label sabotaged her, JD sabotaged her, Tommy Motolla somehow still sabotaged her in 2014. The list goes on. Mariah isn't always blameless.

This is so ironic that someone would post about Mariah and Pavarotti because I had just recently watched their performance of "Hero". I had never seen it before. Mariah looked stunning and in my opinion out shined Luciano. Even though Luciano was louder and powerful Mariah held her own. However in the "We are the world" performance I was disappointed because she was on mute the whole entire performance. I would have been killing those singers with my high notes and whistle notes. Especially Laura Pausini. I can't stand her [censored]. Mariah needed to step up.

Yes, and recognizing Mariah is human, accepting that right now, is not making excuses or wearing rose colored glasses. That tends to get really twisted. You know? Like if you have compassion for where somebody is at, it means you are being delusional. That to me is not accurate. We all have issues that come up. Could she make changes, yes, sure, absolutely, but I'm going to focus on my own life.

Thoughts (65,110)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

Did you guys watch the first part of Mariah's interview with ET on her yacht? The interviewer asks her about The Weeknd and says that she would like to see a collaboration between the two happen, and Mariah said "I would like to see that too, I love his work." So maybe she did work with him because she did say that she approached some people she hasn't worked with and that those are people that her fans have been wanting her to work with. I hope it's true, a nice sexy jam. Of course this can be the whole MC-Bey situation all over again. Ok next thought, my hope from Empire is that Mariah loosens up and isn't as stiff infront of the camera as she was during "A Christmas Melody". You could tell she was so aware of the camera, at certain parts I almost expected her to break the fourth wall. Lee usually gets good shots out of Mariah so that's that. In the middle I was done with the idea of her being on Empire, but now that she is doing it, I hope it's a small story arc and she has a substantial role like say Jennifer Hudson's or something and not like Estelle's, who was just a decorative guest star. Although I loved the "Conqueror" duet. As much as I think Jussie is cute, I think it would have been more fun if Lucious was the one collaborating with Kitty. He's my favorite.

I great that you see that Mariah's selling her personality, because honestly, I don't know what it is she's selling anymore. Which is funny because she has sold a lot probably the widest variety of things over the past 5 years - perfume, nail polish, video game, even flavored water (how is that going by the way, does anybody know?) and yet I still feel like the only thing that she sold over that period that sticks out and is even worthy of discussion was MIAMTEC and we all know how that turned out. So if she indeed is selling her personality, then she's in trouble because even that doesn't seem so appealing now.

Mariah and Pavarotti (65,104)

I just watched Hero with Pavarotti and I love her style and look so much there. Can you imagine she would do a duet with Josh Groban? Especially at Christmas time, I'm sure it would be magical if it's a well-produced ballad. And I still wish Mariah would make a duet with John Legend, I mean on her new cd not just live.
