It's called the difference in views from the previous week accumalated over time for each day in each subsequent week. The difference is accumulated by adding the views gained for each day of a week. By the end of each week you will have a new total. All you would need to do is subtract the total views from the previous week with the total views from the new week. That's how we know. It's very simple math. I am sure you will understand. It's already gained 30,000 views in less than 12 hours. Have a great day.

Yay looks like there are more promotional appearances coming up. Good Morning America, Kelly and Michael, and Extra. More the better.

Re: Anytime you need a friend (57,748) (57,756) by Andrew from UK
Cheers. They're better than the originals. If I want to play the song to someone I go to the lives over the tracks. Likewise, there are many parts of other live vocals I think are better than they are on the tracks (change in melody or simply better vocal). Sadly, Tevin, in response to your point, it is totally live so "thumbs up", but I don't particularly think TGIFY in Vegas is anything special. If I explained why I'm sure the attack dogs would circle. I shall simply say: I wouldn't write home about it, myself, but I'm glad you like it.

TAOLG (57,755) by B from USA
Today is the art of letting go's anniversary. After listening to it, for the first time in months, this morning I actually have a new apprection for it. Mariah doesn't need to change her sound. She needs to update her signature sound by working with new producers and songwriters. She needs a fresh perspective that working with JD isn't going to provide.

Is there a site where you can check these numbers? How can you know it's getting 500,000 views per week? Interesting.

Re: But for what though? (57,744) (57,753) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
If there's anything we have learned from the music industry post-2005, it is that sales are not what drives careers these days - hype does. We are at an era where an album could barely even reach gold status yet still be considered a success if the artist is constantly in the news even for non-music related reasons. Blockbuster successes such as Adele's are extremely rare exceptions. With the image overhaul, I wasn't gunning for commercial success, as Mariah already has that and more with all her various deals and gigs. I was referring to her relationship with the public. Clearly the girl has lost a lot of fans through the years. While she does need younger fans, the likelihood of her getting them is quite slim. She has better chances of reconnecting with her older fans. So yeah, you're right, "for what though", but at this point in her career, she has earned the luxury of doing anything she desires, including either changing things up or curling up in her comfort zone. Clearly, she prefers the latter. And that's more than okay if it makes her happy. But I guess it would just be interesting to know what would happen if she shook things up.

Touch My Body - 100M Vevo Certified (57,752) by Pau from Mexico
Don't forget to watch every now and the TMB music video. At the moment, it has 94,474,627 views and it would be MC's 3rd VEVO Certified award. The views this video is getting is amazing, it gets around 500,000 per week. We really need to watch more often MC's videos and share them. Eminem has 5 billion views and 22 VEVO Certifications while MC hit 1 billion views a year ago and only has 2 VEVO Certifications. She is not even in the top 20 of most viewed artists.

Re: Social media (57,723) (57,751) by Pau from Mexico
I also agree on this topic. MC is not taking advantage of her social media, when is the best way to keep yourself relevant and to maintain contact with your fans. As an international superstar, this should be important. Also, it is the best marketing you can get, considering it's for free, it's always available and it can get viral. MC's new strategy is very good with the GOW ads, AIWFCIY book, Hallmark movie, Christmas concerts, MAC lipstick, and participating in The Lego Movie. With the GOW ads, book and movies she will get a new generation to get to know her. I can see how she is trying to reach a new audience, but in my opinion these efforts should be supported with what she's known for: her music. As she says: first and foremost she is a singer and songwriter. She's definitely working in her consolidation in the top of mind awareness as the queen of Christmas. Which I believe it's fantastic and was thought through very well. I was thinking and I'd like to propose an idea: We could try to write to Stella. She is very active on Instagram, so we could just write to her, very politely, our suggestions/ideas about MCs social media. I've seen how she and Kris Buckle erase hate comments in the pictures they upload with MC, so she does read the comments and maybe she could take into consideration what we think.

Love takes time / comeback (57,750) by Giovanni from USA
This song is just too great to put into words. Mariah was really ahead and had already established herself as a future legend with her debut. The album went platinum, she scored four number ones and snatched Grammys. How amazing would it be if that were to happened again. I realize that's highly unlikely, but a fan can only dream. We're in the future, where albums aren't selling like before. Awards shows are a joke today nominating lesser individuals with mediocre talent. I have never understood why Mariah has always gotten overlooked and ignored at the Grammys? But yet a garbage song like "Drunk and love" is nominated and wins. I'm sorry but "Beautiful" not only deserved to be a number one song. It deserved a nomination. Mariah is a lot more talented than Beyonce. This is a fact. I have to agree with B and Mimi L. on Mariah's song writing skills. She's still definitely got it. And I believe she can make another amazing album. Remember that it only takes one song to get an artist back on top. But even if that doesn't happen at least we can say she gave us another great body of work. After all Mariah has broken records, has 18 number ones, has had a great amount of success most artists dream of having. She's a living legend so you can't count her out.

Wow, this sounds like the ultimate cheese fest in the Christmas kind of the way. Kristen is going to follow her heart and stay in Ohio with the music teacher because she ain't no boss lady. I hope Melissa hooks up with the baby daddy to get back at Kristen, we need some ratchet drama. But hey it's Hallmark, what can you do? Lol I'm excited for Mariah's directorial debut though.

Re: Oh the insanity (57,743) (57,746) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I actually like "Infinity" too, especially the much hated Fritos verse. That verse and the bridge is my favourite. However the point I was trying to make to Andrew was that the Mariah of the 90s is still here. She can still write songs like the ones she did pre Butterfly. And she did so too for MIAM. She has a good balance between ballad Mariah and hood Mariah. I love both.

A Christnas Melody (57,745) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
The descriptionf Mariah's role has me excited. I love that she took a smaller role and a negative one. Should be fun. But I am confused about one thing, didn't we hear before that Mariah will help the little girl write the song? Did the script change? Here is the link.

But for what though? (57,744) by Marissa from USA
Some lambs may want MC to have an image overhaul, but I don't think we can assess whether or not she actually needs it until she puts out music and we can see how that translates into sales. Back in the MIAM days I was 130% in favor of an image overhaul because the music wasn't selling well and it seemed like the media was ragging on her left and right. Now that she has made great strides in the right direction with more positive regard in the media, better fashion choices and new, exciting projects, I don't know where this feeling of an image overhaul being needed is coming from. Compared to last year, I definitely don't think her image is a state of emergency, although improvements are always welcomed.

Re: Oh the insanity (57,742) (57,743) by B from USA
Mimi, I agree that Mariah is still a talented songwriter. However, I think the Infinity verses are utter brilliance. I'm not ashamed to admit that I love both sides of Mariah, the lyricist. I love Mariah when she digs deep and tugs at the heart strings and when she's writing a lyric just for laughs. Some commenters are boring and corny like Fritos.

Re: Oh the insanity (57,739) (57,742) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I think Mariah's songwriting is the same it used to be. She is still great at it. Let's not judge her writing talents based on "Infinity". In MIAM she has songs that shows her writing talent is still intact. Songs like "Cry" and TAOLG and "Camouflage" are examples that she is the same songwriter everyone fell in love with years back. Plus I love how she can write songs so deep that it reaches your heart yet at the same time can write carefree fun songs like "Thirsty", YDKWTD and "Money". Most writiers are in an "either/or" situation where they can only write about sob stories or fun ones. But Mariah is the best of both worlds.

Re: What Mariah needs (57,737) (57,741) by Leito from USA
Exactly, she needs to re-invent her image and her music. She did it during the Butterfly era and again (to me) the TEOM era. Too bad there is a "no Mariah-clause" on Benny Medina's contract with JLo. Mariah can sure use him again.

Re: Anytime you need a friend (57,716) (57,740) by Andrew from UK
Giovanni, I think this is genuinely one of those times that a live performance has beaten the original track (Here is... Mariah Carey, Proctor's Theatre). A bit like Hero (Fantasy Live, MSG), When You Believe (Oprah), etc. I would pay good money if there was a live version of All I've Ever Wanted.

Re: Oh the insanity (57,687) (57,739) by Andrew from UK
Randy, I think Adele's new single probably isn't her best but people are excited that she's back. It's current/relevant and she has respect. Mariah's songwriting isn't that anymore. But then many will say "she's writing music she wants to write". I'd prefer her to write music people want to hear. And, yes, in a range she can actually sing that doesn't sniff of being engineered. Not sure if "saving her voice for the studio" isn't the daftest thing I've read in a while. But your "man in the moon" comment is the funniest.

What Mariah needs (57,737) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Other than fans like us telling her what to do, is a serious drastic re-branding. I know, I know, her image is slowly under repair but really, she could use a total image overhaul that doesn't compromise her essence and individuality in any way. Case in point: Janet Jackson. With her current wardrobe on tour and also in public appearances, one could say she's being the "anti-Janet", as she has always been associated with risque outfits and raunchy stunts since her self-titled album came out. Now she's suddenly all covered up, and even her new music is nowhere (like light years away) as pornorgraphic as it used to be. Janet's Unbreakable isn't exactly selling truckloads, but by reining in the sex, more critics directed their attention to the music instead. As much as most of us love Mariah's devil-may-care philosophy with her penchant for form-fitting ensembles, we all know she doesn't need any of that to be sexy or beautiful. I like fun Mariah, but I woudn't mind if she suddenly went all serious (most common erroneous translation: boring) on us and toned down the opulence for relatability. Mariah may not need to beg for critical acclaim, but how she presents herself may help gain back her older fans she lost along the way.

Re: Lip syncing issue (57,709) (57,736) by darrian liu from taiwan
Nodules help her hitting her whistles because nodules create that tiny hole you have to make to hit those notes. Without nodules, you need to train the muscle coordination to whistle correctly. Mariah had half the work done for her whistle, which is to basically make that tiny hole form with her vocal cords. She just needs to control them which she is a master at. Her belts should be 99% of the time perfect if she doesn't have nodules because she has an amazing technique but because of nodules, she had a little bit more off moments if she doesn't warm up properly or is in a bad day. One of her technical weakness is the incorrect position of larynx in her low notes but it happens only occasionally. She gets airy and lowes her larynx below Bb2 which is pretty damn low for even a guy. But she's vert consistent down to D3, having moments below it. Actually, she'll amazing if she takes enough vocal rest and continues to work on her technique.
