Re: Question time (59,462) (59,478) by May from Denmark
I want anything that it doesn't have rappers this time. Too hard to ask? Haha. An uptempo beat would be nice. If she did a ballad, I would like the lyrics to speak of something else other than love. The only reason why I didn't give "Why you mad" more chances is because French Montana. He's unbearable.

Thanks for the inputs. I too want a upbeat, fun song with a big chorus and something catchy that gets people hooked. I don't mean a "Migrate 2.0" but something that is refreshing and something people can just have a good time with. Since fall is almost over and spring is approaching I'd like the uptempo song that people can blast on the radio. And like RJJ12 pointed out, it should sound well cooked and have a nice structure. I love "#Beautiful" but it does sometimes sound rushed and her last song (although unreleased) "Why you Mad" sounds like it ended abruptly. I would love her first single to be Mariah only (she can later remix it with a collaborator) but if she chooses to have a collaborator on the first single, I hope that MC takes up more of the song than the collaborator (unlike #Beautiful) or at least is present in the same ratio.

Haha oh stop you. *high pitched laugh like Mariah* Thank you so much. I can't with you all being so sweet. Appreciate the compliments. I took it down because it just looked odd that I had my picture and all the other pictures are of Mariah. So I am like, nah gotta go back to bowing down to queen MC.

You need to calm down. All the name calling isn't necessary.

Andrew you're joking right? Mariah has had a white publicist, backup dancers, video extras, singers (in her choirs), makeup artist, assistant etc. as well as asian, hispanic and other races. So she can very well speak on diversity mate.

Re: Question time (59,462) (59,473) by Lee TS from USA
I would like an uptempo fun song that's happy and festive. Something she can diva to and be fabulous. Something bouncy and catchy. Something more poppy then with a hip hop remix.

Just watched Rene Angelil's funeral. Unbelievably moved. Love of your life. Christ. How moving. Good luck to Mariah and the billionaire love of her life.

What the hell did you just say? What are you, ass-swipe, implying? As a mixed black guy that appreciates diversity of any race or thing, including white, I found your comment to be a bit of a stereotype, trashy, uneducated, and borderline racist. Just because Mariah hires black people, doesn't make her point of diversity any less [censored]. You look [censored] as you sound. She has white make up artists, her friends are white, her business partnerships are white, her business manager, Stella, is white complex and she has made great music within an extreme diversity of white and non-white alike. There's nothing funny or sarcastic that you should have gotten from her remarks. This isn't a damn game. This is a real issue. Her remarks are very real to every core, especially here in USA where everyone is still sensitive to several issues good or bad about races, female rights versus male rights, gay or straight preferences, religious freedoms, and several other issues that need diversity. Please understand what you say before you say it. The United States of America, despite our history of racist people and lack of diversity, is still the most diversely populated country in the world with several different cultures and backgrounds. This isn't the UK [censored], people here in the USA don't like to be stereotyped or called a certain way, regardless of any race. I am calling you out.

Re: Question time (59,462) (59,470) by 123 from USA
I would like a stripped down pop/throwback uptempo like Beautiful as her first single. Something that would be easily played on all formats. I would like for it to be really strong, with a catchy melody, good lyrics, and vocals. I would love something that you can tell was cooked to perfection instead of the rush job that Beautiful sounded. It had no bridge and ended early. Or maybe a combo of taking the bass of a club banger and mix it with some jazz like this song.

Why o why did you take your picture down? Wow you are a stunning. "You're beautiful, oh, oh, oh, oh oh, so beautiful" lol.

Re: Mariah Carey calls for more diversity (59,460) (59,468) by Sarah from Netherlands
OK so you actually just proved the whole point. Diversity has to do with representation in the media, award season, on stage. What you seem to be suggesting is borderline appropriation. I can usually understand where you're coming from in your critiques, but this is just so very missing the point. Or maybe deliberately so. I hope so tbh.

She did actually use white dancers at the WMA in 2014 when singing Meteorite.

Re: Question time (59,462) (59,466) by Luke from United Kingdom
Definitely upbeat, I really want her to do something along the lines of Get Right/Respect by Aretha. Something kinda clubby but still has soul.

Mariah's next single (59,465) by Ardis Logic from Earth
I agree with you Mimi L. An up tempo happy vibe type of song would be awesome. She is in such a good place she has probably already written quite a few songs like this. One can only hope.

Re: Question time (59,462) (59,464) by Giovanni from USA
Personally I'd like a ballad. I feel an upbeat or club banger wouldn't do much on the charts. A ballad or something on the lines of "Beautiful" would definitely have a more chance of being her next number one. I don't want another "It's like that".

Question time (59,462) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So I wanted to know how many of you wanted Mariah's next single to be a big ballad and how many of you want a hot upbeat club banger as the next single. Personally I want a a club banger/upbeat song because she hasn't released one as a single in a while. I want something people can sing along to and just have a good time listening to it.

Mariah Carey calls for more diversity (59,460) by Andrew from UK
This article actually made me chuckle. Mariah? Diversity? I thought it must've been about an as yet unpublished love MC has for talented street dance group that won Britain's Got Talent. Alas, it was not. Can't quite recall the last time Mariah had a white back-up singer on stage. Or a white dancer. Or featured a white artist on her albums. And so on, and so on. Lovin' me some o' that diversity, yo. It's good to laugh, eh.

Re: Stella (59,453) (59,458) by May from Denmark
You know, I've been having a blast with the posts. I agree with what you said Mara, regarding Packer having patience but let's recall the man also invited his ex-wife who somehow remained "close friend" to the party and all hugging cheerfully for a picture with Mariah. How much more odd can that be, and then Mariah bringing Cannon too to other events to spend time with the kids and then everybody together. So bizarre in my world haha. At least, it's great to see that on the outside at least, all seem to get along just fine.

Re: Re: Walter (59,428) (59,438) (59,457) by May from Denmark
I'm not anti Walter just wanted to add. But when I said that he is history it is exactly what I meant. He did great things with Mariah and other artists but since the very end of the 90s he hasn't written or produced anything relevant or worthy, it's like since he went bye with Mariah and Celine nothing else has happened for him. All he keeps doing is talent search and mentoring singing children. Even if he suddenly came back with Mariah, would he be able to spark the firecracker? Mariah needs a new sound and something not so over produced, and Walter wouldn't be able to make Mariah be any fresher. Ian I agree that those songs are awesome, but we also we young in those days, lot of teens who lived through Touch My Body and Obsessed don't like the "old Mariah" but probably because they identify those song with their youth, just like I identify mine with Prisoner, Make It Happen and Fantasy. I wouldn't mind Mariah getting a "push" promotionally but not a cheating kind like Rihanna and her free albums and Lady Gaga almost give away song in iTunes. (Remember that time she was offering the song for like 0.1 cents? Lol don't know if that was the exact price but it was mad low.) Since Adele's "Hello" it seems people are wanting more of the same melodrama type of songs, maybe Mariah would be able to bring one at the table and chart it, her image has been very clean lately with all the damage control. She could have a second big come back, I believe in that.

Sweet Sweet Fantasy tour hitlist Stockholm Globen (59,456) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
Excluding AIWFCIY(#4), these are MC's charting singles on the Swedish charts, in descending order. It doesn't necessarily always reflect which songs are still being played on the radio or downloaded on iTunes. I'll save that for another post. Keep in mind that our list isn't like the Billboard Hot 100 (which has included airplay for decades). It's only since 2010 that streams have been counted on. Anyway, I thought It'd make an interesting list in anticipation of the tour.
