Re: B from USA (57,670) (57,674) by Giovanni from USA
I'm sorry Bobby but Adele is a great singer. Her voice is big and amazing so don't discredit her talent. It's like some lambs get threatened or jealous when an artist is more successful than Mariah. If Mariah had released an amazing song instead of "Infinity", she could have gotten a little more success. I think now her eyes have opened and she knows she needs to deliver with better quality music if she wants people to buy her album. But for now let Adele have her time. I have a feeling her new album will go platinum. I definitely plan on buying it when it comes out.

Oh the insanity (57,673) by Andrew from UK
I was quoting insanity for it's complete lack of truth. Scroll down. I think it well documented that I believe in honesty. And I shan't be warded off my fandom just because I don't do it in the way others do. I have posted many things here which do not make it, I temper and am tempered. Good fans here, like Gio recently, want Mariah to produce killer songs, to be more engaged, to be different. To be Mariah Carey again. And I want songs that are sung live, sounding like the record. Everything is lip-synced these days. I recently watched Live8 and I'm pretty sure Mariah was the only one to lip-sync: WBT - is there an actual video of her singing the last chorus live? Come on, we need to accept this is happening and demand something else. It's embarrassing. She can do it. She just wants to live up to being the best singer. She isn't anymore. Art Of Letting Go, indeed. Mariah is, painfully, a joke on social media, just read YouTube comments. Nothing is without foundation. What's the point on continuing to do this? Write and record songs in your register and just [censored] sing them like that. It's the tone of the voice more so than the acrobatics. We love the tone of her voice. Nobody is expecting Mariah at 25. She lost that. But at least we can get honesty and value for money/fandom. I'm not [censored], I'm reacting to a ridiculous comment that Mariah isn't a lipsync machine. She has been for many years. And it should stop. For a dozen reasons. I say it like I see it. And I want this [censored] to get better. The legend is being lost in lip-sync, [censored]. Vegas? NY? I even agree with a poster here who I find quite bizarre: go to the fans where they want you. You may not make as much money, but then it seems to be all about the money now. Elusive? You can't [censored] and tell the world you're fragrant.

Tis the season in Europe too you know (57,672) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
I'm willing to bet that MC doing the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade is in stead of Rockefeller. I'd rather she directed that energy towards televising one of the Beacon shows on ABC, BET or Fox anyway. Hell, make it a Hallmark tradition. They're already partnering with her for A Christmas Melody and the sponsoring of The Beacon residency this year. Why not expand it to a yearly Christmas variety show on the actual network? Plus, I wouldn't mind a surprise televised concert appearance or two in Europe to promote all her Christmas projects before or after the Beacon shows. Come on Connie, make it happen Team Mariah. Don't forget about us Euro-Lambs. We've never ever had you over for Christmas. These things make me.

A new role for MC (57,671) by Ardis Logic from Earth
I think it will be interesting to watch Mariah play a not so nice character. The only other "bitchy" character she has played before, is Bianca, as far as I know. The promo pic looks gorgeous, of course. Is it me or does it look like her breasts look smaller in the pic? Did she get "the girls" reduced? Or, is it just Photoshop at work?

B from USA (57,670) by Robby from Chicago USA
Andrew is from the UK and so is Adele. No pun intended here but you and I know exactly what he is trying to come up with. Comparing Adele 25 to Mariah 45 is senseless and stupid. Adele 25 vs Mariah 25 (20 years ago) would not even be a discussion because we know that Mariah will kick her a** (sensored). I am just so pissed with these people trying to emphasize, in a large scale, Mariah's lip-synching as if this is a complete disrespect to someone. Last time I checked, this is a Mariah website and so if you don't have anything nice to say, please leave.

Re: (57,668) (57,669) by B from USA
Andrew, why do you constantly bash Mariah? A lip syncing machine? Do you honestly believe Adele has never lipped a performance?

(57,668) by Andrew from UK
"[Adele] is not just a lipsynching machine, just like Mariah." LMFAO. B*****s be cray-cray. Seriously, some people who tell other people to stop following Mariah might want to heed their own advice, if not for their mental health.

Article: Underrated '00s pop songs you need to hear asap (57,667) by Gemma from Australia
I'm sorry but I'm with Ignacio Pineda and Lee TS, I loved the whole Glitter soundtrack especially Loverboy. I agree the movie was pretty bad but not as bad as it was made out to be, I mean when I finally decided to watch it I was thinking it was going to be a disaster like the movie Dragonball was but it wasn't.

Don't worry (57,666) by JAXGH from United States
James Packer is the answer to Mariah's prayers lmao. She was pretty cheap and tacky the time she was with Nick. Poor promotion, mediocre music videos and just all around a hot mess. She really didn't hire the best people. But this time, God is giving Mariah all the money she needs (not saying she's a gold digger, but James does pamper her). Think about it, she's paired up with a hard working, demure, successful, intelligent, wealthy person, also not an attention whore. Mariah will not only have the best production but this time, she's not holding back on promotion and spending and paying the best of the best, if that's what it takes to bring back real music. Unlimited amount of cash to spend on best producers, best promoters, best video directors, best manager, best stylist, best everything. I'm really excited for the next album you all. She's fed up with all these fools neglecting her art. Thank you Lord for giving Mariah what she deserves and reserving a man that she ultimately need. Let's go girl.

I like "Mine Again". TBH, I've been listening to "Stay the Night" a lot. I think it's also seemingly effortless but so strong.

It was actually the best-selling song of 2001.

Re: Adele (57,659) (57,663) by JC from USA
Glad you own it, but it did. We should all appreciate the vocal talents brought to us by other people. I'm a lamb, through and through, but I refuse to bash on other artists. It's not a good look. It also doesn't make sense when we compare every contemporary, charting artist to MC. Side note: Can't wait for the snow to fall and listen to "Miss You Most".

Well not to be too dramatic but had me a bit teary eyed and all up in my Nick Minaj feels was When You Believe. Don't know how, don't know why but yeah, it was touching a chord within me. Yours?

Re: Paradox of the charts (57,657) (57,661) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
Mariah is always going to be a diva by the original and true definition. She's a very talented singer, no? So that's a weak reason to stop supporting her artistry. On top of that, her personality and sense of humour lends itself naturally to parodying the demanding diva trope. It shouldn't take a genius to know the difference, but I digress. Whatever happened to: I don't like XYZ's music, therefore I am not a fan? Why is there such a reluctance to let go of Mariah once you've fallen out of like with her? I can't think of any other artist, people claim to dislike their very essence, yet they can't seem to stop obsessing over. What has Mariah ever said or done musically or privately that garners that kind of response? It's utter bullshit.

Adele is making a diva of herself on the heels of Celine Dion not Mariah like, because remember Mariah has done it all, ballads, pop, r&b, hip hop, christmas, a little rock, big ass duets, a little country, dance, remixes. So if some of you are calling Adele the queen, she needs to convince me more, not for the fame but the risks she takes to change the game. Mariah always did, Ariana is acting now like Christina but to me is a silly girl playing all characters redoing all that is done. Someday Mariah will shine again with a song that I believe she has already recorded.

Adele (57,659) by Giovanni from USA
I see that my post about Adele's new song came off kinda rude and disrespectful. So I'd like to apologize. Adele is super talented with an amazing voice. She's one of the most powerful singers of today.

Next album (57,658) by Giovanni from USA
I hope Mariah finds herself again as an artist and as a singer. Her voice has improved a lot. So I'd like her to get serious and write some amazing songs. I'd definitely love another Miguel collaboration. I think she needs a big belting song (ala "Mine again")where she really shows she's still one of the best singers/vocalists.

Re: Paradox of the charts (57,648) (57,657) by Manny from U.S.
I brought up this diva thing because of the interview she gave. I did notice at the Macau performance, she told the photographers to take pictures of the other side. I thought to myself, "Come on girl, focus on the singing." Was that being a diva? I've had discussions with my friends and my ex. They tell me they used to buy her records until she became a big diva. I'm not here to talk bad about Mariah. I'm only stating what my friends say. I can't wait to see her in February.

Vocalist renaissance? (57,652) (57,656) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
Lest we forget davidf, MIAMTEC was sabotaged (shout out to Glitter). Granted the accidental fall of epic injury did its worst first but the leaking of the title and constant push backs was not a normal Mariah thing. Her usual rollout is complete and utter silence until she has an actual album rearing to go. It has become obvious in hindsight that there were people in her camp messing with her album marketing. For instance all those articles mentioning a surprise album, like who is dumb enough to talk about a surprise album release, thereby ruining the surprise? That's not stupidity (well, not only). That's called sabotage. It's howcome a hardcore Lamb, a.k.a. me, didn't even register that her album dropped for real until late last summer. I was on a ranch though not entirely off grid, I just had an insanely busy spring-summer. I just assumed there would be bigger fanfare in mainstream media, ads etc, once her album actually dropped. I mean, I caught elevator-gate on the same day it happened but I completely missed MIAMTEC. All of this was to say that I agree largely with your prediction on Adele's success being a blessing because she is a true vocalist and not just a lipsynching machine, just like Mariah. The Art Of Letting Go sounds like Hello the same way Loving You sounds like Bliss. The inspiration obviously is the former artist. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the rise of the vocalists. Mediocrity has made mainstream music unbearable for no reason at all and I am so ready for the tide to turn In Mariah's favour.

I refuse to judge Loverboy based on the version that was rush released. I want to hear the original version with the Firecracker sample.

Mariah (57,654) by B from USA
Mariah Carey ranking at No. 9 on the annual list of the top-earning women in music in 2015, her twentyfifth year in the industry, is amazing. She's still making bank and she's showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

The art of letting go (57,652) by David F from Mexico
I agree with you T.H from Lebanon this song is a masterpiece I love the intro so much and the middle part plus the choruses and imagine the process of it, nobody would ever show MC how to make a song she has that X-Factor a secret place in her mind where she gets all the feelings to create raw songs Adele is a vocalist might mean that people start to pay attention to talent and why not is time for Mariah to pull something and start belting out too time for the divas is coming again.

Article: Underrated '00s pop songs you need to hear asap (57,651) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Ditto on Loverboy being silly and campy. I believe the track was deliberately constructed to sound that way and was not really meant to sound sexy. Look at how it was used in the movie - almost comical. Heck, even the video is so ridiculously over the top that I won't be surprised if it was some sort of parody of the race scene from Grease or similarly-themed movie clips / music videos. It's one of her weakest lead singles to date but definitely not the worst. And yeah, I hope the original mix surfaces one day.

Mariah makes $27 million (57,650) by Travon..SweetSweetFantasy from USA
The fact that Mariah made this much money without much promo and no music releases, shows how much she is wanted. Vegas has not paid her 15 million yet. It has just crossed close to 16 million is grossing sales. Just saying. It's not even Christmas yet and she is making bank. Way to go Mariah Carey.
