Re: Dreams for next album (60,385) (60,387)

I think it would be awesome if Mariah covered a Beatles song. Like the song "Golden Slumbers". If you have never heard that song, have a listen and imagine Mariah singing this song, it's beautiful.

Reality/doc-u-series (60,386)

I wasn't sure how to feel at first but I think it may be a good way to let the public in on MC and see she has so much more to offer than what their perception is of her. The serious side of her, the mother, the professional singer and especially songwriter side. The woman who can go in a studio with one song, get creative and create a complete new amazingly hot track. How that process comes to her. Not to mention how many life changes she is going through right now. Being engaged to a billionaire, combining families, co parenting, her children turning 5, her vocal maintenance, wedding preparations. There are so many interesting things in her life. I love that it is on E too, as E has a larger audience. I hope she takes advantage of this opportunity and gets the public interested again and releases new music. I say good job Stella, unless otherwise. I think she meant to privately respond to that gossip site and they publicly released her response. I hope she learns from it but I think she may be starstruck at the same time but does want to bring MC back where she should be.

Dreams for next album (60,385)
by Richard Pitts from United States
| |
|
|
Hello all, I am new here, although I go back to the "Mariah 4". Fan since the beginning. Anyway, I would like to change the conversation somewhat. I wish to discuss the direction of the next album. I hope that MC stays current with the album but she should have half the album be covers. I want classic album renditions of Lullaby Of Birdland and Don't Explain. My wish is a remake of "Coat of Many Colors" and the theme song from Family Ties, "Without Us". She can and needs to continue to do current music. Creating new songs is what she is the best at and keeps her gathering new fans. Just something to ponder. That's it.

The headline didn't even need to sensationalize anything. Fun-freaking-tastic. If she won't start none, it won't be none. Let's hope it ends here and doesn't make its way to other media outlets.

How do I feel about this upcoming Mariah reality (60,382)
by B from USA
| |
|
|
I hope this project is a docu-series not a reality show. I hope this series is a behind the scenes look at her Vegas residency and her European tour. I want to see what goes on behind the scenes. Mariah warming her voice up, doing scales, before a performance and things of similar nature. No Stella or her kids or Dem Babies. Mariah doesn't need to be funny constantly she needs to be likeable articulate charming and down to earth. The public doesn't understand her or her sense of humor so no jokes. Make it a prestige docuseries. Discusss the lack of support from IDJ during the MIAMTEC era and why you decided to go home to Sony and do a Vegas residency.

Stella (60,381)
by Luke from United Kingdom

Let's not jump to conclusions. If Mariah wants her out she'll get rid of her just like all the other people she stopped using in the past. Stella may just be really enthusiastic about her work and working with Mariah. I'd probably be going mental if I got the chance to work with her so why can't she be a little excited? That doesn't mean she's going to use her. I honestly don't think her or her kids are going to pose a threat in Mariah's shadow, if anything I would think Mariah has learnt enough in that business to be smart enough to use Stella for her resources.

2002 Oscars (60,380)
by Billy from Greece
| |

Wow, Mariah was really a punching bag during those years, and nobody showed mercy or support. I was just watching Whoopi Goldberg's opening monologue at the 2002 Oscars and the jab at Mariah ("America suffered through a great national tragedy but we have recovered, Mariah Carey has already made another movie") was biting. Not appreciated by the way. Wow, "Glitter" almost did kill her career for good, sometimes I tend to forget. This just shows what a stamina this woman has to keep rebouncing.

Reality show (60,379)
by Lee TS from USA
| |
|
|
Well, even though I was hating hard on it I am looking forward to seeing it. I can't get enough of Mariah. I just hope it's done well and not too ratchet. Since we're calling it a docu-series I guess the only comparison we have would be Caitlyn Jenner's since it's on the same network. I remember Wendy was so mean to Caitlyn when she was transitioning but she actually called it, Caitlyn wanted to be in the spotlight and the fame. Oh well. I wonder if Mariah's divorce would be played out on the show to gain some sympathy votes. Then she finds love with James to show her journey. Maybe she'll find a spiritual guide to fix her relationships with the siblings, showing Alison's struggles in rehab. She can also address some diva feuds and finally meet JLo for a one on one setup by LA. Maybe she'll meet with a doctor for possible vocal surgery, goes through with it and regains her range/power/agility back but loses her whistle register. I know these ideas are like exploiting and terrible but these are what drives ratings and a reality show. Drama. No one wants to see Mariah wake up in the morning, have breakfast, walks her dog and call it a day. And yes to all the behind the scenes moments pon de studio, backstage, etc.

Stella's response (60,376)
by Terna from Nigeria
| |

While agreed that it wasn't the most professional, it shows a manager who believes in her client and is ready to play her role as manager, that's a good thing. That Zeal is there and it can never be a bad thing. Her "Mariah's on fire" quote made me smile, she has faith in Mariah and her abilities something even fans here have since lost.

Reality show (60,375)
by 123 from USA

Well this is coming whether I like it or not. I would rather Mariah have her own moments away from her manager and kids, like at the studio. I'd prefer her moments on the show be like taking out that classic rare car to drive only on Sundays because it's so valuable. I was always secretly hoping that she would release all of the video footage of her recording MIAM along with the album, but it never came to be. I would have loved to see when she had all those producers together working on her album (Darkchild, JD, Hit Boy). What were the conversations about? I always looked forward to JD's videos when they would be in the studio because they were so entertaining, you felt like you were there. We never got to see the creative process to avoid intellectual thievery. It would be great to finally see that process. It would help educate the public on how gifted she is. Then they can also highlight her humor and show that the diva she plays is only for the stage. This could make her relevant again to the kids now who didn't grow up listening to her music on the radio. It might bring interest when she releases a new project from another demographic. Hoping it's edited well without too much of Stella's kids or butt kissing to Mariah (you are amazing) by Stella. Stella's response shows she is not ready for prime time. I hope Mariah lets her have it and tell her the Mariah Carey brand doesn't validate rumors with a response. It's the classiest shade I've ever witnessed from anyone.

Stella Kardashian (60,373)
by G.G. from USA

I get a bad feeling about this Stella lady. If you look at her Instagram, you can tell she is hungry for fame. She has pictures on Instagram of her daughters saying, "Hollywood, the next generation". I think she wants to be the next Kris Jenner and is going to attempt to use Mariah to get herself, and her daughters, the fame she seems to desperately craves. Her endless hashtags and her annoying fingers in the air poses, it screams desperation and immaturity. It's sad, I think Mariah is going to get used.

Well well well, look who's talking trash. Right from the start there was this odd feeling about Stella and I keep feeling the same way, if not worse. I don't generally post on the board altough I visit it everyday but in this time of crisis I had to go with the ones thinking it's a bad idea and a bad choice to respond to the magazine that way. I can't stop thinking about how this reality is going to make Mariah look cheap. I don't wanna live in the Glitter era again with Mariah being laughed at by each and everyone. By the way in a non related topic Madonna said in a show that she would rather die then go to Vegas.

A classless response (60,369)
by Marissa from USA

The way Stella handled this, you would think she just got in this industry a couple of weeks ago. But then again with a background in reality TV she has probably rarely been in situations that require as much class as being Mariah Carey's manager. But nonetheless she better learn how to be more tactful. Mariah's brand is not choosing to curse people out as a clapback. It's ignoring. Period. I don't want Mariah to lose out on good career opportunities due to her manager having a reputation for being a hard-ass. If she reacts like this to some petty magazine article then how would she respond if Mariah had to give her constructive criticism or fire her? Mariah, "you in danger, girl".

Try to show some love and support for a change (60,368)
by Natalia from Italy

Isn't this supposed to be a Mariah fan board? Maybe it would be wise to wait until the final product is released, before we all start criticizing. Sometimes this message board is worse then the negative media. I myself would love too see Mariah on a reality type show, going about her daily routine. Of course she is not relatable, she is worth over 1/2 a billion dollars, and is one of the most amazing singers to ever walk this earth. She is royalty, and should be treated as such, which includes at the very least respect from her noble and faithful subjects.

Re: Unprofessional activity (60,359) (60,367)

I'm pretty sure she responded in private and Page Six, as typical from such webzines, published the message to stir more drama. While I understand why Stella was angry I believe she shouldn't bother answering at all to these kind of people, and much less give them ammunition to make her look even more negative. These gossip places are not worthy of answers, much less from Mariah's camp. Mariah has been trained by Mottola for how to handle herself publicly in interviews and such, Gloria Stefan, Thalia and all those who were under his wings are always known to be very gracious, attentive to the fans and the press and simply ignore anything negative. There's no denial in Mariah's career there had been times when she wanted to speak up her mind and be more herself with the press but it all eventually falls in that she is adviced to just not do so. Hopefully, Stella's way of handling press won't rub on Mariah and she will keep staying classy for the public eye. She is always very lady like, as worthy of holding a princess title. I like Stella aggressive attitude in regards to get Mariah moving and on the go, but I certainly dislike the way she handles herself publicly.

Stella (60,366)
by Musti from UK

Wow I am absolutely shocked. This is absolute trash talk. I am grateful to her for everything she has done so far to rebuild Mariah's image and totally understand her need to constantly pop up in Mariah's pics to make sure everyone knows she is the one reviving Mariah's career. But these comments and the multiple f bombs? So unnecessary. Stella no one will ever want to get into your good graces (who cares about your good or bad graces) if you talk like this, let alone hire you as their manager. Fix this big muck-up right now. You have no right to make this about yourself and ruin Mariah's chance at having a comeback. How embarrassing. Oh and if the reference to "squad" means your moment to get more picture and screen time, no thanks. Stay behind the cameras where you really belong and do your freaking job properly.

I was a little scared at first but Mariah is not at all like the public paints her out to be like some mean self-centered manipulative diva. She's very great in person, so I honestly think this is going to be very funny to see just for the nostalgia if nothing else. I'm really glad Mariah is doing this, she's trying new things and I think Mariah has made it to this good stage in her life right now where she's very happy and confidant doing to do this reality show. Plus, it's not nothing new, Mariah has done these kind of things before with her tours just on DVD, so to see the 1 To Infinity show on TV I think it's just great to see Mariah behind the scenes. I've seen her lots of times in person, she's great in person, very loving, caring and very humble and has a wild since of humor. She has nothing to hide, she's very diva-ish but muscular. All we can do is love and support her through it all, like lambs do.

I can't even know what to say. Managers are clapping back at gossip columns now? Can we all just learn from Beyonce, always stay gracious and best revenge is your paper. Look how Jimmy Pack responded with a very short and simple statement. Basically same message and to the point. Not a good look.

Licia, I know and I am scared of that too, but they are calling it a "docu-series" and so they can't use the excuse of it being "reality TV" and just create random drama for entertainment value (by the way, I watch Keeping Up With The Kardashians every week haha, I won't even lie). I am however disappointed by Stella's behaviors, it's a mess. I understand being a strong independent woman and having the right to voice their own opinion but this is not the way to go, It was nasty and childish and she is known as "Mariah's manager" so her behavior reflects on Mariah's brand because really no one really knows (or is interested in) Stella as a separate individual here. She is being talked about because she is involved with Mariah.

I want to see all of what you listed as well. The thing is that we will probably get all of what we don't want to see because what we want may be too boring for TV. I'm not going to to act like I don't watch trashy reality shows because I do (every week I'm tuned in lol), but Mariah doesn't need to take that route if she wants to be taken seriously. People already doubt her and want her to fail so they can talk about the bad. I hope she shows the world how and why she is one of the best. I'm also not surprised by Stella's response.
