I just want her to go indendent (60,231) by Amber C from USA
She's too grown for these stupid labels and their policies, trying to make her a legacy act in Vegas and what not. Miss me with that. Just free yourself from the corporate shackles and business as usually, music industry slavery. I hope she didn't sign a contract in the beginning without reading it. .

Re: Re: Uturn (60,226) (60,227) (60,230) by Amber C from USA
You speak the truth. Eight years is correct. Good Lord the lambs have woken up. She stopped growing musically (not lyrically) at the turn in the century. She doesn't want to change, she want to do like Lil Kim and sound like a 90s novelty act. And sadly that's what many people think Mariah is; the 90s and We Belong Together. She messed up. She was meant to be the one whose name never dated. But she, and her poor advisors flipped up her booming career. The Emancipation was a way for LA to say, "Ok we'll let you above water just this once." I don't trust LA. I'm black myself and I can feel in the African American community a dislike (lack of a better) of Mariah and everything that she is about and achieved. Mariah knows this, yet she kisses up to her own people (black people) so that they will continue to accept her brand and legacy. But Mariah don't kiss up to anyone. Lol. This is how you ended up trusting no goods in the business. She's making herself look weak always going to people like LA and whomever for advice and what not. You wrote and constructed Vision Of Love on your own, and to this day, it's your most sacred song. Wake up Mariah.

Funny (60,229) by Travon..SweetSweetFantasy from USA
I find it funny how everyone here was just complaining for new music and Mariah gave it just for her fans. Mariah said herself her last album was for the fans. Then, people here were upset over everything Mariah because she failed to score a top ten hit. Then people here started comparing other artists to Mariah knowing it was useless and unnecessary. Then people here started throwing tantrums because they didn't get what they wanted from Mariah to help her legacy. Then people (lambs) were accused of being too nice. Then, the old fans from the heyday started calling Mariah's voice not the same bringing with it unnecessary commentary and useless discussions going nowhere. Then everyone started complaining about something related to Mariah. Now everyone is upset because they want new music to keep Mariah relevant. We all know how this turns out. Never satisfied, never happy, always complaining, and we call ourselves lambs. Ugh. I feel so bad for Mariah always needing to please everybody, even her own fans that honestly don't deserve any accommodation. I said this before and I will say again. Keep this up fellow lambs and we will start getting albums every 10 years instead of 3-4 years. I will find it funny and say I told you so. I hate speculation being told as facts and it's honestly a waste of time. Let's keep it classy, simple, and sweet. Let's talk about what's actually happening folks. Bitter Betty's who can't find other use of their time other than to complain about Mariah or nitpick details in a revolving circle over a period of time should not be welcomed here webmaster. Let's talk about this new album and upcoming single Mariah publicly said she's working on instead. Anyway, what music genres would you like Mariah to consider on this new album she is working on? I would love party songs, ballads, jazzy -retro songs, country hook, or EDM. That would be an awesome album.

Some thoughts (60,228) by Musti from UK
Infinity isn't her best song but I agree that it is catchy and has a positive vibe. It's the kind of message she needed to emote at the time (divorce and all) and, moreover, it was written for Vegas. I know, waste of a single but nevermind. I am confident that all this is simply image repair and a build-up to her next album. There's been a lot of criticism towards Stella on this board. I don't know her level of involvement in Mariah's projects but I think she's done a pretty good job in helping Mariah rebuild her reputation. Certainly better than Cindi and her lousy efforts prior to getting herself fired. As Mimi L has pointed out before Stella does not have much of a musical background, but she might not even be on board by the time Mariah releases her next album. Mariah does need someone with more experience and connections if she is ever to have a hit single/album again. All this talk of LA Reid turning Mariah into a legacy artist is making me very uncomfortable and I truly hope that is not his intention. MIAM was an introspective album (despite having a couple of songs with hit potential) and by no means should be taken as her creativity going dry. Meghan Trainor might be Epic's star (is she really one at all?) but neither her nor any other act on that label has Mariah's element of surprise. She knows the formula better than anyone else. She could easily become Epic's front runner. I think her next album will determine her future status on Epic. Make or break.

Re: Uturn (60,226) (60,227) by George Golden from UK
Well she has to be current to be revelant and score a hit song. It's not okay for us to say oh the album was great when evidently she is not experimenting with her music. So many wasted opportunities these past 8 years. It's like she is loosing her fire. No matter how great you think her album and singles are, if it's not current and fresh she will continue to loose listeners. She needs to break mold and come up with something explosive. After Butterfly, her sound changed and since then it has remained the same. If she releases a big uptempo song this minute with a fresh sound, do you think that radio will not eat it up? It's the material. Her name alone will not get her another hit.

Re: Uturn (60,211) (60,226) by 123 from USA
No offense George, but you are always saying her material is the problem (mainly her rap collabs). Most of us agree that Infinity was a horrible song. But you can't say that about MIAM. The album is full of gems, YDKWTD, Faded, Meteorite, MILG. There were several songs that had #1/top ten potential. The only drawback to that album musically was there was nothing new introduced. Although I would expect that from an album called MIAM, it was more of a retrospect of most of the genres she has covered throughout her career. Promotion was the issue with that album. Regardless of the latest accusations of sabotage (they were label mates for a brief moment on Def Jam), Infinity and the 1 To Infinity album got a good push from the label, and she actually stepped out and promoted the album and performed on several shows. Now that she has more label support and is willing to promote, she needs to bring out really good material. I don't really care for this Kiss Me by Olly Murs. Melodically it sounds just like Jealous from Nick Jonas. I'd rather she work disclosure for a uptempo pop record although pop is a little boring without mixing another genre with it like she has always done. Although, on the top of my wish list is a classic Mariah uptempo a la Dreamlover/ Fantasy/ Heartbreaker/ Loverboy/ #Beautiful.

I see helplessness in Mariah's eyes. She's almost given up. And we are here talking about the future when she releases songs like Infinity and reruns her greatest hits everywhere? [...] I the only one who thngs this is normal for a talent and young spirt like Mariah? Bye Bye was the last "it" song that gives you that Mariah feeling, [...] also had so much potential and the presumed single cover was so Mariah it was everything. Mariah needs to stop over thinking. Oh well she can do wat she wants.

Infinity (60,222) by Terna from Nigeria
Mariah never indicated Infinity was crafted for a hit, what it was was a theme for her Las Vegas residency. It's all a matter of opinion, I see Infinity as a catchy song, not quite radio friendly yes, but a good memorable singalong song and a solid vocal performance. I would pick Infinity over Rihanna's "Work" or Beyoncé's "Formation" any day. It's all music should sound like but those two other songs, well never mind.

Re: Skits (60,218) (60,221) by Lee TS from USA
I still don't get why she has never hosted SNL. Mariah doesn't have to pull double duty if she's worried about performing live. Every other diva out there has done it. And now this "Dangerous Woman" is going to do it, irks my soul. Mariah would be able to show off her acting chops and funny bone that we all know and love. Maybe live TV scares her or something.

Rivals J.Lo and Mariah now on the same record label (60,220) by Depora from USA

LA and Epic (60,219) by darrian liu from taiwan
I was hopeful and excited when Mariah returned to Sony because I thought she would be their priority as there were no big acts at the time in Epic (Meghan just had like, 2 hits and I expected her to be a 2-hit wonder). I still don't understand why LA wanted Mariah to just be a legacy act. The woman obviously still have hits in her. She looks youthful. Her voice is slowly rebounding. With more repair to her public image and adding more relatability to her public persona she could have a comeback as big as TEOM. Obviously other music executives think that way judging from that Billboard article.

Skits (60,218) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Mariah should do one of these. It would go viral like her Carpool Karaoke. She should do more skits in general, like she did for E=MC2 and all. Show people her funny side.

Re: Uturn (60,214) (60,217) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Preach sister, preach. LA isn't even hiding his intention of turning Mariah into a legacy act. First releasing a greatest hits, then going on print saying it won't be easy (or possible) for Mariah to rule charts again and that he would like her to sing from the Old American Songbook. Hyping up "Infinity" as the modern day WBT. Look "Infinity" isn't as bad as I thought it was when I heard it first but is this the single one should chose when they are trying to make a comeback? Heck no. It should have been left as an album cut only. Then to put this along with her iconic #1 songs was the height of stupidity. If they wanted to add something to her #1's album it should have been a classic Mariah big ballad, or a classic Mariah hip-hop collaboration. These are the 2 things she is known most for.

That's a bit weird that MC didn't post anything on Facebook for like 2 weeks, don't you think? Maybe something is coming soon or maybe my mind is interpreting again something that doesn't exist lol. Her last post was Dahlings. Anyway I hope deep inside that means something good. What do you think?

Re: Uturn (60,211) (60,214) by Amber C from USA
That infinity song was a hot mess. It's the worst song she's ever sang. Ever. And all Mariah songs [...] good. She recorded it on LA's label huh? Can we spell sabotage? Lol. I feel she should switch labels or go independent tbh. Her husband has the money for that. Jk. Lol. I feel this red head has a horrible ear for music especially when [...] consider that other weak song/remix with French. Her "yes" girl Racine was there through the good ol' days. I hope Mariah comes to her sences. The moment she signed with that label I knew she went back to being a puppet. LA even approving Infinity, the album cover and the concept of another greatest hits made it seem like they wanted Mariah to transition into retirement. This is the truth don't deny it.

BET honors LA and Patti (60,212) by Lee TS from USA
Hmmm, why was Mariah a no show? Just browsing and saw some pictures of Toni Braxton singing a tribute to LA. Ms. Braxton looked stunning by the way. I guess Mariah's not available or she hates your guts LA lol jk. Interesting. Or at least present the award to her godmother. I guess she couldn't be bothered. Oh, Lee Daniels is being honored too. Ok, that's definitely weird that Mariah is not in attendance.

Uturn (60,211) by George Golden from UK
If only Mariah could make a song like ''Kiss me" by Olly Murs how won't she get a number one with a killer video? Seriously it's the material that has been weak. Her reluctance to change her style of music has locked her in a box. She needs to up her game, I believe she can still get more hits if she is serious. More sexy and classy videos, I said the word ''classy'' not "trashy''. She missed the chance with Infinity. What a let down to see that song on the same cd as her number ones. How bad was that song? And the video? She needs to decide if she wants to continue on that downward spiral or make a turn. We are not saying release a ballad we mean we need a serious hit that will hit hard that even if you don't like Mariah you will be grooving to the beat. Oh how I wish I could be her manager lol. She seriously need to step away from that kind of music that has infected her productivity like a virus. All that trying to be hood has past its sell by date. Just saying.

Re: Alleged track list from Beyoncé’s new album (60,210) by Lee TS from USA
Adele on a song called Lemonade Taste? What does that even mean? It'll probably be more believable if 14 #1's was on that song with her, twerking it down.

I saw it circulating and I thought it was a hot mess. Even though the Mariah duet sounds like a women power anthem, which I have been dreaming of. But what are the odds that she will get both Mariah and Adele on the same album? If it's true, I am all up for it.

Re: Article: Mariah: "Elton John's commitment to charity is amazing" (60,189) (60,208) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
You can't help someone who doesn't want to be helped. I have someone really close to my heart that is self destructing and no matter how much I try to help, they go back to their self destructing ways. Mariah tried to help Alison many times and every time Alison went back to her self destructing ways. Alison is an adult, Mariah can't force her to do anything. But she tried to help only to have her go back to doing exactly what she needs to avoid. Mariah is a mother now, so she also has to take into consideration how Alison's behavior will affect her children. Mariah couldn't help Alison despite trying many times, but she did the next best thing. She helped Alison's son. She is still in good terms with him because she was seen with him after her divorce went public and then he came to defend her when Morgan started throwing stones at Mariah. So don't just call someone heartless without knowing about them. We don't know the extent to which Mariah helped her family and others close to her. Have you considered that she might have gone to support Elton's AIDs foundation because it is a cause that is close to her heart and home because of Alison? Also why so salty about her ring? It was a gift, she didn't choose to take the 10 million away from Alison and get herself a massive ring, someone gave it to her and I am sure he knows more about her heart than you and I would ever know.

Alleged track list from Beyoncé’s new album (60,206) by 123 from USA
So many topics to reply to but I haven't seen this at all yet. This is the supposed track list of Beyonce's Formation album and Mariah is listed on a track called "Women of the World". The release date is April 1st so I'm skeptical of its authenticity.

Positive and successful vibe for the coming era (60,205) by Malcolm from Asia
I am looking forward to the time that these archive will be full of positive stories and comments; on how the new album affect and inspire us, how successful the album was, love how the singles are reaching the top 10, how great the music videos are and proud that it is not the typical Mariah Carey that we see and how we will be having a whole new level of appreciation for MC and how proud that we are united as lambily. I am crossing my fingers that all of these will happen.
