This made me laugh. Why was I also expecting these [censored] lip synch comments? I guess some people don't know what a parade is. They expected a real concert at a parade? Give me a break.

Little reminder (58,040)
by Will from England

That Mariah can choose not to do anything. She can travel the world at leisure, relax in the Bahamas all she wants, play with her dogs and kids, get married, and just quietly exit from the music and public scene. She doesn't need to do anything. With all this negativity that has been surrounding her both privately and publicly from the fans and media, I'm surprised she hasn't decided to do so already. She doesn't need to sing, record, act, direct, create so much as a upmarket loo brush for the rest of her life. But she chooses not to do that. She chooses to still appear in public, whether it be a parade or TV or whatever because a) it makes her happy and b) it can make someone else happy to see her. Clearly not everyone, but someone. If all she could do was lip on the parade, then she has no choice but to (especially if they are not equipped to be able to have live performances, there's literally no point whining). And a little more research would have saved a lot of needless words being typed , and me a lot of reading. So let us be thankful that Mariah still chooses to be a part of our lives in one way or another, and not try and diagnose the non-existent problems she doesn't have. I find it hard to believe that all lambs have degrees in medicine or clinical psychology, because this isn't Tumblr. It seems she's responded to the comments over her behavior in past interviews, and has adjusted as such to match our expectations. Now we're not happy again.

Negativity (58,039)

Ok. It's very apparent that many of you all aren't happy with what Miss Mariah Carey has been doing as of late with her career. Why? I'm not sure. When she lips at a lipped parade (common knowledge) you whine. When she wants to be active in the holiday season (movie, book, endorsements, appearances) you whine. Why can't you just be happy she's doing all of these things at all and being successful. She doesn't have to disappear for years and come back with just music if she doesn't want to. I, for one, am very excited that she's sharing the holiday season with us. As far as her being "stiff" during interviews goes, wouldn't you be "stiff" if your every move was scrutinized, even when it's a good one? Also, getting up early when you're not used to it for days in a row. Also, here's a contradiction. You all say you want her to stop being so over the top and like a diva and be relatable. But now it's she's dull and boring. Pick a side. Mariah's "diva antics" are the fun side that you all so long for right now. But whenever she's fun and funny it's not ok to be childish and act that way. I'm not saying you have to like everything she does, but someone needed to remind some of you all that this is Mariah Carey. A legend who has been in the business for a quarter of a century, not some new star whose career is on the line. She's done it all. She could just stop and hide away but she cares enough about us and music to keep giving us things to look forward to. Just keep that in mind. Stay festive.

Stiff (58,038)
by DK from USA
| |
|
|
Mariah appears to be quite stiff in recent appearances. Whatever the reasons behind it, as an entertainer there is a certain doze of "festivity" that you ought to project, or otherwise don't make an appearance at all. MC dislikes any "age" references but her low energy level on the screen does not help her to this end. Recently she also made a reference regarding "how rushed" the whole "A Christmas Melody" movie production felt, which is almost an indication that she too may not be super thrilled with the final product. One thing is puzzling, for a woman who is in a position to have more control in her projects, why are things always slipping away and "rushed"? I would rather her hide away for 4-5 years like Adele and come back with a solid product than put all sorta random things out there. Mimi used to be against endorsing products, etc, but not on the 25th year mark of her career she is definitely been convinced otherwise - dem babies and those diamonds come at a cost I guess.

But we all knew that she was gonna perform in Macy's way before the performance happened. I assume you've known Macy's Thanksgiving Parade for enough time not to expect a genuine live performance (I didn't know anything about the parade until Mariah performed in it this year). I did also expect her to sing live because I thought Macy's Thanksgiving Parade were like other shows where you can actually choose to sing live. I recently found out that 99% of the performances in that parade were lipped. Just cut her some slack, it's not like her voice is worsening. I have said many, many times before that Mariah's voice is making a slow comeback and soon, we'll hear Beacon-quality vocals again. I'm sure that this year, she will redeem herself in Rockefeller and gain back the public respect to her.

This is just for laughs guys. So how adorable is she with her mommy poses and all? I can't help it but the only thing she was missing to make her ensemble complete was a loaf of bread. I can see her sitting on a park bench feeding the pigeons. Too cute.

You can expect all you want but the Macy Parade performances are always lip synced, that is common knowledge, and it's not by choice either. We all knew you would come out with a post about it, because let's face it, that's what you do and you know well enough what it causes, kind of sad actually. You can poke fun of Mariah and us all you want, says more about you then others. I hope the US Lambs had a great Thanksgiving.

Andrew pay the loyal fans dust and blow away. Every performance at Macy's was lipped. I watched the whole thing. Even Trey Songz's performance was lipped. All I could hear was his backing track the entire time. Even the country singers and Jordan Sparks lipped with a backing track. Mariah lipped at a lipped parade. Shocker.

Um, yeah, I did expect her to sing live. If it was good it would have dispelled the extremely bad press from last year. Feels like a bit of an easy cop out to go on something where "you have to lip sync". And, no, it didn't take me long because I was excited to see it. What took everybody else so long? Bad, bad lambs.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone (58,030)

Thankful for all the lambily who share same love for MC. We belong together lmao. We really shouldn't be worrying about anything. Mistakes have happened. Past is past. Mariah is in a really good place. She's working her butt off and spending time with family. Let's be happy she's never missed a single year on giving us everything. To the person saying she's afraid of singing. Well yes every singer is in the morning, with no sleep. The karaoke comment was just her being honest. It really does become so much of a vocal performance. Mariah is all for fun she just wants to sing along and be silly. Mariah will never fall out of music. It's her life. All lambs know that. About Mariah being reserved and secretive. She's always been like that since the beginning, dahlings. No one even knew she sang in high school. She's still that private person until today. Let's all be positive, love love love. God hasn't left Mariah and he never will. She's been here 25 years yet her plate is still full. Countless projects and so much more to look forward to. Happy thanksgiving you guys.

Macy's (58,028)

I'm a bit bummed when I heard the lipped performance, but then when I checked other artists, they're also lipping. Probably some tech issues. Well at least she looked gorgeous. I just learned that the almost every "live performances" from Macy's Thanksgiving Parade is lipped because of tech difficulties of singing into a wireless mic in a moving vehicle. I still can't get why the media still tries to bring down Mariah with the lipping when every other artists there also lipped their performances. Talk about extreme bias.

Sometimes I think Mariah invokes Erotica-era Madonna and intentionally does things to garner bad press. TBH, I just get life from her fashions these days. Hey, why be interesting, engaging, or singing live in good voice? As long as your hair is laid and your Disney cartoon princess gowns that real people don't wear in daily life are on fleek, then do your thing mama.

If Mariah didn't come off like 2008, Circus-era Britney in that Steve Harvey interview. On another note, I found it funny that Steve said that he and Mariah go way back, because I listen to his show and I've never heard one of her songs played from 6-10 any morning. But ok.

The problem with all this is: you and others like you never accepted change. You put Mariah in a bubble and you don't or never allowed it to burst. This type of post is absolutely ridiculous, even for people like you. There is no current Mariah because for it to be current it had to be from a few weeks ago or less than that. Since Mariah has been like this for 2 decades now I don't see it as a problem. Stop picking, stop judging, stop attacking and be what fans should do: be more supportive. I wonder how long it's gonna take you people to understand Mariah from the 90's is gone. You should embrace what you get now or leave but don't act like you all know what or how MC should be or act or talk or dress or behave, you don't have that right.
