I don't really like the look, too costume-y for my liking. Imo this look ages her, I prefer her national daughters' day look with Monroe. More casual and makes her seem more relatable, which is important if she wanna win new fans. I like how she stirs up the looks though. Still waiting for Mariah in a jumpsuit, imagine how majestic she would look like.

I do love how she mixes up her looks and doesn't follow trends, each era has a different look and not many other artist have done that. It's like her fashion is an extension of her music. I have no doubt she'd write an amazing book, with all the vocab under her belt she'd cook something amazing.

Am I the only one (57,052)
by Giovanni from USA

Who when listening to "Me I am Mariah" plays the album more than once? This album left me wanting more music. In my opinion when an artist does this they've done their job. I get so disappointed because it could have been an amazing era. Hopefully 2016 will have a better outcome. We need good music, videos and promotion.

I see nothing has changed in Mariah land while I was away. Lol Marissa, bravo. You slayed a dragon without even breaking a sweat. I couldn't agree more with you. I honestly don't know why you all even respond to her most times. I see that name and I just keep scrolling. Lol.

The silent lambs are rhapsodizing (57,049)

Just when everybody was happy and positive about an album that 99% of the lambs and casual fans consider a masterpiece, somebody had to try stirring the pot. The only thing though is that when you try to stir the pot, you might end up with "splashes" burning yourself.

TBH, Mariah's one of the last of her breed. She's always giving us glamour, moments of opulence and visual fairytales. I definitely see your Storybrooke reference Luke. Honestly? She should write a whimsical story and bring it to life one of these days. I'm convinced she already has the beginning: "We met on a Mississippi road." Classic. Just remember to give Aretha her props-ah.

Slay dahlin', slay. I don't see the point of someone actually going through your previous posts and then comparing it with an innocent but positive current post. Obsessed much? I mean there was even no correlation between the two posts that it was necessary. Experts nowadays have way too much time on their hands it seems, but we love everybody (as hard as it might get sometimes). They even tried to cause another "movement" by bringing in the "Madonna vs Mariah" drama when clearly no one at that point was using Madonna to diss Mariah or saying "Madonna is someone Mariah should learn from", people were just talking about how they are both legends and have now matured past their "beef" and how some lambs are the ones dragging on these feuds for ages. Cheers, toast, bravo to all the experts in the world. And Marissa, your post was flawless.

Tamar Braxton / Mariahisms (57,045)

Tamar was on the Wendy Williams show today and she referenced her son as a preschool dropout. I thought it was really cute since she is a lamb and has adopted some Mariahisms. Mariah is truly iconic lol.

Lol, Rene that post was so hilarious that just putting a "like" on it wasn't enough. Perfect example. I think now Kristofer will be removed from Mariah's squad. Be prepared to have Mariah post a photo of Kristofer doing her makeup and with the caption from "Obsessed" or something, and then tagging him to make sure the diss has been delivered.

Unbreakable is Janet's MIAMTEC (57,043)
by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
| |
|
|
I called it over a month ago - just like Mariah last year, Jan has come back with an album that ranks among her best work. Even more experimental than MIAMTEC, Unbreakable is also mostly an amalgam of Janet's previous work, with a modern edge. Her voice sounds the best and clearest it has since The Velvet Rope. It's also her least sexual record since Rhythm Nation 1814. It's the best concept album in recent memory, focusing on the importance of dialogue and social awareness. The beats and production, while hardly original, are twisted mashed and mixed in interesting ways that demand and hold your attention. All songs are killer as well. The Great Forever, Burnitup., and Night are reminiscent of her older hits that bear her classic style. No Sleeep is shockingly tame for a Janet "babymaking" song, and is also the only song that brings you closest to the bedroom. The dreamy title track, Broken Hearts Heal and Dream Maker / Euphoria are excellent neo-soul tracks that end too soon. Take Me Away is just begging to be the next single and captures the carefree spirit of previous hits Escapade and Runaway. The gorgeous minimalist ballads Black Eagle, which recalls the poignancy of her old social commentary; and especially After You Fall, arguably her best downtempo track since Every Time. I could gush over this album all I want, but I guess you'll never fully appreciate how great and inspiring it is until you hear it in its entirety. I pegged Carly's E-mo-tion as this year's best pop album, but damn does this knock it out. A satisfying listen from start to finish, a modern classic. This further proves that veteran artists will always outdo their so-called successors. Welcome back, Janet. You have been missed.

Reading too much into something (57,041)
by Rene from US
| |
|

I'm just posting this to show how some people make meaning out of something that's not there. I'm being facetious. Kristofer, Mariah's make up artist tweeted: "How do you keep such a wide brimmed hat on your head while riding on a broom at 60mph?" I think he might be throwing "shade" at Mariah. In her last ensemble she looked like a witch.

So you just trying to start mess to hopefully make people forget about the uprising towards you a few days ago huh? Who uses all of that effort to try to "expose" someone who hasn't even addressed them in months? Unlike you, I don't have autopilot emotions regarding everything in Mariah's career. Sometimes I'm disappointed, sometimes I'm happy. That's not something I need to elaborate on or justify. If you expect me to have the same upbeat attitude I have now that I had back when Mariah's career was looking scattered and directionless then you're being unrealistic. I don't apologize for or take back anything I've said at different points in her career because that's how I was feeling at the time. So who are you directing your witch hunt towards next? It's also comedy to me how so many of you have dedicated endless posts urging and even bullying people into positivity, but when I'm positive even that's an issue. FOH.

"Wow, just wow" (49, 567) by Marissa from USA (Sunday 1 February 2015; 21:26): "I haven't seen so many lambs pissed all at once in a very long time. She needs to take her career seriously or sit down. Period. I don't have sympathy anymore. Someone needs to get her a therapist and life coach and let's get this show on the road. If she's that emotionally wounded then she needs to stop performing. This performance was an even bigger confirmation of why I am not wasting my money on tickets to anything unless she shows consistent excellence in image and performances. I'm staying right at Caesar's this summer and I'm still not considering seeing the show. I refuse to throw money away. I totally agree with Ardis. At least have the respect for your fans money (caps) to try. That's my message to the people who always make excuses for her. It isn't funny or cute for people not to get their money's worth when they are spending hundreds/thousands to see someone who doesn't care." Wow Indeed Marissa. Tell us how you really feel, because that is quite the contrast to your most recent post from today: "Re: Mariahisms" (57, 026) by Marissa from USA (Thursday 1 October 2015; 18:23): "I was thinking the same thing when I heard him say that. That felt like a mini victory for the lambily in that moment." I find the 180° turnaround very uhm, interesting?
