My last post about the outfits was just a joke by the way. I don't mind being the outfit girl though haha. Anyways look there are time when I don't agree with many people on this board (whether it's me being positive and them being negative or the other way around), but I really don't think I am in a position to tell anyone else to leave the board simply because I believe everyone comes to this board because something or the other still ties them to Mariah, and I like to believe that it's love. I also try to look for good in people and I think people did forget that you were defending MC when the Morgan episode came along in your post "The Morgan misrepresentation (54,268)", when a lot of the positive fans were falling for the story. I guess we all have different ways of expressing and we all have different expectations from Mariah.

A fitting tribute to Starr and Ms. Monroe. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the video the first collaboration between Mariah and Brett? I Still Believe/Pure Imagination was brilliant, using that Willy Wonka sample was a stroke of genius.

I wasn't saying that's all you're about. I'm just saying it's not what I'm about. You mentioned outfits I have to fight hard to picture Mariah wearing. Keep doing what you do. You do it better than most. Even if your posts, too, sometimes don't quite agree with me.

Erik, it was quite apparent that you would post, from previous experience. And true to it, again "I'm not one of you" essentially. Well if my opinion is contrary to what you want for this board then just block me. I'm not embarrassed or ashamed. Many people seem to appreciate what I say. And most people are quite adept at ignoring it if they don't. I won't give up twenty two years, two thirds of my life almost, watching it descend into ridicule. And I'm not the type of person who can post about things like clothes. If having a contrary commentary here doesn't serve the purpose just block me. I won't come under a different name. I'm not comfortable with group coercion. And I will wish you well, and those who supported contrary opinions. As someone said: "This is my truth." If people want to stay in contact I can provide my email address. I'll just go. And always wonder where the unicorns are. Because lately I just don't see them. Thunder always precedes sunlight. And that's why naysayers keep going. [Webmaster: Who's Erik? I can't remember anyone posting here with the name Erik.]

Ok is this for real? Mariah are you secretly reading my posts? In one of my posts (I think the feather/fur shrug one) I was saying that I hope she dons a leather jacket. Look next and voila here she is in a leather jacket . I squealed out loud.

ISB is definitely a great video, the channeling of Marilyn and the shot of her with the high ponytail, beautiful. I also love the video for the remix. Goes really well with the song. Mariah looks gorgeous as ever. I think my favorite Mariah videos are from Butterfly (all of the B. Fly videos are gorgeous) and TEOM. With TEOM she stepped up the glamor with one video being more glamorous than the other.

Outfits (54,489)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

|

Hey hey hey the outfits are important. Hahaha. Someone needs to keep it in check. I am not only about the outfits though. I mean obviously there is a lull going on right now since MC is on a break and I have already went on and on about things I would like her to do, so instead of being repetitive, I'm doing occasional outfit reviews. Reviews in the loose sense that is. I'm waiting for her next project, hopefully she'll take into consideration what a lot of the members on this board, including me had suggested over the weeks, years even.

Re: Billy don't be a hero (54,485) (54,488)
by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands

Andrew, it's funny you attack Billy, but you don't answer a single question he asks. He wonders if you're still a fan (because this is a fan site) because you have never ever anything positive to say about Mariah, her songs, her performances, etc. Because most fans love Mariah, we are sick of someone who's always negative about Mariah. You're like a broken record, repeating the same negative opinions over and over and over. When Mariah releases a new single or perfomances somewhere, I already know that you will post something negative within a few days. And you don't say you don't like the song or perfomance once, no you keep on repeating yourself for days to come. Very boring. Maybe you like the "old" Mariah and you think in the future the "old" Mariah will re-emerge, but it is very clear you don't like the current Mariah. Billy wonders how you can call yourself a fan when it's clear you're not. So just like Billy (and dozens other fans) we give you one advice: let Mariah go and you will be much happier.

Darren you're a hero (54,487)
by Andrew from UK
| |
|
|
Hi Darren, I'm no voice expert (cue people tapping away) but I would think reasonably this: if I overwork a muscle, say a bicep, and I've damaged it, would I really be told to pump it back to its peak or would I be told to go away and heal? Genuinely I think it's an interesting point. But with the Mariah will get better vocally the longer a tour goes on, my question is this: if you can sing all your songs at home, which she must do quite a lot, then where is the logic in the premise? I guess I'm just quite confused about the argument. Doesn't she sing at home? Why does it take concerts for the warm-up? Surely by this point then, Hero should not be lipped at all?

Indeed, the video "I still believe" is perfection, and yet so effortless. Mariah at her best. Glamour and sexy. One of my favorite videos of her. Along with all the videos from "Butterfly". And "Sweetheart" from Number Ones has a sexy video. Mariah was always ahead of her time.

Billy don't be a hero (54,485)
by Andrew from UK
| |
|
|
If you don't like my messages, don't read them. I'm not convinced you understand them anyway. Dressing up "I don't like what you say so stop saying it" in your [censored] just emphasises my last point. It made me actually laugh in pity. And it emphasises another's point as to how it's always the "don't say anything negative because we get militant" camp who are vicious. Which is true. If I really get on your nerves, which it is clear I do, just don't read my messages. I post less because the responses can be tedious (as in GG's post earlier). I don't think lip-syncing the climax of Hero is anything to be happy about and I'll leave it for you or Mimi L to tell me what outfits look good on Mariah because that ain't my bag. To make the point emphatically for you once more: it is not in any way ethical or dignified for you to say that people who post about Mariah must follow your ideology or get lost. You act as if there's legitimate debate and this is an open forum whereas I and others have told you that it is increasingly not that way. Dressing up your drivel in a post attempting to be clever and authoritative is the same nasty tired approach but with a bow on top. So don't read my posts. Don't. There's my name and my actual face. Right there. But something tells me you just had to read this one, too. Itchy under your skin is it? GG you were always great in your (brief) posts. Post more often. It's better than the illuminati paying Nick to make Tommy burn Mariah's effigy etc.

I never said Mariah could do no wrong. I just don't say what people are already saying. I said this before and I will say it again, I recognize respect. It doesn't sometimes show on this post by me. For that I apologize. I will say that I agree with all points made most of the time but I am not the one to agree, not to agree nor post a response. As much as I have been hard on Andrew, he actually speaks the truth most of the time. The issues I had with him were how extremely rude he came across, to me, on some of his posts. The same apeopleies to everyone else. I have an extremely high IQ in English and writing. If someone types blunt, people might take it the wrong way. Thats all I have seen here. I reacted and I was wrong. However, it still comes down to how the other side interprets the message. If the other side isn't going to say what they meant; then the arguments continue because the origional message is still misunderstood. The arguments sadly have not stopped and have escalated to namecalling because of misunderstandings. I don't usually post frequently so I will not view myself a hypocrite on name calling. On behalf of name calling, I apologize to all I offended by using the word "sissie's".

New music (54,482)
by Luke from United Kingdom
| |
|
|
I wonder what they have planned? They couldn't record a full album inbetween now and her next set of shows unless the album has been ready for a while, so could it be a new single? YDKWTD was amazing and could have been a summer hit, it would be cool if they do something like that again or Meteorite. Those songs are the ones I listen to the most from that album. Because of those songs I found the originals that they sampled from and fell in love with those as well. Either way I don't mind what she does, I'm just excited. Can we just appreciate that she's making new music already? Her persistence in proving everyone wrong is inspirational. Also, I don't know how some people keep seeing the "deterioration" of her voice when it's been improving at a fast rate and so has her confidence. I honestly think some people just have a hard time of breaking the habit of finding something negative in every situation.

Andrew and the art of letting go (54,481)
by Bill from the UK
| |
|
|
What you need to remember though Andrew is this site's purpose. It is a fan site. It's supposed to be a place where MC's fans can talk about her latest album, performance, interview, project etc. with like minded people who are interested in discussing it. Mariah gets enough of a bad rap in magazines and in general around the Internet, so her fan site should be a place of refuge for her fans to just hang and have fun. I get being critical from time to time, but Andrew, with you it is relentless to the point that your posts have just lost their credibility. When Mariah does well, like at the Beacon and Vegas, you don't balance out your criticisms with any praise. You clam up and vanish and then crawl out of the woodwork again when it's time to take her down. I still cannot understand why you post here when you don't like Mariah, her music, her current direction, her voice, her fans, or seemingly anything about her. Maybe it's time to just accept she isn't what you want her to be, bow out gracefully, and relish the good memories you have of her. Letting go's not easy, it's exceedingly hurtful, but there's an art to it.

Nick Cannon is that you? Why yes it is. That too in Paris. Good that they are on good terms. However back to the main focus, I'd be that girl if I met Mariah, either a sobbing mess or straight up faint. It's either one of the two, there is no in between. Here's the video.

I agree, I would love more colors. During TEOM Mariah wore so many colors, even neon (which isn't easy to carry off) but she looked gorgeous in them all. She literally had those mini bandage dresses in every color and was seen wearing each color out and about looking like Malibu Barbie. I hope to see her in some Balmain. I always liked Balmain designs. MC could look fierce in them.

Lolol somehow I feel flattered you like my post lolol. Yeah, she could train and practice without a camera, but it's better to have an audience. It's different, singing by ourselves and singing in front of people. In front of people, you'll have the pressure to do good and that pressure could be used to encourage her to pick up good habits in her singing and performing. I think that would propel her voice back to form faster than if she takes a hiatus and just practice behind the curtains.

Just like you are going to keep it real so are other people. You said this is not high school, but your response wasn't very adult. They have a right to express how they feel. I don't always agree, but it's an open forum and as long as they don't go too far, they are within their right to express themselves. You all are the ones who want everything to be one sided. If it's not all happy and saying Mariah can do no wrong, then in your world the opinion is not valid and people are being [...]. How is that fair?

Stylist (54,474)
by Lee TS from USA

I think it's the Wilfredo fellow who's her current stylist. I guess he doubles as a stylist besides designing beautiful jewelry. He's usually seen with a lint roller by her side and tugging and fixing her outfits. With Mariah's latest ensemble I figured she was going to the zoo, you know that's her usual attire to such things lol jk. You can tell when it's usually an Alaia based on the stretchy fabric and fishtail finish. What I am glad though is she ditched the funeral dresses from MIAM era. I want to see more color from her. And it's really great to see her enjoy herself and Dembabies, that's what I want to see. Her being happy, not worrying about a performance or a promo obligation. I have to say Rocky seems to exude more of a diva behavior than Roe, they're the cutest, Mariah's got a handful from Roc alone.

What's a lamb? (54,473)
by Travon..SweetSweetFantasy from USA

What saddens me is how quick Mariah Carey fans turn on her for not doing what they want her to do. If anyone should be impatient it's me. I have been following her every day for 10 years. I have seen her good and I have seen her bad. I am proud to say I have never been critical. She is like a sister to me and has gotten me through alot of pain. I had no mom, no dad, and was bullied everyday at school. Her music became an essence in my life. In 2005, she displayed confidece, something I didn't have. She showed me that when no one cares to look inside my heart and not be afraid of who I am. She gave me that fire and that confidence. Her music spoke of love and heartache. Hero got me through everything. I loved the respect she received in 2005 and she wasn't afraid to be free. I felt that when the going gets tough, Mariah made it easier for herself by continuing to fight. I have felt the last few years that she has stopped fighting because her fans are no longer there for her and the media hates her. I apologize if I come across as extremely blunt on this post but I don't want to see our legend go down because of shame. She has always appreciated her fans and talks to us as an extended family. She lets us in to her life, hoping that her fans would understand what she is going through. Collectively as a whole, I feel ashamed to call myself a lamb because Mariah is under tremendous stress and last thing she needs is her lambs saying what people already do on a daily basis.

So, we're not gonna acknowledge that her voice has been improving a great deal lately? Clearly she's been taking better care of it. As much as you all say she lip syncs (all the hard notes) I'm sure her voice would be in even better condition once she reaches Aretha and Patti's age. Randy although I can totally relate to/understand most of your emotions you go through as a Mariah fan, I just don't think I could be personally be "furious" with Mariah based on career choices. Maybe bothered or hoping she proves the haters and naysayers wrong, but I just feel like she already gave so much and worked twice as hard as her peers in her prime, so my feelings are more empathy than anything regarding her vocal up and downs and state of her career. But that's just me, there's no right or wrong in how you feel.
