Whoever is dressing Mariah in Paris needs to come back to USA with her. All her outfits so far have been on point and diverse. She covered everything from evening gowns to camouflage jackets. Mariah has the height of a model and a great body. She should be every designer's dream to dress up. I think so far her best fashion moments have been on AI. Those outfits were perfection. I also loved her more casual style during E=MC2 where is was all about the jackets and jeans and what have you. I won't mind if she hangs up the evening mermaid gowns for a while although they do look great on her.

10 Songs that prove Mariah Carey is queen of the remix (54,465)
by 123 from USA

I love this article. I really hope that with the new album she does remixes like she used to ie this article. I felt like she was halfway there with the Beautiful and You're Mine remixes but I'm going to need completely resung vocals and a new video, even if its her at her house a day in the life backstage in Vegas., whatever. How they were able to narrow a list of 10 down I don't know, I love so many of her remixes, even the Spanish ones. I wish she would sing in Spanish again.

New music soon? (54,464)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

Big Jim Wright tweeted that there is new music coming soon. Now I don't know if he is working with some other artist or Mariah, but I hope he means Mariah. I can use a new Mariah summer anthem. Although Mariah is not directly tagged in the post, he did use her name with a hashtag. If new music is on the way I am super excited, if not, I'm fine with waiting until she is ready because I want this time to be super organized. Promo plan set, video shot before song is released, a clear channel deal and maybe a couple of magazine interviews. Whenever you are ready MC.

Crusades to Unicornicopia (54,463)

As someone who has received criticism (although sometimes just) and abuse from many on this board, I know how it can be. There is a group of about 6-10 people who slap each other on the back and praise each other in their Mariah-religious orthodoxy ("thank you for insulting that person, girlfriend" etc.) who essentially now control everything here. Admittedly, there are some people here who are really thoughtful (I liked the response about Mariah's voice and the reason for not resting it, although I think Mariah can sing her voice back to strength without a camera aimed at her) who I shan't name for fear of hypocrisy. I remember a lot of interesting straight-talking people who used to post here who have now [...] off. Not because there's "nothing to complain about" but because, ostensibly, it has become a place where you either tow the party-political line (ie. live in the CTTA cover artwork) or get lynched. Anyone remember Stephen M from London? There are so many people who were interesting to read who dont bother anymore. Just a hotbed of people who see Mariah as their crusade. To those persons I would say this: I, and others, love Mariah, even if you do not like the way we do it nor openly admit the same worries and concerns. You do not have dominion over Mariah-fandom because you consider yourself more worthy, and you do not get to banish people from the kingdom just because they argue vehemently whenever you declare that there are unicorns in it.

Randy, there is not blinder man than the one who refuses to see. Everything you said in your last post was spot on. At this rate, being only 45, what will be left when she reaches Patti's or Barbra's age? Mariah has been criticized, but one thing she always had to shut down her critics was quality music and great delivery. She didn't have to use smoke and mirrors to mask anything, you either loved her or hated her, but either way she was the lady that would take a mike and sing. I think in her mind she thinks that the whistle register will keep saving the day, but she's used it so much that it has lost its "wow" effect on people. I hope she keeps improving and taking care of her voice because at this rate if she doesn't do something about it, in five years she'll be sounding like "Minnie Mouse on helium". I do pray for a miracle.

Mama Mariah bringing in the edgy look. Love the black fur shrug. Very black swan, and very edgy. I also love the side pony tail. She is doing a lot of different hairstyles. Fingers crossed we get a leather jacket look next. I love how Mariah rocked a lot of different colored jackets in 2008. She looked gorgeous in each and every color she wore the pink, the gold, yellow/mustard.

One Sweet Day article (54,460)
by Manny from U.S.
| |
|
|
I read the article about OSD, which is in this website's news section. Did the author just refer to it as an AIDS song? "A mix of megastar Mariah Carey, mega-group Boyz II Men, and lyrics about how undeniably sad the AIDS epidemic is, 'One Sweet Day' is like one of those movies that seem written just to get a Best Picture Oscar." Mariah said it was about the death of a friend, I'm not sure if it was David Cole. She never mentioned it was about AIDS though. I always figured he was gay and maybe he did die from complications of AIDS. There's nothing wrong with that, but it seems this article is 1) not true 2) written more to stigmatize the AIDS "epidemic". It bothers me how these professional writers twist the truth and make the readers believe the inspiration of this song. It's a sad way to sell their work.

Everyone needs to stop attacking B. I was the one who elaborated in detail what I felt she meant. I took it further by agreeing with her in much more detail. That detail has led to everyone attacking B. B kept it simple and stated how she felt (opinion) and now you want to butcher her. It's not attacking or an insult if the opposed has tendencies to overact and reciprocate insults all the time. This is not high school people. Always acting critical on an open post will never end positively if the comments are one sided and that is what I believed B meant. You're upset B called you a [...] but you are the first ones to agree with tabloids and what other non-fans believe. The critical lambs are usually the first to agree to negativity and will complain about how fat Mariah looks, her kids need help because their mother can't take care of them, Mariah Carey does drug because a unreliable tabloid says so, she needs to retire, she is a has been because everyone thinks it, she is an alcoholic because she drinks alcohol, Vegas will never work for her, her album flopped despite all albums flopping, and that she hates her lambs because she didn't sing your songs. That energy is what is irritating to the lambs that are not trying to argue or be negative. Instead of moving on, the critical lambs feel they need to throw someone under the bus and act like Jesus. However, I will always be keeping it real and will say what needs to be said. This messageboard needs level minded individuals.

If you can't quote it, it didn't happen, with all due respect (54,456)

You can't even stick to a simple promise you made that, BTW, no one asked of you in the first place, that you weren't going to write another post directed at me. You fail even yourself. Let me show you how it's done: "The all knowing poster (54,376). A certain poster here acting like their own nick name think they are all that, oh well, I guess we have now seen all kinds of locos. 'Predicting' (and failing) things that were supposed to happen (right after the BBMAs performance was it?), shooting down almost anyone who dares to say a single negative thing, pretending they can sense (and failing) what's coming out in the near future, when clearly it's a whole lot of bullshit that their mind has conjured. It's one thing to be a good fan but to think they are the only real fans on this board or the world is stupid. Get help darling. I wouldn't be writing this post because I don't believe in being rude to people and slinging mud, every person with whom I disagreed with, I have at one point or the other apologized to because I really do appreciate different views coming in. But someone here think they are royalty and everyone else are peasants. They are delusional enough to think their opinions are facts and they know exactly what's going on. Someone here almost thinks they are Mariah themselves. Come back to reality honey. You are really just making a joke out of yourself." That's you starting shit. Obviously you can't quote me because "I didn't start shit", with all due respect.

I just got the Greatest Hits copy and I started to listen Fantasy and I noticed that it sounds differently, that is, it's like ODB remix and original Fantasy are combined together. I know how the original songs sounds (without the remix) and with ODB, but I never heard this version. I was so surprised and happy.

Yes I am from Asia, not from Phillipines. I am just letting Miss Delusional think whatever the crap she thinks. Obama Care comments won't apeopley to me ever, but obviously we all know what she wanted to be mean when she said those. Let me just say this, I am a dedicated Mariah fan. I have many a times defended her against many others but I put facts there instead of trying to demean the other person or resort to personal insults. I don't think everyone that disagrees with Mariah's actions are on a pay roll to bring down Mariah. People have different opinions. Miss Delusional I see now thinks that my comments about MC and L.A. will cause a rift in their relation. If their bond is so strong, I don't think a random post from me is going to bring a storm. Not everyone is delusional like Child. Plus I have time and again said "maybe" or "I am not sure how true it is" regarding those comments. If she fails to comprehend that then clearly she is the one who can't read English. Not me. Anyways, I hate to talk like this about anyone, but sometimes a drama queen needs to be addressed.

B on behalf of those you call negative (54,453)
by Randy from USA

|
I never said MC needs to lose weight. That's a battle no one wins. Oprah has given up, Kelly Clarkson has given up and even I have gained a ton of weight since my breakup in May of 2013. My last post was a simple logical question: if Mariah is straining to hit notes and sounds incredibly cringeworthy at times, and she is 45 years old with 25 years in the game, shouldn't she take a break or start singing songs that are simple like Right To Dream or Languishing because she has 25 years more to go before she is Patti's and Aretha's age. What will she sound like then at the current rate of deterioration and difficulty? I don't think that's disrespectful or negative. I have gone through many emotions with MC over the years. I have been enamored, at times indifferent, a few years ago post GMA Touch My Body I was furious with her. These days it's worse. I look at LA Reid and JD's comments. I look at her live performances. I look at her personal relationships. I look at the music and videos she's putting out and I feel worst than anger. I feel pity. And if you guys want to know why myself, Andrew or whosoever you all think are critical of her it is because everyonce in a while there's a distant glimmer of hope. We all love MC and she has impacted our lives tremendously but to see her legacy being threatened due to very poor choices, we feel we have to speak up. P.S thanks for the compliment.

Paranoia (54,452)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

Haha anyone is welcome to see our track record and see who fired at whom first. Calling people names. Acting like a [...] with attitude problems. Thinking they are so important that people "pre-plan" attacks on them. Thinking they are being Mariah when they throw "shade" but Mariah doesn't get nasty, she shades with class. She doesn't resort to personal insults. If I had to attack anyone in an anti-Mariah campaign it would be Shelly or B or Lamb_O_Chop among others. People who genuinely support Mariah and stick to their opinions while not getting dirty with others. I only consider you to be a spiteful person who takes out their inferiority complex by bashing others and getting nasty. Why is it such a problem that I zeroed in on one of your posts when you are doing the same to me? You are also zero-ing in on one of my posts which wasn't even offensive towards Mariah. L.A. Reid, is that you? You are so paranoid that you think everyone is coming for you. When I used to write to you before, those were genuine messages with no hidden meanings. Stop being so paranoid. You are not that important that people are trying to take you down. Don't you dare ever try to tell me how I should feel about Mariah.

Mimi L., didn't you say you were from the Philippines or another Asian country? If it is so, your Obama Care won't ever kick in. I think you and Shelly are very sweet people. Your posts are usually balanced leaning more to the positive, but nonetheless never borderline delusional. If there are two posters here bullies shouldn't pick on is you and Shelly. Remember that bullies cook in their own oil when their targets fight back, and I think she got the wrong one with you. I'm pretty sure you'll end up in their "Burn Book", but oh well, as long as they don't write "you're a pusher" or that "you made out with a hotdog", I think everything will be fine.

It is common knowledge that Tommy left Sony at one point dahling. My quote came directly from Billboard on a passage from his book. Please get the gist of a comment before you retort back. I hope it doesn't bother anyone on this sight if I leave this here. Go read the Mariah chapter, it's everything. It's Damien "Damizza's autobiography" from 2011 I believe. This guy is not the villain we want to believe heads. The book also contains a few Mariah photos I have never seen before.

Midem 2015: L.A. Reid calls "X Factor" "the worst thing I've ever done" (54,449)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
| |
|
|
On Saturday June 6th, L. A. Reid was in Cannes France when he made the title statement. Funny how L. A. is reiterating Mariah's recent stance on her American Idol gig. But not at all surprising as they are longtime friends and business partners. It must have come up in numerous conversations how they both hated being judges on talent shows. It even happened simultaneously in the 2012-2013 television season. But to hear some people tell it there was supposedly a giant rift between MC and L. A. Reid that had Mariah whispering to random people in France who may or may not have a full grasp the of English language, of her utter unhappiness with Sony. When exactly would she had the time let alone the opportunity for this tête-à-tête? Judging from the mêlée that ensues every time she and her entourage steps out of the Peninsula, how does it even make sense sonically? Sounds like yet another disruptive rumour designed to introduce doubt into a relationship that seems completely intact. People should get regularly tested for bulkshititis is all I'm saying, I'm happy to administer the tests on a case by case basis. Mariah needs to redeem her sabotaged judgeship on American Horror Story somewhere somehow. One day I believe she will do just that. Shame on The Vendetta for ruining so many opportunities for Mariah to share her talent and musicianship.

Mariah Carey is still working in Paris (54,448)
by Travon..SweetSweetFantasy from USA

Mariah Carey just revealed on twitter that she has just finished working on a new project in Paris (I assume) and can't wait for the world to see it. She also revealed on instagram the "creative genius's" that she has been working with there, as well. On a side note, I have always noticed Mariah Carey never stops working even on her breaks. It's nice to see her still dedicated to her craft and always find ways to be paid.

For the record, I'm not the one who started it. If you track our posts over the last month you'll see how I never addressed her at all unless she came knocking first. I wasn't checking for her, period. She was obviously angling for a fight, I knew it but kept it cordial, it was just a matter of time before she took something general I wrote personally. Who knows what triggered it? My point is, if when I am shading [...], a random poster takes it personally, how is that my fault? There aren't supposed to even be [...] on a Mariah Carey message board to be shaded in the first place, let alone get personally indignant about it when it invariably happens. The Trojan [...] are only here to divert attention from the more sneaky ones. The only thing worse than the [...] (even you can't deny post here) are the "lambs" who do the bidding of [...] enough to be offended by assocciation. If you notice, they often communicate with the [...] as if there is no difference between them and us. I'll call out any post with questionable content because I've seen things I've personally written in speculation or jest end up in other forums as hearsay. I don't care if you're Miss Congeniality USA because look at the state of Mimi's relationships, left and right longtime friends and blood are coming for her jugular seemingly out of the blue. That tells me no one is incorruptible anywhere anytime. Why would I give anonymous posters more leeway than Morgan? Hell, he could be a poster on MCA.

Apparently it will be an 18th century inspired shoot complete with petticoats haha and I'm guessing period outfits. So that makes it even more exciting, because this is something we have never seen Mariah do. This isn't the usual Mariah beauty shoot. I hope it's the cover too, I don't get how a legend like MC never got to be on the cover of these big magazines even in 2005 when she was all over and had her fashion in check with Andre Leon to guide her.

This single should have been the song of the summer of 2008. It's Mariah Carey proving she's a Pop genius. I'll never understand radios lukewarm reception to this work of brilliance. I'll never understand why Migrate, Side Effects, I'm That Chick, and For The Record weren't released as singles. I hope Reid isn't as involved as heavily as he was during the E=MC2 era, an era he ruined by choosing the wrong singles.

I hope Mariah is on the cover. It is exciting. She looked flawless in that red evening gown. She needs to dress the part. She needs to hire a stylist if she doesn't have one or fire the one who styled her for the first leg of her Vegas residency. She needs to dress like she did on AI. She looked like the megastar she is during her stint in hell with Satan.
