Re: When Mariah really cares (56,038) (56,040) by Licia from USA
I could not agree more with what you have said. There's nothing else I could add to make your points any better than they already are.

Thanks for the positive response everyone, and for allowing me to rant. It just disgusts me how much disrespect and flak Mariah gets after working her ass off for 25 years. Rolling Stone in particular. Do you guys remember when they had a poll for the greatest collaboration/duet of all time and the fans voted "One Sweet Day" as the winner? Their response was something along the lines of "This song definitely would not have won had the Mariah Carey fans not flooded the poll. While it hasn't stood the test of time, the fans voted for it. Who are we to say they're wrong?" What the actual fuck? And to think that they placed Mariah at #79 on the greatest singers of all time list. #79. Really? Though I would never trust a list of greatest singers that didn't include Barbra Streisand and Frank Sinatra. Still, disgusting. And some of the most influential songs of all time like Vision Of Love, Fantasy (Remix), All I Want For Christmas, We Belong Together... none made the 500 greatest songs. And none of Mariah's albums made the 500 greatest of all time list. They're a joke. Mariah has earned the respect of the world.

When Mariah really cares (56,038) by Edward from USA
I was just listening to "Almost Home", and then I switched to "Infinity 4-people crammed mix" just to give it the benefit of the doubt again, but I then felt sad. How could the person who put out "Almost Home", also put out "Infinity" and its respective remix? "Almost Home" wasn't a hit, but nobody could ever say it wasn't well-produced and on point lyrically and vocally. Sometimes I wonder if it's only me that notices the lack of quality and messy production on "Infinity" and "Why You Mad". Am I a hater for not liking something that is evidently a mess and a desperate attempt at creating something decent? Do I have to lie to myself because that's what "real/true" lambs do? Now that things have calmed down a lot with the media criticizing her, I think Mariah should be more serious about anything she releases. This is the time for Mariah to step it up and create quality music. I'd rather she got an Oscar for writing a wonderful song, than another #1 for writing just a popular song. The problem with "Infinity" is not necessarily that the remix has four people in it, "Lil Love" has Mariah, Bow Wow, Bone Thugs and Harmony (each one of the 3 guys has a verse) and JD in it, and to me it is a great song, nothing cheap, messy or desperate about it. That's the Mariah I want to experience more.

I don't know but I hope she starts doing some crazy Donna Summer/Sylvester style disco jams. With big sassy and fierce hair. Ahh I can dream lol.

What "Will" Mariah do? (56,036) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So Mariah shared this picture of her with Will Smith, from the 80s, before she became famous. I wonder why? I am not being mysterious, I am really wondering why, so any answers/explanations are welcome.

How to send stuff to Mariah? (56,035) by ZachSingsMariah from USA
MC periodically posts pictures on social media showing a bunch of fanmail and other gifts from fans. I'm curious about how to send stuff to MC so that she or her people will actually receive it. Do any of you know how to do that? Is there an address/P.O. Box for us common lambs to send her stuff? Thanks.

Side Effects featuring Busta? I never knew Mariah did a remix to Side Effects. I think the original is epic and Jezzy's verses were clever because he used to be a drug dealer.

Rolling Stones (56,033) by darrian liu from taiwan
Has absolutely no credibility. When I read the Greatest Singers list and Mariah was at #79, I lost all respect for that magazine. I mean, Mariah is one of the best singers to ever grace the pop music industry, period. Even haters have to admit that secretly. That is just a perfect example of bad journalism.

Re: With the soon return of Adele Mariah can get a #1 (56,023) (56,032) by darrian liu from taiwan
I think she would get not only one more, but two or three #1s. Mimi's comebacks are always huge and we all know once she is on top she won't budge for like, at least a few years.

Anyway I have a question to the MCA community (56,031) by Gilles from Malta
Does anyone know where I can buy some remixes? "Ribbon" feat Ludacris (I love a lot this one) Or even "Why you made" or other remixes. Do you think those remixes are for free and spread around the web? Beause I've been looking for them for quiet a long time to download on a platform and I ve never found them. Thank you.

Why You Mad (Infinity Remix) (56,030) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So I took my time and listened to this song a lot of times because I wanted to hear what MC heard in it to think it was a good remix. Now while on first listen I was like "oh hell no", this song is a disaster, after listening to it multiple times, I think it can be saved. But like I said, a lot of it needs to be tweaked. I think they should drop TI. I love TI but really he is adding nothing to this song. I'd like French to be pushed to the last verse. I would actually like French out of the song completely but since he was the first to collaborate, I think that won't happen. The song should start with a Mariah verse. Then chorus, Justin, chorus, Mariah and then French, then the ending chorus. Various voices should be made a little more prominent because I feel like the music is overshadowing Mariah's voice. I love her urban remixes, I also don't mind her using a lot of rappers in a song, but the song needs to flow well. This song didn't flow well for me. So with a few more tweaks, it can be saved. I wonder why we don't hear anything more about the song from MC or French. Did they decide not to release it or are they tweaking it? Now would have been a good time to release if they do, because Justin's fans are hungry for any release he makes and once his own song comes out in a few days, no one will care about this. We need all the fandoms of the collaborators to get a hit.

Re: Gilles Side Effects remix (56,028) (56,029) by Gilles from Malta
You are welcome. I love side B, I love urban, I said that I like them lol. Not that I do not like them. But I have to be honest with the other fan regarding MC. Most of the time I prefer tracks that are not a single and not famous. I think there is some music for business and some music that is reflecting more the artist's side. And in my case MC's side B are more revealant, I mean I love them most.

Gilles Side Effects remix (56,028) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
Gilles, I didn't know about a "Side Effects" remix until you posted that. I know you don't, but I love it. Thanks for mentioning it. I've always loves the original but a Busta verse and some extra sparkles in products. I'm down. Anyway, thank you.

Re: Why you mad? Um, because of this (56,017) (56,027) by Gilles from Malta
I think it is just a question of taste, I do not mind it, I like it because it is a side B. I have a question for you. Did you like the others songs like in my case for example they are not my classic fav, but my urban fav.
I Still Believe (Remix) feat. Mocha and Amil
Did I do that
Say Something feat Dem Franchize Boyz
My life
Obsessed with Gucci Mann
Triumphant remix
Side Effect remix with Busta
The Roof Desert Storm mix
Don't Forget About Us Desert Storm remix
And the others. A lot of people do not like them, but regarding me I like them. Mariah always does a bit for everyone and for her. For people who like ballads, club, and urban. So are we 3 catagories of a fan? Or all in one? Depends, what do we like?

"Not disappointing? Look I don't want the webmaster to savage me again, because I know he hates doing it, but the remix is an unadulterated mess. It's a joke. Is there a market for this? Do lambs like this music now? It's bad. It's awful. And I think most people know it. I genuinely think less of the the other artists for taking part. It is honestly the worst thing MC has ever released. Ever. Full stop/period. It makes the original sound like an Oscar winner. What's the point of it? Throwing salt into the wound of the original. It's just awful. There are bad MC songs that we all wonder about. And then there is this. Serious questions have to be asked about what the fantasy she is doing." Andrew, you should consider applying for a job at Rolling Stone Magazine, Billboard and other such publications. You could use all your posts on MCA in your submission portfolio. I'm sure you will find great success in doing so and I'm not even kidding. We could use someone like you on the inside fighting for Mariah. My 2¢.

Re: Rolling Stone/Telegraph (56,025) by Bill from the UK
LC, as usual you said it perfectly. I saw the list on Twitter and knew Mariah would not feature because of the magazine's unfathomable determination to not recognise her talent and achivements. History will of course tell a different story. Facts are facts and the truth won't change with time. Rolling Stone just has no credibility for me. Regardless of what the magazine's in-house view may be of Mariah, to deny that she has written 17 number one songs, made the only worthwhile contribution to the Christmas song cannon in the past twenty years, written songs that have reached global audiences and influenced an entire generation after her, is just moronic. Years ago when she ranked #79 on the 100 greatest singers list, it was insulting and you could tell she was included grudgingly and because she had to be. Just bad journalism through and through.

I hear you Andrew. When I first heard "Infinity" I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I said "This is the same Mariah who wrote and sang 'Vision of love'?" "Infinity" is [censored]. And there are no words for the remix. I said it before and I'll say it again. Mariah is lost right now musically. I really hope she finds herself again and starts recording decent material. Collaborating with rappers and recording [censored] music is what has hurt her fan base and career.

With the soon return of Adele Mariah can get a #1 (56,023) by Amber C from USA
Anyone else noticed that Mariah succeeds more when the industry has super talented people? In the nineties the industry was full of great talents, male or female yet Mariah surpassed them all. Same with 2005 if you remember. Mariah can write a heck of a ballad. Her song writing surpasses Adele's aswell. Not to mention Mariah has a super volt somewhere with unreleased #1s that she's just waiting to release. Music is her life. Not only is music her life but Mariah keeps insisting that a surprise album release and what not was her idea, and not Bey's. If that is the case what else does Mariah have under her sleeve? We all know Mariah will have atleast one more #1 we just don't know when. It's a feelings that transcends time and justifies reason. Lol. In my mind I visualized the Billboard charts of 2016, #2 Adele #1 Mariah. I feel it. And please don't come at me with your "charts don't matter" stuff. Save it.

Rolling Stone/Telegraph (56,019) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
I will never understand Rolling Stone's blatant hate for Mariah. Why so much hate from them? I remember when they published their "100 Greatest Singers of All Time" list a few years back, and put Mariah at #79 whereas Bob Dylan sat at #7. Bob Dylan was a lot of things to music, on of the "Greatest Singers" he certainly was not. In fact he was known to be the exact opposite. People hated his voice, especially when he first hit the music scene. What the Rolling Stone has done by being so unprofessional and bias in what they publish is turn themselves into a joke, and wannabe of what they use to represent. They are not the respected music magazine they were in the 60/70s. This publication wants to say the represent "Real Music. Real Talent. Real song writing. " Then when you get the perfect blend of pop-R&B princess/singer-songwriter, with a phenomenal voice they continually disregard and disrespect her. Someone, who actually represents everything they say and stand for. Instead they promote smoke and mirror flash-in-the-pan artists. Rolling Stone has been a joke since the mid-90's. They continually prove themselves to be out of touch, and to have shockingly poor taste in music and artistry. Why are these corporate "music enthusiasts" helping to erode the music scene to shallow fluff? I remember Mariah saying in an interview years and years ago, while laughing, that Rolling Stone always gets Barry Walters to review her album, and she said he openly says he is not a fan of anything Mariah does. How is this unbiased? How is this professional?

Re: Rolling Stone/Telegraph "greatest" lists (56,010) (56,018) by 123 from USA
Thanks for posting this LC. It just goes to show you that the music rags, whom are supposed to specialize in all things music, just go with whomever is popular at the time. Adele's Someone Like You really displays that a 21 year old wrote it. Had she had more life/love experience, she would realize how silly a song like that sounds like. Taylor Swift has 7th grade level songwriting. Compare her Love Story and Shake It Off to Mariah's Love Story and Shake It Off. Mariah's songs are lightyears ahead. Is Taylor biting Mariah song titles? Several songwriters have come forward saying Beyonce does not write and has her name in the credits for the financial gain. Lady Gaga ripped off Madonna's Express Yourself with Born This Way. The lyrics to The Roof craps on several new artists whole discographies let alone songs. I have no issues with Madonna being on a list as she has been in the industry a long time. Watch when she gets another hit a la TEOM, everyone will be praising her when right before they were saying she was washed up.

I can't remember a time when Rolling Stone had ever been kind and supportive of Mariah. Look at the reviews they did for her albums. The most she ever got was 3.5 out of 5 stars if I remember correctly, and I remember her most successful albums received even lower ratings like e.g. TEOM. It's like they have it in for Mariah for some strange reason.
