Mariah's sabotage? (54,353) by Amber C from USA
Was [...] Mariah's sabotage? Why does it seem like the media and the industry is trying to dissolve her? And can [...] believe that there are articles saying, "Mariah will die like [...] and [...]"? Guys before this, I was the only one saying Mariah should not have gone to Sony. The people working with her in [...] are the same ones who did Michael's [...] tour. Who would assign such a team for he?? LA? Plus Infinity is not a #1. We need to stop deceiving ourselves, it's one of the weakest songs that Mariah has written. But the real problem is that LA [...] probably gave her the impression that it was a hit. So when it didn't do well he looked the other way. This is all bad. Where is Racine?

Hello Lambily (54,352) by Kitty from USA
As my first post I just want to say that I have been a lamb for a long time and I always will be. I don't have anyone else to talk about "Mariah stuff" with so it's good that we have a place to be able to do this. I have been keeping up with the Mariah news on Google and have read a lot of the comments here about the latest stories. The Morgan story is very disturbing to me. He should be ashamed of himself. I can only hope that Mariah has people in her inner circle that are much more loving and supportive then her own flesh and blood. I don't want to make this too long but I also love seeing Mariah in Paris. She looks beautiful and fashionable. Her performances have been much better lately and I enjoyed so much seeing her on the BBMA. Show those other performers what a true singer looks and sounds like.

Yes, her openers are always on point. Betcha Gon' Know is lyrically one of Mariah's best songs. She really paints the picture visually. My favourite album opener is probably Emotions from MTV Unplugged. Those two chords and the glorious gospel opening for me cannot be topped.

Re: Mimi L / Mariah sad (54,350) by Ardis Logic from Earth
It breaks my heart to hear this. I hope this is just a rumor. Somehow I think it could be the constant sabotage by her first "X", who we all know who that is, so I don't have to say his name. Is it possible that this man is that powerful that he is still trying to destroy her? Then there is the drama brought on by her so called "brother" that has to be hard to deal with also. I really wish that she could find happiness. She really deserves to be happy and have all her dreams come true. I continue to send her love and positive energy.

Beauty school / Lee TS (54,349) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Haha Lee darling calm down, her make up was fine as seen in the picture here. Rousteing Mus have been out of his mind when he decided to put in a filter, which makes both of them have corpse skin and lips so chapped they look like they are painful. But the original picture posted by Mariah shows they both look alive with healthy glowing skin. Lol, I had a mini laugh attack reading your post and seeing you so frustrated.

Side performance / Giselle (54,347) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I see your point but I am actually glad that Mariah didn't perform from her Vegas show set on the BBMAs. It has been quite a long time since Mariah performed at major award functions and I wouldn't like it if she wasn't physically there. I think a footage pre-shot has lesser effect than the person actually standing there, singing while the crowd goes wild. Plus being away from performing at other major award shows has really made Mariah quite timid, as we saw at the BBMAs, so it's time she slowly but surely gains back that confidence. With her being onstage and being broadcasted live, you get what you see and that's important for MC at this point because people are still gossiping about the Rockefeller performance. So she needs to show them she can still sing and not display a pre-recorded, edited performance. MC gets nervous performing in front of other artists at these big shows, which she shouldn't because frankly she is better than all of them. So performing live in front of them is, in my opinion better for her to get her confidence back and also for her image/singing ability damage control.

Album openers / "Betach Gon' Know" (54,346) by Billy from Greece
Among the many things Mariah knows how to do well is "opening" an album. From "Vision Of Love" to the masterpiece that is "Cry.", the opening track of every Mariah album is striking and sort of sets the tone for the rest of the album. As I listen to "Memoirs" quite frequently as of late, I yet again marvel at the lugubrious heaviness of "Betcha Gon' Know". It's as if you watch the opening credits of a film, so ominous and mysterious sounding. She has a gorgeous narrative style in this one, while the way she manipulates her lower register to "color" the lyrics is spine-tingling. This song exemplifies perfectly what Time magazine said in their review of "#1 to Infinity", that is, Mariah has become "an impressive storyteller", "an artist comfortable in her own skin and voice and enthusiastic about the music she makes and loves".

Mariah's family and Sony troubles (54,344) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I was getting a feeling Mariah isn't happy at Sony. I can't blame her because Sony did a bad job with "Infinity". Most of the good press Mariah got was for Stella. I checked out this article on DM (although they suck as a news outlet) but something I saw was in the comments section. A conversation between 2 commenters "JMixson" and "PhilipBeaupre". A summary of it is while interacting with fans in Paris Mariah apparently looked sad when cameras were not on her, she asked people if they heard "Infinity" because Sony won't promote it. She also said her family and Sony is trying to sabotage her. I think L.A.'s comments hurt her as much as it pissed us off. I don't know how true the conversation (whether fans made it up) but Mariah does get into long conversations with her fans sometimes, like the one of the guy running with her car and she stopped every now and then and talked to him. My heart goes out to MC. She clearly wants a hit because even recently she said she wants all her songs to go to #1, but is not being able to get it. I know many people think "Infinity" is not a strong single but really how many of the songs that are in the top 10 really that strong? "Bad Blood" went to #1, and even MC's weakest songs are better than a song about a pseudo high school argument Taylor Swift seems to have conjured in her head. Another thing I noticed was Mariah wished Azzedine Alai on his birthday with a photo of her and him but she didn't wish L.A. Reid. I learned it was L.A. Reid's birthday when Avril Lavigne wished him. So that further deepens my suspicions, because Mariah always praises L.A.

B, the Lambily doesn't do infighting, we only fight goats, not each other (54,343) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
1:30 MC: OK, let's discuss this, I don't even know why you don't know who the goats are, you've never heard me discuss the goats? Can I film you about this? (RM: Yes.) MC: What's up like, why don't, in your mind, like who are the goats? If there's lambs and goats, who do you think the goats are? (RM: Sleepy time.) MC: Well who? RM: Who are the goats? MC: What do you think? If there's lambs and there's goats, who do you think are the lambs? RM: Well of course we know who our lambs are. (MC: Okay.) RM: But, who are the goats, as in...? MC: Listen, if you had to make just one guess, what do you think a goat is versus a lamb? (RM: *laughs*) MC: What do you think? Well, Lambily, who are "the goats"? And no, we don't mean the greatest of all timers. This is a rhetorical question by the way. Learn to discern the difference between a lamb and them other irregularities. And if you don't know, now you know. This PSA was brought to you by PinkYetLavender. Take heed.

Randy (54,342) by darrian liu from taiwan
Some parts of the Walmart performance are misses yeah, but that only shows she's only like, 3/4 warmed up. To be nit-picky, some notes are squeezed, she cracked into pure air in some whispery notes and the belt in "I had a vision of love" before "and it was all" was bad. It was squeezed and raspy. But then it's pretty high (mid 5th octave (Eb5 to be precise)). That's her nodules interfering (especially in the parts she cracked). Overall that was a fine performance. What redeemed it was that she seemed to regain some of her former vocal agility and her ability to coo softly, as well as some optimally resonant belts. I think she doesn't need a break yet, but I do think for her ultimate comeback, she should work harder to improve, especially her 5th octave belts to regain that crystal clear quality she had. Plus she's regaining confidence and that will help a lot.

Side performances (54,341) by Giselle #1 Mariah Critic from USA
I wonder why Caesars Palace didn't draw up a similar contract like Planet Hollywood did with Britney Spears. I think giving her past performances, I think they should have done that. Where they limit how many "performances" she can do outside of her residency and she can't be allowed to perform at any hotel but there's. At first when I heard what they did for Britney at the BBMA's I rolled my eyes but if you think about it it's genius. They pretty much control the spin of it all. Mariah doesn't do good award show performances, she's way to nervous. She needs to shoot them before hand like Britney did with fans around she would have killed it better and not been as nervous. These side performances shouldn't be happeneing either. Not when she has a residency to do. She should be in Vegas practicing 1000 times not just singing but her timing and also yes vocal coaching too. Not doing as much traveling internationally and singing. She sang in NY, Austria, Walmart just with the past 2 weeks of her residency ending. She should be resting and practice, practice, practice. She did good at Walmart and let's be honest good for Mariah now is great. She just sounded tired and she should also be excussed given haters need to destroy her.

Lighting emergency 911 (54,340) by Lee TS from USA
For being such a stickler when it comes to all things beauty lighting, I am horribly disappointed in Mariah for allowing this horrid of a mess be shown to the world. She's seen here with the Balmain guy who hangs out with all the young hollywood starlets. It's great to see her living it up and enjoying herself while in Paris. And I think she should probably finish beauty school and get those hours in because obviously she can't do her own makeup. The horror lol.

Giselle / Britney (54,339) by Dove from USA
"Also, why wouldn't Britney get support and love?" Everyone deserves love and support, especially when they're going through tough times. What I meant with that comment is that during that time the media was really going in on Britney. The headlines were saying she was using drugs, that she was an unfit mother, etc. A big part of Britney's appeal was that she was a beautiful, sexy female and they were printing the most unflattering pictures of her that made her look like she was from a scary movie. She was always the sweet southern girl who never said anything negative about anyone and gave the most politically correct answers, then suddenly, she started being rude to interviewers and saying things like, "I'm not your kid's mom, take care of your own damn kids" when asked if she was a bad role-model for the youngsters who followed her. That happens to a lot of celebrities and usually after it happens it's hard to come back from it, it kills their career. Britney is one of those artists (like Mariah and Marilyn) that people feel like they know and we love them. Even when the worst of them comes out we still root for them and hope they will persevere. When bad things happen to them we feel it because they're part of us. That's all I meant, I was not trying to be shady at all.

Damage control (54,337) by B from USA
These candid radio and magazine interviews and the Walmart performance are damage control. Mariah's new team is doing a wonderful job. I honestly believe Mariah's new team has the potential to help her rebrand herself and help her make another comeback. Reconnecting with DJ's is a must if she wants radio to be receptive to her again. These candid interviews are endearing. She's been through a lot during the past five years and she's a survivor. Mariah Carey will make another comeback. She has the looks, talent, and the team needed to make a comeback.

My all (54,336) by Otti from Belgium
The appearance in Paris, she reminds me of that performance of "My all" at the Pavarotti and friends, wich is one of my all time performance of her. The curly hair, black short dress, big earrings, and the way she steps into the mic is epic.

Lively Mariah / Lee TS (54,335) by Malcolm from Asia
Today, I just randomly want to watch Christmas music videos of Mariah (I think part of my me want me to watch those, the festive MC, because of some bad news that coming to Mariah these days). When I watch "When Christmas Comes" I had goosebumps and teary-eyed seeing Mariah that happy in those moments, she had complete and happy family and her aura and movements are so lively. I'm so obsessed and crying my heart out loud to see that specific part of the MV when Mariah is playing with Snoopy and the kids outside the snow because she is happily running and being genuinely enjoyed. I agree with Lee TS on being irked to Mariah because she always being escorted by someone like if she doesn't know how to walk. So whenever I see that part on WCC MV, it's saddens me that she is not acting like that now, I want it for her to do that again in her future music videos, live performances and especially in reality and not being awkward when moves around. I honestly believe that it is one of the few things that Mariah must do and learn to work out for her to be love by the public again: be lively. We don't need the dancing Mariah and other antics, being lively in every performances (plus a great outfit and unrevealing dress occasionally) will satisfy the people and hopefully will relate to her as what as she just did on that music video and in 90's performances of hers.

Morgan, Morgan, Morgan (54,333) by B from USA
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Morgan introduce Mariah and Ben? So, how exactly did he help her? He was a successful personal trainer living in his own place while MC was sharing a mattress on the floor with her roommates barely eating. I guess he only wants to be in her life when it's beneficial to him. After watching the video I was shocked and saddened. The man is obviously desperate for money. I love that Mariah's nephew, Alison's son that she basically raised, jumped to her defense. I think her mother and nephew are the only family members that she can trust. She considers the lambily her family and yet when she needs our support the most we're too busy infighting. Instead of infighting we should support her by doing what fans do: buy albums and singles, request songs, and stream videos.

Fan colored glasses (54,332) by Randy from USA
I love MC. But parts of that Walmart performance was dreadful. Especially ABMB. I wonder how many of these recent performances do we think are good because she's better than Rockefeller and Christmas debacles or because she's created new backing track adlibs to match the current raspiness of her voice rather than singing to the adlibs of the original record. I had a dude laying next to me (don't ask) when I played the performance and he wasn't paying it any attention. He said "Ooooh she sounds like she's messing up." This is not about MC sounding like 1990-1997. Sometimes her full voice isn't even pleasant to listen to when she performs live. How does a woman who is primarily known for her voice explain this? She's been beating it through everyone's head that she's a songwriter for the last several years and I think it's an attempt at moving the attention away from her being a singer. No one expects her to sound like old MC but can she sound less cringeworthy? She needs a break from live performing because if she is going to continue to decline, she won't have anything left when she's Patti, Aretha, Chaka and Glady's' age. I really feel bad for her.

Suggestion (54,331) by B from USA
Mariah should incorporate the dresses she wore while in New York on Saturday into her Vegas residency. Those dresses are flattering and beautiful. She has lost a lot of weight. She looks radiant. I especially love the red dress, it would be perfect for the start of the show. The black ensemble would work perfectly for the up tempos, give her room to move around while still looking sexy and showing off those legs. She needs to ditch black dresses and the unflattering pink ensembles.

Shelly / bipolar for those who don't know (54,330) by Giselle #1 Mariah Critic from USA
Shelly, all those things you speak of is when Britney Spears had a manic episode. I know not a lot of people don't know about a lot of things, so I won't get to upset and try and explain. Also, why wouldn't Britney get support and love? It made her relatable and most important mental illness is just that a illness passed down from generation. it doesn't care who you are or what you do. If anything, [...] celebrity is a lil narcissistic it makes you one. You can have bipolar and [...] have a manic episode and go all "let me shave my head moment". People with bipolar can have mood swings from good to bad and be majorly depressive. You can also have episodes where you talk fast, you ramble a lot, your head is very spacey. you jump from one thing to the next. One example is "I'm going to be a singer, no a jumper, no I wanna be a president of a bank" in one sentence. Also the medicines suck, your weight goes up and down, it messes with your mood and your sleep. I'm not going to debate with anyone if Mariah has anything. Everyone has an opinion and I have mines, I think when you grow up idolizing someone it's hard to see something isn't right with them. Anyways, It's nobodies business, She should sue that title is so mean to everyone with problems.

Style-Riah (54,329) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Oh wow, Mariah's style is on fire in Paris. Her figure is perfect. Plus check out those fierce shoes. How she wears these and walks around at Disneyland is beyond me. But she looks so beautiful. I love her more casual looks. Shows she can look good in anything. I have been wanting her to wear more t-shirt/shirt and pant combos. Plus she'd look gorgeous in pant-suits. She has figure for it and legs for days.

Daydream singles (54,328) by Bill from the UK
Just spending the day listening to my Daydream CD singles. Honestly, the UK were so lucky in the Sony days. Fantasy had one disc of the LP and Bad Boy mixes plus the amazing Def Club Mix, then a second disc of club mixes including the beautiful Sweet Dub Mix. One Sweet Day had the gorgeous acapellas, the Chucky remix and fantastic live version, and the second disc had the Joy To The World club mixes. Open Arms had the astonishing live renditions from the MSG concert and the second disc her most popular ballads in the UK. And lastly ABMB, disc one with the rap and reggae mixes, and then the brilliant club mixes on the second. So spoilt. And to think we got new vocals and lyrics and melodies with all the remixes. Thanks Mariah, this is just one of the reasons we all love you so much. Your output for us over the years is something I'll forever cherish. You could have sat back and conformed to the industry standard mixes (a la Make It Happen) but you rose well above and, as usual, set the bar for others to follow.
