The Daily Mail's "Mail Online reporter" suffers geographic indecisions (54,327) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
How do these people stay in business when some of their reporters can't even accurately report that Mariah was arriving at the Peninsula Hotel in freaking Paris France. Why would she be checking in to a hotel in Tribeca when she has an exclusive triplex home there? And since when is changing into an evening dress in the evening to attend a dinner with a cotourier friend seen as something radical? The whole point of journalism is to report things that actually happened, whether it be world political events or what is goes on in the entertainment industry. And who is the "Mail Online reporter" who wrote it BTW? Why is their name not divulged like it was when Rebecca Hard interviewed Mariah and published an excellent article not a month ago for the same Daily Mail? It's not even about the weird but benign Tribeca, NY swap for Paris, it's just indicative of the bigger issue. The press aren't held accountable enough for what they print about people. There is took much emphasis put on hearsay as a source. Leonardo DiCaprio is suing a French tabloid for a story even the editor admits is made up out if thin air but is still surprised to be sued over. Maybe if more celebrities came together and sued various publications regularly they would think twice about what they are willing to print and report without fact checking. Not a class action lawsuit, I mean every week one or a few of them sues a different publication until the press gets the hint. My 2ยข.

Safety (54,325) by Dove from USA
I wasn't too concerned with the kids' immediate safety because they have nannies working in shifts around the clock looking out for them. I was more concerned with M not being present for them or taking the wrong combo of meds and alcohol and maybe passing out in the bathtub. But what you guys are saying makes sense. Nick has always said that she's a great mom and she hasn't shown symptoms publicly of being bipolar. Britney was driving drunk, shaving her head, vandalizing a car, at clubs every night getting wasted, etc. She didn't have round the clock nannies either.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It was beautiful and enlightening. Maybe some young kid is reading this board and will gain strength from your story and see that things can get better and they can live a productive and happy life, even with mental illness.

Top 10 things from MC's Buzzfeed piece (54,319) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
1. The updated "I don't know her" gif.
2. What, so far, has been your favorite career moment? MC: Wow, I've been blessed and had so many moments. It definitely has to do with the Lambilys. My fans have made all my career moments special for me. They are the ones that have gotten me through every single thing, good times and bad, they are who I go to and lean on. I am very thankful for that.
3. Going to Starbucks for a cup of chai. Dahling of course, who doesn't?
6.4. Do you have a personal favorite off your #1 to Infinity album? MC: Hmmm, a friend of mine told me last night that his favorite song was "My All", and I have had lot of people tell me that's their favorite song. And that song is based on a real moment, I wrote in the album credits for #1 to Infinity that was the first time I fell in love with love, and it's true. I went to Puerto Rico and had moments, they weren't severe moments, but they were moments for me, Miss Goody Two-Shoes, and out came "My All". But, I am not going to claim it as my favorite because I love "Fantasy", as well as the newer songs "We Belong Together" and "Touch My Body".
4. Which Plastic (from Mean Girls) would you want as your BFF? MC: "Regina George, you have to be on her good side. Honestly, I would just want to be her; she's the best." So, basically M wants to be me.
6. Is there an artist that you'd like to collaborate with whom you haven't worked with yet? MC: I want to collaborate with me because I've done so many collaborations that after a certain point unless you're really working with a certain caliber of an artist, there's no point to collaborate. It just becomes, "Oh, let's throw these two people together", and that's what I feel is wrong with some of the collaborations that happen today and, dare I say, I helped paved the way for some of these little collaborations that happened today.
7. So this is a new chapter for you, what do you want to accomplish next? MC: "I have so many dreams that I haven't yet realized. I would say that there is a lot of things in the acting world that I want to do. And I am so grateful to people like Lee Daniels, and even Brett Ratner, for having fun, working with me, and pushing me to limits where I definitely would not have wanted to go. There are a lot things I have on the horizon that I'm going to be doing: acting, singing, even writing for movies. I think I'd even like to score a movie, I don't know why that hasn't happened yet, clearly someone isn't on their game." Yay, score for Orchestra-Riah, about damn time.
8. All the Bianca mentions of possible cameo appearances and such. These things make me happy.
9. What is one thing that a true diva could not live without? MC: I guess a smart remark every now and then, a good sip of water.
10. Going to Starbucks for a cup of chai. Dahling.

I am glad you got my point. I really like your posts and you come off as a really nice person. But after hearing about your struggles, I admire you even more now since you have rightfully chosen not to be a victim but to take control. People who look down upon mental illness and judge people suffering from them have corrupted minds. No attention should be given their way. Anyways, thanks for sharing your story, sending love and good wishes your way.

Definitely didn't think that at all. As I said, I'm so pleased with the way everyone here have been discussing mental health issues with respect and understanding. Sure, there are some misconceptions and that's normal but all in all it's been positive. Some people, not the folks on this board, but some people have a difficult time understanding the reality of living with mental health issues or a full-blown mental illness. Take bipolar disorder. I will never be cured and that's not me giving up on myself or choosing to be a victim. I'm definitely not a victim, there's so much that I can do that I do to stay in control of the situation. But there's no cure and I've had to come to terms with that (which hasn't been easy) because it's a fact. I will have to keep taking that medication for the rest of my life. Some people don't believe that that's the truth. I've had friends turn on me, judging me behind my back, when I have no choice but to medicate myself to manage and to live a better quality life. I too deserve a good life. I didn't bring this illness on myself, it runs strong in my family on my father's side. My father's mother, who passed away in 1991, committed suicide. That's the reality of where the illness can eventually lead to untreated and unmedicated. For ignorant, judgemental people to condemn me or anyone else dealing with something like this is wrong and unfair. I hope those people would grow a heart and try to understand instead of judge so harshly.

My post on the stigmatization of mental illness was not directed at you. Just wanted to clarify. I read your posts after I posted mine. I was referring to some post before yours which seemed like they thought that the people defending Mariah are in a way shaming mental illness. I read your post about your struggles, and bravo to you, you sound like a strong person. And I admire how you are keeping an open mind and defending Mariah.

Mental illness (54,315) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
No one is shaming mental illness. It's a truth that exists and is curable or at least can be controlled. Yes, it should not be shamed, but at the same time calling a person bipolar, when there is no proof is also not right. What's even worse is calling her a bipolar and alcoholic/drug abuser. This implies taking bipolar meds and drinking/abusing drugs simultaneously, which is bad and puts not only her life at risk but also her children's. Morgan's statement was not only intended to hurt Mariah but also give a leeway for anyway to dub her as an unfit mother and I call bullshit on that. She seems to be a great mother. Let's not get things twisted. I am all for not stigmatizing mental illness, but this isn't what's going on here. This is about money, this is about defamation, this is about throwing Mariah off when she is trying to regain her control. Morgan Carey tried and failed to tear down Mariah. No one in the media really picked up this gossip and it is now almost gone from the internet, but shockingly her fans are the only ones blowing it up and giving it screen time.

I can't at the lamb singing away while MC is signing. Someone get him into Mariah's camp. Haha he keeps singing throughout the video. So cute.

B (54,313) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Morgan did say those, there was a video of him giving the interview. So there is no doubt he said those. Question remains, why he chose this time. But oh well nobody cares about him. If he thinks Mariah owes him anything anymore, he is fooling himself.

Thank you Otti. You are right, and I would have cracked if I was in her place. Instances like these show how strong and independent Mariah really is. She is truly an inspiration, a great role model.

A diva thing she does that irks me (54,310) by Lee TS from USA
I think Mariah is the only celebrity on earth that needs to be escorted for every step she takes. It makes you think, can she not walk on her own or too splashed out to find her own footing? Like seriously it looks ridiculous. If you can't walk in heels change your shoes dahling but the blue ones did look really cute. Anyway, I wonder what she's doing in Paris.

The girl is bipolar (54,309) by Lee TS from USA
Just look at her indecision to stay with one ensemble according to Daily Mail. Just for laughs but no it's nothing to mock or made fun of. I don't know what's going on with her family but they're pretty messed up. Could money really motivate Morgan that much to severe ties with Mariah? Because I don't see her inviting him to Aspen for Christmas anytime soon. But also I don't know if he's lying or just revealing some truths. Call me a goat or whatever but the alcohol I believe. While celebratory in splashes, I don't know why but I'd imagine while she hoped to be kidnapped from Sing Sing she also turned to drinking to escape the reality. And if she does have a problem with the champagne flute, it makes perfect sense to the health of her voice. We love Dembabies but her being a mom doesn't immune anything, Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston were both parents. Ugh, I don't know. But if Shawn says she's fine, then ok. So I just looked at Shawn's twitter and for his birthday cake his friends included what appears to be an inside joke about him having a drinking problem, oh dear. Last thing though, you can't pick and choose what to believe. If everything Morgan says is false, then him saying Nick was in it for the come up is false too. Back to Daily Mail, they exposed that Mariah has super powers, being in NY and Paris simultaneously.

If Mariah is bipolar, where are the symptoms? (54,307) by Tiina from Finland
In the public, Mariah hasn't shown any serious signs of mental illness and certainly not bipolar disorder. Of course there's a possibility she might have it, we can't know for certain until she comments on it. Even though you can't tell by looking at a person, certainly at one point or another the symptoms would show. A bipolar person usually has major mood swings. I've experienced such rapid mood cycling I was literally laughing and crying at the same time. It can be hard to keep up with a bipolar person. Mania also often makes one edgy, to a point where they become aggressive and confrontational. She can be exhausted and on an adrenaline rush, speak fast and change the subject a lot, whatever, but that does not make her bipolar. It's called not getting enough sleep. There are also no psychotic symptoms. She may live in her own bubble and talk rainbows and butterflies with the fans but as far as having unlogical fears that dominate the mind, things of that nature, no. She'd be a nervous mess, terrified for no logical reason and her behaviour would mirror it. She behaves normally and is intact with reality. And she's never shown signs of truly erratic behaviour. "Stripping" on TRL and handing out popsickles over 10 years ago does not count as erratic behaviour. I'm talking highly risky, possibly life-threatning behaviour, suicide attempts, run-ins with the law or excessive spending, drinking or partying. There's none of that. I trust Shawn. He's actually close to her and has been seen by her side recently. I'm glad he shared those tweets and is standing up for Mariah. He's a good person. The last time Mariah appeared in a picture with Morgan, that I know of, was when she was recording her second Christmas album and was pregnant. Obviously, something happened between them that caused them to drift apart after that, which is very sad. All of the success and admiration Mariah has achieved hasn't come without a cost. She's been betrayed and used by those closest to her and that's gotta hurt the most. I'm sure she wouldn't have things any other way, though. It's good to see her looking so happy and vibrant. The thing you got to love her for is her ability to persevere. She's a brave woman.

Rumors (54,306) by B from USA
I don't believe any of these rumors. I don't see Mariah's big brother saying those things about her. If he did say those things to her he would have said it privately. He isn't stupid, he saw quickly Mariah cut Alison off after her tabloid interviews. Mariah supports most of her family and that's a fact. She tried to help Alison numerous times and each and every time it backfired on her. She is a private person who lives a bubble for a reason. She really can't trust anyone. Even when she was married to Nick, who knew how private she was before they married, she spoke openly about their marriage and incorporated it into his comedy shtick. I still don't understand why people defend him. He used her and he humiliated her. Yes, he's the father of her children but that doesn't mean she has to do a tell a interview but she can make subtle references to him in her lyrics. This isn't a setback for Mariah. It actually makes her more sympathetic.

Mariah, bipolar disorder, let's talk (54,304) by Tiina from Finland
I highly doubt she's bipolar or suffering from any serious mental illness. She may suffer of insomnia but has never shown signs of extreme mood swings or psychotic symptoms, at least not in public. If she's bipolar, however, then it's the both of us. I'm bipolar or manic-depressive (I think it's more descriptive) type 1 with severe manic/depressive episodes, and to top it all off, have psychotic traits (paranoia, voices, hallucinating, the whole deal) among other symptoms, like chronic insomnia. I was diagnosed at 16 and I'm on an antipsychotic mood stabilizing medication 24/7. There. I thought about mentioning it in my previous posts on her alleged medication use as I've been on Zyprexa when I suffered my first severe psychotic episode during a manic phase and was hospitalized for the first time, which was a nightmare and I hated taking that numbing drug but then I thought that maybe it's for the better to not go there. It's not about me. And people judge. But after having read all your comments specifically on this illness, it's not bad at all, in fact I get the sense that most of you are understanding of it and of mental health issues in general which is fantastic. People often tell me that by looking at me and talking to me, they would've never guessed I was severely mentally ill and it's like that with most of us. I've been in a mental hospital locked up in a room with bars on the windows but it's not like I'm foaming at the mouth or crazy looking or anything like that. It was a very difficult journey (during which I found much solace in Mariah's music, her songs gave me faith and helped me to cope, which I will always love her for, I'm forever in debt to her) but I'm doing great today and I'm a stronger person for having overcome these challenges. The illness is under my control. Today I experience very few to no symptoms. The medical term for it is remission. I've been successful because I'm pro-medication (it's true that many of us are afraid of meds and yes, there are downsides to them but meds are absolutely vital in treating the illness as what this is is basically a chemical imbalance of the brain). I've also transformed my lifestyle. I don't touch alcohol (I never have actually, having personally known too many alcoholics). In fact I've always been against all drugs, even cigarettes. None of that has ever interested me and I don't socialize with people who do drugs. Many bipolar people have substance abuse issues. I'm quite the rarity. I even keep away from artifical stimulants, like soft drinks as they aggravate the brain. Rest is key and so is working on a positive mental attitude. I've also become vegan in the process. Basically I do everything that I can to think and live health and to strive for balance. They should stop glamorizing the illness. It doesn't make you more artistic or more cool. It's not a rock star accesory, it's a real illness, and untreated, makes you very sick and can drive you to suicide. It's no joke.

Morgan Carey (54,303) by LC from USA
Shawn definitely has his aunt's back. Just a few hours ago, he continued defending her on Twitter saying "Literally no one I'm my family has spent 25% the amount of time I have with her for the last 20 years. He's seen her 3 times in the last 7 years. Go listen to the 2nd and 3rd verses of I Wish You Well. I'm not allowed to say who they're about, but I personally know 3 of them. And that's not looking back, that's at the time." I'm so glad that he's helping to clear all of this up. Clearly, Mariah knows what Morgan has been saying and the effect his words have had on her fans, so I'm happy that she is clearing it up, though indirectly. I hope this is enough proof for all of the lambs to drop the topic because it was clearly just a sorry bid for money by a man who used to know her.

Congratulations Mariah! (54,302) by LC from USA
I don't know if this has been posted yet, but did you guys know that Mariah's #1 To Infinity show is in the top 10 of the highest grossing concerts/tours for the month of May, according to Billboard? In fact, at number 8, she also has the highest grossing show for a female artist this whole month, with over $4.5 million made from just 8 shows. You can see for yourself here. This is amazing. I'm so proud of her. At least, amidst the drama of her life, there's still so much positivity. Congratulations to MC and to all the lambs that had the opportunity to see her.

The thing about "buzz" singles is (54,301) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Does it really matter? Do people really care? I remember in the 90s to mid-00s, the term buzz/promotional single really meant what it implies. Nothing official. Just to create hype. These days, it has turned into more of an excuse. An intended single fails to make an impact or performs below expectations - it's relegated to buzz single status to somehow save its artist and record label from being branded a flop. So in this day and age where someone as big as Beyoncé had to release a string of failed songs before deciding she'd surprise drop an entire album, or someone as young as Rihanna has already released 3 singles and 2 videos to promote her eighth album but to no avail, I think Mariah's doing better than expected in this brutally ageist industry, especially for a legacy artist. I mean how many other 90's artists can say they've charted thrice on the Hot 100 in the past 2 years? She can fare better, but if she doesn't then she still has it better than most of them.

Did anyone see 5H do Mariah impersonations on some tv show. They really love Mariah, I wish more people from this generation showed Mariah more appreciation. After weeks of waiting I finally have my very own CK# 45202 Mariah Carey debut tri-fold card sleeve with fold-out poster album. I'm so happy. I have wanted one forever since I heard it existed, it's like a MC urban legend of sorts, the debut album that does not have Love Takes Time on the packaging but is on the CD. I believe it's "CD from the USA (2383)" in Eric's collection page. Thought I'd share my joy much love lambily.
