Vegas residency (53,264) by Lee TS from USA About Mariah's residency feeling temporary. If you check out Caesar's website Celine is filling up a lot of dates and her sales seems impressive. Her expensive $500 and $250 seats are sold out for her opening night. Besides that one NY Times article there's never been a confirmation for more Mariah dates than the ones announced. I don't know, it feels very much like a test run and filling in for Celine-while-she-is-gone type of thing. It also feels a bit rushed when she announces a residency in January for a May opening night whereas JLo starts hers early 2016. Now Vegas is all divas galore, divas for everyone haha. I would die if Mariah did a Madonna/Lady Gaga/Katy Perry pic with Celine, Britney, and JLo just for laughs. But we know that will never happen since she doesn't know any of them, the shade of it all. I just want to see Mariah in good voice and good body. The only good thing that came out of Idol was that she looked flawless. I hope Brett can live up to his collaborations with M for Infinity and maybe not so much input from M, sorry but have you seen YME. And I hope she kills and slays the upcoming performances. Mariah being snubbed? / my theory (53,262) by Ardis Logic from Earth In my opinion, the reason why Mariah is possibly being snubbed, is because she has "pissed off" certain powerful people in the industry. Sometimes it seems like there is this grey cloud of bad luck over her projects. Like when she was accused of "going crazy" on TRL just because she took off her t-shirt and gave out ice cream. Then when Glitter was released on 9/11. Also, some people in the industry have agreed to do certain things or "made sacrifices" to get where they are now. Maybe Mariah knows that there are things that she could do like this but would rather not get involved with. I believe that there is a lot of control over the media. If they want to pump up someone's image, or destroy someone's image "they" can easily do it very quickly. (Wednesday 13 May 2015; 22:46)

Britney / JLo (53,261) by Lee TS from USA Oh my gosh yes Mimi I know what you're talking about. I like to watch Clevver's DHR and Mariah never gets any love there and I think because they're so far up Ariana's you know what. Every little thing Ariana does gets reported and because Mariah's her sworn enemy she gets snubbed. Ok maybe that is a little bit exaggerated. Clevver tends to focus on Young Hollywood and their demo audience are like 12 year olds. But I would think when Mariah had her over the top welcome rollout in Vegas that it'll at least get a mention. Besides that the only time I had a problem with Clevver was when one of the girls referred Miley as "MC" and I was like, "Seriously?" I was listening to Billboard's podcast and it's interesting if you're a chart freak. They had like a special podcast dedicated to Britney's PG and she was getting so much love. They mentioned she was forecast to debut with 100k in sales and that's considered a bit on the low side. Sigh, I would be ecstatic if Mariah did those kind of numbers. I hope Infinity is a sleeper hit. Now JLo, there's nothing to say but the woman is winning. Can't really hate on that but congratulate her, she's doing her thing. She's been in talks with Vegas for awhile and even did a NYE performance at Caesar's. So I doubt she's hardly "copying" in how low she can go. There were rumors of her doing Vegas way before M ever considered a residency, that's the tea. And I feel M's residency is very temporary especially since Celine announced her return. Two disappointing things (53,258) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter 1) Britney's single was released just last week and the video is already out. No matter how crappy the song is, it is already being labelled the "song of the summer". I am not really worried about Britney's song, what upsets me is that her single release was planned nicely. The video has the right amount of weird things in it which will make casual listeners stop by and watch it. 2) JLo's Vegas residency has been announced and her promo is much better than Mariah's. Now don't get me wrong, Mariah is doing really well considering last year's disaster, but to think this woman who sings about her butt is getting so much more coverage that a woman who has the voice of an angel is annoying to say the least. Jlo's residency announcement is immediately met with positive reactions while when MC announced hers, she was being doubted and her show was predicted to be a flop. I don't consider either of them being a threat to Mariah but it irks me when crappy "artists" are treated above Mariah. This channel "Clevver News" on YT, cover all the latest Hollywood news, they are always talking about everyone including Madonna and JLo, but MC is never mentioned. Even JLo's residency has been talked about. I don't understand why people always snub Mariah. (Wednesday 13 May 2015; 19:49)

My last post / Pretty Girls (53,247) by TheOne from Philippines Didn't I just say Style? Lol. I meant Bad Blood. I must've been high today. Btw, I just saw the Pretty Girls music video. It's not that bad. I think it will attract teenagers that will boost it to chart. Btw, according to Wikipedia, PG would debut within the top 40 at BB Hot 100 because of its high sales (without the music video). IMO, I think it would do better than infinity because Iggy is popular nowadays and Britney is hot. I'm not saying that MC is not hot, but I think PG is more teenage-friendly than Infinity. He also said it's her best song in a long time. He's not a fan, he likes the classics. He was pissed that Boyz II Men didn't sing One Sweet Day with Mariah. After I told him about the diss he said: Why would he say that about her? He said I don't blame her. Even if they wanted to, if I was her, I would never sing it with them again. Luis (53,245) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I hope they are not abandoning the single, because really nowadays more than album sales, single sales gets more highlighted and MC last few singles have vanished without a trace. If they want to re-establish MC's credibility, a hit single is mandatory. I'm not saying she absolutely has to get a #1, I'm just saying that they should attempt to get it to the top 20s. People wouldn't care if a hits compilation album does not do well but if her single bombs, it'll gain be yet another bad mark on her career. This single is the first song from Mariah to kick of her new era, this needs to work. I am also worried about the chart position this week. I am hoping the various appearances next week will help it somewhat. I'm not worried about Pretty Girls, but Taylor Swift is coming with a huge promo plan for Bad Blood. Weird strategy if there's one (53,243) by Luis from Spain Assuming that Infinity was released like two weeks ago and has already plummeted, do you think that it has any opportunity to creep on Billboard? The airplay has been low-key up to now but at least she's perfoming at the BMA plus Kimmel next week. Sales have been moderate, but I guess that many fans will be waiting for the album to buy Infinity. I mean, the only actual reason to buy this compilation is because of her new song. Maybe Sony is focusing on her album rather than Infinity. It's clear that this "era" (if it can be named as such) is centered on making money from Vegas, as if her album is just another promotional tool to gain media atraction and selling tickets. Also, why is the vinyl planned for late August? Very strange. Despite I buy all her cds, I recognize that I will be buying 1s To Infinity just to support her. (Wednesday 13 May 2015; 16:46)

Billboard Awards logistics (53,239) by T from I am loving the Mariah performances in Vegas more specifically TGIFY. I really wish she would strip down her songs more frequently as her voice takes center stage and you are really able to feel the emotion. I am very excited about the Billboard Awards. I'm curious if there was any news in regards to her performing live or it being taped. There is no way she can perform live at the awards if her own show starts the same time. The AI debacle / Nigel, on the off chance you're reading this (53,236) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines Mariah would've done great on her own. Nicki also would've alone. But AI really screwed up by putting them together. There's a reason why The Voice and most other singing competitions with a 3-person panel only stick to just one female (and probably 2 in a 5 person panel). But no, Nigel - Mariah and Nicki weren't responsible for stealing the focus from the contestants. You and your team did, for doing the dumbest promotional strategy ever in the entire show's history. Focus on the feud. I highly doubt that either Mimi or Nicki's camp were the ones who gave instructions to zoom in on their faces to show each one's reaction while the other one was speaking. Like shining the spotlight on two middle-aged women throwing epic shades at each other was ever an effective way to sell a reality singing competition. This wasn't any of the Real Housewives shows or The Bachelor. AI was a show that has produced some legit talent like Kelly and Carrie. So no, neither of the two are to blame. The new single (53,235) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I was wondering the same Nikki. Although I hope to the good Lord that this is not dubbed a buzz single again. Every single of Mariah's singles starting with Triumphant have been dubbed as a "buzz single" with the exception of #Beautiful. I will even put YM(E) in the buzz single category because aside from a few radio interviews, it didn't have any promotion. Everytime they released a single and it flopped (mainly due to it not being promoted) it was dubbed a "buzz single", a "song only for the fans" and what not. You are also right about the remixes. Not a single word on it or when the video will be released. I don't understand what they are upto. We'll see a lot of Mariah starting next week though, so I hope she has something planned and will actually give this song a fair chance. (Wednesday 13 May 2015; 10:29)

Australian media (53,234) by Todd from Melbourne, Australia I just wanted to have a rant. When Mariah had a bit of a mishap in Jamaica, most news outlets in Australia reported on it. I think it was even on the TV news. When Mariah's vocals leaked from the AIWFCIY performance, again, it was all over the news. Last week, Mariah opened in Vegas. She was amazing, from all accounts. The missing single / weird strategy (53,232) by nikki from usa This is the first time in forever and a day where Mariah released a single without so much as a word about a remix. The release was weird too. It was made immediately available to download, but then not released to radio for another week. Even then, the radio was only the A/C format which isn't going to get you a hit. They don't have the music video finished yet either. I'm starting to wonder if this was released to get people's reactions and downloads. Then, perhaps, a remixed radio friendly version will be released to pop radio and the like with the music video ready. I began thinking that because folks were talking about the over production vs. Mariah's vocals on the track. Maybe that really wasn't the entire finished product? Or, simply, this was drawn out the way it was for the sake of buzz. Once the music video is released then she'll actively promote it on shows and sing it live perhaps.
