VOL performance / 25 years in music deserve more releasings (51,660)
by MC1989 from Spain
Great to watch it. Thanks for posting it. I believe it's from the 25 Countdown from 1990 where she also slayed Love Takes Time. When is Sony going to release these live performances on a DVD? A compilation of her best live performances in these 25 years would be the greatest way to mark and celebrate her 25 years in music. I like the idea of reissuing #1's but I miss something related to the anniversary of the debut album. A deluxe edition with pictures from 1990, the videos from Vision Of Love to There's Got To Be A Way and live material from that era would be a nice and appropiate way of outmarking the importance of such a great debut album. Also, this year Daydream turns 20, one of the biggest selling albums of the 90's. (Sunday 12 April 2015; 23:55)
"#1 to infinity" cover (51,659)
by Will from England
I love it. I love the cover. I love the title. It's so simple. She's not done "simple" since TEOM art, and the E=MC2 title. Hawt. (Sunday 12 April 2015; 23:54)

Album artwork (51,657)
by Marissa from USA
From what I've seen of the album cover so far, this is the type of album artwork that commands attention. There's nothing weird, idiosyncratic or overly edited about it unlike MIAM. It's simple and powerful. (Sunday 12 April 2015; 23:23)
Reveal Mariah (51,656)
by Giselle #1 Mariah Critic from USA
I'm not feeling this cover. It's way too photoshopped, her body isn't even like that. It's a sexy picture but it's not very realistic. Be proud of who you are now and stop trying to portray Butterfly Mimi when you're not. Also I'm curious as to why is it okay for a certain guy here to call Mimi out but dare anyone say it the sheep are quiet? Big double standard here. (Sunday 12 April 2015; 23:22)
Reveal Mariah (51,655)
by Darryle from USA
I got my hopes up for a new single. But I'm still satisfied with the album cover. She looks super sexy. It's a major step up from the MIAMTEC artwork. Having to share the link to reveal more of the album cover is a great promotion strategy. It really gets her name back out there. This era is off to a great start. (Sunday 12 April 2015; 23:15)

Shorter promotional period? (51,650)
by Jono from USA
With the advances in social media and how everything is so quickly accessible, and disposable, I have noticed a trend in music how the promotional period is a lot shorter. Forget the days where you could release singles from the album for a year or two (like Janet did). A rollout like The Emancipation Of Mimi had, while perfect, would not work in 2015. People don't have the patience anymore to wait for an album drop for three months. First singles are now coming out a few weeks before the album (if albums matter anymore), and in some cases completely out of the blue (Beyonce, Drake). Since this is a compilation album with a few new tracks, and those traditionally don't sell as well as studio albums, Sony and Mariah understand that they have to capitalize on the buzz as much as possible during the month before her Vegas residency. This Reveal Mariah PR is fantastic and has done more than any of her MIAM days combined. The internet is so powerful nowadays, more so than TV interviews and specials, so by taking the Twitter route they are exposing her upcoming projects to the masses. Lastly, can we talk about her incredible she looks? This outfit is revealing done perfectly, with just enough skin to keep it sexy yet classy. Excited to see what this era brings. Come on Mariah. Long Ago (51,648)
by Bill from the UK
Completely agree with you Billy. I was blasting out the track in my car the other day and thinking to myself how it was more than a hint of what was to follow. Would not have been out of place on Butterfly and still sounds stunning twenty years later. Can't believe I first heard it that long ago. See what I did there? (Sunday 12 April 2015; 21:27)
"Long Ago" (51,647)
by Billy from Greece
Random, but I wanted to say that this is a straight up hip-hop soul record. And people were supposedly shocked with "Butterfly". The beat is as thick as it gets, chorus filled with overwhelming soulful vocals. It actually sounds like something Dave "Jam" Hall would produce, or something Mary J. Blige would record back in the day. (Sunday 12 April 2015; 21:00)
Cover (51,646)
by Billy from Greece
While anticipating for the new album cover, you just once more realize how iconic the original cover of "1's" is. Loving the new one so far. Not sure about her nose though, which at times it looks very MJ-esque, but nowhere near as much as in past photoshoots, like Allure in 2008 for instance. Her eyes though, ever since the divorce, look very different. It's not plastic surgery. Could be the eyeshadow or makeup in general. But as I said before, "you always smile but in your eyes your sorrow shows". (Sunday 12 April 2015; 20:12)
New album cover (51,645)
by Bill from the UK
I loved what I thought was going to be the new #1's album cover which is the headshot from the E=MC2 shoot used to promote the Vegas residency, but this new cover is even better. I do love the original #1's cover but this new one looks to be equally as good (58% at time of writing lol). Love the buzz going around about it. Well done Mariah and team and good luck for the residency, I'm really excited about what the rest of 2015 has in store. (Sunday 12 April 2015; 20:10)

Reveal Mariah (51,642)
by Gloria from Hong Kong
Glad to see Shelly's back. Love your sweet posts. By the way, the suspension-building thing seems to work. By the time I am writing this post it's 55%. The rest of the album art must be legs, but people are still trending the hashtag Reveal Mariah. It's always so good to see Mariah and her team on track promoting something. One more thing, seeing Uptown Funk number one for 14 weeks is a kind of panic. Would it hit One Sweet Day? Oh no. I know the record is meant to be broken but not too soon. No, who am I kidding? No one should ever take way the throne of One Sweet Day. (Sunday 12 April 2015; 19:52)
