Check out this awesome clip of Cry from Sydney, the creativity of the lambily are unparalleled. Although she only sung the first verse live she sounds really good. (Monday 9 February 2015; 10:26)

I just died laughing reading your post about the horses and Wendy. Then I got back up to write to you. Lol that would turn the show into an enormous hit. (Monday 9 February 2015; 10:08)
Shelly (49,948)
by Abraham from USA
Oh come on Shelly, all the ensembles Mariah wore in Jamaica were terrible. She should have worn something like that red ensemble she wore back in '05 on VH1 where she sang "It's like that". Some of my favorite ones she's worn have been that blue one she wore on "Oprah" where she sang "We belong together", the one she wore on BET Blueprint. And the pink one she wore on "Good morning America" in 2013. But now I think it's time Mariah strted covering up her cleavage. She's way too old for that. She still looks good and there are other ways she can be sexy but classy at the same time. Also, I hope for her next music video it's a good one. I love "Beautiful" but hate "You're mine". And to find out it was Nick who directed it? Why in the hell did Mariah let him do that, lol. (Monday 9 February 2015; 10:00)

Did you all watch? Did you see her red carpet arrival look? I couldn't get over how much Mariah's look she was sporting. From the hair to the dress. She looked gorgeous. (Monday 9 February 2015; 9:51)
Grammy's (49,946)
by Luke from United Kingdom
So Sam Smith has landed himself 4 Grammy Awards which is pretty good going but I'm not sure if his album warranted 4? I've listened to it and I just feel like it's a carbon copy of Adele's 21. Even his story behind it is the same. I have wondered if the Grammy's is a fix when artists like Whitney and Mariah are getting barely any attention. Mariah didn't attain any number ones from her last album but it still got to third place on Billboard and first in the RnB charts with hardly any promotion. It deserved atleast one. It's frustrating to say the least haha. (Monday 9 February 2015; 7:58)

I really didn't want to discuss Allison at all. The only reason I brought up that old news story was to bring up more info about Morgan. Shelly, I'm not a new fan, I've been a fan since 1990. (Monday 9 February 2015; 1:21)
Read my lips: Mariah Carey is a live performer first, a lipsyncer 25th (49,943)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
There's no contradiction at all anywhere in my post because, like I already wrote, Mariah is great at lip syncing when it comes to music videos (especially high speed playback) but obviously there's a lot of editing involved. What she doesn't do well at all is lip sync live and that's because she simply has never bothered perfecting that craft on stage, why would she? Her voice is literally the show. Mariah hasn't made it into a career like some performers have because she would rather sing live whenever she can. Even in her first onscreen role in "The Bachelor" where she played the opera singer Ilana it was very obvious that she wasn't singing. It was a comedy so I'm sure it became part of the gag even if it wasn't meant to come off that way. My point is, it shouldn't take a genius to see the correlation of Mariah being a bad lip syncer and Mariah being mainly a live performer. She's not Milli Vanilli and I for one am glad I don't have to wonder about when she is singing vs when she is lipping. Mariah is human just like most of us. You creatures who were born perfect, with no sick days, bad news days or simply bad luck days wouldn't understand the type of pressure a human heart withstands daily. Lucky you who can control the elements and only have sunny days and rainbows. What's it like in your world? It can't be that great because I've never seen a more [censored] crowd. It borders on amusingly ridiculous. I bet when Mariah reads your comments she just laughs. I do. (Monday 9 February 2015; 1:17)

Now that I'm thinking about it, it seems like it would be better if she just had the same hairstyle every night so that it's easier to edit for the DVD. I hope that for one set (girl next door) she wears pants and a top that covers her boobs. Then for another set she can go really sexy because she's in great shape right now. I was looking at the purple dress she wore in Jamaica, and it was actually pretty and flattering. The 80's bow on the shoulder is what ruined it for me. I know the 80's are coming back but I prefer dresses that are timeless and are not going to make the concert look dated in 10 years. Somebody mentioned Bob Mackie on here a few days ago. If he's still designing she should go to him. (Monday 9 February 2015; 1:05)
Wouldn't it be nice? (49,940)
by Edward from USA
While in Vegas, wouldn't it be nice if Mariah brought two drag-queens on stage as part of her show. She could bring RuPaul and Wendy Williams. RuPaul would be great and glamorous, and Wendy Williams would be. There. As I was saying, RuPaul would be great. Mariah could bring back her wild horses from the Butterfly video on stage and set them free while they run unbridled towards Wendy Williams forcing her to run for her life, and then Wendy's wig would be flying over the fake rainbow. Then Mariah would stop and say: I'm sadly sending my horses to therapy for having dealt with such a traumatic experience of seeing Wendy without her wig. If Mariah did that, her Vegas show would be a sure hit. (Monday 9 February 2015; 1:03)

by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I was thinking along the same lines of Mariah having 4 costume changes and hair changes for a set list divided into 4 parts. While it may be impossible to get the hair done in such short time, she can just use wigs customized for her. I think it will be fabulous and really take people for a walk down memory lane. I hope she has something major and grand planned for her Vegas shows. She's in top shape physically at the moment so any look will be great on her. I hope she diversifies instead of only gowns. Hopefully Vegas will give her the fresh start she needs. The voice is still there, the confidence is just shaken up I guess. (Sunday 8 February 2015; 23:48)
Ardis and others (49,937)
by Travon..SweetSweetFantasy from USA
I have witnessed many drug users in my lifetime including my own brother. I have never tried drugs nor will I. I can assure you that not all drug users take drugs for reasons of their own choosing. Usually it starts from influence then decision. Most of the time it's how they live their life and make their living to get by emotionally, finacially, or healthwise. Note that I never said it doesn't happen the way you claimed. Your statement to Edward seemed as if Mariah never speaks to her own sister because of her drug problem, is pointless and lacks other topics that might cause her to do so as well. Saying Mariah could be a drug addict because she went to Studio 54 as a child (article response) and has a sister on drugs lacks merit. Janet Jackson's mom took her at 7-10 years old to Studio 54 to see Michael Jackson perform and Anderson Cooper also at a young age with his parents went there. Anderson actually met Michael Jackson in a limo around pre-teen not knowing that his crush, Janet Jackson, was the sister of Michael. Are they drug addicts in your mind because they were exposed to drugs? I have no problem with you other than your implying that Allison could be telling the truth when she is known to lie with bold confidence. If you don't know, there is no need to correct with such confidence. That is how rumours and senseless topics are spread and I don't believe Edward was stating anything but opinion. Baby, yes again (49,936)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Aren't you contradicting yourself when you say MC is the "master of lip synching" and then saying you're glad she is "lousy at being fake" when lip synching? The other performers who lip synch would be Beyonce, Madonna, Britney, JLo, even MJ sometimes. But what these people do on stage that people chose to ignore them lip synching is they're putting up a show. They are not only hiding behind dancers, they're dancing themselves. They go through days of rehearsals to get their moves right and the visual performance and stage effects that they put up is what keeps the audience entertained. Nobody at this day and age is stupid to think that these people are singing perfectly in tune while jumping around the stage or swinging from strings. They even rework their hits by remixing them. They're excused because the people going to the show gets the performance as a substitute for live singing. In case of M her entire performance is dependent on her voice. Noone told her to sing every line, but atleast try to sing when you can, or atleast put up a proper lip synch. Change up arrangements/remix the songs to give the audience a new look at an old song. MC is the queen of remixes and re-doing vocals of her songs, she just doesn't seem inclined to waste time re-recording some songs with a newer arrangement. You gotta give the audience something worth their time and money. Either a great visual performance, or a great vocal moment. (Sunday 8 February 2015; 20:05)
Like Mariah (49,935)
by Dove from USA
I bought the song Like Mariah the day the 5H album came out to support our girl. I hadn't had a chance to listen to it but I finally played it today and my son said, "I like that song." I asked, "Really, you do?" He said, "Well, I never heard it before right now, but yeah I l like it." It's not the type of music I normally listen to but I kind of like it too. The actual version sounds a lot better than the slowed down chipmunk version that's on YouTube. I actually watched the X Factor season they were on but the only song I remember them doing is Anything Can Happen. But yeah, the song Like Mariah is pretty cute and my 11 year old son even liked it. Good luck to them. (Sunday 8 February 2015; 19:31)

"When she is caught lipsync it's because she wants it to"? Lol, could you run that by us again. Regarding Jamaica, the whole concert was a disaster with "Fantasy" and "We belong together". Let's just forget about it and move on. Focus on Vegas and hope Mariah slays. And hope that she wears more better ensembles. (Sunday 8 February 2015; 19:15)

Ardis / Alison (49,932)
by Edward from USA
Ardis, you only have to see the trajectory of Alison's life to realize whether what she says should be taken with a grain of salt or not. Why do you think a judge would give Mariah custody of Michael if he didn't consider the child wasn't in good hands. How many times have you heard about Morgan or Patricia trying to leech on Mariah or using her name for personal reasons? Alison was offered various opportunities to get her life straight once Mariah was making good money, but instead of grabbing those opportunities she decided to go on with the life that she had chosen. When you're an addict is not as easy to just change, but when you have a support system willing to help you, you have to do your part too. Alison decided to go and keep on having babies knowing there was a possibility of them being born with HIV, that's being selfish to me. I hope they reconcile because they are family, but attempting at discrediting Mariah wouldn't only make things worse after everything Mariah has done for her. (Sunday 8 February 2015; 18:03)
I think Mariah should keep her onstage banter short and sweet. An example before Fantasy she could say this song was inspired by The Tom Tom Club's Genius Of Love and sing the first verse chorus and bridge and move on. It would make such a daunting show easier vocally. She needs a stylist and manager asap. Just some idea. (Sunday 8 February 2015; 17:47)

by Dove from USA
I was thinking about your idea and I liked it but thought that it would be difficult to pull off. Even if it can't be done in real life for the actual concert, it can at least be done for the DVD. She could style her hair according to different eras at each concert. For example, her hair could be curly for one concert, curly with the front straightened for another concert, the Honey remix video hairstyle (the one she wore with the maid outfit on Ellen) for another, and the long straight hair from ISIL for another. She can wear 4 dresses or outfits to go with each era: Ingénue Era (Mariah Carey, Emotions, Unplugged), Girl Next Door Era (Music Box, Merry Christmas, Daydream), Sex Symbol Era (Butterfly, Rainbow, Glitter), Emancipated Era (Charmbracelet, Emancipation of Mimi, E=MC2). Personally I like the Ellen housekeeping hairstyle the best. (Sunday 8 February 2015; 17:14)
Damage repair (49,927)
by Darryle from USA
To get back on top Mariah has to do major damage control. She needs to be in TEOM mode x10. She has got to shed the diva image and show the world that she can still sing. First and foremost she needs to nail the Vegas shows. Every single show needs to be TAOM tour worthy or better. When she's not doing Vegas she needs to be out there performing on shows like Good Morning America, The Voice, and every award show available. To shed the diva image she needs to do a tell all interview with someone like Oprah, Barbra Walters, or Matt Lauer. She has to be open about everything she's been through. Her divorce, American Idol, her most recent album's failure, her sister, Ariana Grande etc. Doing this would allow the GP to see Mariah in a different light. It'd make her seem more down to earth and approachable. Lastly she needs a wardrobe change. No more ballgowns and mermaid hair. If she does these things then there is a chance of seeing Mariah back on top. (Sunday 8 February 2015; 16:00)
Ardis (49,925)
by Dove from USA
Ardis I'm guessing you're either young or a new fan because all of that is old news. It was very shocking when it first came out, because Mariah was marketed as "squeaky clean" in the beginning. (Fresh-faced, covered up, riding her horse, etc.) By now, we've all accepted it and she's even talked about it. Not a lot, because she's always said she didn't want for her personal life to be the focus of her career. For me, it makes me like her even more knowing she isn't perfect and didn't have the perfect life. We don't know the circumstances of why her brother took her to Studio 54. Just because she was there doesn't automatically mean she was using drugs. He was probably watching her the whole time. Maybe he was watching her, but had to go to work, so instead of leaving her alone he brought her. We don't know. He was also young and immature which means he probably wasn't making the best choices at the time. I think we've all made thoughtless choices when we were younger. The thing with Alison, when people are using certain drugs, they turn into sociopaths. Meaning they don't have empathy and only care about themselves. I'm guessing she divulged that information when she was high or in desperate need of a fix. I'm sure she was a prostitute before and didn't become one only to help Mariah pay for limo rides and clothes. But she's going to frame it that way to make Mariah feel guilty so that she can get money out of her. It doesn't mean that Alison is a horrible person, at her core she's probably good. But drugs turn people into Mr. Hyde. Mariah helped Allison's kids and also tried to help her. We can't force people to get better, though, because we each have free-will to choose our own destiny. If somebody chooses to self destruct, we can offer to help them, but if they reject our help, at some point we have to let them choose their own way. Sometimes we have to cut them off to save ourselves. (Sunday 8 February 2015; 15:59)
The voice (49,924)
by Otti from Belgium
I think the [...] between Mariah and other pop singers is, that Mariah never has been a hype. If you go back to her early performances and take a look at the audiences at her concerts, most of them are adults, when she was only in her twenties. And Baby from Sweden got it right, why are concerts of Madonna, Britney or Katy always a perfect show? The answer is their concerts are from the beginning until the end fake, every song is lypsync, always the dancers, vulgarity on stage, and other things to distract the attention from real singing. Mariah, on the other hand, is just singing the whole show. She can't hide behind sexy dancers or big stage productions. When she is caught lipsync at her concert is because she wants it to. Like this part is real, this part is not. It's just her, no script. She is always honest about her voice, I remember when she did promo for E=MC2, she said 'I'm thankful, when I recorded this album my voice was in a good shape." The "We belong together" performance in Jamaica, I don't know, it's like she went back stage, but wax still singing. And not like some people are saying, that the pre recorded track kept playing. What do you think lambs? (Sunday 8 February 2015; 14:39)
Re: Edward (49,923)
by Ardis Logic from Earth
So just because someone is a known drug user you just dismiss anything they have to say? Take it with a grain of salt if you like. In my experience I have noticed that usually people who use drugs so heavily have a reason. She obviously has been through a lot in her life. I'm not saying I believe every word either, but Mariah herself has talked about negative things from her own childhood as well. So it seems as if there is some truth to her alligations.
