Re: Nick etc. (51,353) by Shezz from Pk
I agree that everything we read about Nick should not be believed and I do think he will respect the mother of his children. However, it amazes me with how much certainty you say Randy that she should have tried to work it out for her kids as if you know for a fact that she didn't. As for Mariah's physical appearance right now, she clearly looks much better when she makes a public appearance. Yes she is not nearly as fit as she has been for whatever reason but expecting her to look magazine ready when she's being photographed unknowingly on a very private vacation is a tad bit ridiculous. Appreciating her regardless and failing to tap into the depths of one's negativity does not make you an "enabler" or a "blind lamb".

Randy (51,351) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I respect your opinion so I won't try to make you change it. But I will not blame Mariah for leaving Nick just because she has abandonment issues and thus shouldn't put her kids through it. Let me first get to Nick. While I completely agree with you that it is quite possible that it is yet a tabloid made up story and Nick isn't writing a book, but that doesn't change the fact that Nick has always been known as a cheater. He cheated on his ex-girlfriends, heck he broke off his engagement to Selita at the first opportunity when MC came to his life. So I will not find it hard to believe that he cheated on Mariah too. So MC doesn't need to stay in a relation where her husband is fooling around and also at the same time talking about extremely private matters so publicly for the world to hear, when he knows very well that MC has always remained close mouthed about her life. Just because a person appears funny and friendly on TV doesn't mean he is the same behind closed doors. I think we have seen enough examples of that in Hollywood and in real life. As for her abandonment issues, that's the not the only reason she had a messed up childhood. Many other factors played in here. Her father leaving was not the only reason she has issues. Plus the world is really advanced now, kids are dealing with divorces all the time. So yes, while kids should be taken into consideration, but if your partner has no respect for your privacy and is possibly cheating on you then there is no reason to stay. A relationship is based on trust and respect. When both are not there, the relationship crumbles. Staying in it will be more unhealthy than getting out. The trust has been gone for a while now it seems because when Barbara Walters asked her if she trusts Nick, she said "sometimes". So yup, I don't know what happened between the two, but judging from Nick's past record and his big mouth, I guess we can put 2 and 2 together and figure out why she possibly decided to walk out. And I am sorry but why does MC have to be the only perfect parent? Nick is getting twerked on by girls, since news broke of them breaking up, Nick has been seen dating half a dozen girls. One needs to give respect to get respect. Nick doesn't deserve it. So no his "fun and friendly" persona is probably just for the cameras. I have personally seen many people who are loved everyone else, but only the people at their homes know their real faces.

Censoring (webmaster play fair please) (51,348) by MIAM from United Kingdom
Some of the things that get censored on here are so silly and makes it difficult for others reading to properly understand the posts. I got censored for repeating a few things other people on here had already said but they didn't get censored when they said it. Double standard much? [Webmaster: Every insult of Mariah will get censored. If sometimes I forget to censor an insult, I apologize.]

Mariah Carey: the contemporary Unplugged (51,346) by radhames from Curacao
Mariah, MTV and YouTube (or maybe with Tidal, depens on their by-then status) do a kind of joint venture-ish something. Like a new concept. And market like it's the Super Bowl. With some great sponsers so live viewers can win amazing traveling deals. And sing with her natural voice, no backing track. She, her mic, the band and the backup singers. Eventualy the choir may also present. The real voice: Mariah Carey. (4.7 octaves with 5 songs.) What do you guys think?

Nick (51,345) by Randy from USA
I'm sorry. I just can't side with most of you on Nick. Here's what I think. Mariah is intelligent enough to have not married someone who would try to make a buck off of her and tell her secrets. I've watched dozens of interviews with him and he seems like the nicest most fun-loving guy and that's what she fell in love with. He has said repeatedly, he is not going to bad mouth the mother of his children and he hasn't. I don't believe he wants any money from her. I don't believe any of this tabloid trash. I do believe this divorce is taking a long time. I do wonder why. But to me both of them have been pretty silent and he's done quite a few interviews since the split. Watching from the sidelines, it seems he was too playful and too revealing in interviews and she decided to get out. That's fine however, it kinda upsets me she didn't try to work things out since she has enough songs to fill a whole album about her father's abandonment and other family issues. She should want better for her twins. Anybody else agree with me? If I'm wrong, then I would definitely feel bad about saying this.

New manager suggestion (51,344) by 123 from USA
Mariah Carey should have Guy Oseary be her new manager. He has Madonna everywhere, collaborating with the right people on award shows, a week on Ellen performing new songs from the album. I know what some might be thinking, it would conflict with him being a manager with Madonna and wouldn't have time to handle Mariah. He also has Alicia Keys as one of his clients and he has her recording a new album and got her and Madonna a spot as part owners of Tital.

Nick, weight (51,343) by Stacey from USA
Wow, what a low-life. What's even worse is now there are kids involved. With TM, there were no kids involved. Sure, he was her boss for a few years after the divorce, tough years, but once she moved on from Sony, that was it. This time, however, for the sake of the kids I hope NC grows up. He's their father and regardless of how we feel about the guy, those kids need a dad. If he does publish a book, I hope MC's team takes him to town for defamation. As someone who has struggled with weight the past 15 years (I'm at a healthy weight, 30 lbs lighter than before my three kids thank you very much), this discussion hits close to home. For me, I want MC to be healthy. She doesn't have to be a size 6 to wow audiences. When MC dresses right and wears clothes that flatter her figure, she looks gorgeous. I find it funny this discussion comes up after she wears a wetsuit. Hello people, something like that is going to show all your curves, especially curves that come after having kids. Trust me, I've got the hips too, lol. To me this discussion is so over. Let MC be. She's not going to let herself go, especially before a big run of shows in Vegas. As long as she is eating right and exercising, like I do, she'll be just fine. Let the weight issue go.

Difficult to read (51,342) by Marcel from Montréal, Canada
Daily Mail isn't exactly trustworthy but ocassionally they write a real note but slightly exagerated lol. What gets me curious is why is MC always that afraid of what people has to say about her? It isn't nice that someone spills out your dirty nasty things or even lies, but she used to know by being a public person she did put herself in that possition. I don't believe this rumor and surely her lawyers will again stop that from happening. After visiting the 7 temples I wanted to read and it was a hard task to do: almost all of the interesting posts, like Andrew's were full of censored phrases and that's a pity because Eric I guess you're going a bit too far with your censoring, you even censored my word "management". I wrote mngmnt team but, what's the point? By the way, I am sorry that due to this messageboard's censoring I won't be able to let Abraham know what uses to go up my places. Sorry Ab, you'll have to keep on yearning to eventually get to get one, even if you'd have to pay for it. Maybe that's what you need in order to stop being that annoyingly "positive" and start facing reality.

Mariah doesn't care (51,341) by Rene from US
I do agree with some of you of how Mariah Carey doesn't care. She has not recorded music in a while. She has not toured at all. She has not appeared in any of the day shows. She is not doing anything special for her 25th anniversary that marks her career. It's like she has sang herself into oblivion. Newsflash: The ones that don't care are these individuals who pretend to be fans. How pathetic to troll on this website and criticize Mariah so harshly. I want to see you guys flashing your stomachs to see how fit you are. If you don't like her, move on. Some of you sound like children wanting a perfect little Barbie to look at.

Positivity and honesty (51,340) by Ardis Logic from Earth
I stick by my original post, and obviously many here agree with me. If you don't agree, that is fine too. I am not an enabler by the way. If you read my posts from the past you will see that I have also showed tough love to Mariah. I will continue to bring the positivity and honesty. "They can say anything they want to say, try to bring me down, but I will not allow, anyone to succeed hanging clouds over me, and they, can try hard to make me feel that I, don't matter at all, but I refuse to falter in what I believe or lose faith in my dreams. Because there's a light in me, that shines brightly. They can try, but they can't take that away from me."

Nick's "Tell All" (51,339) by Chicago Lamb from USA
There will be no expose about their marriage. Without a doubt he signed an agreement to keep his mouth shut for some years. It's pretty common in celebrity pre-nups.

Teens react to 90's music (51,338) by Lee TS from USA
These kids are making me feel hella old. Although One Sweet Day is Mariah's longest #1, I don't feel it's her most notable hit. But yeah, watch how these kids are deprived from knowing Mariah. Cute moment.

Success / Jono, Bill, Abraham (51,336) by LC from USA
Thank you guys for all the positive responses to my comment. I'm happy that so many lambs agree with me about the overwhelming negativity some "fans" have been posting on here. It's really getting out of hand. But, let's move on from that. I trust that professional and experienced managers, promoters, label executives, personal trainers, makeup artists, and publicists teamed with one of the most prolific, successful, and best singer-songwriters of all time know more about the music industry and what will ensure Mariah's success than some "fans" who think they know everything. Am I worried/anxious for her, or concerned about some things? Do I wish she was doing more promo or trying to be more liked by the public? Do I want her to look her best for the upcoming shows? Yes. But, no one wants Mariah Carey to be successful more than Mariah Carey does. And I trust that she's doing her best. MC will succeed one way or another.

Book deal (51,335) by Alex from United States
If this isn't true Nick Cannon needs to speak up fast and let the world know because if it is true I'm disgusted. No man, father would ever degrade the mother of his children like this. My stomach still turns when I think of Nick's father's tweet after their separation. Whatever that was didn't feel right then and this doesn't feel right now. I honestly would be shocked if it were true. Say what you want about Nick Cannon this would be a new low. You'd have to be a real slimy pig to be that cruel. I have hope and faith that Mariah has her legal game on lock and she was prepared for this before the marriage.

Nick (51,333) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Cannon boy should be sued for all he is worth if he plans to write that book. I don't know if the rumors are true (it does seem possible) but if it is, I hope she shows him what he is worth. I am glad the news came out, it'll show the world what a gold digger he is because he keeps trying to portray and image that he is so nice and a great dad and indirectly gives off the vibes that he left MC because she's a crazy diva. He's a cheater, always has been. Even Christina Milian discovered that and he immediately left Selita for Mariah, obviously he saw where the money was. If Mariah owes him anything (which she does not) I'd say she has paid more than enough. She paid by making him who he is today, because only as Mr Carey did Nick get the fame he boasts of today. She paid by having her career ruined because she eloped in the middle of the follow up of her huge comeback and eventually losing out a lot in the name of love only to get cheated upon. MC is an unfit mother? Well atleast we don't see her being twerked upon by 3 women at the same time and hanging around who*** like Amber Rose and the new girl. MC said stuff about other artists? Well at least she didn't disrespect her spouse multiple times in the media. Nick just needs his name attached to MC because that is the only thing that helps his career. Now that the articles about MC being devastated by the divorce and insecure about Nick's new playmates are dying out and we mainly see a smiling and happy MC, Nick figured his time is up so he decides to blast her with this.

Lawyer (51,331) by B from USA
Hello, Mariah's lawyer got her $49 million from Virgin for a an album that flopped. I hope she takes him for every dime he's made while being married to her. He is never going to get custody away from her. Her lawyers will eat him alive. He cheated and I bet there is a clause in their pre-nup that stipulates that either party cheats they get nothing. A common practice in the music industry and Hollywood. I knew she wasn't stupid. She had a prenup drawn up because even though she had her blinders on she knew his reputation.

Baby (51,329) by B from USA
I adore you. Nick is trash. If this is true he's just going to rehash things that have been out for quite some time. Mariah has a problem with alcohol, Mariah never wanted kids, she's insecure, her voice isn't what it used to be. How desperate. He knows that now that the marriage is over his only claim to fame is being Mariah's baby daddy. So he's looking for a payday. I highly doubt this book gets published. Mariah may be terrible at managers but she's got the best lawyer in the industry.

I found nothing insulting or offensive in Ty's post. He's obviously a loyal fan who wants the best for Mariah. Nothing wrong with him wanting Mariah looking like a hot mama. I do too. You completely overreacted. And the 22 thumbs up is a joke. Obviously more than one person gave one too many. Thank you for that fabulous post LC. Spot on.

Sleeping with the enemy (51,326) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
Who wants to bet Thirsty a.k.a. Nickelodeon has stans that troll Mariah friendly zones all in these Internet streets? It's so fucking obvious because the Mariah bashing is always done in tandem like they all get a daily memo about what shit to start. Notice how they will never take up for Mariah but somehow always manage to justify defending the side of whomever is currently against her. Let's see who has the audacity to claim lambhood and finagle sympathy for Nick at Nite's Rapaciousness. Yesterday is over, today I won't suffer fools who dare give any credence to that piece of gutter trash masquerading as literature. Team Mariah better sue this male version of Heather Mills. Ugh, just when you forgot he even existed, any woman who willingly deals with this sociopathic douche after this has at least had fair warning. Something Mariah, unfortunately didn't. I'm praying the divorce is coming to a book end very soon. Amen.

Response to Andrew (51,325) by ADAM from USA
Thanks for your post Andrew, I always looks forward to what you have to say about MC's recent events. I agree with you. With the Vegas gig coming up I thought she'd take steps to change the perception of what the public has of her as a has-been and someone whose lost their voice but to no avail. I'm not expecting her to be a size 0 or anything but the totality of her behavior has not changed to deter me from expecting the worst. I stand by my POV that she doesn't care anymore about her image, fans, nor success. I think her heart's not in it and it's been showing for many years. She's completely out of touch with reality and expects her followers to shell out $$$ for her in a month from now. I think she believes her own hype and self medicates with alcohol or food over the pain of her lost vocal abilities, not divorce. Everyone including her goes through heartbreak but I don't believe in this instance it's the root of her problems. She was like this before Nick. The part of all this that hurts me most is her using her fans. The only that still are here are here from her legacy days and when she was genuine. She uses those ties to cash in on our loyalty and I think it's wrong. She shouldn't perform shows lip syncing nor have a diva antic when in public. As a rule this kind of behavior shouldn't be tolerated and she should be called out and reprimanded if she does it in Vegas.

25th year anniversary (51,324) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I do hope that Edward is right and we are indeed going to be bombarded with surprises from Mariah's camp. This is her 25th year in the business, I hope it doesn't go to waste and I pray that nothing happens that tarnishes her status any further. I would really love a surprise documentary. Surprise skits that will go viral and surprise collaborations with current artists. I hope MC has come out of her shell and realized that she is a legend so she doesn't have to feel threatened by younger female artists and that it wouldn't harm her to collaborate with them. Most importantly, I hope that she's in pip condition (vocally) for her Vegas residency. This is her chance to get her throne back and erase all the bad publicity she got in the last few years. People have a short attention span nowadays so if she manages to slay this time, whatever happened before will be forgotten by people or at least the hate will come more diluted.
