Thirsty (43,555) by Ender (602) from USA
Yes, heard the whole song and it's hot. I love street Mariah. Perfect song for the summer. Listen here lambs.

"Thirsty" is thirsting for some "Long Ago" off of "Daydream" vocals (43,554) by John from USA
I like the song, although it will take a few more listens before I fully get into it. Oddly enough the song's dynamics and tempo changes remind me of Long Ago from the Daydream CD. To me that song was vocal perfection (as is virtually all of Daydream's cuts). "Thirst" plus "Long Ago"-style vocals would've constituted major slayage.

Are you thirsty? (43,553) by Andrew crisostomo from Canada, niagara falls
I like the version without the rapper. I think some fan "critics" aren't showing so much love for the song because they are Mariah traditionalists. In a way I am too like we all are. Not used to this style. Songs aight, don't like it as a single. Although it would do good on the charts I believe. I hope it's just released and not an official single like TAOLG. I like it though even though because I'm very thirsty for some Mariah.

Thirsty (43,552) by Stacey from USA
I know many like her rap collabos, and sometimes I do too. However, I always like when she puts out the song with just her and then the rap is featured on a remix. It's nice. I'm not liking the trend with the cuss words, but that's just me. Remember, I listen to this stuff a lot with my kids in the car, so a clean version (remember Edward, lol) would be nice. I can't help but think as I listen to it, the song is a reminder to Nick to keep it in check. Maybe the divorce rumors are true. I hope not. Time will tell. Nice song. Catchy beat. This is the kind of song the GP will request on the radio.

Fans (43,551) by G.G. from USA
True fans this, real fans that. That is the problem. Some folks agree with everything Mariah says and does. MC needs real, honest people with thoughts of their own around her to give constructive criticism. Not just "yes" people. I love Mariah, but I will not pretend to like something I don't. She needs honest people with their own ideas and concepts to tell her the truth. I had such high hopes for this album. I've heard five of the songs now and I've only liked one. It's not looking good. She needs to regroup and get a completely new team around her from top to bottom. If she still wants to sell albums, she has to be a little more flexible and adapt.

Negativity (43,550) by Eternal from Italy
Mariah really can't get a break. She has two groups of lambs: the first group loves her pop and adult contemporary stuff, like #Beautiful, Hero, etc, and are likely to be the older fans. The second group likes her newer stuff post-Mottola, with the hip hop and R&B grooves, like Obsessed, Touch My Body. Adding to this she also has to appeal to the public and achieve mainstream success. She has to keep her old fan base yet try to reach new, younger listeners, which is tough competition in an industry that favors 20-somethings. Mariah herself prefers the hip hop stuff; she has more than once mentioned in interviews this year how she still wants to make that kind of hip hop records that make her happy. She has managed to somehow combine the best of both worlds to make a song that is equal parts hip-hop, R&B, and a club banger and people are now questioning why she's still doing hip hop. This is the genre she has always fought for since the early days, and eventually led to the end of her first marriage, why should she intentionally change the kind of music she makes just to blend in with current trends? It's her album, it's her songs. Just because one declares oneself a lamb doesn't give one a right to slam the song within hours of its release, claiming flop or whatever. It's 1 song off an album of 14 tracks. There's a song for every kind of listener. Say you're not feeling it, but stop picking at everything.

Thirsty (43,549) by Lee from UK
Ok, I finally have access to Thirsty. I wish I could say it was worth the wait. It could literally have been sung by anyone with vocal chords (it may as well have been Rhianna singing it). I hope this is not indicative of the rest of the album.

Illegal downloading (43,548) by Lee from UK
No wonder so many people choose to illegally download music. What's the point of releasing a song if it can only be bought or heard in certain countries? The only version of Thirsty I can hear is the sped up versions on YouTube which make Mariah sound like Rhianna.

Great (43,547) by Orkun from The Netherlands
I've been very critical usually. But Thirsty is a banger. Finally. Well done Mariah.

Cover / promo pics (43,546) by Shezz from Pk
So it doesn't take a keen eye to notice that Mimi has been using pics from a year ago when she was in great shape for album, single covers etc. Just read a comment on twitter likening her pics to out of date Grindr pics which I found funny. I don't have a problem with old pics but it makes people think she's photoshopped herself to shape when she actually was in that shape a year ago.

Big ballad (43,545) by Licia from USA
Did people really think a song named "Thirsty" was going to be a ballad? Seriously? Of all the songs on the tracklist Thirsty is the last song I would think would be a ballad or even a mid tempo song.

Sounds of Summer (43,544) by Mara from United States
Sorry but this song is hot. I can imagine hearing this walking the boardwalk or driving with the windows down. I am no teenager and I think it appeals to me and the younger people that are buying the music today. Some people are just never satisfied. Everyone was saying she needs to release Thirsty and how excited for a club song they were, how we didn't need another slow one, well, what did you think a song with the title Thirsty would sound like? It's a new term the younger kids are using and Mariah is a business woman. She knows what she is doing. I think she can never seem to please everyone. The song is a grower, listen to it a few times before you come on here and bash it or make a final opinion. Imagine hearing it on the radio a lot. Minds will change. Mariah clearly got some things off her chest with the lyrics of this song. How anyone can question who this song is about is beyond me. I love it.

Divalamb (43,543) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I completely agree. If I remember currently half of this board was begging Mariah to release the hit boy track. There were numerous posts asking for Thirsty to be released since the day Mariah mentioned it on the radio interview. People were well aware that this was a club banger and has been trashing Mariah for not releasing a up beat song to take over summer, followed by mourning the non-release of Migrate. So now when she finally does what you all ask for you just can't be satisfied. One can't claim that she has been releasing the same type of songs from this album and say that this album will suck, she has bad songs. Nope, on the contrary, she has been releasing different types of songs. The raw ballads, the 70s throwback, the rnb and now the club banger. I don't think anything she releases will satisfy some people here. I liked both versions of the song. Others complaining about the production, well it's a club song, obviously we should expect heavy production. It's frustrating to hear lambs dissing everything she releases. You guys can't decide whether you want a ballad, a club song, an rnb/hip hop track or whatever.

This is why Mariah wanted to not release a single (43,542) by Me. I am Carly from USA
I just can't anymore, laughing so hard at people saying she promised big ballads and thirsty is R&B silly rabbit, the album isn't out yet, you don't have a clue what is or isn't on it.

Shezz from Pk (43,541) by Gilbert from USA
What's funny is that is the version I've been listening to this whole time. I heard a guy in the background but i didn't hear any rapping. What we all need to do is just agree to disagree here, I was so surprised from all the negative responses and it's only been out less than an hour or so (at least since I've heard it) and I think it's a really great song compared to what's been released. I support it. Thirsty Thirsty Thirsty.

Here comes the negativity (43,540) by Sunshine Divalamb from Germany
Some should really be ashamed. It's not only the song some of you are negative about but about almost everything, maybe some should think to find another artist to admire because it's getting old, you just already know beforehand who is going to be the first to complain smh. I have no problem that some are negative, but the song isn't even out for 24 hours or that we heard a clean clear version and you are already bashing it into the ground. Mariah is a perfectionist and some songs need some listens before you love it, but to throw it in the trash like some are doing is not showing that you are a fan at all.

Okay so who is Thirsty about? (43,539) by TR from USA
Eminem? Lol. But seriously. I can imagine it's about Nick, but probably not haha. Definitely ain't about Derek, Luis, or Tommy.

Thirsty album version (43,538) by Shezz from Pk
Ok so this is the album version, revolt.tv has it up. Definitely liking Mimi being the only one featured. Cant get the chorus out of my head but there are a lot of parts that non lambs will find incoherent. Power 105 played the remix. Not complaining but I wish there were more parts of full voice singing. Top 20 material. Which is great for Mariah considering what's been happening.

Paul from the USA and Nina from the USA (43,537) by Carlos Jaramillo from USA
I'm with you, guys. I was so excited when she mentioned that "this album would have a lot more raw ballads than most people would expect" because it just got me thinking, will this be the album I've been waiting for since Butterfly (because, even though TEOM was amazing, her "ballads" there were more, hiphop/R&B'ish vs. the full instrumentation driven ballads she conjured in the 90's). These last few songs she's put out, though not chart toppers, and people talking a lot of caca about them, I really appreciated. It brought back Mariah the "singer". Thirsty is totally Triumphant 2.0 though, it's actually a good "song". It's just not a "Mariah song", and that's what worries me. She has become a music "machine" and not in the positive sense. I miss her.

You can listen to the rap free version here. I personally like it better than the rap version.

Thirsty cover (43,535) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
The cover art for Thirsty (which I saw on Mariah Carey Network) I guess is from the You're Mine music video. She's wearing the same cloth covering the lower half of her body and has a chest covered. I think I noticed the top in the video too but she pretended she was topless.

I rather see Mariah flop with quality music than her following trends (43,534) by J from USA
Sorry but Thirsty was dry. What is this? You all are happy because it reminds you of Migrate? This isn't 2008 anymore. I'm not one of those fans that is never satisfied but this is not the music I want from Mariah. This song does not sound any different from what is out on radio right now in the R&B field. Mariah doesn't have anything to prove anymore but in her mind she does. She wants to remain relevant, she wants to have a hit but at what cost? Where is the Mariah who was relatable in her music? Almost Home, TAOLG flopped but I prefer those songs to anything out on the radio because they have a message, that is quality music right there. I am still supporting this album but judging from the 3 songs that have been released I already know this album will be another attempt at Mariah seeking relevancy on the charts. I don't have an issue either with Mariah being sexy at 44, if you got it flaunt it, but this isn't the type of music a 44 year old woman should be making, talking like she's 20. Leave that crap for Rihanna or Ariana.

Thirsty (43,533) by RJJ12 from USA
Just what the doctor ordered. I love the beat and the catchy hook. I love the harmonies with the layered vocals. It's a great summer song. Shocked to see people not likening it, considering everyone complained that the borefest Migrate was never released. This is light years better. It is just one song, a club song at that. There won't be a big vocal on it. There is a no rap version were her vocals are a lot clearer, listening to it now. I actually liked the rap feature, unexpected but he fit on the song. Bring on the album.
