I had to share this, it describes most of my childhood (49,381) by B from USA
The only difference is I didn't perm my hair. However, I did dye my hair orange and shaved my eyebrows because I read she did that when she was a kid, and the results were bleak.

Deborah Cox (49,380) by B from USA
I love Deborah's voice but I only like two of her songs: Nobody's Supposed To Be Here and Same Script, Different Cast her duet with Whitney Houston. Did anyone watch Lifetime's Whitney bio pic with Ms. Cox singing Whitney's songs? It was awful because she's no Whitney. Maybe Mariah could cover Same Script, Different Cast with her doing Deborah's parts. Imagine if Mariah and Whitney has sang that instead of When You Believe, it would have been huge.

Giorgio Moroder (49,378) by Dove from USA
I woke up with the songs of Hot Stuff and Heart Of Glass on my mind, then I went on Twitter and saw that Giorgio Moroder is doing an album with contributers. Wouldn't it be cool if he redid YDKWTD and Meteorite, or a new song for his album?

Butterfly concert video (49,377) by Darryle from USA
Today I found an old video of the Butterfly concert filmed in Japan that seems to be an official recording of the tour. Does anyone know of an official filmed Butterfly tour? The one I found is simply titled Butterfly World Tour - Tokyo. There's no shaky camera movements or talking during the video. There are cutaways and even a beginning title. At first I thought it the Around The World video but it's not. Does anyone know if there was a scrapped Butterfly tour video?

Re: Jon post (49,374) (49,376) by Dove from USA
Sometimes I feel like I'm biased, because I like every Mariah song, but everyone who listened to #Beautiful at my house or in my car liked it. I don't think the song was the problem. I like You're Mine (Eternal) a lot on the album, but I agree with you in that I don't think it should have been a single. I think Thirsty should have been the second (or first) single. I like YDKWTD but I don't think it would have done well if it was released first. If she wants to do disco she needs to go to Giorgio Moroder. When you hear a Donna Summer song, you can feel it, it makes you stop everything you're doing because you need to dance. YDKWTD had potential, but it didn't go all the way, I didn't feel it. The problem was the music/production not her vocals. Her vocals were perfect. That's just my opinion.

Next studio album (49,375) by Dove from USA
I want for Mariah to release a jazz album and a standards album, too, but later on. I hope her next studio album is mainstream with really cool songs on it.

YDKWTD (49,374) by Jon from Netherlands

Someone posted this on youtube. Scarce resources (from this era) but a good job putting a video together. The song is a gem. It makes me think how Rainbow was made just so she could release Heartbreaker. That's how good that song is and I feel the same about YDKWTD. The song deserved a great video with Mariah playing a confident, emancipated woman with a great party feel to it. Visually I imagine something like Breakdown. I could see something really epic about this because the lyrics are so confident. Her acting could be like in Shake It Off but more energetic. Releasing that horrible song [...] has a single and messing with different possible second singles when they could have just released this is a really bad sign. If Mariah really believed [...] could have any sort of success in today's radio world she lost touch with what people are listening to (and that's something she always had in her favour). Anyway didn't want to be negative, it's done now. Just wanted to celebrate this wonderful song.

Abraham (49,373) by Dove from USA
I think this is the version of Nobody's Supposed To Be Here you're talking about. When I was listening to the studio version, in my mind I could hear Mariah singing it in her '98 raspy voice. The way she sounded when she sang If Only You Knew/Somewhere Over the Rainbow. I would like to hear Mariah sing more up tempo dance tracks. In this video, Deborah Cox wasn't doing any choreographed dance movements, but her body was open and loose and it still looked good.

Mariah on tv-show (49,371) by NHYTG from nyc
Tonight Mariah's Las Vegas shows were an item on a Dutch entertainment show called RTL Boulevard. Unfortunately the host was kind of disrespectful about Mariah. Again it was clear how many people here in the Netherlands look at Mariah these days.

[...] (49,370) by ksquarred from paris
Hello guys. Someone posted on the board a rare picture of MC in NYC before she released her first album. She can be seen drinking milkshakes if I remember correctly, with two girl friends, including her former roommate (the one with the short blond hair). I've been searching through the board but there are too many messages and I can't find it anymore. I would like to make a sweatshirt with that pic. Does anyone have it? Thank you in advance.

New sound (49,369) by Dove from USA
It would also be exciting if MC worked with people she's never worked with before and surprised everyone with a new sound.

Missy Elliot (49,368) by B from USA
I would love for Mariah and Missy to write together again. Babydoll is one of my favorite songs and it's obviously one of Mariah's too. She named her publishing company Beyond Idolization, lol. I would also love for Mariah to work with Deborah Cox, Babyface, and Toni Braxton. I hope Mariah leaves JD and Cox in 2014. Mariah needs new producers and collaborators that can update her sound. She doesn't need to do something radical, she just needs to update her sound. I also think she needs to embrace EDM. I want her to work with Calvin Harris on an uptempo banger that showcases her voice a la Emotions. I like the idea of a duets album but not at this time, she's still too relevant for that and it won't do her any favors.

It's Like That you all (49,367) by enwar00 from usa

Can you believe it's been 10 whole years since this song first debuted? I still remember first hearing it on the radio, then first hearing it at the club, there was such a buzz and excitement around it, it just seemed right. I feel like it's somewhat forgotten because of what exploded after it, but I love it, especially with the video, and always remember the feeling that this is what kicked started that massive Mimi year. For you #5 theorists out there, I hope you're right, that would be fun.

Mariah and Missy Elliot collaboration (49,366) by Ethan from United States
It'd be great to see/hear their work again. It's been magic since Babydoll and Heartbreaker (the remix). I think it'll be a hit since Missy has been MIA for a while. I hope that there will be a song on the updated #1s CD with them two.

Camron raps about MC (49,365) by Lee TS from USA
Came across this blog through YouTube and it has the rundown of their friendship. So basically Camron imitated they were lovers. Sigh, why would he do that? Oh dear.

I was just making that duets list for fun. The #1's with new music is enough for now.

Ethan / Vogue (49,363) by G.G. from USA
I agree with you. Like it or not, we live in a very visual time. Mariah needs an A list stylist, great hair, make-up and clothes at all times. Also a new, innovative choreographer for the Vegas shows. High budget videos and stage performances. Nothing that looks cheap. Please God, I hope she doesn't lay down on a piano or a chaise lounge anymore or have any "diva moments" where a stylist comes out to touch up her makeup/hair. Those "moments" got old a long time ago. It's time to reenergize and gain some positive momentum.

I'm probably just being overly sensitive. In my first post to you, it does seem like I'm attacking you, and I'm sorry about that. Most of the time I don't let things get to me but sometimes they still do. I can't honestly say that I've never been rude to anyone on here so it's totally okay. I'm sorry, too, for attacking you.

#1 CD (49,361) by Ethan from United States
I'm surprised that the re-recordings/duets idea generated such a strong discussion when I brought it up. I definitely don't think it's happening. I was just kidding at that time. I'll be surprised in a good way if it happens. All I hope is this CD will include 7 new songs, which will equal to 25 songs to celebrate her 25th anniversary. That's all. The Colosseum is very intimate. It's a theater so no matter where you sit, it's a great view. My seats are at Orchestra 3, row JJ (it's like row 9 or 10) so it's great nonetheless. In my opinion, I don't really like the first 3-5 rows because it will hurt my neck from looking up the entire time.

Mariah's Vogue article (49,359) by Ethan from United States
Did anyone see this article on Vogue? It's time for Mariah to be very glamorous and stylish around. When TEOM came out, her ensembles were chic and she had Andre Leon Talley around here. I remember seeing her images on magazine's best dress lists and stuff. Remember that one outfit she wore to an event with LA Reid and met Tommy and his wife there? And then the next day she arrived in Paris in this nude color dress and both made the best dress list that week. Her videos from TEOM were classics as well. Bring back Bret Ratner. Anyway, looking from her Ellen's appearance, I hope she will become a style icon and graces magazine's covers again, especially American Vogue. If whatever her name West made it, so could Mariah.

Duets and covers album (49,358) by Isabelle from USA
I don't like that most of you all are suggesting that Mariah should be doing a duets album of previous recorded material or that she should release a compilation of the duets she recorded in her career. I think that's just a waste of time, no one was really here for the two remixes on MIAMTEC/Angels Advocate singles nor they the Ballads compilation album. I don't think Mariah should be thinking about creating any type of duets covers album anytime soon, if she does I would like her to have original material for that album, so people and critics won't be just comparing and then criticizing her version of the song.

Ms. Shelly (49,357) by Chris from United States
Okay, I'm going to put a halt on this. After reading your last post, I've come to realize that maybe I was quite offensive to you, or anyone that puts the lists out there. If I offended you, then I apologize. No excuse, but I didn't even realize it was offensive as I was tying it. In fact, judging by your posts, I can tell you are a kind natured, sweet woman, and I would never want you to feel like I put you down, or am bullying you. That's not my style. I would never want anyone to feel like they can't post on here freely, because I've been there with this site. After a while, it becomes easier to dish it back.

Abraham (49,356) by Dove from USA
Thank you Abraham. I think I have heard Nobody's Supposed To Be Here by Deborah Cox but I'm thinking it was before 2003. I remember hearing it at a car wash in Junior High, if it's the one I'm thinking. I'll look it up when I get home. I've discovered a lot of good music through you guys. Somebody mentioned Sam Smith a while ago and I liked him, the Diana Ross songs someone mentioned I liked.

Danny (49,355) by Luke from United Kingdom
I'm not overly keen on Vision Of Love either. However, I think at the time it was released there was nothing else like it which is why it was such a big hit. I prefer Vanishing much more. Her BET performance of VOL in 2005 was amazing though and is probably the version I listen to the most.
