All things Mariah (41,656) by Jay from USA I don't think that Ariana is in denial. She may very well be trying to distance herself from being compared to Mariah so much. as a new artist, even as young as her, she wants to be her own person, just like Mariah wanted to be when she started out and Columbia/Sony steered her in a certain direction. What I did find curious is that she mentioned that she is influenced by Destiny Child's vocal runs. Who does she think influenced them? It's like she is trying too hard not to seem like "mini Mariah". Anyway, I haven't heard her album at all but I do like the songs I've heard. I hope she grows into her own. I cant wait for Mariah's new album to come out. and I'm very curious to hear Thirsty. (Monday 24 February 2014; 4:50)

Tracklist / hair / music business (41,655) by G.G. from USA I don't think the tracklisting is all that accurate. The producers on the songs don't go together. YME was produced by Rodney Jerkins, and it says The Dream. Regarding her hair; I 100% think it's time for a different color, length and style for MC. Something fresh and new. Shorter for sure, she can always put in extensions from time to time if she wants. I think her hair needs to be a little darker. She's had the bleached blonde style forever now. I think that if she does release the Stevie Wonder track as a single it should be the last single off the album. I can almost bet my life that a Stevie Wonder collaboration will not chart well. I do care about the charts. If Mariah keeps releasing singles that don't chart well she won't get a good deal with a new label when she leaves IDJ, and worse, she might get dropped from the new label if her singles don't chart. A hair cut would scream confident (41,654) by Me. I am Carly from USA Cutting your hair is a statement in a way, it usually says that you are confident enough to change. I think it would look great on M if was shoulder length (keep in mind she could always put in some fake hair if she hates it as she has always used pieces) but more than anything I think it would be good for Mariah as a person to take a chance and that it would be seen in a positive light in the media. Her hair was quite short in the few years before she made her first, album and was cute. (Monday 24 February 2014; 1:05)

The coming album, and the next (41,653) by Edward from USA I strongly believe that Mariah can't wait to get the hell out IDJ's roster. I also think that after she puts this album out, the next one won't take long, since she has recorded so many songs, and I don't think she'll give the best of what she has written to a record label she thinks is not supporting her. If Mariah were still very popular, she wouldn't have to go out of her way to promote, but since she's not, she's going to have to sing for her life should she want this album to have a chance at some decent sales. The interview with Ralphie was the best she's done so far for this era, it wasn't about the dahling's, head lights, puppies, Nick, Nicki, or dem babies; it was about the music. Thirsty (41,652) by B from USA I hope and pray that Thristy is chosen as the third single. #Beautiful was a midtempo, You're Mine (Eternal) is a ballad, and Thirsty is an uptempo(HitBoy or Mike Will Made It production, most likely a club banger with a hard hitting beat). Thirsty the title makes me think it's a diss record. Mariah has written some great diss records like Clown and Obsessed. (Monday 24 February 2014; 0:31)

Ariana Grande: Yours Truly? or is it just a Daydream? (41,651) by Tory from Australia You can't put the blame on her for recreating Mariah's sound. Obviously she is young and very new to the industry, it would be her team (writers, producers etc) that are moulding her image. What's sad is that the producers that worked on "Yours Truly", namely Babyface, would intentionally do that. To have worked with Mariah on classics like "Melt Away" and "When You Believe" and then turn around and mould this new girl as Daydream era Mariah. I would consider that a slap in the face. It makes it worse when Ariana denies it. Funny, in her pre-Grammy interview, she talked about the comparisons to Mariah and defended herself by saying "when you're new you have to be compared to someone". True. Mariah said the same thing in an 1991 interview when someone asked her about Whitney Houston. The thing about Whitney and Mariah is that right off the bat (at least in my opinion) they had a completely different sound and style. If there was any confusion it would be because they both worked with the same producers on their debut albums. After that, they became their own artist and as Whitney said herself "Mariah should be known as Mariah, for her work." They had similar tones, but their style and songs were different. Ariana's style is too similar to Mariah's that no-one can deny it. Lest we forget they were going to name her album "Daydreamin'" *eyeroll* (Monday 24 February 2014; 0:28)

BET (41,647) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter First ever performance of YME (not counting the Eiffel Tower one) is almost here. So excited. I hope the performance brings positive (and no negativity due to the alleged lip synch) reviews and more attention to the song. Finally the infamous black dress performance only a diva of Mariah's level can pull off. I hope this isn't the last of YME performances we see though. The execs at IDJ obviously see Mariah as a product that is past its sell by date. She isn't. Hello, "Beautiful" peaked at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100 and at #3 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Tracks Chart in the United States. Interview with Ralphie Aversa (41,643) by Eternal from Italy I watched the interview with Ralphie and it seems Mariah's team must have got wind of our recent complaints over her diva antics and erratic blabberings during interviews. She actually sounds composed, coherent, informative, humble and most important of all, nice. Obviously she still keeps her funny moments but it's all under control and for once she's not talking about her dogs giving birth or whatever. She gave lots of info about the new album and its delays, the producers she worked with, and just this whole "journey" of the new album. Good work Mariah, I can't wait to hear this journey. What the new album will sound like (41,642) by Antonio from Spain In her latest interview, Mimi has stated that the album would have uptempo songs and also the typical ''miserable'' Mariah songs that we all love, at least I do. I hope they're in the line of ''Petals'', ''Looking In'' and ''Languishing''. She said she worked with several producers who worked with her on TEOM, so I have high expectations about what the new album will sound like. As for now, I quite like all the singles she has released (including Triumphant), #Beautiful was very innovative, and it sounded great, TAOLG sounded good as well, the song has really grown on me, with YM(E), it's fun, I like the video as well, but it's definitely not one of my favourite Mariah songs, not at all. I really don't care about Mariah not having more number ones as long as we still have good music. Oh, and I'm sad TAOLG is not the album title, because to me, it was a beautiful title. Stevie collab (41,639) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I don't think that's a good idea. Even though the collabo will be epic and all, but Mariah really needs the next single to be upbeat and the type which sounds like a party starter. Only then the radios will pick it up, the newer generation will get curious about the album and it can also be a club hit. The next single needs to definitely be a more club friendly song, something she collaborated on with people who are currently hot favorite writers/producers. Glitter (41,638) by Darryle from USA I just watched Glitter for the first time ever and I have to say I love it. I have no idea why that movie did so bad. Mariah was great in it and so was everyone else. I love the soundtrack that goes with it too. I just got that yesterday and it's amazing. I don't know why Mariah was ashamed of Glitter in the beginning because it was honestly a fantastic movie. It had scenes that made me laugh like Da Brat dancing, scenes that made me gasp like Billie slapping Dice, and scenes that made me get emotional like when Billie saw her mom again. Ariana Grande (41,637) by Ms. Giselle from USA That "V Magazine" interview, she is so delusional. When I listen to that album all I hear is Daydream album no shade. Her producer even admitted they were going for '90's Mariah' sound. That's what makes me only like her about 75% out of 100. If she were honest and just admit that. Her and her people/label swagger jacked MC's sound/video image (90's era). I just can't with this girl, I think that's why MC doesn't and won't embrace her and the many before her. Beyonce, Christina A (post Genie), Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson, Jessica Simpson, Delta Goodrem, Rihanna, Pink just a few singers who were influenced in some way by Mariah yet don't and didn't swagger jack her sound/style. Collabo with Stevie (41,634) by ZachSingsMariah from USA Honestly, while Stevie Wonder may not fit into the industry models for what's "young" and "current", I think if he and MC have made a song together then that is hands-down the best choice for the next single. I mean, can it really get better than Stevie and Mariah crooning an immoecabble ballad (presumably titled "I'll Still Be Around", a name which I adore already) together? Artistry not completed (41,632) by Blake from USA We all know when an artist peaks its a sad day, but MC has not peaked despite all the negativity on this board. If anyone in this biz can come back it's MC. In the words of L.A. Reid "Mariah simply has more talent than anyone else in this business." I agree and I am not counting her out yet. Yes she is not 25, easy to deal with but in the end her music completes me. Her artistry is not done for the books to be written. I don't care about the myths of radio and beating The Beatles. You're Mine (Eternal) (41,626) by B from USA You're Mine (Eternal) is the second single from the album. The Art Of Letting Go was never serviced to radio and was not an official single. I'm sick of reading it. TAOLG was released to the fans for the fans. #Beautiful featuring Miguel was the first single and You're Mine is the second single. You're Mine (Eternal) is the perfect follow up to #Beautiful. It's a beautiful ballad with universal lyrics that anyone can relate to. The video is beautiful. Yes, Mariah is showing skin but can you blame her? She looks amazing. As long as she looks half her age, I have no problem with her showing her body. She works hard to look that good.
