I stayed up to watch it and it was worth it to see the crowd sing along and Mariah in void spirits. Also, Roc and Roe are almost old enough to join the chorus line. Wouldn't that be awesome? Tree lighting (48,193) by Darryle from USA I think Mariah did pretty well at the tree lighting. Sure the vocals weren't perfect and you could tell that at some points she was struggling but she pulled it off. Considering the fact that her jacket/mic pack fell off and her earpiece wasn't in I'd say she did great. It was probably hard to perform with all the technical difficulties. Mariah at Christmas lighting performance (48,189) by ADAM from USA Wow. That was really rough. Obviously she was experiencing audio issues, because she fell behind the track the entire performance. What I don't understand is why she was out of breath the entire performance as if she ran a marathon and then was asked to sing immediately afterwards? I was rooting for her but even non-lambs in my household were like "that was worse than karaoke". Everyone else tonight sang live normal in the same weather and technical issues MC. So before some fans attack me, let's be fair. I really am confused at the state of her voice nowadays. I think moments like this, where there is no trickery she can use to cover up her mistakes like during concerts or pre-tapping performances or studio re-takes is what her voice really is like - no question. On the bright side, she looked amazing. I love the dress and the hair and accessories in red, and even more so what she wore in black during the rehearsal photos. The photos of her wearing black wit the long coat and dress and glasses reminded me of 'Forever". Very pretty look. In closing, even though my rant is ragging on her vocals, I rather have her sing live in her natural voice and strain hitting those high/long notes vs. lip syncing to a track from 1994. Rockefeller performance (48,188) by Jono from USA I have to be honest, the Mariah that showed up was the one from the opening night of her Elusive Chanteuse performance, not the one that gathered steam in the end. The difficult thing about AIWFCIY is that it's predominantly chest voice, which we can all admit sounded way better in 1994 than 2014. It's been a long time since she's performed live, so it's nice to see her doing something that's not pre-taped and have people slam her for lip syncing. That being said, she has to get used to performing live again, and tonight was a sign of nerves. That being said, AIWFCIY is a difficult song to sing for anyone so at least she did her best. She's just going to be inevitably compared to her old self. I hope this doesn't hurt her confidence because I believe she's still got it. (Thursday 4 December 2014; 2:16)

NBC: diva missing (48,181) by Carol from Spain I don't believe Mariah didn't show up on purpose, it's all speculation. She being late it's normal, it's Mariah Carey we're talking about, remember? I'm sorry for the fans who waited hours for her, I understand. But instead, fans earned a live performance tonight. People pick apart everything she does because it's simpler. I guess the one good thing about it is that in the video Mariah looks stunning. I mean, drop dead gorgeous. In all stills and gifs of that video, Mariah captures one of her best looks ever. I guess it should come as no surprise that it was directed by Sanaa Hamri, who in my opinion, along with Diane Martel, has brought out the best of Mariah in most (if not all) the videos they have worked together. It's clearly messing with her head having to deal with it. Like why is Nick still living in the Bel Air house? Property issues are known to stall the process. Mariah isn't a machine, these things affect her and throw her off her game. It's unfortunate that she was so late to the Rockefeller centre they had to send her home. I feel sorry for all the people who waited in the freezing cold but shit happens. She is human after all. Mariah should put out a public statement apologising for not showing up on time to perform though. Hopefully she gets a redo at the live taping later and maybe sneak it into her performance.
