Mariah shading Kim (46,307) by Luis from Spain
Do you guys remember when Mariah shaded Kim at the Jenny Craig event? Now it makes sense. It's true that Nick shouldn't have talked about such private thing. I mean, I would be angry as well. Mariah has never been exposing her love but for two men: Luis Miguel and Nick, so this means they are opposites in that sense. Said this, I think it's not very fair for him to sign a contract. Mariah has been dissing Mottola since 1998. What if she does the same with Nick? Not fair. One thing that I would like to point out is that Mariah is now more insecure than ever. Because of Nick?

Looking for the signs (46,306) by Isabelle from USA
I believe that their marriage was in trouble before Nick started name dropping in a interview. Mariah has repeatedly been mentioned that she didn't like Nick talking about their personal stuff to the public. Mariah was asked by the Breakfast Club back in February her plans for Valentines and she said that Nick wasn't going to be home. If Nick close sources say that he feels that Mariah wasn't emotionally stable and the environment was toxic for the kids then why is he taking many gigs and not their to help her out or be with his kids. I think that his close sources are trying to paint a better picture for Nick and portrayed him as the victim of the relationship. They also said that Mariah is surrounded by "yes men" I sorta believe that. I think the reason why Benny Medina was fired was maybe due that he didn't approve of Mariah and Nick dating. He was fired around the time she started seeing Nick.

This divorce thing (46,305) by Luis from Spain
There was something behind the curtains since February, well before Howard Stern. I was rewatching interviews from the "You're mine" era and she was already angry with Nick. Just remember on Valentine's Day how she posted images of herself while she was waiting for him. Maybe what they say about Nick being a workholic is true. Also, I think if they finally get a divorce it will be for the best of Mariah. She has always been serious about her career until she married him, just compare how different the E=MC2 and MOAIA eras are. While the first one started fine, the other was messy and lazy. She even worked herself out to recover her body. Maybe now we can get a real comeback. Said this, I think Mariah must be very angry about the way Nick announced the separation. She has not talked yet, so I think people is waiting for a statement. If they are mature enough they would go on a trial divorce and then send a press release stating that the divorce is done, just as Madonna and Guy did. I think this will be over while touring Asia. Time will tell.

Nick's dad (46,304) by Dove from USA
Didn't Nick know before they got married that Mariah couldn't have ten kids? They were lucky they had the two, especially with all of the complications with her pregnancy. Whatever, Nick can go find a "slim women" to have ten kids for him. In the comments people were going off on Cannon senior and he responded by saying something along the lines of if the shoe fits it will hit you and if you're not doing those things or using drugs you have nothing to worry about. Right before he posted these "questions" he posted pictures of Nick and Mariah so they were clearly on his mind when he decided to post these questions from this old book of his. Why now? Some of his "questions" we could clearly connect to Mariah and Nick so when we read the others we naturally assume they were about them too. He called a poster "an ass" for assuming it was about people "she thinks she knows" but it was clearly posted with that intention.

The censors (46,299) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Ah, now my post makes no sense. I understand the webmaster probably had to censor the parts because they were really offensive towards Mariah. Just to clarify, no bad words used on my part.

What on earth? (46,298) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Ok so I found the quotes. Is this man for real? He claims they are not about Mariah and he mentions a hundred times that the quotes are from his book from 2011. So either the man is using the MC-NC divorce controversy to gain publicity for his book (judging by the 100 times he mentions "my book, the calling") or the man is directly attacking Mariah. (Since all the quotes are painting the woman in a bad way while making the husband almost innocent. The "wife wants 2 kids", [censored] all seems to directly hit Mariah where it hurts the most.) Someone before me posted some of the quotes, I found 2 more so thought of putting them together. "Here's a thing to talk about if the wife love sex and the man can't stand making love to her. What should that woman do?" "Here's a thing, if the husband says no lies, and the wife lies all the time, what should that man do?" [censored] "Here a thing, if a husband wants to have ten children and his wife only wants two children then what should that man do?"

Nick's dad (46,297) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Can anyone tell me where they found the quotes from? He claims it's not Mariah yet his point about wife wanting 2 kids and husband wanting 10 kids is exactly the things Mariah and Nick said. MC keeps saying she won't have any more kids because this pregnancy was very painful for her and Nick keeps saying he wants a big family with 10 kids. And did the father say that what happens when the wife wants sex and the husband can't bear to look at her? Um excuse me? "What happens when a man's father is a little too interested in his son's sex life that it gets disturbing?" "What happens when this man's career was taken to new heights when he bagged Mariah Carey and the woman's career went downhill playing house with him?" Honestly I said before that I won't blame any one of them (MC or NC) but these quotes from Nick on TMZ and his dad, if proven true, I won't feel bad about hating on Nick.

Nick on TMZ (46,296) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Ok so the dirt throwing has begun? So "allegedly" Nick said that he was the one who ended the relation because he is concerned about Mariah's mental state and the well being of his kids since apparently the kids have shown that signs of being emotionally upset while living with Mariah. TMZ further claims that Nick is apparently playing a passive role in the divorce and asked his lawyers "to take the path of least resistance to end things possible". He says it's "toxic" to live around Mariah. Dear Lord, I hope to God this statement is false and made up and that Nick didn't say anything because if he did, it paints a very bad image of Mariah and innocent image of himself. I really hope for both of their sakes that Nick actually didn't make that statement.

Nick's dad (46,295) by Dove from USA
Oh my goodness. Wow that did hurt. That man does not have Jesus's love in his heart. He claims it's not about Mariah but why would anyone say those hurtful, judgemental things about anyone? He's not Jesus. And he wrote a book, there are actually people out there who follow this line of thinking. I hate to say it but Nick and his dad are coming off as ignorant brutes.

Nick's dad (46,294) by Darryle from USA
Here's what Nick's dad posted in case anybody want to read. It's really mean and kind of upsetting that somebody would post this. Especially during this time. Here's a thing to talk about. If the wife loves sex and the man can’t stand making love to her, what should that woman do? Here's a thing, if the husband says no lies, and the wife lies all the time, what should that man do? [censored] Here's a thing, if a husband wants to have ten children and his wife only wants two children then what should that man do?

Revisiting the album (46,293) by Darryle from USA
After hearing about the separation I've revisited MIAM and listened to it all over again. There is a lot of sadness and pain on this album. Some of it disguised by upbeat tempos. If these songs were written before they separated just imagine the album that could come after it. It could be a modern day Butterfly and be very dark and moody or a modern day Rainbow which would be uplifting and happy. Hopefully the latter.

Mariah's tattoo (46,292) by PJW from The U.K.
She has "Mrs.cannon" as the body of the butterfly on her lower spine, though she was obviously clever enough to get it done like that so it can be covered over.

Nick / divorce (46,291) by Chicago Lamb from USA
I don't have anything personal against Nick. Mariah was happy with him in the beginning and together they brought two beautiful kids into the world. But I don't think he has been very good for her image (at all really since they met) and I support her decision to divorce him, if that's what she needs to do.

May and Abraham (46,290) by Dove from USA
Thanks May, I hope you're right. I think you are. I was having a typical emotional upset. I like what you guys wrote about Mariah's lyrics, they are like poetry. Thanks, Abraham, I like your list too. I hadn't heard some of the songs you listed but I looked them up and they were very Mariah. I especially liked Love Is On The Way. When I first heard Halo by Beyonce and We Found Love by Rihanna I wished they were Mariah songs. I also for the longest time wanted Mariah to cover The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face but Leona Lewis already covered it. That song reminds me of when my son was born, I used to sing it to him when he was a baby. But Roberta Flack's is pretty perfect so now I'm glad MC didn't cover it.

Um / Nick and his tattoo / the divorce (46,288) by Edward from USA
Um, thanks to the laser technology, Nick will eventually get his tattoo removed. It seems to be Mariah just got tired of being lonely with Nick taking every gig he could when they actually didn't need the money like that. I don't think the comments he made were the cause of the divorce, but other bigger things. Some people are saying he was talking himself out of the marriage on purpose by saying the things he was saying. Since they were still OK when she had the accident and the album was about to drop, I believe most songs from MIAMTEC were written and sung within a years period. By changing the concept of the album, she must've left many songs out to accommodate the new ones. According to TMZ, she made him sign a confidentiality agreement as part of the divorce where he cannot talk about the divorce, but Mariah can on her own terms. Since they have kids, I believe he'll be a gentlemen with this whole situation. As for dem babies, I don't think Nick will neglect them, he'll be in their lives and they'll be just fine. What matters is the love they get from both parents, when two people can't be together, doing it for the kids makes the situation worse. I'm more concerned about Mariah and what she must be going through.

A new chapter for Mariah and the lambily (46,286) by Marissa from USA
As bad as this time is in Mariah's personal life, it's times like these that bring the lambily closer together. We put aside bulls*** arguments about JD, weight gain, Madonna, and clothing choices and can get back to the basics of our love for Mariah. When major pivotal events like this one happens, nothing else matters but support. One thing "negative" and "positive" lambs alike can agree on is that none of us want to see Mariah or her kids go through such a difficult time. The reason the lambily was so divided and some people just dropped Mariah altogether was because we were all in the dark about what the hell was going on. Whether you were classified as a "negative" or "positive" lamb, we were all piecing together crumbs of information because there was nothing else we could do. Now that things are starting to come to light and make sense maybe we can all focus on our commonality and finally start fresh.

Sad but true (46,285) by Carol from Spain
So it's true, the love story is over, the unthinkable happened. This whole era was meant to be like this, I always said, there was something behind the curtains we couldn't see and here it is. Mariah possibly tried to fix things. I couldn't be sadder with this. I just hope the fanbase doesn't start to throw names and accuse, let that be for papparazzi and low class news sites. Mariah actually needs us to be uplifting and remember her why we love her so much. It takes two to make a marriage and I believe both of them failed at some point. Hoping dem babies stay ok because I believe they got both parents who love them. I can't even deal with the idea of Mimi suffering and going trough another divorce again, but she will come back banging.

Mariah lyrics and evolution (46,284) by May from Denmark
One of the things that I loved the most about Mariah the first times I could understand what she was saying in her music were the sophisticated lyrics. Her first works sound slightly on the formal side but then you can see how she goes into adding more depth and complexity to her lyrics. The way "Butterfly" is written "I have learned that beauty, has to flourish in the light, wild horses run unbridled or their spirit dies, you have given me the courage to be all that I can", it is poetry. What I also like about her lyrics is that you can always feel reflected with what she has to share, there are songs that can go with any mood like CTTA, because she finds a way to express specific feelings she had but in a way that includes the listener, it's not just her "feeling that", it's like a shared experience. In some of her latest works she has been adding a lot of "daily talk" and street talk, and I get the feeling that is to make it more informal and give the listener more of a personal-friendly approach. Sometimes even for fun songs she has used slangs and up to date colloquialisms like in Touch My Body. She has never hit that low bottom such as "I'm stupid, I'm dumb" and she has still been able to talk about sexual freedom but in a classy insinuating way. Memoirs is perhaps the only one that used the most brand names tho she included some in TEOM, never knew if it was all that new "ad placement" thing lol I don't feel it necessary. Loved your comment Mimi L. Great examples.

this_is_qhm/ KeShawn Taylor / Shelly (46,283) by Abraham from USA
I too would have liked Mariah to have had the song "Why oh why". It's a good r&b song. I think all the producers who worked on the "Let's talk about love" album were good. I wonder if they wrote or worked for anyone else? I also would have liked Mariah to have had "Just a little bit of love". It's good to know others want Mariah to cover "You give good love" as a tribute to Whitney. I think she would do a good job. Weren't there rumors about her covering a WH or MJ song for an album? KeShawn, I like your dream covers and ideas. However I would never want to see Mariah smoking. It will ruin a singer's voice. Plus it takes a toll on your looks. Shelly, I like your list as well and I agree with everything you said. I too would be devastated if Mariah were to fall back down again. She really took it hard with Luis Miguel, but I think now that she has kids. They will help keep her strong. I think she's a stronger woman now. But still, hope she is doing okay. I hope she hits it big with her next album.

Shelly don't be down (46,282) by May from Denmark
I think that first you should understand that is not really Hollywood that takes people into a down spiral, it happens everyday to everyday people and I could write you just from my life story all those I knew who went and fell down, those who looked for death and those who found them. Mariah has gained experience with the years but what we should remember, is that she is a very mature person and she has always been that way, she is not one to fall for decadence. In my opinion she has always resorted to the phrase "eternally 12" because in reality she has always been the grown up, the adult, the one everyone relied on from very young. Just recall her first interviews, how well centered for her age she was. I think is not fair to compare her with those you mentioned because, aside from Judy Garland who only had one moment of depression that she came out from and had a successful career till the end, the rest were lost in unresolved youth issues, depression and drug addictions. I feel that Mariah has a strong support system in which I think the most important figure is her mother, who is a truly loving and caring mother, unlike MJ's mother. I think some of this new work she has been into, time for herself and her kids will compensate for the frustrations of a divorce. Don't think that those bad things that celebrities go through is only provoked by Hollywood, most of them come with baggage, the media likes to make it big because they are famous but it can happen to anyone.

"One More Try" (46,281) by Billy from Greece
Skipping the current flaming issue. I just wanted to say how epic Mariah's version of this classic is. It is so understated that it can be initially mistaken as underwhelming, especially when compared to George Michael's "divalicious" performance. However, it is totally on par with Mariah's other brilliant remakes, only with an extra touch of identification on her part as betrayed by her very introspective delivery. Inimitable interpretation. I'm also very glad that she retained the "breaking" of her voice/phrasing towards the end, as well as the final semi-wail ("autumn boy") which is as live as a studio performance can get.

The writing was on the wall (46,271) by B from USA
Me. I am Mariah is filled with lyrics about a failed relationship. Thirsty is about Nick's hunger for fame. He told the world he was with Nicole from The Pussycat Dolls and left her for Mariah and that he was with Kim Kardashian. The lyrics speak for themselves. I knew from the first listen that they were having problems. I think this ordeal with inspire Mariah. She'll release an album like Butterfly next. Mark my words. This explains why she didn't promote MIAMTEC.

Mariah the lyricist (46,268) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Can we just take a moment and be in awe of Mariah's talent as a lyricist? How does this woman go from mature heartfelt, pain filled lyrics like "I cry and cry while you laugh and laugh at the question, but I need to know" to dissing the crap out of a worthless lover "If we were two Lego blocks, even the Harvard graduating class of 2010, couldn't put us back together again". Then she'll get mushy enough to give teenage girls a run for their money (or well "mushy-ness") with a nice "got photos of us on my refrigerator, videos on my phone, boy I can't erase them, the first text I ever got from you still saved in my inbox and I read it time after time". Then she'll unleash the sexy on you "Tonight I'm gonna need all your attention, close the door, I wanna do things I probably shouldn't mention". The she'll make you cry remembering the loved ones you lost "And I assume that you have reached a better place, still I'd give the world to see your face" (that gets me every single time). She'll teach you that even if it's hard you sometimes need to let go of a loved one to see if they loved you enough to come back "Now I understand to hold you, I must open up my hands and watch you rise". And after you are down crying up a mess over lost love, "You'll change your mind and call my name, soon as you find they're all the same and when you find yourself alone, don't come back crying you should have known". When you are feeling super fabulous "them chickens is ash and I'm lotion" and when you are feeling like crap after looking at the mirror "Just be perfectly imperfect". And when you doubt yourself because people say you are not good enough "trying to get me down, but I won't face the ground, I will rise steadily, sailing out of their reach, oh lord they do try, how to make me feel that I, don't matter at all, but I refuse to falter in what I believe" while you spinning around in the apartment like Mariah. (I love CTTA, way more than Hero, it just raise my spirits everytime.) Anyways, I can go on, but my point is, this woman has such diverse songs and especially lyrics, it's like she has so many sides to her, while all the others just talk about how big their booty is and how they would like to be violated (hello Nicki).
