Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse (47,978) by T from USA
I think this is one of Mariah Carey's greatest albums. Everything about it, the production, the music, the lyrics, the vocals, the style, the variety. It can't be matched. Let's buy everyone we know a copy for Christmas and spread the good music.

Mariah's strength (47,977) by Jon from Netherlands
Hey there lambily. My first time posting on the board. I was watching a documentary about Whitney and I realised more than ever how strong psychologically Mariah is. Looking at MJ, at WH and so many artists and then looking at Mariah you just realise this woman is incredible. She has never done drugs, she always recovered from very difficult situations and even now with the tour she could have gone the WH way and make a mess out of it but she recovered so beautifully. This is probably one of the most difficult times of her life and she is fighting back. She could have been completely lost after Motolla or after Glitter but she didn't. The most amazing part is that she does it on her own. There is really no one there to direct her behaviour. A lot of people don't like her but I say kudos to Mariah for being herself. I know she is far from perfect and she is getting more and more insecure as she ages but at least she is real and she is putting herself out there instead of a fabricated public image. What an example.

Andy Cohen (47,976) by G.G. from USA
He is such a jerk for talking about Mariah's "do not mention" list in his book. At the same time though, Mariah needs to stop that foolishness. It makes her look petty and insecure.

Heavenly (Can't give up/No ways tired) (47,975) by Terna from Nigeria
This song is so uplifting and healing. Everytime I listen to it, there's this calm and reassurance I experience. Also her voice on this track is on another level entirely (those high falsettos and whistles cut like steel), I haven't heard her sing with such raw emotion and power since "Fly Like a Bird". I remember watching "House of Payne" a while back and there was this episode where the character Cassie Davis plays sang this song when her son Calvin got shot and was battling for his life in a coma, I was very touched by that episode and came to realize then that it's a faith song first and foremost and then a Victor's song too. So immediately I saw it on the tracklistings as the album closer, my heart smiled. I am glad Mariah covered this song and interpreted it in such a powerful way, I do want Mariah to go full-on gospel. Now that would be a career defining moment.

You're Mine (47,974) by Brad Catoe from United States
This is actually one of my favorite songs. Haha I was so in love with it. I was actually really disappointed that she isnt performing it. That's the one thing I really liked about the Angels Advocate show, she did a lot of songs from the album. I wish she was doing more MIAM songs. Either way though You're Mine is amazing. I hope she knows that it really resonated with some.

Abraham (47,973) by B from USA
I have to disagree with you. You're Mine (Eternal) is one of my favorite songs on MIAMTEC. It doesn't sound like We Belong Together or Don't Forget About Us. It was produced by Rodney Darkchild Jerkins. The lyrics are romantic poetry and the beat is "ratchet" which is current. If she had worked with JD and Cox on You're Mine (Eternal) then it would sound like a rehash of We Belong Together. Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse is one of Mariah's best albums. I also love Money featuring Fabulous. The Mike Will Made It beat and Mariah's silly catchy chorus(hook) is an earworm. The only songs that I dislike (skip) are One More Try and Heavenly (No Ways Tired/Can't Give Up Now). However, I do enjoy Mariah's vocals on Heavenly. With only one album going platinum this year, Mariah selling over a 100,000 copies with no promotion isn't and shouldn't be considered a flop. I hope she re releases MIAMTEC with new song and a DVD with clips from her tour like she did for the rerelease of The Emancipation of Mimi. Or she releases a new album to mark her twenty-five years in the industry. She's an Icon and she's still a force to be reckoned with. Next year marks my twentieth year as a Lamb.

Matt Fishel - "Oh Santa!" Roc & Roe version (47,972) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
I'm usually disappointed by Mariah covers. Firstly because the vocal delivery is almost always like bad careyoke but especially production wise. This guy, Matt Fishel, is one of very few who actually made a Mariah song his own. I just love it. I hope she's heard this rendition. Enjoy.

Emotions all whistles live (47,971) by Eduardo from Mexico

Have anyone noticed that she sang all the whistles live during her Yarra Valley concert? I'm really surprised she hit them live and they really sounded piercing, the whistle in the middle of the song sounded like the one she hit at Des O'Connor tonight.

St Nick and the Apologists (47,970) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
I apologise, I take it all back. None of the songs on MIAMTEC are about Nick, especially not Thirsty. Just like Mariah never wrote about Tommy, Derek or Luis in any of her lyrics. And Nick only meant to add forever to his Mariah tattoo, not cover it up into oblivion. Mariah never sang "And I know you cheated motherf*****" in Tokyo. Nick's crude appearance on Big Boy's radio show never aired on 3/27, Mariah's Anniversary. Nor did he continue to disrespect her on Howard Stern a few days later or reveal how he came up because of the women he slept with. James Cannon never posted anything on Facebook that began with "Here a thing" right after Nick never leaked to a friend in the media that he and Mariah were separated. Nick never deleted his Instagram or tweet how Thirsty was his favourite song. In fact, everything is so great between Mariah and Nick, the only reason they are getting a divorce is so they can get married again. That's why they didn't renew their vows this year, everyone does it now. A remarriage is much more original. In fact, that's Mariah's big 2015 announcement. Coming soon, to a reality TV near you.

Re: Abraham (47,969) by MCvoice from Singapore
I totally agree with you. I love this album, but had always skipped YME and Money. TAOLG is actually my fave song in her recent years. Plus Almost Home and Triumphant, though I know fans hate this song.

MIAM (47,968) by Abraham from USA
I think that Mariah should have replaced "You're mine" and "Money". "You're mine" is Mariah's weakest song, compared to "We belong together", "Don't forget about us" and "I stay in love". I just think it doesn't fit on the album. It should have been replaced with "The art of letting go". And "Money" annoys me. But hey, it's just me. It's still my one of my favorite albums. And one of Mariah's best. Now, I could definitely have the next. I will be so happy if "Don't explain" and "Lullaby of birdland" were recorded in the studio and put on.

Comeback no. 2 plus hello (47,967) by Luke from United Kingdom
Hey I'm new and only recently found this website and I love it. I've loved Mariah all my life but have only really have started following her in the last 2 years. This maybe wishful thinking but looking at this tour and MIAMTEC, does anyone get the idea that Mariah kinda wants to move on from this album because the majority of it is probably related to Nick? I also feel that this looks a lot like what she was doing with the Charmbracelet tour and album. Critics and a lot of fans were pretty sure she'd had her time back then and assumed there was nothing left for her but she went on tour, built up publicity, sang live (and well for most of it) and then a year and a half later came back with a vengeance in 2005. Does anyone else think she's got something up her sleeve planned for next year (possibly late 2015)?

Matteo (47,965) by Matini from United States
From what I could hear, in the beginning of "Faded", she whispers, "It was overcast that day, I was feeling kinda way" almost as if she's writing the lyrics as she's whispering them to herself. In the beginning of "YME", she whispers, "I can't seem to give you up, you're mine." That's just what I heard though.

Matteo (47,964) by Will from England
She's just murmuring the lyrics as she is writing them down. For "Faded" it's just "It was overcast that, and I was feeling some kind of way" whilst for "You're Mine" it's just "I can't seem to give you up, you're mine". As for "Money" I thought she said "I can't leave it like that", which makes me think that she may have originally ended the album on "Camouflage" before recording new songs post-shoulder injury.

Matteo (47,963) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Hey there, welcome to the board. I just wanted to clear out the things Mariah whispers in the beginning of a couple of songs for you. Before Money starts, she says "I can't leave it like that", which I assume is referring to the fact that Money was a last minute addition to the album. Mariah already had an album ready, but at the end she added 4 new songs to the album. Money was probably the last to be recorded. So she probably means that she decided she couldn't leave the album like it was (when it was titled TAOLG) and so she added Money. Before Faded she just keeps writing and reading the first two lines of the song "It was overcast that day, I was feeling some kind of way". Before YME, she just says "You're mine", and it echoes. I hope that clears it up. I think when Mariah said she wants the album to be heard as a body of work, she meant that she wants the fans to go through the songs as a journey, which reflects her life in the past 4 years. The joy, the love, the sadness, the anger and the shade.

Whispering words on MIAMTEC (47,962) by Matteo from Italy
Hi lambs. This is my first message. I read this site for years and I have always wanted to write something so here I am. Sorry if I make any mistakes but English is not my first language so I'm doing the best with what I have got. I have one question, I don't know if this has been already discussed on this message board but have you noticed that on the very very beginning of certain songs of MIAMTEC Mariah whispers something? (You have to turn the music really loud to hear this.) Mariah said that she wanted the album to be heard as a full body of work so I don't know if these are hidden messages. I know for sure that at the beginning of Money she says "I can't live like that". Also she whispers something in the beginning of Faded and You're Mine (Eternal) but I haven't figured it out what she says. Also in the deluxe edition at the beginning of It's A Wrap she says "Now for the deluxe" but I don't think that this can be considered as a hidden message. What do you think lambs? Am I the only one who have noticed that?

Baby, baby, one more time (47,961) by Marcus from Brazil
Now Nick's out there to get Mariah. He married her just to use her. He creates fakes accounts to put out rumours about her. He damaged her career. Baby, you're either the best private long distance investigator or borderline paranoid. You're really underestimating and at the same time insulting Mariah's intelligence. I guess you think Mariah's is a mentally handicapped 12 years old who just happens to write beautiful lyrics. Maybe Nick put something in Mariah's tea so she couldn't sing well the first few shows of her tour. I hope you don't go through your very own e-glitter moment. Mariah is a very strong, intelligent, independent woman. She's looking relaxed and happy, and most likely talks to the "monster" everyday. The only thing we know for sure is that Nick wasn't ever there, the rest is pure speculation.

All I Want For Christmas Is You and Touch My Body are both approaching 80 million views on YouTube (47,959) by Emma from United States
I think it's time for the Lambiy to come together and stream it like it's part of their religion like other fanbases do when their favorite's have a video that is getting close to 100 million. It would probably take a long time but they're the closest at this point and Mariah deserves more than just 1 Vevo certification.

Adam and the thirsty one (47,958) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
Calling Thirsty out on his ish is hardly bashing him. The only reason I even care enough about what he has to say is because he habitually makes Mariah look bad all the while proclaiming his undying love for her. He's the consumate poster child for passive aggressive behaviour. The way he gleefully talks about Mariah like she's just another notch on his belt. Not even Eminem at his most delusional can top the soundbites Thirsty has made part of YouTube canon. He's the real slim shady. He also uses other people as proxies to cast doubt on Mariah as a parent. Why? Maybe that doesn't bother you but I'm not here for that and never will be. So you're wasting your time if you think I care what someone who stans for Tommy and Walter wants me to post about. I love how you think the only reference to Thirsty on MIAMTEC is thirsty. What about Cry, Faded, Money, MILG, Camouflage, OMT, BGK, IAW? In fact I'd venture to say the only songs not inspired, even tangentially, by Thirsty are #Beautiful and Dedicated. But whatever makes you sleep at night I guess.

Mariah's show (Nikki) (47,956) by TS from United States
That is exactly the type of thing she should do. It would be up to her to decide what actions to take with certain singers/songwriters, which is exactly what her ill-fated American Idol experience did not provide. Also, I think if all went successful with it, she may be well received if she actually gets the people record-deal ready and out into the market that most of the current shows (I'm looking at Idol and The Voice) haven't done for simply ages. No shade to anyone's favorite winners to said shows, just trying to shed light on the situation.

MC Emotions in New Z. (47,955) by nikki from usa

As far as celebs go, MC is truly elusive. She's a recluse even during her prime she stayed at home. She's still not out and about unless she's promoting something. Mariah is the hermit diva. I would like to see her in the limelight more often, but is it the real reason that she's uncomfortable with it? I don't know why she doesn't have her own label at this point. It would save her a lot of hassles and she could efficiently promote her own albums. The invent of the internet would give her so much opportunity to distribute. I also think she should have her own show where she can mentor singer hopefuls and the point of the show is to earn (not win) a record deal. Focus on the journey rather than a contestant show. She can teach them how to sing and be a superstar. Mariah could help them to get over stage fright by making them bungee jump or something. It could be comical and entertaining. It would feature everything Mariah: actual talent, no judging, mentoring, and her life experience, while she shamelessly promotes her own music. I'd watch it.

Fans bashing on Nick Cannon (47,952) by ADAM from USA
I would agree with some of the fans on here that fans should not take to bashing Nick Cannon because MC is getting divorced. Both of them are adults and made the decision to get married and have children. Mission accomplished. Half of all marriages end in divorce and these 2 people were no different. Why must some fans destroys this guys image because they are no longer married? He's obviously not a monster if MC married him and eventually made him her baby's father. Please fans calm down and focus inward on your own lives. Life is hard enough as it is. Stop spreading the negativity and let these two entertainers move on in their personal and professional lives. At the end of the day, he will always be in her life because of the children they created and they need to get along and not resort to destroying each other's image, otherwise their children will inherit their mother's insecurities and view Nick as a bad father. So IMO, Mariah needs to keep quiet and let "Thristy" be the only public record of her feelings about Nick.
