2015 (47,045) by B from USA
2015 marks twenty-five years of Mariah blessings us with her gift. Her voice is a gift from God. She's the lyricist of our generation. She's a singer-songwriter, producer, and actress. 2015 marks my twentieth year as a fan. I still remember where I was at when I heard Fantasy for the first time. I was ten when Fantasy came out in 1995 and I'll be thirty in 2015. Mariah's music is the soundtrack to my life.

Mariah writes her best songs (albums) when she's unhappy, has anyone else noticed this?

Just a thought (47,043) by Norman from USA
Hello everyone. This is my first time writing a message on here, although I've been a frequent visitor and reader for a while now. I know all of us are wondering what Mariah's next move will be, and we all our opinions, so with that in mind I'd like to say that I believe our beloved Mimi will record a "live" album during this tour. It will include songs from this era as well as her greatest hits, and even new material (as she alluded to in a message to us lambs, I believe). This would give her a "live" album, greatest hits album, and the vibe of a new album all in one punch, all while she's on tour. I think that's why she's in the studio. She's laying it all down for it to pop off and slay all those mofo's that said she's over and done for. Either way, it's just a thought. Whatever she does, I just hope she's well and that her kids are well, too. Here's hoping you're all doing great.

You know, I've often thought the same thing. I would love to see Mariah do Broadway. I think she would do a good job. She usually is in charge of doing and controling everything. Her videos, etc. So it would work. And like you stated, have her tell a story. Her childhood, her career, break ups or about the new album. I think Mariah's acting is pretty good. She has it. Her performance in "Precious" was good. As far as her voice being able to handle it, I think so. Mariah's problem is that she doesn't rest it like she should. (No talking.) She just needs to do vocal warm ups. I really think her touring will help get her voice in a good place. That's what happened with the "Charmbracelet" tour. That got her voice the best it's ever been with "TEOM".

Broadway? (47,040) by Jonathan from United States
I just thought, Mariah loves singing and she likes acting so why not Broadway? If she doesn't want to be in a show about something else then she could star in one about her life or get someone to play her although I would like to see her tackle an actual character. Just picture it, Glitter or the Christmas movie that may happen on Broadway. She could even do one based on MIAMTEC since it tells a story like Greenday did with American Idiot. Even if her acting sucks people will come because she is Mariah Carey, but my only concern would be could her voice handle it? Any thoughts?

Travon / Stacey (47,039) by Abraham from USA
Travon, you don't owe anyone [...] an apology. [...] I for one like you and enjoy your commentary. Stacey, girl have a seat. Travon referenced you because of what you posted. "There will always be people who need their 15 seconds of fame no matter how foolish it makes them look." Who were you referring to? He assumed you were talking about him. Is being a fan longer than someone supposed to count for something. You came off rude in your post. So why don't you take your own advice and back it up a bit.

Trayvon (47,038) by Stacey from USA
Just curious: why are you referencing me? Go back and read my posts to you in the past few days. Oh wait, there are none. I've been a fan since 1993, posting online since 2002. I'm 37, married, and a mother of three. Shoot, I've been a fan as long as you've been alive, lol. I've seen too many people post here thinking they can say whatever, go after whomever they want simply because they sit comfortably behind a computer screen. Back it up a bit and don't be so aggressive. We are all fans. However, just because Edward sees an issue differently than you do doesn't make him sound like a "non-fan" as you put it. It drives me crazy when one fan calls into question another fan's dedication because of a disagreement. It's not your place. You want the same courtesy and respect from other fans? Then be sure to give them that same treatment. Know what I mean? We are all fans here chatting about all things MC. You are welcomed. The drama is not. I've said my peace. Moving on. Peace.

Sales and number ones (47,036) by QueenLambassador from Portugal
Album sales and number one albums are so relative. For instance, Sia sold 30,000 copies and she tops Billboard. Mariah sold more then that and lands a number 3. So, the question is, was Sia a hit because she topped the chart or was it a flop because she sold less?

Re: Diva down that never was, nikki USA (47,035) by QueenLambassador from Portugal
Im with you. But I don't think Mariah's problem isn't promotion, we saw what happened to JLo. It's a problem with mentality. Today's music listeners are very impressive and brain washed young people that do know a Michael Jackson, a Chet Baker, a Etta James and believe some new acts are the bomb. I accept we must embrace progress and change but I also believe we must recognize the origin of it all. Mariah has done so much that just the mention of her name is enough to fuel the evening news or the gossip columns. She doesn't need to move for people to know her. And I disagree when some say MC didn't promote: what was the whole Time Square thing ? Or BET? Or the Emprire State building thing or MTV with Sway? People just didn't react because they think she is old news.

Diva down, that never was (47,034) by nikki from usa
Apparently, the quieter Mariah is the more venomous the press gets. Gossip sites are overflowing with crazy stories and dragging her name through the mud. They all seem to acknowledge she's going through a divorce, but somehow make Mariah out to be some kind of a monster. WTF? Even Nick's twitter defense rant didn't help. If anything, it egged them on. I don't see Thicke or J.Lo getting the kind of crap Mariah's been getting for album sales either. Didn't they learn their lesson the last time they counted her out? As much as the press wants everyone to believe Mariah's "over", they 180 by comparing every newbie to her success. If sounding like MC can get you a hit, than Mariah will never be over. Hip pop today is a staple in music courtesy of Mariah. Over 2 million people tuned in this year to an MC special that was never promoted or publicized, just to hear this woman sing and talk. Everyone should fully expect the media to be "shocked" once again when Mariah decides to promote herself, by actually lifting a finger, to secure a future hit.

2015 celebrates 25 years of Mariah Carey (47,033) by QueenLambassador from Portugal
All the lambs in the land know music changed so much in this last decade. But, before music was all numbers and iTunes or YouTube views, music was about raw undeniable talent. In 2015 it will be 25 years Mariah. Can you believe it's been 25 years since VOL? It's been a bumpy ride for Mariah Carey: the highs, the lows, the grey spaces in life made her the icon and legend she is and it all began with the sophomore album that defined all the generation of singers to this date. Here to 25 more, queen Mimi.

The Elusive Chanteuse Show (47,032) by QueenLambassador from Portugal
It's nice to see Mariah is in such high demand. This only shows how the rest of the world is wrong. Mariah's latest effort was supposed to be big but something happened and it didn't happen. But I'm personally glad she still will tour the album and show her audience what these songs are about. This tour will have a sort of healing effect for her and will be enjoyable for the fans (the lucky ones who will see her). It is her time to shine and she seems to be working so hard. May the countdown begin.

Edward / Stacey (47,031) by Travon..SweetSweetFantasy from USA
My name is Travon Austin. I was born in Indiana. I am 22 years old. I do not enjoy dress ups, makeup, and I am not gay. I am actually a very nice person. As a human being I acknowledge differences of opinion. I expect opinions to be from the heart and not judged on everyone else. I am new to this post but have visited this website since I was a teenager. I do not appreciate being in the same class as those who judge and are rude to others. If I was rude, I apopogize, however I expect the same courtesy and respect. Thank you.

There will always be people who need their 15 seconds of fame no matter how foolish it makes them look. Thankfully you don't need such drama to make your life meaningful. Well done.

Webmaster (47,029) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Where did you get the full version of the picture in the article about MC's tour in China? I haven't seen this version. I checked out the main website on which the article was posted, they don't have it either. Can you let me know where I can find a big size of this version? Thanks. [Webmaster: I used Google Images to find this picture of Mariah, but I couldn't find a HQ picture.]

Monykkka, rare music (47,028) by Todd from Melbourne, Australia
Hi Monykkka. If you know where to look, there are lots of rare MC remixes and unreleased songs available online. I'm by no means advocating illegally downloading things, but it's there.

Kenny (47,027) by Edward from USA
Kenny, thanks for you comment. I never get nasty to people on this board. I have my opinions like everybody else. If I like a post or have something to say, I do so. My problem is when some people try to get personal or dictate the way other fans have to act or the things they have to post here to be considered true fans, according to their guidelines of course. If you read what I posted in answer to Angelo as to why YDKWTD wasn't successful, you'll see there wasn't anything disrespectful to Mariah on it, and his answer was equally respectful. I don't know if you got to see some of Isaac's posts, he was mostly nasty to other fans here when people didn't agree with his "Mariah is perfect" point of view, and got banned from the board. I think he is back with a different nick, a nick I won't acknowledge by typing it here. He'll get banned again though, Isaac is starting to show his true colors again.

Divas live (47,025) by Abraham from USA
Does anybody else enjoy watching "Divas Live" as much as I do? Course my favorite part is Mariah. She slayed with "My all" and "Make it happen". Her voice was fierce that night. And she looked amazing. No shade or disrespect, but I saw no reason why Carole and Gloria were there. I like Shania, but meh. It would have been something if Barbra, Patti and Whitney had been there instead of them. As they are the true divas. It would be cool if there would be some kind of special that honors Mariah. And have a couple of artists sing for her. Like Leona Lewis, Kelly Clarkson, Pink, Lady Gaga, Adele. And hell, even Beyonce. I think that would be good for something in the future. I'm hoping the tour gets Mariah's voice in a good place to the point she won't have to lip sync any more.

You always keep me entertained with your posts. Keep them coming. For anyone to question your loyalty/fandom to Mariah either must be really new to the board or just have problems dismounting from their high horse.

I made this remix a while back. I'm not a DJ but MC and Jackson 5 sounded so cute together I couldn't resist. This is Someday and I Want You Back remixed.

Wendy (47,022) by Chicago Lamb from USA
I've recently watched all the Mariah mentions on the Wendy Show. Yes, she loves to bash Mimi but this should be viewed as a positive. She's keeping our girl in the spotlight. Bad publicity is good publicity. She even poses a potential public image turnaround for the diva. Additionally, I predict Mariah will earn a grammy nod for M.I.L.G.

Mariah's legacy (47,021) by Lee TS from USA
I read this on twitter one time, "As long as Christmas is celebrated, Mariah will be remembered. Let that sink in." When will your faves? Haha. I hope the tour goes off without a hitch, good things and new music to come. I want to see MC back on top and celebrated.

Kyle / I agree (47,020) by Edward from USA
Kyle, I completely agree with your post. Digital singles are cannibalizing album sales. Some movement will have to breathe some life into the album concept again. The concept of releasing an EP with five or six songs as a bundle, either you get them all or you get none, is great. Quality artists are struggling with what is happening. In the past the Grammy's would at least honor great music regardless of popularity, but when you see Justin Beiber getting nominated, we clearly realize there must be something wrong. As for Barbra's new album, selling 196k was a big accomplishment, her fan base keeps being loyal to her. Back in 2009 she topped Mariah by selling 180k. So, even though things have been going down hill for most artists on the albums department, she has managed to keep her numbers up plus some.
