Releases (43,721) by Darryle from USA
Why does Mariah keep releasing such amazing songs and not allowing them for download? You don't sing a song like YDK that's ultra catchy and upbeat and then just let us wait for the album to hear it. 10 more days.

Another thing (43,720) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
And I bet the studio version of YDK is so way more polished than the Today Show version.

You make some good points. We all know Mariah has been deteriorating from sometime. Her wine drinking has weakened her voice terribly. If you throw her lighting issues and diva antics into the mix, it's no wonder that the public is so turned off by her demeanor. But we as lambs know Mariah writes amazing songs and is an incredibly "studio" musician. As far as a tour, her voice is so weak that it would not sell out let alone do well. I have accepted the old MC is no longer, but I still love this woman and her albums. I will always support her.

iTunes chart (43,718) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
It seems like everytime Mariah performs a song or previews a song from the new album, her album steadily rises up the iTunes sales charts. Currently it's at 29 on US charts. A few days back it had fallen off the top 200 but as soon as the hype with Thirsty came about, it shot straight up to 39. Then it started falling again and today it's at 29. So MC should take note and promote the hell out of this album. Release YDK or Thirsty, keep attending shows and her album will stay in the top 10. Oh they also changed the picture for the banner.

Fact vs opinion: lip syncing (43,717) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
I'm gonna need people to learn the difference between singing over a backing track and lip syncing. For the record no one here is delusional about the current state of MC's voice, so can you all please cut the crap on that. We've all accepted that she had her on and off days when performing live. Also there's enough critics on here constantly expressing "disappointment" around the clock, so I'm not getting the people being "blinded by devotion" vibe on this messageboard. Deuces.

Today Show May 2014 (43,716) by Stacey from USA
So, MC's recent live performances haven't been that great, lol. Today though, she did great. She did lip the new song. It's so obvious, no discussion is needed. Though I don't fault her for that. It's a new song and so I understand why she would lip a pre-recorded track. No one has heard it up until now. As for the other two songs, perfect choices. ABMB from the 90s and TMB, a more recent hit. As for ABMB, I loved how MC played off getting the lyrics wrong by singing she did such a thing. Classic. That is the personality we want to see, someone who plays off a mistake with a light diss toward herself and sings on. All in all, a great start to getting this new album off the ground. One side note, I loved YDKWTD except Wale's part. Ugh, I know some love, love, love her rap collabos and sometimes I do too. But this Wale guy needs to hit the road, lol. I found myself loving the song except when that guy opened up his mouth. If anyone comes across a no rap version, let me know. I'd love to have it.

Mariah on the Today Show review (part 2) (43,713) by ADAM from USA
Its so obvious MC was lipping YDK. First clue what that she moves throughout the song and dances a bit. We know from history that MC never dances and sings with a full on voice like that since her Honey days. Second, MC is not a good mimer. She always has at least 3 times in performance that her mouth misses an ad-lib that she should be singing otherwise. And lastly, when she lip-synces the sound of her voice is always the same tone even when the mic is away from her mouth, there's no breathiness or hoarseness. BTW the rapper also was bad and forgot a portion of his rap that was still playing while he didn't move his mouth. If she were really singing live, her vocals would be mixed of full voice, hoarse voice, and whispery voice - which were all evident during ABMB and TMB (mostly hoarse). I just wish fans would stop always creating excuses for her lackluster performances - she has more than enough time to rest her voice, maintain it, release quality music, and at least appear "interested" during interviews and speak on different topics. I've accepted the fact MC is embarassed by her earlier work, Someday, Emotions, I Don't Wanna Cry therefore she won't make songs like that again and also she won't sound like that ever again. This is MC in 2014 - RNB, Hip Hop, thin voiced diva - the way she likes it. I think it would be a more interesting forum if fans would stop being blinded by their devotion and act more as a realist to share our thoughts on our favorite singer.

Mariah's voice? (43,712) by Johnny from United States
What blows my mind is that people still don't understand how sensitive MC's voice is. The humidity in the air plays a part, how much sleep she has been getting, her weight. A lot of things affect her voice. We all know this. She has also been recording a lot, which takes a toll on the vocal chords. I have no doubt she can still pull it out when she needs to. Almost Home? TAOLG? I think she did great today. There were some issues but it was also very early in the morning. And we all know our girl is a night owl. Lol. I think this new album is going to be, at the very least, vocally incredible. Let's all just be happy she's promoting. [...]

Exactly Adam, that is (43,711) by Marcel from Montréal, Canada
I know we all love MC in a different way and love watching her performing that much that a lot of fans tene to hear no problems with her vocals but, truth is that the few words she sang on TMB were out of pitch and thin and that must be one of her easiest songs ever. YDKWTD was almost completely lipped, she just threw a few random words at midsong that were hoarse. ABMB was live except the part she always lips as of late after the bridge, still was an ok performance though didn't like her saying couldn't recall her own lyrics and didn't care, that too must lambs surely was MC at her funniest, to me that shows how unproffessional she's become. Not singing live her newest track was a no-no, she's supposed to be a vocalist that's why I didn't care she didn't move or looked chubby but all that and lipping? No thanks. Her interview as Adam said was just ok but the giving birth to twins is tiresome and it looked that she's not comfortable when they mention Nick anymore. Still I wish the best to her and her album and hope she gets a better more optimistic attitude towards it, because it seems like if she feels it's a flop already. Would love to see a nice uplifting video for YDK btw.

New songs (43,710) by Musti from UK
I love it. I'm so excited about this album. Every single song she's debuted so far is amazing. I think fans really need to stop comparing her new material to her other songs. Some of you seem to detect "part 2"s that just aren't there. Yes in terms their mood Thirsty is reminiscent of Migrate and YDKWTD of I'm That Chick. But I don't hear any resemblance beyond that. Even YME is largely independent of her older material, except for the last part sounding a bit like WBT. I am so glad that she has stopped recycling her older material. And I'm even more glad that the tessitura YDKWTD fits her voice perfectly. Mariah is officially back.

For me it sounds like a fresh and new "Emotions". Like it.

Ok (43,708) by Dan from US
As much as I love Mariah and I've been inspired by her and even have her name Tattooed on me, Touch My Body has to go lol. That's her worst hit. Sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings but the song has to go bye-bye lol.

You don't know what to do (43,707) by Manny from U.S.
I totally love this song. Mariah was enjoying performing this song. I thought when Mariah described "Thirsty", it would sound like "You don't know what to do". I like how the flow of "You don't know what to do" feels danceable throughout the song. I like how she sings "from playing the fool each time" and similar parts. On "Thirsty" the flow of the song changes when she sings "You thirsty from a dream", etc. It seems to slow down the energy of the song. I like the beat and how "Thirsty" is throwing shade at someone. It's like "Obssesed" and the lyrics are hilarious. "You don't know what to do" reminded me of Whitney's "One Million Bill".

This album ain't playing (43,706) by Alexis from USA
YME, Thirsty, YDKWTD have all instantly gotten stuck in my head. I don't care if this album isn't a record-shattering blockbuster in sales (maybe she "no longer lives in that dominion" where that defines her), it is definitely and officially a good record already and I am going to enjoy it for me whether the public does or not. I'm excited. I just hate that I can't buy these songs that are stuck in my head.

You Don't Know What To Do (43,705) by Terna from Nigeria
I absolutely love it. With just one listen the hook is stuck in my head, like something straight out of Music Box lol. I also love Thirsty too it's kinda like a hybrid of Migrate and Obsessed. Listening to the songs released so far one can tell this album's gonna be up there with her best work. She's bringing her A game for this new album.

YDKWTD (43,704) by Marissa from USA
Yes for YDKWTD. It's catchy and amazing. This is the type of Mariah music that I've missed. I can't even know what to say right now. Beyond excited and proud.

MC Facebook trending (EW rave review of new song) (43,703) by Keagon michael from USA
I think it's awesome how Mariah on the Today show is trending, but boy there are more haters commenting than fans. People were saying their ears were bleeding from her ABMB performance. I do wish Mariah could come off humble like the old days. Her interview on Today was sincere to the lambily but she needs to improve her image stat.

New single (43,700) by Jono from USA
Def Jam, "You Don't Know What To Do". Release it as a single. Now. This song is amazing. It manages to sound current while being throwback Mariah. Let's not have a repeat of "Migrate" and allow a great gem get away.

Lip synch (43,699) by THE TRUTH from USA
Strange that she didn't even make an effort to make the lip synch look less contrived. Was pretty much a giant cluster %$&k on stage too.

Today Show/ You Don't Know (43,698) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
Umm YDK sound very live to me. Maybe there were some backing track moments, but she wasn't lipping at all. Stop the madness. I didn't see the other performances, but it is what it is. Atleast YDK this is the one that stands out.

With songs like these... (43,695) by Eternal from Italy
After listening to Thirsty and now YDKWTD, I'm adamant that Mariah shouldn't release another official single before the album is out. Who knows what other gems might be on the album that we haven't heard yet? YDKWTD has that retro, 70s disco-inspired vibe that is so popular now. It reminds me of Jennifer Hudson's recent single I Can't Describe The Way I Feel actually. Very feel good and breezy. It would be perfect if she enlisted some house DJ producers like Duke Dumont, Tensnake or even Daft Punk to remix it into a deep house anthem. MC might just turn this whole era around with the quality of her new music. I have said before that's the only way she can salvage the mistakes of Triumphant and YME. Why the heck did she release a monotonous song like You're Mine when there were so many other great songs on the album? Her vocals for the Today Show were more or less how she has sounded in the past few years. Pitchy and rather nasal. Vocal-wise, I don't think we should put our hopes up for anything resembling Daydream or Emotions, I'm just happy if it's better than MOAIA.
