I think you need to be a bit careful who you call crazy. Speaking personally, since you addressed everyone on this board in your post, not once did I ever call her crazy. I even stated how much I enjoyed the interview on Fallon. MC has always been full of tangents. Still though, leaving a long message on Facebook at 3:30 am doesn't seem a bit odd to you? That's all anyone here is saying. No one is putting her in a mental institution with any of their posts. No one is calling her crazy. Geez. But note, this is exactly how it started in 2001, random messages on her website. Let's hope it's what others like Licia and Deedre have said: stress to get the album done and done right.

Stephen/ Jimmy Fallon video of her singing for the fans (39,845) by Licia from USA
Stephen, I just try to respect everyone's opinion even if I don't agree. I welcome being able to have adult discussions without all the drama.
That was a cool moment. She sounded good and she was so funny. I died when she said she stayed around doing sh*t she didn't want to do. Lol.

The madness (39,844) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
Mariah gave a very clear, well articulated explanation for the Facebook message and even gave a disclaimer. So how is she crazy again? I'm starting to believe some of you just want something to be wrong. Why would you even say she's having another breakdown or that this is going to be Glitter 2? Would that make some of you happy to see that happen? I'm more concerned about some of you, if that's really the case. You guys are reading way to far into things.

To Faith (39,842) (39,843) by Alex from England
Mariah is not 20 anymore, she's not gonna create a brand new image of herself. Her stage persona is to be that sexy woman that acts like a diva calling people "dahling". She was forced to play a role for 7 years and if we do wonder why she's never changed her image in the past 16 years, well I think the answer is simple: she is real and true to who she is. Sure it'd be nice for her to re-invent herself for us fans, but the truth is she is a human being who cares a lot more for the emotional aspect of music than for the gimmicks. I am sure she knows people have been put off by her not changing things up a bit, but I will always appreciate the fact that she has been the same woman ever since she broke free of the Tommy situation. Mariah will be Mariah and she's not gonna start "twerking" or shaving one side of her head to gain interest. I think we should realize that Mariah does care about her fans a lot, to the point that she's given us a dance remix of Triumphant with brand-new vocals, just for us. Also, she released TAOLG because she knows some of her fans have been praying for an old-school song moment from her, keeping in mind that she doesn't even have to and yet she did. I had the pleasure to meet her through a contest I won and spent 20 minutes talking to her and all I can say is she is a funny warm real woman that just loves to have a laugh. Anyway she is 43, she is a grown married woman with 2 children, she is not gonna change so embrace who she is or move on.

After the letter (39,842) by Faith from Uae
I did feel concern, because at the end we fans want the best for her and to be on top. But you know, maybe this was a marketing move, grabbing people's attention so they hear the song. Anyway, it seems Mariah also reached the [...] that no one can manage her or decide for her anything but herself, like her image. If her husband couldn't convince her to tone it down, who else can convince her? Honestly, if Mariah wants to claim the top spot again, she needs to reinvent herself, not just her image, but to take risks like trying to train or fix her voice. Mariah started as the girl next door, then the sexy bird, and in 2005 she became the ultimate diva. Untill this day, a new image is much needed because people got bored. Like why not change the blonde look into black? It will be refreshing. And change the personality from the diva into the person who gets involved visually with poor people and building schools for them etc. Or even maybe the stereotype who doesn't give a damn "aka Rihanna style" and now Miley Cyrus. I dunno, but at this current state, I think she [...] needs to take risks and step out of her comfort zone.

I agree with Trish, post #39,814 (39,839) by William Mercado from Philippines
I was also looking for something with amazing lyrics. The song is good, it's just that I feel that the lyrics aren't that great. I was expecting the lyrics to be on the same level as "Till The End of Time".

TAOLG (39,838) by B from USA
After hearing the finished version, I can tell the difference. She's an artist and she's emotional and dramatic and that's why we love her. After watching the interview, I think people are taking it too seriously. It was fun and campy. She was playing it up. Her vocals are top notch even though I dislike the lyrics to the verses.

Not enough support (39,837) by Tony from Ireland
Hahaha. Carla, Im completely agree with you. Although I'm leaving for Ireland, I'm from Spain and the same situation happened there years ago. Everybody was complaining that she wasn't coming to Spain enough and then when she was there everybody was trying to bring her down with silky comments and all kind of stuff about how fat or how low she was looking since Luis Miguel. Cameron. She is not just one of the most talented singers ever, but one of the most amazing human beings that this industry has ever known. Nobody remembers when she was drunk on that speech. Even there she was amazing. I do love Mariah and I will recognize if she ever makes any mistakes, but so far she is just amazing and she deserves more than what she's getting. Look at the Katy Perry fans and how they fight for her. I just wish we could for once be as perseverate as they are. Love and peace, and MC on my stereo.

Thank you! Finally someone reacting to the "know-it-all" people. Apparently, there are too many shrinks here who can deeply and wisely read between the lines complicated, well-coded aspects of human behavior carrying a subliminal message of mighty importance foreshadowing a downfall about to overwhelm MC. For crying out loud.

I disagree (39,834) by Lee from USA
If her popularity is waning, why is her Twitter followers steadily rising from 12-13 million to 14 million? If Nick is being thrown under the bus, then why is he still with her and singing her praises? It is funny that Mimi could be labeled as "nut-job", yet she could hold down a husband. I am tired of the whole image debate. Mimi was having fun at Fallon's show and people are complaining. She has never smoked crack, slept with her dancers or employees, made porn, nor had she been investigated for child abuse or molestation.

Letting go all Mimi's antics ain't easy (39,833) by Blake from USA
Ok as an American fan since 1991, I have to agree with the people saying American fans lost interest. However, I never did and never will, but there is much to be said about Mariah post Sony. One, she went on her own, she left the ballad Mariah at Sony really and became an R-N-B Queen, which for me I liked but most fans will only remember her for her love songs, ballads and Christmas song. That being said, Mariah lives in a bubble where she comes off to the public as loosely wrapped, uncomfortable, awkward, she puts her foot in her mouth a lot of the time. Her interviews I can't even watch anymore. Jimmy Fallon was cool but she still didn't even attempt the hight note at the end of the song. Most of my friends call her a "whack job". She throws Nick under the bus a lot. "No I don't want Nick on the show, just JD" and clearly no matter whom is managing her, they could give a sh*t about her image, which is in the gutter. Because she lives in this bubble, she is unaware of her lost popularity. She is so genuine to us lambs, but her image is a train wreck and because of how she is clueless to it she will not gain any new fans and unfortunately with her image and age, radio stopped caring with a lot of US fans. I will always support her, but I disagree with so much about Mrs. Carey Cannon.

I also agree with Stephen (39,832) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
In that I think the Facebook post was not needed from my pov. Of course, I'm not MC though. She's done this before too. Remember Michael Jackson's funeral? At the time I didn't feel she needed to go on GMA and apologize to the public. I realize the vocal wasn't her best, but her performance was understandable under the circumstances, yet it was important enough to her to apologize, so she did.

Stacey/Licia (39,830) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I think the Facebook message could definitely come off as strange, moreso than the Fallon appearance. Licia brought up some really good points. Mariah is super-sensitive, and with the internet now, unless Mariah lived in hiding, she would know that lambs/fans were not happy with Triumphant, the luke-warm reception to Almost Home (I liked it, but it isn't a song I have had on repeat, I love TAOLG) followed by the controversy of AI and issues with the melody performance, Beautiful performances videos and injury. When I read the message on Facebook post it seemed like a clear case that so easily happens with social media - reaching for the platform without really thinking it through ie "in react mode". She wrote the message at 3:30am after getting news that she knew would bother her. That can come off as way over the top. I think in her own way she was drawing attention to that in the message, knowing that it could be perceived as "Here MC goes off her rocker again." Being a diva and making a big distress call, I think the vast majority of people didn't notice the difference between the two versions. Mariah seems to be the type of person that if for example you hang a picture on the wall, and it is not straight, it would bug her until she went over to the picture and made it straight. It seems to me, something close to that happened here. Whether people recognized the difference or not, she knew about it, and it was going to bug her until she set it straight. I don't know that everything is all hunky dory with the label either. I have felt this way for a while. It will be interesting to aee if she decides to leave when her contract is filled.

To Tony from Ireland (39,829) by Carol from Spain
I agree with you regarding the American fans. I believe they just got lazy and uninterested in her as years go by. Wonder why? Or what do they want from Mariah anyway, bcause the old Mariah everyone seems to love isn't coming back no matter how you put it. Competition keeps releasing trash and even Riri is getting an icon award at the AMA's for a reason unknown to the mankind and American listeners just keep on litening to crap. I understand she changed, I accept you don't have to like everything she does (altough I don't agree with that), but the problem is US fans stopped caring for Mariah. You just did. I'm sorry for that
(come on hit me back lol).

Licia/Stacey (39,828) by Stephen from London, United Kingdom
Your response to Stacey was very nicely put. I hadn't thought of it like that, and perhaps you're right. When you think about it, I suppose we all go OTT when one obstacle arrives after another, irrespective of how minor it is. Maybe, that's it. I still think the letter was OTT, and indeed unnecessary, but I appreciate more why Mariah may have done it. I don't want to sound patronising, but can I also thank you for posting such a mature response to those of us who have commented on Mariah's behaviour over the past few days. Rather than calling us crazy, like some deluded nut jobs have on here, you've actually addressed our views in a way which makes me reflect upon my own view, and provoked a discussion. Other people, who I can't even be bothered to address, would rather name call, just because people express a view, or concern for Mariah. Nobody can look at that Fallon interview and tell me that Mariah was not acting beyond quirky. We all love that about her and I'm not surprised by it, but combined with the letter and a few of her comments, I can't help but feel a level of concern. That's all.

Ms. Giselle (39,827) by Licia from USA
She had been to the dentist when she named her dog. That's the other medicine she was referring too. She said that on the Jimmy Fallon interview.

Crazy fans/ Facebook letter (39,826) by clueey23 from USA
I can not believe the people in this site. I think you all are the crazy ones, talking about MC being crazy. I think the interview with Angie and Jimmy were great and honest. Some of you watch or listen to something once and miss the comedy and fun of it and label her as crazy. Calling this breakdown number 2 because she cares about her craft enough to explain that the version on Facebook wasn't the right mix of the song is very dismissive. MC is an artist, music is her life. So if you created a song from scratch and had spent so much time perfecting everything and some rookie engineer uploaded the wrong mix to premiere the song to millions around the world, you would be pissed too. MC is just cool and humble enough to actually communicate with her fans about something like this. The simple fact that the song hasn't even been released to radio and has this much buzz is awesome. Sometimes I think people or fans forget they don't actually know MC and they want her to be what's in their heads, that's not only sick but crazy.

Ms. Giselle (39,825) by Will from England
When Nick got her Cha Cha, she had returned from the dentist and was still a little bit under whatever they gave her. It wasn't anything serious, and that wasn't the first time that she mentioned it. Maybe it was the View or somewhere like that when she talked about the story. Look guys, at 3.30 am, when you're tired, and you've been working hard on the album, recovering from an arm injury that still isn't at 100%, and someone tells you that there was a mistake about which version of the song that was uploaded, I would have flipped a table or two. To have some newbie screw up and release a version of a song that you consider to be incomplete and not finished, along with the fact that the song is very personal to you and you want people to experience the version you consider complete, and not being told until two days later I think is quite a good reason to be "on the floor of the bathroom at 3am". She obviously cares about this song quite a bit, enough to have it released even if it is not a commercial single or whatever and for someone to (in her mind) ruin the moment may have just deflated her just a bit. As for the Fallon interview, I did not see any behaviour that would give me cause for concern. It was Mariah just being more Mariah. I guess over the years she's been more restrained in how much of her personality that to see her going off on tangents may be slightly alarming. Breakdown? I think Mariah knows what to do to avoid that at this point.

MC's Facebook letter / Fallon interview (39,824) by Ms. Giselle from USA
The interview was weird, I blame it for earlier, her "splash" she said it was cider. She should never drink before an interview. When she started to say she named her dog when she was on certain "medicine", I knew it had went so far to the left, I couldn't watch anymore. I felt so uncomfortable. Her letter is weird, The part that has me is the "sitting on the bathroom floor at 3am mad". Really? It's all just weird.

Erratic, eccentric behavior (39,823) by B from USA
Who knows why she was so upset over something that insignificant. Maybe something else was/is going on. Either way, I'll continue to support her.

Stacey (39,822) by Licia from USA
I don't think this is breakdown number 2 (at least I hope it not). I just think she had a moment. She thought everything was going according to plan and once again there was an obstacle. Even though it was a small thing, I can certainly understand her being upset. From nobody liking Triumphant to the bad Beautiful performances and the injury this era hasn't exactly been going great. Yeah I might have flipped a little too. She seems ok now though. She looked absolutely gorgeous and seemed happy in the pics from last night at the Out 100.

Stacey (39,820) by Stephen from London, United Kingdom
I agree. See my earlier post. I mean, yes I'd be mad if that happened, and yes I hear the differences, but none of the changes change the substance of the song. Thus, a message at 3.30 am from the bathroom floor seems a little odd, and OTT. Perhaps, she's just so into this project, and the message is a reflection of that. Sidenote, the song is growing on me, despite there being no hook. There seems to be no plan for a video or release to radio, so something tells me that this is not the first commercial single.
