Covers / new album (40,922) by Commodore from USA I feel like Mariah is gonna do some ol school R&B covers. I think the covers Mariah is doing are Dim All the Lights which she sung in a recent ustream video to Jermash lol. She song it more R&B than the orginal version. I also think that she will cover a Whitney Houston song but one of her unfamous song like a non single so people wont really compare the two divas idk. I also think shes gonna do Shirley Murdock's As We Lay, since she tweeted Shirley last year and said that was her fav song lol. (Sunday 2 February 2014; 2:35)

Isaac Ortiz: Bobby Caldwell cover (40,921) by Taylor from USA I believe Mariah kinda covered the song for the bonus/international edition of Charmbracelet. She sang the chorus of the original as the chorus of Got A Thing 4 You featuring Da Brat rapping. The song felt more like a Da Brat song featuring Mariah, I feel, but her vocals are so smooth and sexy that I didn't really mind. However, I would love for her to remake the entire song. Lamb_O_Chop (40,920) by Isaac from USA Thank you for replying back. I appreciate it. And those are some great covers. I am a fan of Diana Ross as well. And I definitely agree. Mariah has done a great job with the many covers she has recorded. I'd be ecstatic if she covered "What you won't do for love" by Bobby Caldwell. I think she'd do an awesome job. Also, I'd love it if Mariah would cover a Michael Jackson song. "Shake your body (down to the ground)" or "Can you feel it". Who knows maybe one day it will happen. Yours, mine or any one else's. I believe I've profusely expressed my undying love for the fabulous "Do You Think Of Me" in a previous post to you (40,539), but isn't it a stone groove darling? A true gem I say. Right along with Slipping Away. Two of my many favorite unreleases by our queen. A song from another artist I would love to see Mimi cover is "Reach Out And Touch" by the supreme diva herself Miss Diana Ross (the boss), I'll also take a studio version of Love Hangover please and thank you. Mariah taught us well to keep things classy. What is funny though is people are "disliking" our apology posts using the thumbs down button lol. I mean come on! I also agree with your post about Obsessed. It was as great song and a major diss on a rapper who has been dissing other people for years and I don't think any other female artist stood upto him. Obsessed (40,915) by 123 from USA I'm a guy and I love this song. When I heard it I thought, what! Mariah snapped! From the clever play on words (MC to MC, when you need an MC), to the slick talkin lyrics, and the super hard beat. I loved how they started mimicking a Dre production by playing the heavy keys at the 3:30 mark of the song. The icing of the cake was "you're all up in my George Foreman (grill)". For someone who most people brush off as pop fluff to pull off such a hot dis record, no other female in the game could have pulled off this song. Especially not someone who started off singing soul ballads. This song shows off her versatility as a singer/songwriter/artist. If anyone else would have attempted this, it would have come off cheesy. (Saturday 1 February 2014; 5:44)

There are times where there is a lot of bickering and jabs being thrown back and forth on this board by others and it is refreshing to see people work something out. Obsessed (40,911) by Manny from U.S. I love "Obssessed" and the video. I like how it was a shot at M&M. It's a fun song and video not meant to be taken too serious. When I was in college, my schoolmates would sing it when a particular professor walked in to class. The lady was a self-absorbed megalomaniac. I started singing it one day and told them the song reminded me of her since she thought the world revolved around her. So it stuck and it was an inside joke. When I listen to the song, it reminds me of those days. When out of boredom from school, I made Mariah reference jokes. Lol. (Friday 31 January 2014; 20:37)

Special moment (40,905) by OGmattyICE from US I guess I'm one of those people who don't go to the movie theater all that often, maybe twice a year at best, but I just went to go see Anchorman 2. I thought the movie was horrible and wouldn't recommend it. But there is a scene later in the movie that saved me from walking out, and it's a scene that starts with the music playing a clip of "Genius Of Love" by the Tom Tom Club, and at first I thought it was Mariah, but it was just the original version. But just thought I'd share, it seems like everywhere I go, I can't get away from Mariah. I guess it was just meant to be. I love her so much. (Friday 31 January 2014; 16:48)

Thanks for clearing that up because I was totally lost and hadn't put two and two together. But after reading your explanation, I believe you may be correct in your assumption. And if infact Ms B was referring to me, then I redirect my message to her and will also add that calling my opinion on an album and vocal style (in which I voiced respectfully) "bleak and ignorant" is quite childish and unnecessary. You don't have to agree, but there's no need to be rude and desrespectful about your difference in opinion. Sidenote: I loved Charmbracelet and Memoirs, and probably listen to and enjoy songs from those albums more than the others. Do I want her to whisper through a whole album? No. But I do appreciate that register and just want to acknowledge that. I love when Mariah uses every part of her voice effectively, and wouldn't want her to just sing one way all the time. Whether it's belting, whistling, or whispering. The fact that she has so many different colors and textures to her voice is the reason she's my favorite singer of all time in the first place. Obsessed / new album (40,903) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I love obsessed! It's a fun song, very catchy and summer-y. Even my non-Mariah friends really like the song. I don't really mind the auto tune. It's one of those songs which prove that Mariah is capable of catering to different audiences and different types of music. Also I agree with clueey, I loved Memoirs (every single song) along with some of the amazing remixes we heard from that album. About the new album, it seems like the indirect promotions have already started with collaborators dropping Mariah's name in recent interviews. As someone pointed out on this board, it must not be a coincidence that all of a sudden people are talking about working with Mariah right now. I'm so excited for the new single! Obsessed / thoughts (40,899) by clueey23 from USA I love "Obsessed". I think it was cool for a female to come hard like that to Eminem without being a rapper. Like that whole song to me, shut the whole Eminem situation down. It was a perfect hit song at the time. "It must be the weed, it must be the e, cause you be popping hood, you get it popping." Lol. My favorite live performance was in NYC, I remember it streamed. But MC dips down when she sings the line, "ain't gone feed ya, I'mma let ya starve" and puts that bravato on "starve". I loved the "Memiors" album though, it was grown and intimate in a way. I love every song on that album. And seriously wish they would've treated it right. The remixes from that album that were fantastic, "Hate U" "Ribbon" with Ludacris and The Dream and "inseparable" with Trey Songz are my favorites. Wish would have gotten the "Angles Advocate". I wish we could've gotten it for free or just released. And they should've promoted "Angles cry" with NeYo and "Up out my face" with Nicki. Like the songs should've been on radio. That's when I begin to realize radio sucks and only focuses on certain songs and artists. "Up Out My Face" video I still watch it to this day. Obsessed (40,897) by Pablo from Spain I'm a guy who listens to Obsessed quite a bit and enjoy the song. It's one of the few songs I actually listen to on "Memoirs" (the others being Betcha Goin Know, H.A.T.E. U and Up Out My Face). It'd be nice if people would learn to not use "all or none" statements about Mariah as we all have our likes and dislikes of her song. (I don't like Dreamlover, Emotions or Hero, but I don't begrudge the Lambs who do like them and don't say "only this type of fan likes this song".) People are individuals and like what they like. Heh, it's funny that I love Charmbracelet, but Memoirs is probably my least fave album. (Friday 31 January 2014; 12:43)

When I specifically asked if B was referring to you, it was only because you were the only one (up until that time) to reply to B's last message where she wrote that Mariah heard the bad reviews of Charmbracelet and came up with We Belong Together/TEOM. Your reply was something like Charmbracelet's reviews were bogus and that people blame Mariah no matter if she sings in her lower or higher register. "Art of letting go" and "Somebody that I used to know" (40,895) by Critter from USA I happened to hear these two songs back to back and suddenly wondered if Mariah may be channeling it a little bit. Dreamlover (40,894) by Bill from the UK Being a UK fan, hearing Mariah on the radio is a rare treat. When she is played, it's usually an adult contemporary station playing Hero. I was waiting in all day for a delivery on Wednesday, and had the radio on (Magic 105.4 for those in the UK). I almost peed my pants when I heard the first bars of Dreamlover playing! I haven't heard that on the radio here since 1995! The only songs I've heard in the last ten years are Hero, Without You, I'll Be There, We Belong Together and of course AIWFCIY.
