Stacey / #Beautiful (Explicit) (38,249)
by Edward from USA
| |
|
|
Stacey, I just talked to Mariah and she said she wanted to hire us to be part of her promotion team. There's only one condition: I have to go by #Edward, you would have to go by #Stacey, lol. Now that the explicit version is rising on iTunes, it is likely #Beautiful might crack the top 13 next week. With combined sales, she's actually #11 now. She is also doing well on Amazon. With the BET performance and Macey's, we might be looking at a top ten if not higher.

Monroe (38,248)
by Courtney from USA

Jenny, the glasses Monroe wears aren't a phase, they're prescribed because she has a lazy eye from being born prematurely. Little girls play in their mothers closet all the time and some eventually end up fashion designers for it like Stella McCartney did.

I just wanted to say that I love this song so much. Has anyone else noticed that the movie version has slightly different lyrics?

I agree (38,246)

I agree with everybody who says she should be making more appearances. I can't believe how strong the song is doing in the UK, a territory usually allergic to anything Mariah and it's doing it with no promo here. What a frustrating set of events.

#Beautiful (38,245)
by Stacey from USA

|

Shocks me too the song is going up the charts with little promotion. It kills me this song could be higher with a few appearances. Why isn't she going on the talk shows? Hello? Gosh, she doesn't even have to sing when she appears. Just walking out with the song playing, talking about her life, new album, Idol would be enough promotion. Man, why is she paying her people the big bucks when some little fan like myself has it figured out? Lol.

#Beautiful and new album (38,241)
by Lainsky from Philippines
| |
|
|
I am just excited about this new album. Hopefully, it will perform on charts and sales close to, if not duplicate, Daydream and The Emancipation Of Mimi, so she sill set a record for this decade, if MC achieves that feat. No.1 album and song in the same week or more. I wonder if Beautiful will make it to #1 in the US. How is it going, fellow lambs in America?

The new era (38,240)

#Beautiful the lead single from the upcoming album is classic Carey. Her voice is still the voice. 7/23, MC's birthday backwards genius/clever release date. I think this album is going to be very similar to The Emancipation Of Mimi.

#Beautiful climbs 2 spot to No. 15 (38,239)
by Edward from USA
| |

It is impressive how #Beautiful, with little to no promotion, is slowly climbing the charts, and now it's sitting comfortably at No. 15 on BB Hot100. If #Beautiful manages to keep some momentum until the album is released, it might actually crack the top 5 by then with combined album and single sales. I'm really hoping for some good promotion.

The term "9 times out of 10" is not to be taken literally , it's just a figure of speech meaning "more than likely" or "more often than not often". Of course everyone won't respond the same as us, I was solely referring to the people of the general public (non fan or foe) that just so happen to like her song enough to download it (or that actually liked her on AI enough to research her etc.). The point I was basically trying to make (in more general terms) is that it would be more common than un common for people to research something or someone that peaks their interest at the moment especially with how easily assessable information is these days (IMO). But I'm glad you generally got what I meant. *Listens to live version of "Vanishing" from the same set*

Mariah's mental health (38,237)
by Jimbo from UK
| |
|
|
People speculating that Mariah has some sort of anxiety disorder need to leave her the hell alone and keep their rumours to themselves. I'm all for criticising Mariah when she deserves it, but speculating on someone's mental health is totally out of line. Even superstars should be entitled to that fragment of privacy. They are humans too. Believe it or not.

Glasses (38,236)
by Jenny from South Africa

Ok, I didn't realize toddlers could need prescribed glasses. My bad, my bad. Thought that only starts happening around school age. But I did also say she always looks cute. I really haven't met any toddlers who need glasses, so clearly I was a little ignorant there lol. But I repeat I always think she looks adorable. And Roc too.

Isn't Monroe still a toddler? (38,233)
by Edward from USA
| |

|
Many celebrities project their fashion style on their offspring, e.g. Katie Holmes on Suri Cruise. It is not fair to rob children from their childhood by dressing them like circus poodles. Are we going to start listing the top 10 worst dressed babies of the year? Next would be the top 10 soon to be worst dressed unborn babies based on how their mothers fashion sense. Mnroe looks just fine to me. Her sunglasses are just that, baby glasses.

Roc and Roe / Edward (38,232)
by Stacey from USA
| |
|
|
I've always thought MC dresses them cute. MC on the other hand? Different discussion. Moving on, lol. Maybe Roe needs those glasses. My son is 2 and needs glasses. He is farsighted. Anyway, they are her kids. MC is responsible for them. I have enough to worry about with my own children. Edward, it surprises me there isn't more promotion for the single. Is that the way things are done now? Release the song and hope for the best? That's now I would run my business. But whatever. A few appearances on some shows would go a long way to helping a strong lead single up the charts. You have to keep buzz afloat to help sales once the album drops. This whole process just doesn't seem like anyone cares. *shrugs*

I know full well the effect an amazing song can have on the public, but the point I'm making is that even if it has a positive effect, not everyone responds in the same way as you or I. Hence, why I'd dispute any suggestion of 9 out of 10 people clicking on older performances for example. That's an extraordinarily high figure and unrealistic IMO. Nevertheless, I'm sure there is a a high percentage of people that do, so I'm not disputing what you are saying, just the figure quoted. In any event, let's just be happy we have the old clips *plays Don't Play that Song for Me on YouTube* lol.

by Stephen from London, United Kingdom

I totally agree with you both. Mariah really does need to get out there and promote #Beautiful. She needs to understand that she's not just promoting the single, but that she's also promoting the album by plugging the single, and thus adding to the buzz she and her team have created. #Beautiful is for me, a much better lead single that ILT, and I liked ILT. I hope the content of this album is as good as #Beautiful, because if it's not, she may not have any viable radio hit. Hopefully, she's saving her energy for the album launch, and for a big push. A performance at the BET awards would help, but for me she needs to do one or two more carefully placed TV appearances. I understand that she has other priorities these days, but one or two more appearances won't hurt.

Monroe (38,228)
by Jenny from South Africa
| |
|

Suri's parents get criticized a lot, because she is dressed too adult with her high heels. Monroe is dressed appropriately for her age. The only thing that I would change is her wearing those glasses constantly. I'm sure she'll grow out of that phase eventually though. But she always looks cute in my opinion.

Stacey /#Beautiful (38,227)
by Edward from USA

Stacey, I was starting to believe I was the only one who thought that way, hence I hadn't posted much about it. Now that we have a good single that is getting decent airplay, something she doesn't get much these days, it only makes sense they make sure it stays afloat. I read she's performing on the BET Awards on the 29th, I hope it is true. Some remixes would be great to boost #Beautiful up.

#Beautiful remixes (38,226)
by Brad from USA
| |
|
|
Hi fellow lambs. Yes, I do have to agree with Edward that it is somewhat bleak to have an "initial" single from a Mariah album with little promo or live performance support. To me, those "first single" performances used to be like events unto themselves, and not nerve cringing events, like as of late. Nonetheless, I do think to myself, how many artists can even still make a top 20 hit more than 23 years after their debut. So just a little perspective there. But in a "distant glimmer of hope" moment, MC did just retweet re: Joey Arbagey having "something #Beautiful in the works". So hopefully, at the least, that means some commercially viable remixes to give the song a radio boost. Be well to yourselves and others.

#Beautiful, TJ, and other stuff (38,225)
by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway

I really think #Beautiful is a wonderful song, it's one of my favorite Mariah songs since "I'll be lovin' u long time". Isn't it really [...] to [...] Mariah on top of the [...] again? And TJ, I also hope Mariah will come to Europe this time. I havent seen her since october 2003 in London. I almost got in to her Halloween party, but just almost. Maybe we should hook up if she comes to Europe, I don't know that many Norwegian fans. By the way, my niece is turning 8 years this week, and I have bought her Music Box besides other [...]. Hope to turn somebody to a lamb, or at least to like her [...].

Oh I agree, #Beautiful deserves better treatment. I think the song has the potential to do better than ILT did for TEOM. She needs to do some TV shows (hello Ellen?) in between now and the 4th performance. This song has done really well with little to no promotion since it's release. But, it won't continue to rise with no promotion, MC. Are you listening IDJ?
