Bring It On Home (36,694)
by Stephen from London, United Kingdom

Wow, Mariah totally surprised me with that one. It's such a good song, possibly her best piece of work for a number of years in my opinion. I really really like it. It's soulful, with a gospel feel, with a bit of jazz and rnb. It's a great song, with a great feel and a wonderful message. Songs like this can possibly be cheesy, but this doesn't feel cheesy at all. I'm very proud of Mariah for this and for the way she rallied behind President Obama over the past couple of days. I'm really glad she's got her political game on and is putting her immense fame to good use.

With this particular song Mariah once again shows she's still a force unto herself as a singer and songwriter. Her voice is giving me the much needed faith I have in Mariah. Songs like these make me a very proud fan and forever a loyal supporter. On another note, I appreciate the simple production and the old school Mariah vibe.

Exactly. And I hope it also shows lambs who were griping about JD a week ago, that even though it is with JD, it doesn't have the usual "y'all know who this is" and that he's capable of producing a good song which isn't a WBT part 100. It's like 100% all over again.

I got that feeling too from her tweet that she sent him, but I hope she realizes that some of her fans really needed to hear that song. I never lost faith in her, but alot of her fans have. JD in a way helped restore some of her fans faith.

Ok, so the complete live version of this track leaked. Just on time for Pres. Obama's win and all I can say is wow. Two thumbs up for Mariah, her vocals, the back up singers and melody - very Daydream-ish. I like it. I've been longing for her to sing an old school, real ballad. I wish they'll release this record.

Did she bring it on home ? (36,687)
by Licia from USA

Yes she did. This is why I never give up on her or get extra mad when she puts out something I don't like. She always finds some way to bring me back. Although I don't want an album full of ballads (ala Music Box, second least fav album), I hope she can put a few gems like this on there.

Hear say, but I only saw one arguing (36,685)
by Carol from Spain

Nicki says that Mariah talked back at her, but the truth is that on the leaked video we only see Nicki slam Mariah. As a fan, I am protecting my idol, but the truth is that I didn't see Mariah missbehave in any way. In 20 years, I never heard anyone say that Mariah talked trash at someone. People talk that she has diva manners, but no one ever said that she curses at people. Nicki is using all this scheme to get some exposure. I believe that, in time, Mariah will talk about this. Whatever happen we will never know, not really.

She did look beautiful, although I voted for the other guy (reference to Independence Day), lol. That is the kind of look that suits Mariah. You don't have to "give away the farm" to look sexy. Sometimes less is more. And those heels? Girl has got skills walking in those. Hehe.

RibbonB, you are so right. Mariah has her little diva things, but she is never disrespectful to other people. Randy, I agree with you. I love Mariah's appearance recently. She looks really classy and gorgeous.

Of course, none of us is perfect, but we've never seen Mariah slamming other artists and picking fights. MC goes about her business of being a singer/songwriter, now mom and wife and yes a diva. But if MC being a diva grates folks nerves so much, it's really their problem. One unprofessional outburst by Nicki caught on tape is one thing, but to carry that over onto her reality show is just opportunistic and petty. I wasn't interested in Nicki before and I certainly won't watch her show. I only hope Idol makes it because of MC, otherwise that show is played out.

Look at how classy MC looks when she is speaking by the first lady's side about voting for Obama. This is how she should dress more often.

RibbonB, I couldn't agree more with your post regarding Nicki. Maybe Mariah isn't perfect, but she deserves respect (like everybody else). But maybe Nicki figured out that it's a perfect and free way of promoting herself.

Yes, Nicki needs to have several seats. She is way too full of herself. I think her little excuse of a "reality" show is going to flop. And she is just doing what many lessers have done before her, she's using Mariah's name for the attention. We saw it with Macy Gray, Madonna, Christina, and the original obsessed Clown rapper. It's unfortunate, because Idol had a chance to end with some class, instead they funked it up big time by adding the latest rap clown female edition - Nicki. Lol.

Is it just me or does Nicki need a reality check? Does she really believes the things she says? She knows who Mariah Carey is or not? That girl is a trip to be forgotten. Poor person or excuse for one.

Now Love Takes Time video is on VH1 Soul. Two Mariah videos in two hours, not a bad night lol, except I can't sleep. I have to say though I like this video and don't see anything wrong with it, so I'm not sure why she didn't or why it wasn't on the #1s dvd.

Glitter deprivation (36,669)
by nikki from usa

Virgin dropped the ball the whole way around where this soundtrack was concerned. The Glitter project was an interesting debacle. Initially, the movie was promoted well, but there wasn't much news on when it was debuting. By the time I found out it had been out for 2 weeks. Then, I went to go see it 2 weeks later and it was gone. What movie is there and gone in a month? I had a store in the mall back then, I played the Glitter album on repeat all day. You wouldn't believe the amount of people who asked me about the music that was playing, most didn't believe that it was Mariah. I had 5 ask me where they could get it and 3 of them came back to tell me they'd been to 5 music stores and couldn't find the Glitter soundtrack anywhere. So, I went out and looked - they were right. If Virgin is only going to release half a million copies, then only half a million copies can get sold. Most people don't know Virgin only had rights to US and Europe. Sony still had rights to it over in Asia which is why it did so well over there. Sony actually promoted it.
