Re: Vinyl re-issues (95,455) (95,464) by Bobby A from United States
Well it looks like Memoirs is not saying remastered on MC's website because it is the vinyl from the limited edition Memoirs box set from 2009. I am still going to purchase anyway because of the chance it may be 150 grams. Merry Christmas is the same imited edition vinyl that was released in 2012.

For those interested, check out the #MC30 story on the "We Miss Music" site. There are multiple limited edition vinyl reissues exclusive to places like Target, Urban Outfitters and VinylMePlease.

Re: The Rarities tracklist (95,459) (95,462) by Bobby A from United States
I just thought about the eclectic list of producers on The Rarities. Could Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis have produced Out Here On My Own for the Glitter soundtrack? And since James "Big Jim" Wright was MC's musical director at the time of Lullaby Of Birdland's live recording then he has to be listed as the co-producer. I am pretty sure Loris Holland and Randy Jackson co-produced Mesmerized. Daniel Moore will probably be listed as the co-producer on Close Your Eyes (Acoustic).

Sure thing Tevin. You receive a live in the studio sound with vinyl records compared to CD's. The higher the vinyl gram quality a vinyl record is the better the sound. Most new vinyl records are 150 grams and up. Remastered vinyl records are even better. I recommend the Audio Technical belt drive turntable. They are really a reasonable priced excellent quality turntable. I have one myself. I am planning on purchasing their direct drive turntable soon. In order to play their turntable you will need a music system unit that has an auxillary port connection (red and white plugs). Then you will need some good quality bookshelf or floor speakers. The vintage floor speakers to me give you the best sound. However, newer bookshelf speakers are good too. Stay away from the speaker brands like Curtis, Emerson, and GPX. The sound quality with those brands is horrible. Check out your local Goodwill or other thrift stores for a good quality music system and speakers from brands like Sony, JVC, Panasonic, and Philips. That's how I created my music system. When you get your first turntable, I will send you a vinyl record as a gift.

The Spanish versions of her hits were okay, but to me the best tracks on that album were her duets with Luis Fonsi, Cuando No Es Contigo and my favorite cover of hers, Contigo En La Distancia.

Robert do you have any other suggestions for purchasing a record player? I was thinking about jumping on the vinyl bandwagon to see how I like the sound. Is there any difference in sound quality with vinyl vs cd?

This is MC at her best right here. I wonder if we will get All I Live For as the official first single.

Re: Vinyl re-issues (95,443) (95,455) by Bobby A from United States
Does this mean that Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas II You, and Memoirs have been remastered again since their first release on vinyl? I have all three already. Oh, well I guess I will order all 17 again. This is the best day ever as a Lamb. No other day comes close to it except the release day of TEOM. I guess I better buy me a direct drive turntable to really hear the full live experience of the Tokyo concert. Direct drive turntables provide a fuller richer sound compared to belt drive turntables.

This tracklist is better than my little tea cup 3 weeks ago. Wow. I am looking forward to hearing them all especially All I Live For.

It was supposed to go to #1 in 2001 and her first lead single to not achieve it. I’m down to try and make it #1 but I’m afraid the only one who could do that in 2020 is Drake with a feature. Interesting enough he has an album coming out soon called "Certified lover boy".

Same sentiment here. Just to know we''ll be getting 90's lyrics and vocals bring back the excitement of past days.

We should start a social media campaign to get the original version of Loverboy to #1. Now that would be a big moment. #JusticeForLoverboy

I'm very happy with the tracklist. Can't wait to hear all the hidden gems/rarities. I have a feeling it will be like in the older days, when listening to new Mariah songs were a pure pleasure with "Daydream" moments. I also wonder how the "Close my eyes" version will sound. Mariah did save the day with the upcoming releases. Finally something to look forward at this horrible year.

Close My Eyes is an acoustic version. I wonder if it's the version she performed on GMA. To be getting unused tracks from Emotions, Music Box and Daydream eras is unreal.

When I saw 9. Loverboy (Original Firecracker version) I burst out laughing, that's so extra and shady almost like she's saying "Original Firecracker version that Jlo and Tommy stole from me and foiled me in the process". Haha.

Vinyl re-issues (95,443) by Bill from the UK
Wow. Did not see that coming. And I best get saving, all those vinyls will clock in at around £500 plus shipping. Good heavens.

Mariah en Espanol (95,438) (95,442) by Edward from USA
That was a great album, it was a hit in all Latin America. I've often wondered why she never tried a whole project in Spanish again, considering after "Back to Basics", which I love, she didn't have much success with any album or a hit song by herself.
