Free Guy - 2020 - AIWFCIY - Daydream - magnum opus (91,706)
by Nick from Belgium
| |
|
|
While we all are celebrating the no 1 (in 25 years of progress) we cannot forget the incredible use of Fantasy in the trailer of the future movie "Free Guy". Coming in 2020, 25 years after the release of Fantasy. Lets make Fantasy no. 1 for a second time. It's a great song and it embarks the first signs of the liberation of Mariah Carey.
Even though I am still into "classic Mariah", 1995 is the start of something very important in music history and MC's private life. Let's hope Mariah and her team will use the power of 25 years of AIWFCIY for one of her greatest music year ever (1995-1996 era is my favorite era in the MC universe).
Fantasy - Underneath the Stars - One Sweet Day - Always Be My Baby - Long Ago - Melt Away - Forever - Daydream (Interlude) - Looking In.
Everyone is always talking about the magnum opus "Butterfly", I rather think it is "Daydream". And ironically it is something real for me. Because I think this album set's everything in motion to "Butterfly". Which is a great album, don't get me wrong. But it's because without the Fantasy we didn't get Honey, a Breakdown, a Sweetheart, a Crybaby, a Heartbreaker and because It's Like That and We Belong Together.

Congrats. 19 #1's in 2019 (91,704)

Congratulations. Such an iconic song. We all know that entertainment industry is very biased against older women above 40. Not many female singers above 40 that are able to reach the highest peak at Billboard Hot 100 Singles. Only four female singers that were able to break this: Believe: in 1998, Cher (52 years old) All I Want: in 2019, Mariah (49 years old) Music: in 2000, Madonna (42 years old) Cheap Thrills: in 2016, Sia (41 years old)

Congratulations to Mariah and the lambily. AIWFCIY truly stood the test of time and this accolade came late but atleast it got the respect it deserves. I’m so happy for Mariah and for the lambily. This is truly a big win. I’m so happy and emotional at the same time, my love for this woman just grows every day.

Congrats everyone, but the work isn't over. Continue to request at www.slayriah.com by typing in your State and hitting the radio request buttons for your corresponding city. Continue to stream everyday. Buy the CD single as a stocking stuffer, for everyone. The song needs to stay at #1 now through the new year. If someone knows the Billboard beginning and end of a chart week, please share. Let's give Mariah the gift of a #1 for 4 decades.

Seriously, I have no words for this astonishing accomplishment. I'm actually tearing up because of the joy I have for Mariah. Lambs, we made it happen and gave Mariah the gift of a 19th #1 in 2019. Hopefully, Mariah can hold the top spot for at least a second week, we'll see. I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

19th No. 1 (91,697)
by Brad from USA

Congrats to MC and the lambs. This is quite something. Long before her marketing touted all her No. 1 hits, I would write them on the dry erase boards at my college as I studied late at night at Wesleyan University, as a way to distract myself from my studying. At the time, I thought I was the only person in the world noting all her No. 1's. I would leave the list for the early morning classes to see. I'm sure they enjoyed that. Then I would go to the reading room at Olin library on campus and rip the charts out of Billboard magazine on those occasions when she hit No. 1. Today is a moment of both nostalgia and the present day.
It is remarkable and I can't wait to buy my Billboard magazine next week to tuck it away. Blessings to us all and enjoy every moment of it.

Not only breakikg records, she has set about 20 more records with this #1, some of which are almost impossible to break. This is the most important #1 she's had and the only one that doesn't live in the past. No to detract from our efforts, but we didn't make a dent on taking "AIWFCIY' to #1, the general public did, that's why this is her most authentic #1.

Jaw dropping #1 (91,688)
by Stacey from USA
| |
|
|
I saw the headline and my jaw dropped. I kept checking Billboard's website all morning long. If ever there was a song that deserved this honor it's AIWFCIY. To have a song 25 years old achieve this feat is just amazing. Ahhh, there are no words to express how happy I am for this song, for MC. Props to Rock Nation and all of Mariah's PR team. This song belongs in the same league as all the other all-time classics.

#1 finally (91,687)
by cBerr from Canada

This is so long overdue. After everything that's transpired these last few years, this is an outstanding accomplishment. She and her team pulled out all the stops to make this happen. I certainly hope they keep this momentum rolling and do the same thing with Daydream in 2020. Her icon status needs to be cemented with more than just "Merry Christmas".

Mariah has one again proving that her legendary status is not only still in tact, but it continues to be cemented. This #1 achievement is the cherry on top after all the twists, and turns of the last few years. But as always with every chance they get they try to break her down but she comes back even better and even more successful than before. Congratulations to MC and all of her lambily and supporters for this history making #1. This one is definitely special, and shall be celebrated.

AIWFCIY #1 (91,683)
by Bill from the UK

I've just read an article on Billboard that AIWFCIY has indeed (and finally) become Mariah's 19th number one and has topped the Hot 100 (exclamation mark). Merry Christmas everybody, what wonderful news. Congratulations to the US fans for all you did to "make it happen", and to Mariah and her team for all their efforts. 19th number one in 2019.
