19th number one on Billboard (91,682) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Wow it's official. Congratulation to the one and only Miss Mariah Carey. Like so many predicted including me. What a great gift after 25th years. Let's celebrate MC.

I agree. So much has changed in the last 10 years, in fact just in the last 5 years. Streaming has been very kind to Mariah because streaming is what the people want to hear, not what the industyr [sic] force us to hear. The truth is, artists can do gimmicks, expensive videos, sing big notes, do crazy viral stuff, but in the end, it always boils down to a great song. Mariah is proof of it. She makes great music. And if Caution is any proof, her best is yet to come.

I can't believe. I love that MC was basically absent from the charts this decade and then hit us with the most legendary chart run in history. I can't wait for the headlines. Which will only drive more excitement to the song.

Congratulations to Mariah, for scoring her 19th Number 1 hit. We are so proud of her and to those who believed that she would not get to number 1- never underestimate the power of the true lambily.

She did it.. Another world record for Mariah. Her PR team really upped their game this season which has surely helped tremendously. What a fantastic year for our girl.

Re: Caution (91,658) (91,670) by Bill from the UK
But let's not dance around the obvious here. Mariah returns to the top ten on both sides of the Atlantic with an amazing song every year. This proves that all she needs to be a top ten artist again is a brilliant song. To be blunt, her last few albums have been absolutely fine, but there's not been any "wow" song. No Fantasy. No Heartbreaker. No We Belong Together (but plenty of imitations). She's got it in her to knock it out the park as she proves every year, but she opts to instead tell us to GTFO and then follows that with yet another carbon copy of a 15 year old song. Caution was a good album but I doubt it will be remembered like the string of albums Music Box through to Butterfly and then Emancipation. But we are where we are and we love everybody.

Another record breaking moment, I hope her team capitalise this moment. Ugh in my mind she and MJ are the greatest artists. Can’t no female compare to Mariah whether we talking vocals, songwriting or producing. Our girl is it.

Re: Caution (91,655) (91,662) by Terna from Nigeria
"Caution" the title track has also grown on me too. It was just ok at first, but much later on it became a top 5 favorite. Part of this had to do with looking up the lyrics since she raps sings kinda fast like in "Breakdown". Most people say it sounds like an Aaliyah song.

Re: Millennials (91,624) (91,661) by darrian liu from taiwan
I think I vaguely remember WBT as being my favorite song when I was around 5 or 6. And back then Obsessed and TMB were really big hits so I grew up with those songs, but the song that made go all "oh shit" was #Beautiful. Been a lamb ever since.

Re: Caution (91,656) (91,659) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
I'd agree, but then I remembered this isn't 2009, not even 2013 anymore, and so much about the music industry has changed especially in the last decade that being a legend is just not enough to guarantee to sell any new release. Caution was strictly a critical success, none of its tracks are even remotely considered hits and Mariah released it as a middle-aged woman in a notoriously ageist industry, so to have an unreleased title track of an obscure album from an artist that most of the society only remembers during the holidays sell that many (or that few) copies is an achievement.

We're on the cusp of a new decade, and younger artists like Gaga, Katy, Beyoncé and even Rihanna who were crushing it when this decade began have struggled to notch top 5 hits in the last 5 years. We're at a time where supposedly "hot" younger artists who aren't Taylor or Adele are discounting their new albums halfway through the tracking week just so that they can debut at number 1 with less than 150k sales including streaming equivalent units. So y'all need to dial down your expectations even more and start appreciating the little victories because the harsh, honest reality is that it's getting less and less likely that things are gonna be looking up for Mariah commercially from here on out. Caution, the song is no AIWFCIY. It's not even an Obsessed or a #Beautiful. Get humble and grateful, guys. It's Mariah season after all. Be well.

Re: Caution (91,656) (91,658) by We are Lambily from USA
Nobody said I was proud but it's still a achievement, Mariah has been in the industry for 30 years. Not many people can say that. She is still going viral, people talk about her, she owns 2-3 months of the year. The album has been streamed almost 90 millions on Spotify alone. Our queen is winning just not in the way you want to.

Re: Merry Christmas (91,651) (91,657) by MusicfanJ from Germany
What a lovely post Gee. It also warms my heart to see that Mariah is doing so well lately. Even if she doesn't get her next number one (I believe she will) her latest promotion and touring were excelent. She seems to be herself again. After that horror years (with the garbage clan) I'm so happy that we get that super festive shining MC that gives her best and makes us fans so proud. Thanks to her team, Bryan and all her beloved ones who really want to see her succeed and happy. I wish the MCA family a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2020. I enjoy ya.
