She's sounded really good in the clips I've seen. It always makes me happy when the vocals are up to par. Idk know what she's doing or not doing, but I'd like her to continue.

Lol it says Amfar on the stage in the video, plus the stories on that event match the dress.

We are agreeing on a lot, B-Rand. They never proved it when MJ was alive and there's no hope now he is not. Money-hungry, morally reprehensible fools, say I. I say, also, to everyone who gives credence to the vile documentary: imagine if Stella&Co made a documentary after Mariah had passed with such allegations. Imagine your response. Imagine your outrage. To me, an age-old adage is more applicable in the modern era than ever: it doesn't matter what you "know", it matters what you can prove. Can't prove it? Stop talking. And go live your best life.

The phone call would go something a little bit like this: "Hi, is that Mariah?" "Dahling, you sound so English." "Dahling, you don't. Anyway, I have ideas that would make..." "Wait, who are you?" "It's Andrew. From the MCA messageboard." *click*

I like your idea, hopefully Mariah and her team decides to do something special with this mini residency since she has only been to this special venue one time when she performed Endless Love with the late Luther Vandross.

Years of note: A vocal evolution (89,714)
by Matty from Vancouver Canada
| |
|
|
I've always loved every era of "thee voice" Mariah has ever had throughout her entire career. I love when it's powerful, I love with it cracks. I love that you can tell where she's at emotionally in her life just by listening to her voice in that era. There are bench marks where her voice has shifted into a new phase. (This is not good or bad, it's evolution. I don't want to debate what your personal opinion is on how her voice sounds at any given time.) What I'd like to hear is when do you think her voice fluttered into the next phases? These are the years that stand out to me: 1. 1997 2. 2003 3. 2011 4. 2018 What years do you think you heard an era shift?

Mariah and weed (89,713)
by Matty from Vancouver Canada
| |
|
|
We've all seen Mariah at the weed dispensaries over the years, and people attribute this to her "decline in voice" but I truly don't believe she smokes weed, she does edibles. She eats Gummies. She ingests weed, she doesn't inhale it. If she smoked proper and drank, her voice would be completely gone without a chance of vocal supremacy she has now. Look at Rihanna's vocal decline in 10 years and we know she smokes weed proper. 30 years, Mariah's voice is still astounding. Her voice has always been as delicate as a butterfly.
1:14 mark: "That's right Usher. Don't be blowin' smoke in my face."

It's not from her Dublin show? Where does it say it's a part of her Amfar/Cannes performance? I thought she performed in the black dress and tiara in Cannes. My apologizes.
I just read the comments on the Tweet. I guess I should do so before making assumptions. However, the videos I've seen of her Dublin concert were also amazing. Here's a video of highlights from her Dublin concerts.

Mariah's legacy looked like it might be tainted but she went into the studio determined and focused and delivered an amazing album. Caution is among her best work and proof that she is a musical genius. Caution is current yet classic Mariah. It is also her most critically acclaimed album, ever. Caution is proof that Mariah is still relevant and is more than just a legacy act. More importantly Roc Nation and Melissa Ruderman have managed to get Mariah the respect she deserves (has always deserved) and more importantly make her likeable again which seemed impossible just a year and a half ago.

The Royal Albert Hall (89,707)
by Andrew from London UK

I think Mariah should record the three nights at The Royal Albert Hall and release it as a special on Netflix (and on DVD?). Doing 3 nights of a show in one place allows her to choose the best takes and edit it together nicelý. It's also a very prestigious venue. It has a sense of importance and class that would make it not-just-another-concert. Included in the special between songs could be her accepting the Ivor Novello award for songwriting and clips of her in London. It would be a brilliant special with the touch of class she needs (as opposed to some gawkish affair in Las Vegas). I would have her bring on Westlife to do Against All Odds. O Mariah, if only I were your manager.

Lol do you guys remember when they said Mariah removed "I be there" (sic) from her setlist due to the fake allegations. Her DJ in Dublin rocked his music before her opening.
Our queen loves herself some MJ and so does most of the people around the world. Him being Daenerys Targaryen's dragon is something more believeble.
Here is an amazing documentary going through every lie told and so much more.

Mariah's voice (89,704)
by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
| |
|
|
Maybe I'm speculating too much now, but maybe Mariah hasn't got the chance to rehearse that much while her children were very young. It is after she became a mother that her voice has declined a lot.
Her children seem very close to her, there is no doubt she spends a lot of time with them. So now that they are a bit older, and they don't need that much supervision, maybe Mariah has gotten the chance to rehearse.
Just a thought.

Mariah in the new era (89,703)
by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
| |
|
|
I'm so exited to see Mariah get the recognition from the music industry these days. People I know who love Madonna, Celine, Cher, Prince, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, have always said Mariah would never get the recognition the other superstars have gotten, simply because Mariah is not as great as them.
Of course I have been there to challenge teir views, but they have all thought about Mariah as somewhat a joke. Nowadays, the music industry has started to treat Mariah as a great among greats, it's so nice for a lamb to get to see this, and I'm so glad they are showing Mariah respect before she's no longer with us.
Let's make this a lesson to all of us. If you have person in your life you haven't told that you love them in while, do that. I am for sure going to tell people I appreciate that I love them more often.
Mariah inspires me everyday, listening to Make it Happen while I'm writing this.

I was not expecting that at all. Is she going through some kind of vocal treatment? She is hitting high chest notes with far more ease and consistency than she has in a very long time. Her whistle tone had been growing thin in the last few years but that also seems to be on the mend. She's even bringing the vibrato back. I'm absolutely intoxicated by her confidence. Even when she misses a note, she recovers and goes for it again. Bravo M. I'm loving her performances lately. Almost worthy of the TEOM era.

Imma let you finish B, but that's not even from her Dublin show, it clearly says Amfar in Cannes. She does sound ok, and is displaying pep and attitude. I even like the faux, leg revealing gown. Clever.

Damn Mariah, she slayed so hard, personally this was her best concert in like forever. I'm so happy for Mariah, that icon moment really did do something to her inner light.
Hector, delete your comment and give me something new.
When are we really gonna talk the truth, her live singing moments are so much better than the ones who are lip synched. She even gave us impromptu whistles on Emotions, we really stan the greatest singer songwriter producer of all time. No one comes even close.

Yep. Much as you would say "Oscar winning actor" and "Grammy award winning singer", you would say "Ivor Novello songwriter". What a fantastic achievement and a great acceptance speech from MC, very humble and sincere. Congrats.
