Caution world tour set list (88,288)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
Now I can appreciate this set list she is basically covering all different songs that highlight her music and artistry along with fan favorites. I hope that this is the official set list for the entire duration of the tour.

Yeah I was bummed about it, but she did sing it on the CB tour so I'll just forever hold on to that memory. I can say I've seen and heard her sing it live at least once.

All she said was this was one of the first songs she wrote for the Caution album and that she thought the song was only a favorite to her, but she found that a lot of fans like it as well.

Welcome back, Andrew. I know some of your adversaries here will self-combust when they realize you're back, but oh well, we all know we need to have our ice-cubes ready before binging on the messageboard. Too bad your timeline has been obliterated.

I share your sentiment. I love "If We", actually when I think of Glitter, it's the first song that comes to mind. I wouldn't trade Glitter for any of her albums released after E=MC2. Those gems: "Never Too Far", "Lead The Way", "If We", "Want You", "Twister". Those vocals, the lyrics. I guess Glitter is the last album in which Mariah went all out vocally in the studio since "Music Box" without sounding or her voice being noticeable doctored. I'm happy she's just put Glitter of out of the Jinxed Box.

Well, Madonna did it with her Rebel Heart Tour, same as Barbra Streisand who released a whole live album apart from the Netflix special, and even Lady GaGa did release her tours on DVD for her fans. Bands like Pink Floyd, The Beatles, and legendary singers like David Bowie, Kate Bush, or Prince are re-releasing their whole catalogues in remastered vinyls, CD's with rarities and new booklets, and DVD's. When you're that iconic and have such a long career as Mariah, and most of your fan base is over 30-40 years old, she should care more about documenting her career.
We grew up in the era of CD's, VHS, DVD's, singles, maxi singles. And thank God there is a revival of vinyls. I wish someday they would release not only the Caution World Tour in DVD, but also these: - 1994 Saint John The Divine concert - live In Japan '96 - Butterfly tour in Tokyo '98 - Charmbracelet tour (in Manila, for instance) - The Beacon Center shows - Sweet Sweet Fantasy Tour - the Vegas residency But since her team doesn't care that much about this aspect, I would be content with bootleg versions.

I had two young chicks constantly in my way too. They annoyed me endlessly. She sounded great and I loved hearing You Don't Know What to Do live.

Glitter is a great album. Loverboy is the only song I skip. Never Too Far is one of my favourite Mariah songs. Great album.

I hope now it will find its way onto Spotify and other streaming sites. There are times in my life when I just need to hear If We, and if I'm mobile and without my iPod I can't hear it lol.

So the announcement was that Monday would be dedicated to Mariah by the radio station and that they’d play A No No every hour.

The setlist - my suggestions (88,270)
by MC1989 from Spain

|

Glad you're back Andrew. Till The End Of Time would be so incredible. But I think she could handle better "The Wind", which is one of my favourites in her entire catalogue, and we know Mariah's voice - or at least her current voice - sounds better and effortless when she sings slow jazz songs.
I'm loving the new setlist, I just wish she wear jeans or at least not gowns while singing the up tempo songs so that she could move a little bit more. Walk that stage with a little more energy. But in general I'm very happy with this refreshing show.
Since Mariah is bringing back songs we thought we will never hear again "live", these are the songs I would love her to incorporate in future concerts:
- If It's Over (Please, it's a fan favourite.) - Vanishing (She praised this song so many times but she never sings it.) - Someday (If she doesn't like the arrangements from the studio version she could try to do something similar to the Unplugged version, with that soulful intro.) - Alone In Love - The Wind - Lullaby Of Birdland - Dreamlover Def Club Mix (Probably her best remix.) - Open Arms - I'm Free - Melt Away - Honey Def Club Mix (I like it much more than the original song.) - Sweetheart (Solo version with no JD.) - If We / Want You / Twister - Unforgettable (The acoustic mix is so amazing and underrated.) - Giving Me Life

Hey - I had added the twitter link but that wasn't posted so my message seemed so bizzare. I'll add it again here. It was on V100.3 the hip hop radio station's twitter page saying: "Mariah Carey announcement coming this weekend that'll blow your minds. Hint: It's A No No."

As Mariah is so topical at the moment with her set list, and so loose with what is live and what is not, how about TTEOT with Martyn on the screen?

I have a small clip of her singing 8th Grade. I could be wrong but It sounded to me like it was all her. Either way I enjoyed it. The quality of the video is crap because I was so far away so forgive me. Lol.

I've always said Glitter the album is a masterpiece. She made the remakes her own without ruining or changing the original songs too much and the original music she wrote just fit so well with the 80s vibe. Don't even get me started on those vocals. Everything about the album is just perfect to me.
