Article: Mariah Carey all smiles as she steps out (81,802)
by MusicfanJ from Germany

Mariah looks phenomenal. Love her smile. The pic looks like it is 98 with the black dress and natural make-up. Just classy. All I want is a happy Mariah. I love her even more. The imperfect angel will come back stronger than ever.

No one is really shocked are they? Many of us have been talking about Mariah's well being for years and being shamed for even suggesting she was dealing with challenges. I do not agree with Morgan's approach I don't feel his motivations had purely loving intentions, but I do acknowledge that Marsh now can be more fully honest. She very clearly has had deep struggles. She deserves compassion just as all humans do. Wish her a smoother road ahead.

I actually agree with this. It’s a fact that what Mariah says and does are two different things and so I can’t blindly believe her or give her the benefit of the doubt. Her own actions brought that on. However, I want nothing more than for Mariah to turn over a new leaf, take control of her life, and become a better and more grounded person. It’s certainly an amazing space to be in. The question is will she follow through, will she walk the walk. I hope she does. Time will tell, though.

I'm pretty sure whatever Morgan "punk ass" Carey did for Mariah back in the day to help her career Mariah has paid him back 1,000 times over throughout the years. That fool can have several seats. You don't turn on your family like that. Whatever issues Mariah and Morgan were having was between them. What decent older brother puts his baby sister on blast like that? If I was Mariah, the next time I see Morgan I would kick the shit out of him. I wish he would come see me.

Hero / Mariah the shining star (81,796)
by MusicfanJ from Germany
| |
|

This is one of my favorite Hero performances. Mariah was shining from her heart, looked like a goddess and she sang beautifully. I really hope that if there's a new album, it will have one or two songs with a message like "Hero". The world needs songs like that.

Is it a new day? (81,795)
by Edward from USA

I'm very happy that Mariah has finally addressed what her brother had said, that she's bipolar. Since it's now out there in the open she doesn't have to be ashamed of being exposed or seeking treatment. Morgan hit her below the belt, but at the same time he might have saved her life. When he said it, I never doubted. It wasn't for him to expose her like that, but I guess he saw the train-wreck she was on with Crustella and he just put it out there. I also hope that this revelation comes with a new attitude. I want to believe her when she sings "Make It Happen" and "Hero" again. I have the feeling she's actually focusing on her music which makes me happy. With her talent only good things should come about. If she's serious about treatment, I think we're about to experience a Mariah like we haven't experienced in a long long time. I hope it's actually a New Day.

Right to dream / 2018 anniversary version (81,793)
by MusicfanJ from Germany
| |
|

Yesterday I discovered this version of "Right to dream". It's not official but I think the ones who did that version did a great job. That orchestra feeling is very nice. To listen to the lyrics without a tear is hard. I know she wrote it for the movie, which is also so emotional and intense. Great road movie. What do you think about this new version?

I'm well aware of everything you said, but I still stand by my post. His words weren't twisted, he was out to defame her possibly since she cut him off for whatever reason. Him going to the press and spilling on her mental issue was not his story to tell. Also him trying to take jabs at her didn't end there, he came for her later making it look like she's heartless and selfish for not helping Allison out financially. Just because he helped her years back does not mean Mariah has to continuously support them. I'm sure she paid her dues. He has just been using his sister's name to get paid.

Robert-Anthony, if you are spoiling for a hug, dude, we can hug it out. Straight-man-crotch-apart-chest-bump-back-slap or gay-gay-full-body-squeeze? In all the years I have posted here I don't think anyone has offered me a hug. "Dear Diary, after years and years of wishing..." You made me smile, anyhow. Enjoy your day.

Your piece is absolutely true and I couldn't agree more. Despite I do not always agree with Andrew I do respect and admire his poignant opinions. However, as you mentioned in your statement, trop c'est trop. On the upper side of life. I am so proud of Mariah as a human being and I am proud of the love we are sending her as the Lambily.

I see the lambs are bleating about my "negativity". But I could say anything here and the response would be the same. I did not say Mariah is really being dishonest, I simply question where this is supposed to lead. Evidently if you don't fall at Mariah's feet and cry about her bravery you are a "hater" which is the usual response to opinions that are contrary to positions of virtue-signalling, blind adherence. If Mariah needs to take mood stabilisers and that works for her then great. I am pleased for her. However, this will not turn everything around for her if she continues on the path she has been on. I spoke with someone yesterday from this board who suggested that this may be a counterpoint in her career, that it spells a complete change in her attitude, her music and so on, perhaps reviving her career and fortunes. Despite my post suggesting that there is a possibility that this probably will not happen, I do actually wish it would. I think it's possible, though, that someone at RocNation has levelled with her and told her that all the nonsense has to stop. If this revelation is part of that process then great. If it is a cynical PR move, I think she will regret it in the long run. Cheers for your post anyway.

You clearly have not been an MC fan through the entire course of her career or you would know better. He did speak out about her struggle with her disease and abuse of alcohol and meds but those were prescription meds of course the press twisted much of what he said. She had no greater support than her brother who had her back all the way up til a few short years ago in fact if you look at the timing, things started downhill after her second breakdown once she married Nickelodeon. I know they haven't spoken since he moved to Italy in 2012. Sad how her team sanitized eliminating all mention of his paying for her early demos, introducing her to Gavin, Ben Marguiles, Billy Idol, Nona Hendryx, Seymour Stein, and anyone else he thought could help her career. Don't hate, celebrate. Stella's strategy to foil MC has been turned on its ear by Mariah's announcement and everyone in and out of her camp is stoked. I bet her brother is very happy for her as well.

Andrew's negatvity everyday (81,782)
by Bobby A from United States

To Andrew: Why are you so negative about every aspect of Mariah's life and career and everybody else on MCA? Are you a real fan or a fake fan bringing us all down with your style of negativity? I am proud of Mariah for her honesty. It is not easy dealing with any type of illness and especially if you are a celebrity with a mental illness. Nobody is perfect. We are all human beings full of imperfections and shortcomings. Sometimes when we get older we learn to take care of ourselves and not worry about what everybody else thinks. I am at that point right now in my life. She has reached that point in her life. Mariah's music helped me get through some rough bumps in my life. Give her a break, dude. And cheer up for us all. Your negative comments are so nerve racking. Maybe you just need a hug and someone to tell you it is okay, Andrew and I got you. I hope you get that hug and come around soon.

A time for love (81,781)
by Brad from USA
| |
|

It's her story and none of us is to refute it. Remember the words of "Languishing". Let the best within each of us offer love and support to a woman who has given each of us so much in our own personal ways. No matter what tomorrow holds, the feats achieved are never erased. They occurred and were a benchmark of our time. Praise be to God that the day exists and that He will see fit to bring each of us our needs and some measure of the wants we hope for. May He shine for her as well in her needs and hopes of what the next day can bring. Be well.

Hello Andrew, hope you're doing well in life. I'd like to share my opinions about your post and the article about it. I see why you feel the way you do about MC coming out with her dealing with bi-polar disorder. Please don't get me wrong, I consider myself a big, almost obsessed fan of hers, but I'm very aware of details in personality. I'm no mental health expert, but I have noticed throughout her career, how she tends to make comments regarding something negative she's dealing with at that moment or in her past. I do also feel, that, with that being said, those personality traits don't invalidate what she's been through. Whether it was real or not, it's her reality. It's really up to us if and how we want to take from it, not her. I do think that as any type of public figure, they should attain the responsibility to promote good health and well-being, but none of us are perfect, we "ef-up", and hopefully learn from it. The fact that she came out with this, whether it's 100% true, a cry for attention, or just a tasteless PR move, these are my thoughts on that. First, I'd like to state that I'm also proud of her because I've gone through similar things in my life, that she's spoken about going through in hers, and somehow, her speaking about it and me being a fan, helped or saved my life at that moment. Before her, I never thought anyone could ever understand me for who I truly was, but her music and interviews spoke to me as if they were designed specifically for me lol. I believe she's being honest, because I believe that her team is helping her immensely with cleaning up her life and starting her new journey. In order to release ourselves from any or all toxicity, we must face them head on. If indeed, it's a cry for attention, which this time I don't believe it is, that sounds more like a PR move from her team, maybe with assurance that it's all for good. I personally don't agree with that type of mood, but I'm sure you've heard or read about how deceiving the music industry could get, especially to make bank. You know what they say, "All publicity is good publicity." I would hope that's not the case though. (My apologies for the lengthy opinion.) Just read the latest posts on this messageboard. Look how it's affected us. She reminded us that we don't have to bottle our feelings nor our pains inside. I personally can talk forever about my pains and struggles (as you can see lol), but just reading these posts about personal struggles/mental health let's me know that I'm not alone in this and gives me hope of overcoming them. One last thing, I do believe we are all different, from one extreme to another. There are people that easily fall apart, become weak, or just give up, and those that fight full force. Some of us bottle it up and some say it like it comes to mind. We all have to face struggles. It's how we deal with them, that shows its outcome. I do also believe that when someone attains the trait of speaking so freely, their way of dealing with issues may become easier for them than for others and probably would have a different outlook and misunderstand those that react in the opposite way, almost comes off negative or disheartening. I hope you understood what I'm trying to say with all this. Just know that it's in no way coming from a negative place.
