Oh I know, I should have clarified Parkwood adjacent with Roc Nation. Lol. I think it is tragic that Bey, Jay, Khaled and Future are gonna have a hit from their Parkwood, Roc nation collabo. Bey can put out hot trash and get a hit from her hive participation.

William. Your concerns have been addressed. How lucky you are to have such a patronising oracle at your disposal. Seriously, anonymous simple thought idiot, you probably don't want to mess with people of intellect on this board with your childish sentences. Truth always outs. Even if it hurts, it leads to a better understanding.

I can read and hear fine thanks. TGIFY was sung (for want of a better word) in the half octave she can sing in live. It's the one track of 18 she got through without playback or lip syncing during her residency, and it lasted a little over a minute. So sorry, you've not proven anything other than the point I was making.

Mariah has no affiliation with Parkwood Beyoncé's company, she has management services through RocNation which is the company founded by JayZ.

Somebody sure blocked that Busta collabo from last year. Might be for the best though. I really hope she cooks up some good stuff. Since she is with Parkwood, I really hope she works with Solange, who has expressed a desire to work with her. Nice to know that Solange's husband is a good creative as well. He directed Janelle Monae's Make Me Feel video which is excellent, along with Jidenna's Classic Man video. She can dig deeper within her well or that of other creatives. Same old and/or mediocre is not going to work.

If it's anywhere in the ballpark of being true then I doubt they're paying her not make music. However, it wouldn't be far fetched if they kept her on label but weren't worried about her putting out music. There are a few articles on the net talking about artists whose labels have blocked them from releasing an album for one reason or another.

Bill, I think you have problems with reading since I already answered your concern about the whole "controlled environment thing". "Thank God I found you" stripped version is a fact against you absurd claims along with Mariah's intro to "Emotions", "Joy to the world" etc, more than 95% was live in that video and if [you] somehow disagree just confirms how little you know about music. And in case you didn't know, Mary Ann is a background singer so she is only doing what she is payed to do. Mariah's notes will continue to shine regardless of the dirt that gets splattered around here.

A Wrinkle premier (81,232)

It would have been awesome to see Mimi and or Nick taking Roc and Roe to the Wrinkle in Time premier this week. Seems like an inspiring movie for kids. I would love to see Mimi in an Ava Duvernay project. I still hope either she or her music makes an appearance on an episode of Queen Sugar.

Lol. They are literally all from a controlled environment, with playback, lip syncing, dubbing, and Mary Ann picking up the slack.

I don't believe it, but if it were true that's embarrassing. I'd make sure that never got out. It would be super dumb on the label's part to waste money as well.

Rumor check (81,227)
by RibbonB from USA

Has anyone heard the rumor that Mariah's label pays her not to sing/record new music? I have read this in various comments sections for the psst two years. Obviously people often post rumors and state them as facts, but every time I see that one I wonder where that came from. Anyway her new McMansion rental looks interesting, if that is a tree. I am really hoping she moves back to NYC. That is weird IMO, that she seems to act like NYC is not her home base.

Totally Speacial K. Constant scrutiny is a pressure cooker for anyone to live under. There's a very fine line between being objective and cosnstructive and seeing the misery in any situation. It's a tough balance when people become passionate about something.

Again, slow news and it turns into this. Some of you all need to get a life. Seriously, some of the things that you all worry about are ridiculous and need not be mentioned all the freaking time. Lay off of Mariah. Get over it. No matter what this woman does it's never good enough. I wonder, when I'm on here, and I read this crap, if some of you all have friendships. If you talk about Mariah like trash then how do you treat people who are directly connected to you. A lot of you sound miserable and pathetic. Again, get over it. She ain't doing what you want her to do. Boo hoo, too bad for you. Carey on MC, my love.

On the one hand I agree that she shouldn't be expected to sing everytime or at every event. It was a party and she's allowed to have fun. On the other hand I agree that she could shut a lot of people up if she just sang. Her refusal to sing at times is a little baffling and concerning. I see both sides of the argument. Both sides have valid points.

Lara great quote, it's true. I also think if Mariah would explain the situation or why she doesn't want to sing some people would maybe understand. But like many on this board said, she can do what she wants to, that is something she has achieved most people can't. And it's also true that people expect a singer to sing (even her fans seems to expect it). Personally I think no one should be forced to sing at a birthday party, another vip event or a tv show if the singer doesn't want to. But I agree it would be nice to know some reasons or feelings from her. One thing is clear, to be 28 years in the music biz as a global superstar leaves traces. The advice with "press delete" is very good, I'll press repeat and enjoy Miss Mariah.

Quoting Bjork's song. No news so we start picking up at each other. Personally, I really wish Mariah gave one clear interview about the state of her voice. To let the world her voice isn't the same anymore would remove the huge expectations she has to face everytime, and for sure once that is relieved, her stage "stiffness" would be gone. For me, it's her tone that made her special, not the high belts she strains to reach.

No news at all so why not make some news here on this bitter messageboard by bashing Mariah for not singing at a birthday party. "you're a singer so you must sing." Some of you here please grow a pair and get a life. Especially that one from London.

When did she display her range? Please send me the video and if it's not a performance with lip syncing, playback, dubbing, and Mary Ann picking up the slack I'll stand corrected. It's time we all addressed the elephant in the room.

Yeah well at the same time Edward those who may feel a certain performance sounded good or wasn't that bad shouldn't be called delusional or crazy. Not to say that happened in the case but it happens. I just think we as fans sometimes way over scrutinize every damn thing Mariah does. I'm guilty of it too.
