I think it is long overdue. I have been asking for a collaboration since Mary J. Blige's Thick of It came out 2 years ago. I would be happy if DJ Camper handled the production too. I just tweeted MC, JD, and Jazmine Sullivan about doing a collaboration.

I'd actually kill for Mariah to work in some form with Jazmine Sullivan. Her vocals and writing skills are phenomenal.

I tweeted Dave Hall one time asking if he would ever work with Mariah again and he replied that he would love to. So I guess the ball is in MC's court.

Speaking of which, whatever happened to Dave Hall? He and Mariah made some major chart-topping jams together.

Never Forget You. "I should have said I loved you, why didn't I just tell you?" Words that have stuck with me since my dear sister-in-law passed away in 2001.

Walter will never be apart of MC's creative process again during the creation of Butterfly they had a fallen out and during the divorce from Tommy MC felt he sided with Tommy, because initially Tommy wanted a Daydream sequel for the Butterfly album and MC wanted to go in a more hip hop and R&B direction. I understand that Walter wanted to please his boss but as a collaborator he should have been neutral in my opinion.

Butterfly, for me. It was a theme song back then when I need to say bye bye to someone I loved. We separated because that the best for both of us. I got to let him go. I don't want to keep him under glass. Sad sad story. Now I need to listen to Through The Rain, another "that's about me" song.

On MIAM JD produced "Make it look good", "You don’t know what to do supernatural". "You’re mine (eternal)" was solely produced by DarkChild, also "Slipping away" was produced by Dave Jam Hall who also produced Dreamlover, and Fantasy respectively.

I can so clearly relate to Outside. I always felt like an outsider in my family. I just didn't know where I fitted in with family. Both of my parents rejected me because I wasn't planned. They gave all of their love to my younger sisters while subjecting me to negativity with harsh words and treatment. Music was my saving grace growing up. I guess that's why I connected to Mariah when she first came out. MC's music has always been my therapy.

At the end of the day I don't really care if she works with JD or Walter Alka Seltzer. I just want JD, Walter, Pooh Bear, Elmo, Big Bird or whomever else to help steer her in the direction of creating solid album.

Jermaine Dupri (82,788)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|

I was kind of hoping MC wouldn't work with Jermaine Dupri this time around. But right now when it is already June and no first single, I believe she needs him right now to balance the album out. She probably has over 30 tracks dating back to 2016 to 2018. Now she needs that We Belong Together magic to let Jay Z listen for the green light to finalize the new album's tracklisting. I hope she calls in Johnta Austin and Jazmine Sullivan for some Jermaine Dupri studio sessions.

I wouldn't mind one or two Jermaine song. As long as it fits with the whole sound of the album. If they choose the best out of the bunch then I'm sure it will be great. No more than two. While we are on it, can't she work with Walter A one more time to so that the album will sound classically Mariah?

Well said. Always be My Baby is my favorite song ever. And I mean all of their collaborations are great. Favorite JD tracks : - ABMB - Sweetheart - Slipping Away - Shake it off - You had your chance - My All/Stay Awhile - WBT - DFAU - The One - Love Story - Thanx for nothing Side note : On MIAMTEC, I know many songs were produced with JD but I kind of missed the "JD sound". I get it he wants to show his versatility and is probably encouraged by Mariah. But the most JD sound-like song on the album to me is "You're Mine (Eternal)" and yet it was produced with Rodney Jerkins. For MC's new album I would like her and JD to work together on a few track and go back to the whole "if Jermaine like it, then I like it" vibe, if you know what I mean.

My Saving Grace is that song for me. I wouldn't say it's about me. I'd say it was made for me and it came out during a time when I really needed to hear it. I was in tears the first time hearing this song.

"That's about me" song (82,779)

Which one particular song from Mariah's catalogue made you feel that it could have been written about you? That one song that touched your heart instantly and still resonates with you after all these years? Mine will always be "Close My Eyes" with "Petals" in second place. Anyone familiar with these songs will not need further explanation. Not that my life is bleak but we all go through the bad and the ugly once and again.

JD hate (82,778)
by Sarah from Netherlands

Everybody needs to stop hating on JD. You keep saying how you want her to work with new producers, then the album comes around and all the JD-produced tracks become fan favorites. Every time. Plus he's probably one of the few who can catch Mariah's authentic sound. It might not be what the radio wants, but that is what I want as a fan.
