Re: This is such a hit (82,022) (82,037) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Wow, thanks for sharing. I love the original remix as well (since it came out). It has such a special, powerful vibe and energy. The 80ies style remix is so enjoyable. I'm a little bit obsessed with the 80ies in general so this will be the song for the next weeks.

Re: MIAM (82,024) (82,036) by B from USA
Phoenix is an excellent title for Mariah's next album. Mariah's risen from the ashes like a Phoenix before. On an unrelated note I'm a huge X-Men fan and my favorite character Jean Grey was/is the Phoenix. She died saving her teammates only to rise from the ashes reborn (technically she rose from Jamaica Bay). My votes are for Mariah., The Redemption of Mariah/Mimi, or Phoenix. I really hope Mariah releases an album sometime this year. It's been four years since she released MIAM.

Re: New album title (82,029) (82,035) by B from USA
Agreed. janet. doesn't sound dated. Only Mariah's debut (with the exception of Vanishing) and Memoirs sound dated. Both are dated by the production. They both create timeless music and I wish they'd work together. I read an interview in which Toni Braxton talked about collaborating with both Janet and Mariah and how it never happened because of scheduling issues. She ended the interview by saying she still hopes to work with both of them one day.

I've been waiting years for an album titled My Pretty Pink Princess Unicorn (MPPPU). I'm due for this. Mariah make it happen. Seriously though I don't care what she names it as long as the music is good. I'd rather have an album with a stupid or sucky title with great songs than I would an album with sh*t songs and an awesome title.

I totally agree Eduoard. When this maxi single was released, "If you should ever be lonely" was all I listened to out of all the remixes. It was so hot and still is.

I do agree Janet is the best thing Janet ever did. Always pull out that disc from time to time, never gets old.

You're more than welcome. I absolutely don't sound dated. I don't know who made this but this is so "Eye of the Tiger" to me, Mariah is a genius.

Haha. You clearly are a pro on Excel, I can't do anything fancy on it but record the title, year of release, and catalogue number. Do you ever go as far as whipping out the collection now and again to polish the cases or just admire them, because I do. I can talk about collecting cd's all day too. I'm still quite the amateur though. I haven't even started collecting records or tapes yet. Feel free to message back about this topic on here or email cvjade07@.com

On my gosh. I've just downloaded it. Love an old skool Mariah mix. 80's is my faveorite decade for music. Thanks for sharing.

Re: MIAM (82,020) (82,024) by MusicfanJ from Germany
B, that would be awesome. I love Side Effects, Breakdown, The Roof, and Long Ago. The other genius side of the "ballad Mariah". I never get tired of listening to them. Musically and lyrically Mariah at her best. Although she has so many great up-tempos. With the new album name I would prefer a simple one-word title, like in the "golden past". "Limelight" sounds pretty good. Someone mentioned "Phoenix" which is also cool. Simply "Mariah" is nice too but not so creative. Well, of course the music matters, but a good album title is never wrong.

Stella Bitchvodkanog (82,023) by JD from United States
Almost everything stella has claimed is laughable. How can you file a lawsuit based on sexual harassment/breech of contract but then start talking about her not taking her bipolar meds? No wonder no lawyer would take her case. Everything about it screams Yolanda Saldivar style revenge. The only thing good about this situation is it seems that it's bringing a lot of people to Mariah's defense, and I hate to say it, but Mariah needs the sympathy. If you read the comments of theshaderoom's post about Stella's "lawsuit" I can't find one comment that isn't defending Mariah. Ha. I bet stella expected this to hurt Mariah's career, since almost everything else she's done has. Yet this in some [censored] up way may be the most helpful thing she's done for Mariah? Hell. She's even got Wendy defending Mariah several times throughout the past couple months. If you look at Mariah's public image this time last year vs now- it's a full 180. Call me crazy, but I think there is a chance for another successful era for Mariah.

Listen to this. I knew the mashup for the Junior Vasquez remix of Heartrbreaker, but this is so good, an ode to the mid 80's. I love it.

Wendy Williams (82,021) by B from USA
Wendy jumped to Mariah's defense regarding Stella's allegations and lawsuit. She even proclaimed she's Team Mariah.

Re: MIAM (81,967) (82,020) by B from USA
I always skipped Faded. However, I love Money ($*/...). It's silly fun and the hook is as catchy as the flu. Cry. is another favorite of mine. It's a bold way to open an album and Dedicated featuring Nas is Mariah's best Hip-hop collab since Side Effects with Young Jezzy. I hope Mariah writes more songs like Side Effects, Breakdown, The Roof, and Long Ago.

Re: New album title (81,873) (82,019) by B from USA
Redemption or The Redemption of Mimi or The Redemption of Mariah Carey. Or Mariah. Like Janet's Janet. (Janet's best album in my opinion.) I'm just glad that Jay-Z, Roc Nation, and Mariah's team (and Mariah) have her writing with new collaborators. MIAMTEC is a solid body of work, Mariah's best album since The Emancipation of Mimi or E=MC2. Memoirs is/was the nadir of her career. I think Tricky, The Dream, and Mariah knew Obsessed was a hit and hurriedly put together an album so they could release it as soon as possible however the album was delayed which prevented the single from getting a boost on the charts from first week sales of the album. If both Memoirs and MIAM had been released when their respective lead singles were peaking both albums would have performed better and Mariah would have two more #1's.

"Somehow the ones that I needed, would find me eventually" (82,018) by Dove from United States
I was watching old videos of Mariah and this one has some pretty magical moments in it. She's giving it her all and I love it.
There is an artist I really like, his name is Steven Wilson. Most of his stuff is Progressive Rock but recently he's ventured into pop. He's someone I dream about Mariah collaborating with. I consider him a musical genius. I believe he could be her next Walter Afanasieff. They would write beautiful songs together. I would really love to see Mariah work with Steven Wilson and also with Kendrick Lamar. Preferably all three of them together. On a whole album, not just a song.
This whole thing with Stella will blow over. The whole world has witnessed Mariah's eccentricities and we still love her. Despite tabloids trying to convince us otherwise. Mariah's fanbase is loyal and solid. It's obvious Stella is trying to blackmail Mariah but there is no need to be afraid because most of the things we're afraid of, they're just shadows. They're not real. Mariah, just keep shining your light. We live in a broken world and nobody expects you to be perfect. Nobody is, except Jesus.
The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand. Psalms 37:23‭-‬24

Jade we are the same. I also have an excel with my collection because I am a geek. I live in excel every day for my job and live in excel at home haha. I could talk all day about collecting. I never bothered with CDr versions, and was always weary of anything from South America, but I did collect the silver disc bootleg CDs that came out during the 90s. They to me were "official" bootlegs lol. It was great to have the Music Box concerts on CD, even though they were recorded on a potato.
