Re: For the nostalgia (81,641) (81,646) by Andrew from UK
Ha technically in the United States it was still April 1 when you posted that. So it makes sense. What is she slaying? A cat?

Everything Fades Away is underrated (81,645) by Sheila from United States
The beauty of the vocal delivery, the quiet-storm magic, the hopeless lyrics, it's a masterpiece.

Collaboration talk: Sia (81,644) by Bobby A from United States
What if Mariah and Sia spent one week in the studio. What type of songs would those two make in the studio? Whatever they come up with, would be a number one smash.

Re: I love JD's music, but (81,638) (81,643) by B from USA
Agreed. Her name alone gets her onto the Hot 100 (Infinity and I Don't both charted on the Hot 100) but if she wants to score another hit she needs new cowriters and producers. Her work with JD has become repetitive and redundant. Sadly, I believe his best days as a producer are behind him because he's stuck in 2004-2007. All Mariah needs to do is stay true to who she is as an artist while working with collaborators who can update her signature sound by bringing something innovative and new to the table. I know Mariah is still capable of excellence she delivered with MIAM but chose the wrong follow up single. You're Mine (Eternal) is an amazing song but it's production sounds like a JD and Mariah production despite being produced by Darkchild. It's worked before. #Beautiful seamlessly updated Mariah's signature sound without sounding desperate. She doesn't need to follow trends she needs to set them. I just hope she doesn't release an album inspired by Lemonade.

Re: The greatest album closing track (81,627) (81,642) by B from USA
I'm torn between Lookig In or Outside or The Wind. Or TGIFY. She knows how to sequence an album. I can't wait to hear her next album. It's been four years and although I enjoyed Infinity, I Don't, and the Unforgettable remix I want a proper Mariah Carey album. I want an album filled with hits surrounded by classy filler, lol. I want another Daydream or Butterfly. I think she's going to deliver this time since her new team has her writing with new collaborators which she's needed to do since 2009.

Mariah slaying TGIFY.

Mariah on Jimmy Fallon 2013 (81,640) by Billy from Greece
This has not been available online for a while, so in case anyone wants to see it, here it is. Though I was generally positive towards Jimmy Fallon, I certainly didn't appreciate the comment he made about Mariah last year at the Golden Globes. Final comment: Mariah looks totally gorgeous here. This is before #Beautiful, before the shoulder dislocation, before the divorce, before the nightmare era. I can't believe it's been five full years ago.

I have to agree with you. Infinity is the perfect song to end a successful career, in a low note, of course.

I love JD's music, but (81,638) by Bobby A from United States
I love JD's and BMC's music but enough is enough. Mariah needs to work [with] other producers and songwriters who can give her a hit. I think she realizes that now after I Don't failed to give her a hit. I would even be hopeful if she worked with Chris Brown's long list of producers and songwriters instead of JD and BMC.

I also choose EFA. Never heard anything like it. I love it so much. This song plays in another league. MC herself never "created" something like it again. It's a timeless track for music lovers. My second favorite is "Looking in" followed by "Love takes time". "Outside" and "TGIFY" are great too but it depends on my mood.

Hush yourself, Neighbours. Don't you have a cricket ball that needs a good sanding?

What you're left with when it's all over (81,634) by Andrew from UK
Everything Fades Away has an reassuring acceptance of an ending of something about it (of a relationship, an album) - an ending tinged with sadness, as most endings often are, but, here, peaceful with and of the outcome. Without any abruptness, the last few bars drift off into the ether leaving the listener feeling quite calm and lazily contemplative. It is a masterstroke of a denouement. Looking In has a haunting air of lonely trespass about it. It feels somewhat like a secret note left by Mariah in a cold uncomforting house in the middle of the night (whilst someone sleeps unawares) for someone to discover and send her rescue. It is both beautiful and heartbreaking together at once. But I always felt it a puzzling way to tie up the infectious mood of the Daydream album. And whilst Outside is of course a fan favourite I cant help but wonder why? I even question myself on my reasons for having loved it as I did, and perhaps still do. Now, I may be going against the sacred texts as found in the Lamb Bible here hah but it doesn't tell you to "Keep Calm and Carry On", it certainly does not tell you "It Gets Better" and it definitely does not tell you you're some kinda Hero. In fact, it does the bloody opposite. It simply tells you like it is: that you would probably be liked more if you did not sit at home crying about how sad your life is to sad Mariah Carey songs all day. As the years pass by, I would rather endings filled with the collective positivity with friends and the happy abandonment of troubles as in the Through The Rain Remix than the terminal loneliness and hopelessness of Outside. Funny how one can learn, eh.

Re: The greatest album closing track (81,614) (81,633) by Bill from the UK
Andrew this is so weird. I was thinking earlier today about posting this very same topic. I agree, Everything Fades Away is of course the best ending she's ever done. Really the US version was the only one to not have it feature, as all International versions of the album included it, and it seems so incomplete ending Music Box with All I Ever Wanted. I remember when Rainbow was out she said it was her first "happy ending" to an album, so perhaps she viewed EFA as the final track as well. She's never bettered that. So atmospheric and moving and sung with such conviction.

The greatest album closing track (81,632) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
I would have to say "Fly like a bird" followed by "Love takes time" are the greatest closing album tracks.

Hi there. It was not the Arsenio Hall show that you're referring to. Whitney was on the Byron Allen show when she made that comment. You can find it after the ninth minute. Hope this helps.

I agree about FLAB. I don't think she could have closed TEOM any better than that. It's just perfect.

I agree with EastEnders. EFA is one of her best tracks. Personally my #2 would be "I Wish You Well". Special mention to "Infinity" and "Loverboy Remix".

Re: The greatest album closing track (81,620) (81,627) by Tevin from USA
I agree that LTT and Outside are the greatest closing songs, but technically should LET count? It was a last minute addition that isn't even on all the CD's.

Re: The greatest album closing track (81,625) (81,626) by Edward from USA
Oh no, you did not. I had forgotten about "Fly Like A Bird", see, that would be the second best closing track.

Dear Andrew, good to know you didn't combust to a simple joke. Some men have catfights too, I've seen it. I'm glad you're not that touchy. Regardless of your sexual orientation to me you're still a man and as far as I know your gender is male, and your name is Andrew or Drew. I wouldn't call you anything other than that unless you prefer otherwise. Now don't start a catfight with me, I don't want to scratch your flawless face. Lighten up.

Whitney talks Mariah comparison on Arsenio (81,623) by Chicago Lamb from USA
Hey does anyone have the clip where Arsenio interviews Whitney asking what she thinks about the Mariah comparison? Whitney responds with "Mariah is a good singer. Mariah should be known for what Mariah does, not what I do. I don't hear it. Mariah has some of the same tones and inflections, runs." This clip used to be on YouTube, but I can no longer find it. Please send to miakitten@msn.com.

Re: The greatest album closing track (81,618) (81,622) by Edward from USA
I agree. "Outside" is definitely the best closing track on any of her albums. Second would be "Looking In" and in third place would be "Love Takes Time"
