Re: Django Jane (81,153) (81,155) by RibbonB from USA
Preach, it has been atrocious. it is way past time for quality and creativity to circle back into vogue. Her videos are in YouTube, please check them out.

Re: Butterfly vs. Ray of Light (81,145) (81,154) by Licia from USA
The Ray of Light album is when I took a step back from Madonna. ROL took Madonna in a direction musically that I didn't like. Bedtime Stories is a phenomenal album. Take A Bow was an unexpected and awesome surprise.

Re: Django Jane (81,152) (81,153) by Licia from USA
I've never been into Janelle's music, but from the few songs I have heard in the past I've always thought she was talented and absolutely gorgeous. I might need to check out these new songs. Great music is damn near extinct right now and I'm definitely itching for something new and great from Mariah and other artists. The acceptance of mediocrity in the music buisneds now and days is sickening.

Re: Django Jane (81,146) (81,152) by RibbonB from USA
Yes to good new music from anybody. Yes Janelle has done her thing. Word is Prince was working with her on this project before he passed, so his imprint may be on more than just Make Me Feel. Django Jane is an instant classic IMO.

The A, B, 90s albums and The Disappearance of Mimi (81,151) by Randy from USA
Great minds think alike B. I don't know where to place the three Toni Braxton albums or the three TLC albums or the three Mary J Blige albums or several Madonna sets I left off. I own them all and love them all but these albums to me are the best. And the fact that we are talking other artists' albums 20 years ago shows MC has been absent. I definitely don't want a rushed album so I'm being patient but didn't she write and record Rainbow in 3 months and write and record ILT, WBT and SIO in two weeks with JD? Shout outs to Edward, Special K, B and Andrew. I really want one of you to come to the A so I can meet someone from this board.

Tamar singing Honey (81,150) by 123 from USA
Does she do Mariah covers in concerts? I'd love to hear her sing a full song. She's always singing snippets of other MC songs. She was blasting through those high belts in Honey while roaming around her kitchen. Perfect transition from the highest belt on the song to the soft airy rift. She's def a student of Mariah. I would love if she covered a hidden gen for an album. Can't Let Go perhaps?

She looks great. Just enough cleavage and leg while still leaving something to the imagination. Whoever has been styling her has got it perfect. Keep this stylist or should I say keep listening to them and letting them take you in a different direction.

Re: Our minds work differently (81,114) (81,147) by 123 from USA
Hello Ed. Yeah I would never dedicate that much time to anyone online, hell I hardly post most of the time. We do need some new Mariah music. It hasn't been this quiet in a long time, which I kind of like. Do you listen to any music in Spanish? If so, who are your current interests? I've always liked your posts, you're one of the few originals left, glad you stuck around.

Re: Django Jane (81,103) (81,146) by 123 from USA
I love both tracks. The Prince sample on the first track makes the song addicting. The video is awesome. She finally plays around with her fashion, sexy, covered up. Something I want Mariah to do in her videos. Django Jane is another brilliant song and video. In red instead of that black and white suit and her flow had gotten so much better. Two completely different songs. I need the album now. Glad other great artists are dropping music while Mariah is taking a break from the limelight and recording new music.

Re: Butterfly vs. Ray of Light (81,136) (81,145) by 123 from USA
I prefer Bedtime Stories over Ray of Light. It's just miles ahead. People don't appreciate it because other bad rep at the time but there isn't a song on Ray of Light that can beat Take A Bow. The whole album is sooo good. My fav from Madonna.

Re: Mariah Carey at Floyd Mayweather's birthday bash (81,137) (81,144) by RibbonB from USA
She went to Floyd's party last year too along with her staffers including Stella. This year she just has the "lady with no name" manager there. Last year Vin Diesel was there at the party acting weird. Floyd is rather icky as celebs go, but it could be worse I suppose. Her dress is very cute though. It is odd that Mimi is the only female star we see at Floyd's parties. Maybe the others don't get showcased in the Daily Mail. Just going by last years party and this year.

We have quite similar tastes. Take A Bow is my favorite Madonna song, and one of my favorite songs of all time. It remains Babyface's best display of his producing talent in my opinion. And yes, I love The Heat as well. I really enjoy the songs you mentioned, the title track, Gimme Some, Fairy Tale, I'm Still Breathing, Speaking in Tongues and of course Just Be A Man About It (just realized I've named half of the album). Haha.

Re: Madge's Ray Of Light is 20 years old (81,124) (81,141) by B from USA
I hurriedly read his post on my way to a birthday party, I assumed he was simply comparing the two. After reading his post I get it. I fell similar towards Daydream and Butterfly.

Re: Butterfly vs. Ray of Light (81,125) (81,140) by B from USA
I own every album on your list. However, I'd place One in a Million higher on the list because it was released in the 90's and is still inspiring R&B artists to this day especially Rhianna and Bey.

Re: Butterfly vs. Ray of Light (81,136) (81,139) by B from USA
I loved the R&B influences on Bedtime Stories. Take a Bow is Madonna's best song and video in my opinion. Toni's third album is underrated. The Heat was an amazing album. I still love He Wasn't Man Enough For Me and Spanish Guitar.

I've never really been a fan of Madonna or Celine, but I did really rate "Secret" by Madonna and "Falling Into You" by Celine. There was just something about those songs that worked.

Mariah Carey at Floyd Mayweather's birthday bash (81,137) by B from USA
Mariah looks amazing. Glad to see her attending another celebs birthday. I forgot she used to do things like this B.S. (before Stella).

Re: Butterfly vs. Ray of Light (81,133) (81,136) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
I agree. Toni's first two albums are just golden. And I'd swap out the Waiting to Exhale Soundtrack for Madonna's most underrated album, the hushed tones of Bedtime Stories. About Falling Into You - that album has many of Celine's classics, but there's a reason why it's always on the list of least deserving Grammy Album of the Year winners. I'd even much prefer Let's Talk About Love for its more diverse sound. Why Oh Why is something Mariah would have owned better. Its slinky vibe would have fit right into Butterfly.

Hmm, nice album list. I have all of them except Celine's however I'm kind of suprised that an album by Toni Braxton isn't on your list. Secrets or Toni Braxton would qualify in my opinion.
