it's my favorite ballad of hers. I remember it pouring out of the radio back in the day. It's the song that really made me fall in love with her music. Such a beautiful song. From the nice angelic sounding opening of the song, to the desperateness of the lyric and vocal and addicting melody. I found this stripped version that I love. She has vocals I had never noticed before, that must have been hidden behind the music.

Come on guys and girls, Jade is offering a night of immense fun which she will organise. Come have fun. The videos can be sent to Mariah. This will test your love. And I formally invite Eric. And Edward and Randy. And Mimi L.

There are people who post here that I argue and disagree with. I respect their consistency and dedication. I, even, like the sport of it all. You have no history and your mission statement reads about 5 years outdated. I gave you a thumbs up myself, such is your need for them. Andrewjamesgold@gmail.com for my whatsapp. Go for it.

I have said million times that this song should've been a number one instead of I'll Be There. It was a crime Sony pulled this single off the store.

Deedre, it's funny you should mention Love Takes Time. There is something similar in her deliverance in each of these bridges and listening to CLG last night and it put me in mind of LTT. I think I would be in heaven if I ever made it to the Vegas shows and heard her actually sing I Don't Wanna Cry, Someday and Love Takes Time. They certainly come across well live and you are right that there are many places she can take the song.

It's one of my favorites too. Such a unique and beautiful song. And yes the classy video is still wonderful to watch. I wish Mariah wouldn't underrate her own songs. This song has so much emotion, love every second of it. Great post by Mara as always.

I do agree with you. I feel "Can't let go" and "Til the end of time" are gorgeous tracks on Emotions. I remember during the Vegas shows, something so beautiful would happen for me when she did Love Takes Time. It's a feeling I can't put into words, but it takes me right back to that first moment I heard Mariah, even more than VOL. The structure of the song, the heartache in the lyrics and the power of the delivery. You appreciate the rarely played songs. "Can't let go" has a lot of places to go live as well.

I know the hip sway haha. Mariahxlambily on YouTube did a compilation of the live high note when she was promoting the song and I noticed it then. It is a beautiful song. I couldn't believe when "The Ballads" was released that this didn't feature as I agree, it often goes overlooked. I think a lot of fans love this song. The video is one of my favourites, simply beautiful. The whole "Emotions" era for me is when Mariah really came into her own. She was confident, had more control, wasn't married at that point, and was there just making great music and giving amazing performances.

CLG has those unique melodies, notes/phrases of music you don't hear anywhere else. The song is such a different sound to it then what was typically heard at the time. Truly an underated gem.

I know that's right Deedre. It's really hard to compare anyone to Mariah because of her musicality that she possesses. She's unique and her type of talent is a once in a lifetime kind of thing, dare I say. But I agree. I'm a fan of many but my top notch is and will always be MC.

I just added that part because some fans believe that if you respect TM business wise then you accept what he did to Mariah. You know how us lambs can be. We are a fickle bunch. Lol.

Hahaha yes Mara I can picture the hip sway you're talking about. And the hands swaying left right. With her up do hair style and usually a short little tiny dress yet somehow she only remembers the turtlenecks. That song is amazing isn't it. A little more intense and rhythmic than the debut ballads or like Hero. Sometimes I think the fact it didn't hit #1 has prevented it from getting overexposed and helped keep it a little more special. I love the video too. Very classy. Ok time to watch it, gotta love YouTube.

Can't Let Go (80,788)

Was in an "Emotions" mood today and was listening again to one of my favorite Mariah songs ever "Can't Let Go". That song is so melodically beautiful and moody with her whistle placements to the George Michael like organ introduction to the deliverance of the bridge and how you can really feel what she is saying. I really don't know why Mariah pays this song no attention. I would be totally happy if she replaced VOL or My All for her "vocal performance" song of the night on tour in the future, not permanently but for a few dates or whatever. I think she can handle this song with her current voice and really make it come across well. It would be standout because even if there are actual people that don't recognize the song, the song is so beautiful that it speaks for itself and would stand out. I remember watching Mariah perform this song on live TV and she used to do this little sway with her hips and her hands would go and she couldn't help herself. I miss that little thing she used to do when she sang live. It just came out. Anyone know what I am talking about? Every CLG performance she did this. Then the mighty end with the head thrown back after the last note ending with that smile. Pure class act. There is nobody like her.

Hey Hilton, I like JLo too. Do I think she has MC's voice? No. Have liked a few of her songs and love the Selena movie? Yes I do. Doesn't mean I love Mariah any less and I don't choose to waste my energy hating on anybody.

Andrew should go to a Rihanna fan site. Or Madonna or someone the complete opposite of Mariah. There are many other singers he can express his "love" and other feelings. Mariah loves her true fans and always will.

Exactly. I would never want Mariah or anyone to stay in an abusive, unhealthy situation, and I am glad she took herself out. I am just acknowledging that some solid choices did get made in terms of the business/voice end of things.

I agree Deedre. I would never want her to be put in another situation where she felt like a prisoner or was mentally abused, but when it came to the music get knew what was important. He was a horrible person and possibly a sucky husband, but I give him respect on the music front. I'm glad I got to experience the great moments like this of her career.

Wow and now he wants to question Mariah's love for us, Mariah doesn't need to tour at all but she does that for us. She has a real management team who will handle all the promotion. Mariah has since the Roc Nation deal had nothing but good press. She trends regularly on twitter. Andrew honestly your life must be so miserable, how can you claim to have love for somebody you bash all the time. Just press delete and move on. Mariah loves us (true lambily) and we love her. She is well aware of people like you. [censored]
