Mimi's response about Packer's whereabouts (76,725) by RibbonB from USA
"I don't know where the M Fer is." Now that was iconic, lmao. I'm sure she may get flack if anyone notices. Reporters ask such stupid questions. The irony is he got in trouble for giving out free tickets to her show. That seems like a bunch of crock, but the story is out there. If Mimi were really smart she would never have entangled herself with JP, Stella or the rest of the clowns over the past two years.

Re: Does anyone believe in Karma? (76,696) (76,724) by RibbonB from USA
Her NYE problems resulted from technical difficulties and her response to them, or rather her lack of an effective response. At least her "ears" worked at Essence. She likely prepared more with JD there and her credibility on the line with that audience in particular. Stella is a flop manager and I still believe she sabotaged her own client. I would not put it past her.

B she was making herself look bad long before the breakup. He would have looked so bad if he actually appeared on that debacle of a reality show. The whole thing was a confused mess, start to finish. Mimi shows more emotional attachment and commitment to that bauble ring than she ever did to the man who gave it to her.

Article: Mariah Carey's concert held in Baku (76,722) by Matthew from USA
I suppose one way to look at this is that she is displaying a lot of confidence. It's funny, because when she was slim and trim she would wear these skimpy outfits on shows and interviews and she never really seemed comfortable. She would show up to 106th and Park in booty shorts, and then use a pillow to cover herself during the interview and things like that. It was always awkward. Now that she is getting bigger, her confidence seems to be at an all time high. To the point where she will just let it all hang out with pride even though it's looking a mess. But I guess as long as she is confident, then that's what matters. Hopefully it is confidence and not delusion.

Re: Karma (76,721) by Nikki from usa
People believe whatever gets the most hype, but "Mariah" didn't cancel her South American tour. She couldn't do it period. The promoters failed on their end and wrote an apology on their website. Mariah filed a lawsuit against them last year for that breach in contract. Her NYE performance was a fluke from the get-go because she wasn't supposed to be there in the first place. Dick Clark Productions was in a bind when they couldn't get that year's biggest act as their headliner. Mariah agreed to cut her vacation short with her kids in Aspen to do them a favor. She wasn't about to do any vocal rest while on a family holiday. Not to mention major outdoor events like that are lipped 99% of the time anyway. Her performance was a product of sabotage. Which she actually could prove. Which is why her lawyer made a statement and DCP removed her performance from their website while she was able to keep her check in full. In return, she had to stay silent about it. Which is why she never went in on the details like she said she would after commenting about her inner ears not working. She took a break from social media and then chalked it up to "behind the scenes stuff that nobody would understand unless they were in the industry". Of course that makes her a patsy. Once people know you're willing to be a patsy they won't hesitate to use you as a scapegoat. I expect to see more complaints about Mariah this year if anything else she does goes wrong.

It's not to stay relevent (76,720) by Nikki from usa
Mariah's projects have to do with a creative outlet - I'm sure getting paid is a nice bonus, but I doubt it's the main priority. I think people, including her fans, sometimes get lost in her celebrity. Mariah likes intimate connections. I'm not referring to relationships. Given a choice would Mariah prefer to sing in an arena or a theatre? Would she like a global brand or several local ones? Mariah's been doing little behind the scenes projects for years now. She did commercials throughout the 90's for Japan. She was a model for the 2007 year in Italy for their Pinko brand. Mariah's creative and wants other ways of expressing it and simply to try new things. Small projects don't require as much commitment as large ones. This gives her more opportunity to branch out and delve into more things. It also provides her with more mommy time in between. Mariah is a driven personality. Those kinds of people don't retire and need constant stimulus.

Eduoard, your positive attitude and optimism makes me smile and kinda reminds me of Mariah. It's ones like you I believe are real people first of all, and true lambs. You stand out easily on here and are a breath of fresh air. Don't change. Lots of love.

I know right? She dodged a bullet with that breakup. I didn't even like that guy, he kinda bugged me. Take note even Brett cut ties with him. . Lol you gotta love Mariah. She's smart that cannot be denied.

The press conference (76,716) by Lila from United States
What I got out of it all is that Mariah needs to stop thinking that being ignorant is cute or absolving and pick up a book or hit up google more often. Educate herself. Maybe then she'd know better than to get involved with a man whose friends with the head of state of Israel, have dinner with the head of State of Israel and his wife, get involved with a shady Israeli company that scams people and upholds the theft of Palestinian lands and making life harder for Palestinians. Then again, she also said that she's not interested in what's said about politics that do not affect her life, so even if she knew I guess she wouldn't care.

Some of you on here really need to get a life. The back and forth bickering is ridiculous, dumb, and unnecessary. Anyone who participates in behavior like this on a messageboard should be ashamed of themselves. It's old and tired now. SMH.

Packer can't be faulted for getting more out of their deal than Mariah did. As the saying goes: don't hate the player, hate the game. Mariah should've stepped her skills up. She also didn't make both of them look worse on Mariah's World. She just made herself look worse, something she's an expert on these days.

Re: Can we all celebrate the fact (76,701) (76,713) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
It was a mutually beneficial relationship where Packer got the publicity and Mariah got the revenge on Cannon by upgrading to a billionaire (something she explicitly threatened to do) and also to let the world know that she isn't miserable after the divorce. You can celebrate all you want for Mariah not marrying an "international thief" but are you also celebrating Mariah sheltering a robber and family of leech under her own roof?

How they messed up choosing the right singles from an album that is full of potential top 10 singles is beyond me. Anyone who thought releasing "Bye Bye", a 2008 version of OSD over "Cruise Control", something new and fresh from Mariah was dense. Don't get me wrong, I love "Bye Bye", but it shouldn't have been released when it was, if anything they could have wrapped up that era with that song as the last single. "Side Effects" should definitely have had a release with a good video. There are just so many options from that album yet they failed to choose the right ones.

Re: Can we all celebrate the fact (76,707) (76,710) by B from USA
I never said it was one sided. I was summarizing what members of both of their teams said in the profile on Packer. They both agreed that Packer dragged Mariah to business meetings because of who she is. They both also claim it was a PR stunt on Packer's behalf and that she was a part of some five year plan of Packer's. Did she use him for something? Probably but he seems to have gotten more out of it than she did. He made her look like a fool so she made both of them look even worse by including the Tanaka storyline on Mariah's World.

Re: Thanks for Nothing in Baku (76,699) (76,709) by B from USA
I love Thanx 4 Nothin'. E=MC2 had so many songs that could have been hits like Side Effects, I'm That Chick, and Thanx 4 Nothin'. Releasing Bye, Bye as the second single from E=MC2 is one of the biggest mistakes ever made in Mariah's career. It killed the albums momentum and every album she's released since had suffered the same fate.

There's not really any other way to say this: you're mental. You must have something seriously emotionally wrong. Everything you post is a misrepresentation, a fabrication or a lie. You know it. We know it. You know we know it. We know you know we know it. Und so bloody weiter. Positivity is one thing. Appearing to be quite mentally and/or emotionally unstable is another. N'est-ce pas?

You are actually 100% delusional. Only one person was being used in that relationship and it sure as hell wasn't Mariah.

Re: Could we all be part of another metamorphosis? (76,657) (76,706) by Kay from Thailand
You could be right. Her preoccupation with non-music related "projects" surely can't be for the money, though it's totally understandable that when people don't come from money then come into a tonne of it, they strive for more and more wealth so that the rug never gets pulled from under them. Her metamorphosis must be to stay relevant, and if it was implemented by professionals with experience and a touch of class, she would have been able to swing it on home with projects that build on her brand as a super-talented record-breaking fabulous diva. Instead it's been a trail of bizzaro initiatives that aren't worthy of her name - a trashy reality show instead of something like a Netflix insightful documentary, the face of an Isreali beauty brand instead of a globally recognized reputable product, the Azerbaijan Grand Prix instead of Monacco and the list goes on. (No offence to those countries.) Of course the best of the best probably don't want to deal with her anymore because of her reputation. So she seems to have settled on evolving into a TMZ darling and to hell with anything of substance.

It seems like she always need to have a tour for her voice to warm up because if not, the case will always be like that Baku show.

I shared a link to Vanity Fair's profile on Packer in which both a member of his team and a member of her's said it became obvious Packer was using Mariah when he started dragging her to business settings in countries where she's well known like Japan. Funny how after the breakup Japan officals detained his employees. Correction it was China and Chinesse officials that detained Packer's employees after the breakup. Here's the link.

Why the disrespect? Because I come with receipts and proof. I don't just make blanketed statements? I've been a fan since the beginning and the only reason I criticize MC is because what's obvious to the rest of the world seems to be lost on her and her true fans. It's all love. I don't call people names or curse at people I don't know on a message board. I'm grown.

"It's important to have his and hers everything" (76,702) by Edouard from France
Remember that quote? It's interesting to me that Packer is currently under investigation because he is said to have paid luxurious vacations to the Netanious. Yet she insisted on having her own yacht. Smart woman.

Can we all celebrate the fact (76,701) by Edouard from France
That Mariah didn't marry an international thief? It is obvious that she realized that something was fishy about James Packer and she refused to close her eyes. She is upset when they mentioned him because he clearly tried to use her to expand his fortune and use her as a trophy wife so that people would succomb to her charm and fall into his trap. Mariah has already experienced this kind of man before. I'm sure it will inspire her new music.

JoJo - Wonder Woman (76,700) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
While the state of Mariah's career has been stuck in the same limbo for the past 3-4 years, I'd rather listen to fresh, new music. JoJo just dropped a great song possibly meant to capitalize on the success of the blockbuster movie of the same name in theaters right now. This is slinky, minimalist R&B at its best because it highlights her amazing vocals. Now if only Mariah had the guts to make songs without having to force herself to come up with easily digestible hooks. But then again she is an R&B singer with a pop heart, so I guess this would be too much to ask of her because it would be going against her instinct. I hope this is a taste of another album from JoJo. She truly is one of our most underrated artists.
