Yes, New Edition and Common both sounded and looked great. Diddy looked a chubby dad body mess, lol.

Daydream was a huge seller globally and spawned three massively successful singles in the US. Fantasy ushered in a new era of music completely, the One Sweet Day 16 week run at #1 is still unbeaten some 20 odd years later, and ABMB is still on regular airplay rotation in the US. So, an tremendous commercial success, but you're completely right, Butterfly was Mariah Carey the artist shining through. Never before or after did Mariah ever make a record with such sincerity, honesty, and elegance.

Yeah, I was a bit surprised they included Daydream. Butterfly was and still is her crowning moment.

The Star (77,498)

I'm happy that finally Mariah is associating herself and her brand with something that is of her level and worth her time. I hope this song gets proper promotion and is received well, and lastly for the video I hope we get less (read: not at all) of this and more of this. She looked stunning in the "Merriest Christmas special".

I agree, and the title suggests a more traditional Christmas song which would be great. Jesus Born On This Day and One Child are both incredibly beautiful songs, I hope this is in a similar vein.

Mariah Carey announces new Christmas single (77,494)

The Star sounds promising. However, is anyone else confused by this announcement? Why make the announcement in July? Also why is Mariah releasing a single for an animated Christmas movie that isn't hers?

1. Alicia Keys 2. Beyonce 3. Tori Kelly 4. Taylor Swift 5. Adele Disclaimer: I chose Taylor because she's a talented songwriter and I believe together they could write an amazing pop song.

1. Alicia Keys (they could create beautiful soul or retro-soul) 2. Lady Gaga (a dance track or even a ballad) 3. Sia (a modern rnb song) 4. Kelis (a "classic" rnb uptempo) 5. Sade (would be a dream duet)

I don't know when this happened last but lets celebrate all the positivity coming from the lambs on the board about MC. Whether it's the Lionel tour, the Girls Trip cameo, old recordings surfacing or the new Christmas song Star - the message board hasn't had such positivity spilling over in a while - lets hope it lasts a bit.

The Emancipation of Mimi should have been top five. It brought the Mariah that I know and love from the ashes. Just when everyone was saying her career was over she made a epic comeback. I believe she can do the same thing if she focuses and get back to what made her famous in the first place which is her voice. Also I hope she gets a new manager, one who knows how to market and promote her. Because let's face it she is one of the best singers in our generation and writers. I am glad she is getting good reviews with this tour with Lionel Richie. I am one fan who is always wishing her the best.

Article: The 150 greatest albums made by women (77,482)
by this_is_qhm from the Philippines

While this does have a lot of essential recordings by the fairer sex, I still rebuke any list of such nature that includes just one Mariah, Janet, and Mary J album, only two Madonna albums, no sign of Lisa Stansfield's debut or self-titled album, Kylie Minogue's Fever or Body Language, Brandy's Never Say Never or Aphrodisiac, The Cardigans' First Band On The Moon, or even Lady GaGa's The Fame or The Fame Monster. Injustice.

It's sad. I wish those public embarrassing moments would stop. I'm so tired of it. It's enough. And it still feels so strange to me. Ribbon B, I had to laugh so laud because of Crusty. The clown is telling MC not to stop the restaurant moments, because it's "hot".

5 current female acts you'd like Mimi to work with (77,480)
by this_is_qhm from the Philippines

Now we all know that we'd sooner see Mariah dye her hair green than collaborate with another (singing) female artist, but it's just a shame that she won't collaborate with these younger ones from this generation (so far):
5. Adele - They could team up for an uptempo track from Adele's future dance album. 4. Lady GaGa - It's clear Mother Monster is a lamb and it seems Mariah respects her as an artist so what is taking them so long? 3. Beyonce - There have been a lot of rumors and speculations and it's time for this to finally materialize. 2. Ariana Grande - I know, I know Mariah doesn't know her and that at least 3/4 of the Lambily thinks she's a dumbed-down, derivative copycat, but remember what Me And The Music did for Britney and Madonna? Well actually nothing commercially speaking, but it actually bridged the generation gap between the fans of both artists and doing this would at least establish that Mariah is not threatened by some starlet. Plus, if you really dig a bit, a lot of Ari's non-teenage fans are actually lambs who are waiting for new Mariah music. 1. SZA - The least mainstream on the list, I probably only put her at #1 because her brilliant debut album Ctrl has been the best R&B opus I've heard since KING's We Are King last year. I'm obsessed with Love Galore and she is the artist that Rihanna wanted to be with ANTI but fell short of. If Mariah's resistance to working with female artists stems from fear of being overshadowed by the magnitude of her co-star, then she won't have much of an issue with SZA. She might finally influence Mariah to finally take the alternative/progressive R&B and neo-soul route she hinted on with #Beautiful and Make It Look Good on her last album.
Oh well, one can only wish.

Daydream should be in the top 5, if for only the Fantasy remix and how that song single handedly changed the face of music. You're right. At least she was mentioned.
