Lionel and Lioness Carey (77,407) by Edward from USA Looking at the clips from YouTube, I'm happy Mariah delivered with grace. It's definitely not only about expecting her to sound as if she were 20, of course some parts were lipped as expected, but in general she did give it her all. One thing that stood up to me was the fact that Mariah actually looked like she really wanted to be there, not just be done with the job, and that made a huge difference. She really enjoyed herself, and those tears were of joy for the support and the overwhelming love she was receiving. We seem to keep looking at her and all we can see is the girl who lives inside the golden world, but maybe, just maybe, that's not all there is to see. I, more than ever, believe in this verse: "She smiles through a thousand tears And harbors adolescent fears She dreams of all That she can never be She wades in insecurity And hides herself inside of me" (Sunday 23 July 2017; 14:48)

At the beginning of ABMB, she says to the band hey, don't start the guitar yet. It was a cute moment as she stated the song was from Daydream and she hoped the audience would sing along. I think when you get the fillers, the face stays a little puffed up and it takes a few days for it to set in. This has happened with Mariah before too. Just let the backing track play for a bit. At least that's a shot at getting away with it. Then come in with low notes and end the song. There may be a disgruntled partner or parent amongst the crowds but predominantly it's her fans. With this tour with Lionel, it could well be that a large percentage of the audience aren't interested in her music or at best casual fans. Of course it can also be the other way round for Lionel. Does anyone know if they sang Endless Love together? Surely they must, she hasn't sang that one live since promoting it with Luther back in 1994. (Saturday 22 July 2017; 21:19)

So I hope it was because she was feeling overwhelmed with the love and appreciation and not because she feels lonely and upset over something. What got me thinking was how this happened at 2 unexpected concerts and not her usual ones. The red dress was great. Flattering and red is always her color. She looked good and angelic (even in red haha). So the set list was something like: Heartbreaker / Love Hangover Shake It Off Touch My Body IKWYW feat.
