I think this was the first time Stella's name ever came up. Little did we know back then how we'd come to dislike that name.

Mr Showbiz 411 has egg on his face because he just said Mariah and Epic were going to part ways as she was being dropped. Well will you look at God not only did she not get dropped she entered into her very own joint venture. Sounds to me like Roger is bitter with Mariah for some reason I believe that this is because she no longer works with his dear friend Cindi Berger.

New album (74,355)
by Jono from USA
| |
|

If, and that's a big if, there is a new album coming out later this year, it will have to be well planned and executed. No more delays and pushbacks. Especially now in this social media generation, you have to build and capitalize on hype in a much shorter time period. Even delaying something by more than a couple of weeks will kill any momentum. So what I would much rather Mariah do is to make sure everything is set in place, and to not give an exact release date until she is absolutely sure she can deliver. I need a TEOM rollout style, but upgraded to match the current times. That era was absolutely fire because not only was the material hot, but the preparation and execution was on point. She needs to surround herself with people who understand the music marketing and how it functions in today's society. That being said, I am always looking forward to new Mariah music.

Article: Mariah Carey's "new deal" is her old deal, reiterated (74,354)
by Jono from USA
| |
|
|
"She has a great voice. She's never recorded an album that shows off that voice properly. She needs a real producer, real songs, real arrangements. She has to surprise the world by showing she's [a] vocalist, and not just a pin up who can hit a high note." I was on board with this article until here. It's clear that this supposed journalist didn't do their research. All of her albums have always showcased the many layers and timbres to her voice. She did not adopt a sexy image until 1997 Butterfly. The world knows that she has an incredible voice, because that's what made her famous. The issue has been her recent material, which is subpar by her astronomical standards, as well as her bad performances that have made headline news. It's clear this supposed journalist is angry about the way the manager treated them, but taking it out on Mariah with lies is not the way to retaliate.

Actually he's not eating crow if what he's saying is true. Anyway I don't care if it's a new deal or an old deal, I'm just glad she may be back to taking the music seriously and we'll get an album. The only thing I didn't like is him saying she's never recorded an album that has showcased her voice. Where the the hell was he at when the first 7 or 8 albums came out? She did nothing but showcase her voice. Come on Roger. I can understand him not liking her more hip hop songs, but to act as if she's never used her voice on earlier albums is ludicrous. Hell even though Glitter had some rap on it, she still gave us vocals for days. On a funnier note, I died when he said Stella Whatchamacallit. I think I'll refer to Stella as Stella Whoseitwhatsit from now on. Lol.

Lol Mimi, I don't think she meant that she was literally covered from head to toe at all times. She has a big personality we know she can exaggerate. I took it more like her image and what she was wearing was constantly and issue or a topic of much heated conversation/debate/scrutiny. Like knowing a certain type of outfit would be an issue. In order to avoid potential conflict, she wound up choosing to do things she really didn't want to, or wearing stuff that wouldn't have been her choice, to "keep the peace" and not "make waves". Inevitably, though when you stifle yourself in order to please people, there comes a breaking point where you can't do it anymore. Certainly not without building up some unresolved feelings around it. Notice I said choice. I don't think it's as simple as Tommy is a "bad guy" I think it's complicated with a lot of stuff going on. Mariah was very young at the time as well. People evolve.

Now Ribbon you're going too far. I still need my rap remixes. Lol I get what you're saying though. Having a regular, rap, and dance version of some of her songs worked really well back in the day. We all got something we wanted.

I don't know about the undergarments being red, but she did say in an interview or article that there was to be a scene in the VOL video of her in a bra, but Tommy made them take the scene out.

I've always said she should have given that ring back. There's really no point in her continuing to wear it. If JP is as crazy as they tried to make him out to be, there's no way I'd still have or be wearing that ring. I agree that no other man would be ok with her still wearing an engagement ring from someone else. Andrew you know she liked the attention that she got whether it was good or bad.

What's totally strange is that Mariah still wears the ring in the first place. I'm not sure people are looking at it in awe, they're looking at it wondering what kind of person wouldn't have given it back, considering the circumstances in which it was given. Or at least have taken the bloody thing off and put it in a safe. Again, really not sure Mariah is compos mentis when it comes to the chasm between the way she probably wants to be perceived and how she actually is.

New label (74,345)
by Will from England

I wonder if this could be tied to her plan to release stand alone singles, even well beyond the current album that has been announced. So instead of releasing singles through Epic, and catching them by surprise, she can do so through her own label. Could be a term that was part of the new contract negotiations that they won't release, so Epic is protecting themselves from any more single flops, and can focus funding her new album alone.

I don't think any real boyfriend would be down with their significant other wearing a ring with which their partner was engaged to another man. Had it been a random gift, like the necklace Mariah currently always wears (which is also a gift from James) then that's fine but I don't think the ring situation would be fine with anyone. Unless you are the boyfriend on her payroll.

True, if Stellar is involved, big red flag. Stella has already attached to All I Want For Christmas, now she is trying to attach to all M. music going forward. Sigh. I just hope if Stellar is involved that Mariah feels empowered to keep her at more of a distance and in a box, away from all of Mariah's private time and there to feed off of her vulnerabilities. Mariah needs to get in full survival mode and cut off the vampire Stella.

I hope her new contract specifies when exactly she has to release her albums and how many albums she has to release. I think the last contract was kept pretty loose and hence nothing substantial came out of it.

In the name of all that's holy, what happened to Busta Rhymes? As for Tanaka and Mariah, my friend T.J. sent me a text via WhatsApp this morning, and I was like: They could only pretend but so long. Those who saw Mariah's World know that they were desperately looking for some story lines to stick, but with James out of the picture, things didn't make much sense. Molly is an actress, Stella is still a witch, Mishka keeps messing up Mariah's social media, Tanaka was hired to play a part beside his duty as a dancer, and he complied, that's why I never took it personal with him, he was working for his coins just like Mariah was working for hers. During their fake relationship, Tanaka and Mariah made each other happy, they all got paid. Let's see if Mariah keeps wearing her engagement ring with her next real boyfriend, but I doubt it.

Though I'm happy that there is new music coming, this part of the announcement bugs me. Is this Butterfly MC Records a new one like that Magic Carpet Productions? If yes and if Stella is also involved with this, this is not good and Mariah should think twice about all if this decision, this is her hard earned wealth, you don't just share it with someone else just because they bows down to you.

New deal (74,335)
by Tameka walker from United states

I am so excited about this new deal. I have been a fan of Mariah's since I was a little girl and I have always wanted La Reid to come in and give Mariah another comeback like she is capable of. La Reid knows what he is doing just look at The Emancipation of Mimi that record that they worked on together was awesome. I strongly believe she can have another great era all she needs to do now is rid of Stella. Mariah Carey is a prolific songwriter who has written 17 of her 18 number one songs. Plus she has taught this generation how to sing. She is very influential when it comes to female artists. I am so rooting for her here comes more hits and classics made only by the one and only Mariah Carey. Good luck with your new deal.
