More Sony shakeups / Epic ending? (75,193) by RibbonB from USA Well what with the new Sony CEO there are rumors that he may even close Epic records. I doubt Mottola will be resurrected as a Sony executive, especially not as one involved in Mariah's career. Hopefully her little label creation has offered her some protection, or an out if things shake up so much at the label. (Friday 12 May 2017; 17:40)

Tommy heads Casablanca Records and despite his ability to create stars he was unable to turn Lindsay Lohan into a singing star despite the fact that at the time she was already a movie star and could actually sing (sort like J.Lo except she could sing). He also failed to help his wife Thalia cross over. He didn't turn Celine into a star, Rene did. He helped Mariah but she put in the work and despite his sabotaging of the Glitter era she was able to make one of biggest comebacks in history. LA just suggested Mariah work with JD again (which was a no-brainer after 2004 he was once again the hottest producer on the planet, thanks to Usher's Confessions). Mariah needs to work with fresh producers and writers that aren't stuck in the mid 2000's. (Friday 12 May 2017; 16:13)

I know she has insecurities but she is too vain to mess her face up like MJ. If she is considering surgery my money is on a breast lift or reduction and a tummy tuck. Her body isn't in bad shape but her breasts make her look top heavy. Something is really off about all of this. Tommy coming out of the woodwork to publicly comment on Mariah after NYE lets you know he is still into the music scene and how "he thinks he could make it better". After the commotion his public comments made along with Stella's response, I noticed on Twitter, accounts solely with pics of MC and TM and pushing for them to reunite. People were thinking how Tommy made people stars and how he is the mastermind behind MC. Then we hear the news months later about MC releasing an album after she stated she wouldn't and she as focusing on singles. Next comes the label launch and the party. Funny how this happens right after the label launch party that was all her signature (pink yet lavender butterfly theme) and of course the picture with LA and Mariah. LA looked tired in the pic but we haven't seen a pic of the two of them for a while. Then this. Could any of it all be connected? What control would T have if he did take over LA's spot, on M's new label? Could LA go with MC on her new label? Either way, I am concerned for what it means for M. (Friday 12 May 2017; 15:25)

And he's also experienced in the music industry too. The man (L.A Reid has multi platinum albums, singles and hits under his belt) was one of the most important factors in the creation of and execution of "The Emancipation of Mimi" album and era. And not having him in the Epic label picture is upsetting and kinda like when she was back at Def Jam. I'm not happy about this development at all. (Friday 12 May 2017; 14:34)

Crustella shouldn't be her role model. I wish Mariah would get some "help" mentally. Don't get me wrong, but I think she needs a healthy way of life without toxic people instead of paying for superficial "treatments". Women with class doesn't get old they mature. And Mariah Carey doesn't need to impress kids and the Hollywood circus. She needs inner peace again and like I said a thousand times before true friends. The showbiz was toxic for so many talented people but if you're in it for 27 years you should know who's a friend and who's a snake/witch. Anyway the problem isn't her weight. I've seen women bigger than Mariah that kill her in the fashion department. The problem is she wears too little sh*t that's all wrong for her body. Virgin records was going through some major management resructuring during that time period and Mariah didn't have any one real label head for guidence. This could end up being a big mess for MC. This cosmetic thing is not really healthy and it doesn't help that her weight goes up and down especially at her age. Very trackmasters to me although it was produced with Timbaland. Reminds me of Head over Heals (Allure and MC) and ISB/Pure imagination because of the whole etheral ambiance and the light vocals. LA Reid (75,176) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City) This is no surprise as his efforts have been marginal at best. I believe Sylvia Rhone will be his replacement who is another respected industry executive. Honestly speaking at this point Mariah needs someone who is going to make her put in that work and be hard on her so she can produce the best product possible. Mariah has become to comfortable with LA so as a result the output has been either poor quality or nothing at all. On another note Roger is pissed with Mariah over Stella and him being close to Cindi any chance gets nowadays he finds a way to kick Mariah's back in just an observation. (Friday 12 May 2017; 12:55)

In this article, she looks like a different person. She doesn't need another plastic surgeon, she needs a dietician and a trainer who won't take no for an answer. She definitely doesn't need an enabler manager and hangers-on telling her she looks great when she evidently does not. Unfortunately, the truth of the matter is, is that if she were thin and attractive again, she would be of a lot more interest to the younger generation. And, thus, to the label. They look upon someone who is hot as marketable. [censored] It is imperative she do something about it. Image, music and attitude. If she concentrates on those, the label will back her. I want so badly for this to work out for her, but if she doesn't mesh well with these new people and she lets her unqualified manager/team deal with this, it could turn into a disaster. The reason for even being back at Sony/Epic was solely because of Reid and now he's out it's like back to square one for Mariah. What's gonna happen to her new label? LA Reid out is bad news for MC (75,171) by T from USA Do we need to remember what happened when LA Reid left Island/Def Jam? Barry Weiss (head of JIVE) came in and replaced him. Well it was clear from the get go that Mariah had no interest in working with him and stalled and delayed the album until he finally lost his post and she released it with Steve Bartles who she was semi okay with. Mariah is very untrust worthy and doesn't like working with people she's not comfortable with or feels who are trying to control her. This could mean a big delay for the 20th anniversary of the Butterfly album, new project. PS. Barry Weiss was instrumental with some of the biggest and most successful albums at his previous label and still Mariah wanted no part of his input, she even went as far as executive producing the album all by herself. If he was there she could pretty much do or not do what she wanted, like releasing I Don't with no notice or not really focusing on putting out a quality album. Maybe the newbies at the label will kick Mariah in gear. Mariah is a legend, but Epic is a business and businesses like to make money. They only care about what you've done for them lately. Re: Sylvia Rhone (75,164) (75,169) by Edward from USA Since LA Reid was kind of too complacent with Mariah, I hope this new person light a fire on Mariah's ass so she could start being serious about her career and produce some great music, even if it's out of anger. She could deal with the anger taking some classes for management after the great success of the album. She's signed to a business, and they don't want to make a few coins every three or fours years. Waiting a hundred years to put music out with so many new acts coming left and right doesn't make sense, especially when your star is fading, just like what happened with everybody else. Nobody stays on top for ever. If Mariah were selling like in the 90's, a few years hiatus would be OK, but at this point in her career, she should be in the public eye, but not for perfumes and reality shoes, but for her music.
