Re: I Don't no-mix (73,910) (73,922) by B from USA
I haven't listened to the I Don't remix but I'm assuming she used the same formula she's been using since the Memoirs era of copy and paste. Which is ruining her legacy as the queen of the remix. The last decent remix she released was #Beautiful with Jezzy. I want classic Mariah remixes not copy and paste remixes.

I Know What You Want (73,921) by Butterfly from
This Busta talk got me watching the IKWYW music video. What a great video. And this is what I call a collaboration. Busta and Mariah did a great job and Flipmode Squad added so much to the song.

James (73,920) by Butterfly from
She's still wearing his ring and necklace. That Bryan thing is also part of whatever she's trying to accomplish. And why is she still staying in LA? I hope she's not crazy enough to think James is going to pay her 50 million and new house in LA. Something is very fishy about this whole situation.

Mariah's twitter mentions are in a shambles. The general response is this remix is trash. I didn't bother to listen. Oh well, at least Stellar is also getting the brunt of it. Oh and Areola Grandes is hilarious, too funny.

Re: Mariah and Remy (73,909) (73,917) by Lila from United States
That last part is what gets me. Not just that she'd be involved in encouraging Mariah to do something so stupid, but the larger picture of Stella's stupidity. There's no guarantee, at all, that she and Mariah will be together forever. A few years from now (hopefully a hell of a lot sooner than that), she could be Mariah's next I Don't Know Her. Yet, she continually does stupid shit that burns bridges not just for Mariah but for herself too. She seriously doesn't think about the fact that people are looking at her also and remembering her as the loud mouthed idiot, constantly making/encouraging poor actions and decisions. That includes those she could potentially want to do business with. Then again, I've always been one who has not hesitated to point out the fact that none of Mariah's circus are bright.

Re: Mariah and Remy (73,909) (73,916) by Licia from USA
The parts about Mariah and Taylor weren't about them not sticking up for themselves against Remy. Remy was using Mariah and Taylor as examples of the type of people Nicki tends to pick on because they aren't from the streets and Nicki thinks they are weak. She's basically saying Nicki wouldn't go up against a real street person or thug like Remy.

What Mariah should have learned from Whitney (73,915) by Randy from USA
This just dawned on me. Mariah should've learned from Whitney Houston to keep vocals understated on wax so you have somewhere to go live. Whitney sounds good on wax but burns a stage up. Mariah sounds superhuman on wax but is a step below mediocre live, especially on television. I really feel she needs to stop piecing together her vocals and do a little bit on the album, let her superior songwriting skills shine and then hit the stage and burn it down.

Re: New pics (73,911) (73,914) by Edouard from France
I think this woman is phenomenal. Just a thought: I always thought that Mariah not wearing a bra was sort of like an act of feminism on her part. She started doing that a lot during 1997/1998/1999 and throughout the Rainbow era and ever since. I think it's an act of liberation/emancipation, probably because they made her shut down her femininity for so long. I think it's bold and brave and you can tell she's just more relaxed, confortable when she wears something open. I like to wear my shirts quite open (no chess hair), because I feel more confortable that way.

Article: Mariah Carey helps Remy Ma get revenge on Nicki Minaj (73,912) by Adam from US
I am a huge MC fan, and also really enjoy Remy Ma. I've liked Remy Ma since her first album. But this did nothing for me. They should have changed it up some, changed the music, the YG rap - something. They had yet another chance to do something really great and they didn't. They could have shot a video, too. Would have been really cool. But this fell flat for me.

New pics (73,911) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Mariah was out at Catch LA looking absolutely flawless. Her face, her frame, her makeup and hair has not flaws, just look at this woman. I loved the dress too but the only problem is her Areola Grandes are on full display but she might not have known that and it could have been as a result of the bright flashes. Anyways she looks beautiful.

Re: I Don't no-mix (73,900) (73,910) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
It's funny that the same fans who argue that "Mariah doesn't really care about the charts, she just releases songs as a favor for her fans" whenever a song flops are also ones that come up with excuses like "oh she didn't bother reworking the song because it would be counted as a separate song". If she doesn't care about charts then why would it stop her from creating a great remix which sounds different? At what point do the excuses stop? This message may look harsh but I only write this because I know Mariah is beyond crappy excuses and she is capable of making the best remixes. Her back catalogue speaks for itself. Some of her remixes her even better than the original versions. I'm not here for reality star Mariah Carey. I am a fan first and foremost of songstress and songwriter/producer Carey, can we get that title back when she's named in articles because now all we get is "reality star Mariah Carey spotted hanging out with blah blah".

Re: Mariah and Remy (73,897) (73,909) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Exactly, to think Mariah just happened to drop a random collab with Remy without any intention of "making headlines" is too naive. The whole promo video she posted on her Instagram for this collaboration is also juvenile and embarrassing. What does Remy add to this track really? I'd say TI's rap on WYM makes more sense than Remy's here, and that says a lot because I thought TI was the most unnecessary addition to WYM (no hate towards TI but that song already had too many features). Also let's not forget that the MC reference in "Shether" is nothing to be proud about because it basically translates to M not being the type who can stand up to Remy, "cause Mariah don't Carey" basically a play on not carrying a gun. Same with how she said Taylor Swift isn't swift enough to stand up for herself. That's not to say that Remy doesn't respect Mariah, I'm sure she does but this song wasn't exactly something for Mariah to be proud about being associated with. Then to allow Remy to use Mariah's voice on a diss track that doesn't involve her, what is Mariah thinking? Also Mariah should keep an eye out on Stella. Stella has worked with Minaj before (and not as a manager, Nicki isn't that naive) as part of her not so acclaimed reality show, and now she urges Mariah to diss Nicki and engage in silly feuds to look desperate, when Stella is fired, she'll not really sing praises about Mariah either.

Since they decided to be Petty Betty's and get involved, they could have at least brought a better song to the fight.

I can't even believe the Diva's Live thing gets talked about as much as it still does. Celine is an acting advisor on The Voice right now, whether you like her music or not, if you watch her interactions with people on there, you can see what a lovely, humble and genuine human being she is. That's not something you can fake.

The Beautiful Ones (73,906) by harudo from singapore
Been listening to MC's version and Prince' simultaneously the whole day and no matter how I forced my self to like the original I still think that Mariah's version surpasses the whole thing in terms of arrangements and vocal vibe. Not everyone can give a proper justice the way her team did in that song. Dunno if anyone feel the same as me about this masterpiece.

The best revenge... (73,905) by Norman from USA
Is success. This was not it. And it's not a dig at Remy or the original song, because I like them both individually. The problems here are:
1. This is not a remix. I don't even know what to call it, but it's definitely not that.
2. This collabo offers nothing new or needed to the track.
3. The promo for this was totally predicated on the GP's knowledge of the feud between the three women, and then doesn't deliver, in the least, on that premise.
4. By not delivering, it brings the heat down on Mariah because it's her song, and because this will be compared to Shether. It's inevitable. And it won't be pretty.
This was a badly conceived and poorly executed stunt (even if I did enjoy the promo). At the end of the day, the revamping of this song won't attract any new fans for Mariah. And it won't do anything to silence those who are concerned about the lack of vision or direction in Mariah's camp. Instead, it actually bolsters the ridicule of the recent missteps, and gives the skeptics something else to hold on to. It seems like an exercise in futility. If Mariah's camp wanted to capitalize on Remy's new found fame, it would've better to collaborate on a whole new song, or completely rework this song. The song was already dead in the water, they didn't have to worry about keeping it afloat. So making a really good remix shouldn't have been a problem. Staying above the fray might've been an even better option.

Re: Mariah and Remy Ma Remix, and that Busta collab (73,893) (73,904) by Malcolm from Asia
And then what? What this "remix" supposed to mean? Are they aiming to be shady or what? I don't buy that Mariah just love Remy that's why this happened, no this is to add fuel to that Remy vs. Nicki and even that Mariah vs. Nicki, and they totally failed already. They can't even change the single cover for it and literally just paste Remy's verse. This is beyond disappointing and unnecessary. Fans on social media are mad about this also, hope they can see what they just did, awful.

I Don't "Remix" (73,903) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
I know it's been pretty much official for years now but I guess this is yet another confirmation that the 90s and early 00s queen of remixes has forgotten what "remix" actually means. It's called "re-mix" for a reason. It's not called "take-the-original-chop-off-a-verse-or-two-replace-it-with-a-rap-verse-by-(insert rapper here)-and-then-call-it-a-remix". When fans make better remixes than the producers original creations, that's a huge problem.

Mariah Carey is a great singer during her concerts but lacks confidence during live tv performances, let alone live singing with other singers, she comes from a place of hurt and insecurities.

I Don't no-mix (73,900) by CMC from NY,NY
I'm aware of the new rules regarding Billboard and remixes being changed too much and not charting as same song. Which is all very weird because they're no longer remixes and should just be promoted more as a new "feature" on the track. Mariah being the musical genius that she is I would think that this bothers her, considering her past masterful remixes. That being said, "I don't" was far from a Billboard hit, believe it didn't even break through to 80? A remix with Remy tacked on won't do anything. Therefore it seems bizarre she wouldn't do a proper actually remixed song because she's so concerned about the month old non charting original version to chart higher. She could have taken this as a creative opportunity at this stage in her career to go back to the true remix and forget the new "charting rules". Get attention for turning tables on the rules and create a great women power anthem remix. The theme of "I don't" had obvious potential for that. Remy Ma is hot right now and perfect for that type of anthem, a la Hearthbreaker Remix (ft. Missy plus Da Brat). Mariah, Remy, and Niki fans would all tune in to hear if there is that shade towards Niki. It could have been its own hit. Separate from the original, most likely more successful. It seems like an obvious win win idea. Yet what what we got, and they're calling a "remix" seems completely uninspired, lazy, thoughtless, and like Mariah doesnt even have that creative drive at all left. Very disappointing as a day one fan who's lived through the excitement of those true remixes. Unfortunately I'm really starting to not care, probably similar to Mariah.

Did you happen to see Remy Ma on Empire last night? Interesting. I think Empire and Taraji are definitely team Remy. Her rap was wack, and she can barely dance, but it was a cool surprise moment. Now if Mariah and Remy had made a surprise move that would have been something. Lol. Mimi needs too much drama and fanfare for a surprise appearance though.
