Something changed in her for the worse, that free spirit she had almost childlike is not there anymore and it's traceable to Mottolla. However, Butterfly is also I guess a direct result of that time and also her strongest body of work. (Pain brings out the best in artists. Mary J. Blige anyone? Lol.) It was on Butterfly I got to know the real Mariah, and that was when I connected to her on a more personal level. I'm glad she shook Tommy off. (Wednesday 1 February 2017; 19:39)

Promotion for the single (71,922) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I hope they have a string of promotional appearances lined up right after the single releases and this should include live performances on the shows. They are doing a good job with releasing little teasers everyday, until the release, maybe next they can release a small sneak peak of the video like they did during the #Beautiful promotions. Then once the song drops, Mariah should go on some important shows and perform it live. Also they should try to get her on some of the award shows. (Wednesday 1 February 2017; 18:01)

It was innovative having Stella as a back-ground singer. If you listen closely with headphones on, you could clearly hear Stella's voice, it's a very subtle but distinctive pig-like vocal layered sound. Like a pig that's about to be slaughtered, but by stretching the oink, it sounds like an Alpha woman really in pain after having been dumped. Pure genius. (Wednesday 1 February 2017; 17:43)

Doesn't mean every lyric in "I Don't" is actually truthfully about James and their relationship, what matters is that it looks like it is. Don't know about anyone else, but manipulation tactics do nothing to create investment and sure she has done it before... this one just feels different. She denied that Infinity was about Nick when she was called on it though, even though that was obvious. Now when it is more appropriate that she writes more universal songs, she tacks it onto the latest subject in her fabricated world. It just seems lately she is caught up in the press and what gets her clicks on TMZ etc., that she is so far removed from reality. She needs to collect herself and stop being so fake, but trying to present it as reality. Pick one or the other perhaps, but don't expect everyone to blindly accept both. (71,909) (71,917) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Haha this, whether James is nice or not, he has quietly moved on and all the allegations they threw at him (him getting hostile with Mariah's assistant, James being unstable, James not being there enough) the only thing we got from James' side was a polite decline to comment or just a "it's not true". Whereas from Mariah's side, Stella can't seem to stop with the drama. They can't seem to let go of it and suddenly everything is centered around this break up. Even her break up from her partner and husband of so many years (Cannon) didn't get 1/4th the publicity that this one is getting. Like Ribbon said, first there was the "I fired Cindi", "I let go of my old staff", now "I dumped James" and all these. Then we hear she cancelled the South American tour because of problems with the promoters, but just days later they leak stories that Mariah was heart broken from James calling off their engagement so she wasn't emotionally ready. Then with the NYE-Anthony drama. Facts are not adding up, they are serving different versions of the same story and it's doing no favor to Mariah's image. The classier move would have been to just move on. Now we get the "this song is about Packer" promotion whereas even when M broke up from Nick and songs like "Camouflage" and "Faded" surfaced, she always maintained that these songs have open meanings and are not necessarily about a certain person. I think she went as far as to say that she wrote sad songs even when she was with Nick, but they were happy and all so it's just an artistic outlet. But now this song is being promoted as a diss/break up song especially for Packer. It's really getting immature and petty. There is no need for the drama. (Wednesday 1 February 2017; 16:54)

Then Mariah's old staff quits, then they craft a "no, Mariah fired them" flurry of publicity, then James dumps Mariah and they re-shape a whole TV show to suit their narrative. Mariah stumbles on NYE then they claim to fire her creative director, which is also not true. The era of alternative facts indeed. Many people are hoping Mr. "alternative facts creator" Trump will be impeached soon, I am just hoping Mariah gets real, real soon. (Wednesday 1 February 2017; 15:46)

I never liked James and think he was in on the deal from day one, but at least he is just being quiet and has moved on so far. Mariah could learn how to move on with class instead of manufacturing more drama for sympathy/press. And there is still Stella in the midst of all the madness. Like The Weeknd, Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé, Zayn Malik (who has recently called Mariah one of his musical inspirations) and other current artists. So far we know she has collaborated with Travis Scott and DJ Khaled on a track but that is likely to be on Khaled's album. I didn't hear Khaled's new material but I heard it's good so that's nice. As much as I love JD and MC together, I think her new singles should be with new collaborators, just to stir things up. I also think she shouldn't bother trying to recreate WBT because anything else will never match up to the strength of that song so instead she should just give that up and work on creating a new sound. She had a break through song mid 90s with "Fantasy", then in mid 2000s she comes out with WBT, in the mid 2010s she should get another fresh sound and if anyone can reinvent it's definitely Mariah. But for that she needs to be inspired and I feel like with her taking up so many gigs she isn't getting much time to write songs. Which is sad because I'm always hungry for new MC music. Anyways I really hope she indeed means it when she says that she is working on "long awaited" collaborations and some people her fans have been wanting her to work with. The snapshots of the video seem like we will have Mariah doing her usual, perhaps even keep it on an sexy up tone just like in Loverboy. I read today an old article from August of last year and it said how Mariah was working on an album but in a different way. She mentioned that nobody goes to the studio and works on songs from top to bottom anymore, she now writes, records, collaborates and then chooses the best of the best. I imagine she has been writing a lot of random songs here and there, hence why we have been hearing that Mariah suddenly was seeing in a studio and then she was out and weeks passed by and she was seeing again talking new music very quickly like she did in E. where she simply mentioned she was working on a song while passing by. In this article she commented as well that she was not going to talk about any album, any music, nothing, because she didn't want her concept to be stolen again. It was remarked that two months previous that article Mariah had her ideas stolen and she was fed up and was not going to say a peep. So that must be the reason why she has music so readily now and is prepared. Also in other articles I read she is indeed trying to recreate a new WBT concept. In my opinion she should just not go that road, while I really liked the album cover except the faces of them both (it looks like they are high) and the whole wedding off idea, it's been done. I would like her to just move on. But then again, this next album is supposed to be filled with heart breaking ballads and other songs about the deceptions of love. I'm truly waiting for the release of the song, what it's making me want to have it now is the idea of a new video. Hopefully they put an effort into it. There's always two sides of the story. Mariah told us hers. Sometimes I wonder if it wasn't just largely exaggerated because Thalia settled with Mottola, and those who know Thalia very well (latinos mostly, don't believe she is that famous in the US except for a couple of soap operas) she has always been super sexy, showing a lot of a skin, having a very sultry and perky personality, not minding to be honest in public but always respectful. So then, how is that Thalia didn't lose any of the things that Mariah wanted to be with Mottola? Thalia was still exactly as she was after she married him, she didn't cover more, she didn't pose sexy any less. So he either learnt from the past and let Thalia be whoever she was or maybe, just a tiny maybe, Mariah just made it larger than the Earth. The only reason Thalia decided to tone down the skin was when she became a mother. I would still be pedaling on the story Mariah told us 100%, but after seeing the drama with Packer one can have certain doubts. If you visit her Facebook people are saying exactly those things, now they are doubting the story she has told us many times included in her songs. They said Mariah used to have Luis Miguel followed and stuff like that, we shouldn't believe it of her but we should totally believe it of Mottola. Or maybe she learnt from him, I don't know. I feel that the truth won't ever come out until both of them are dead, and for that is missing an impressive amount of time. And then many things will be regarded as "myth". I was always against Mottola, after Thalia I gave it a thought but was still in Mariah's camp, now at days I have my doubts regarding some stuff. (Wednesday 1 February 2017; 12:26)

I'll try to be positive and hope that the video is better than the last few we got and has a story line or at least makes sense. The third visual though, what in BDSM mess is that? Haha, but this is the most outfit changes we've seen her have in a video since TEOM days, so maybe that's a good sign that there will be several different scenes instead of just one painfully drawn out scene like YME (her sitting on that darn chair in the gorgeous rain forest covering her boobs and looking uncomfortable) and #Beautiful (the explicit version where they just keep showing the scenes of her in the yellow dress and not the inter cut bike scenes).The song, the more I listen to the snippet, the more I'm warming up to it, so I'm excited to hear the full final version because even the snippet we heard may not have been the final cut.
