It may not have done well in the US, but it is still a beautiful effort on all counts. I don't see Mariah changing her image anytime soon, but that isn't up to anyone but her. Just because people are frustrated with her choices doesn't mean she deserves such blanket generalizations made constantly like "her songwriting is crap" lol. She seems to be reading some of the messages or posts lately though and responding after Stella has done the damage. She is not reading the times well though and she and stella are presently tone deaf. She needs to close the circus and regroup. JD is also part of the problem because he also believes in the stunt school of marketing. JD orchestrated Usher's "Confessions" based on his own messy life at the time, because he thought Usher needed more public interest in his personal life and that he needed the drama. Usher got the sales then, but that was also a different time. Mariah needs to treat her next project with passion but also a purpose like a job, but not a lifestyle, living with a circus of sycophants. Since her present "friends" are acting like her paid enemies, perhaps she should work with paid professionals with a purpose. Mariah is sick, desperate and keeping very bad company however if she changed her lifestyle and environment there's no way of knowing how quickly she might or might not bounce back. Anything is possible and the potential of the human body and spirit are beyond our comprehension. Mariah's musicianship when she was at her best was unfathomable some might say superhuman so I wouldn't count her completely out. I'd also say Andrew that your mean-spiritedness and condescending tone must bespeak some serious character defect or worse. Get help and stop bullying people it's really unbecoming. Forget about being looked as desirable, or sexy, etc. She needs to know that she doesn't need those things. Her voice and her talent is enough to carry her on. Her raw, warm, slightly dry voice would lend itself so nicely to warm acoustic guitar ballads. I think she should write and sing songs with Jazmine Sullivan. I recall all the name calling and horrible articles, the whole "Mariah wanted to commit suicide and there was blood everywhere", talk about exaggerating a situation, the stories that ran that time, with things about her mother finding her on the floor, Luis Miguel cheating on her with another and suddenly Mariah appearing there, Mariah going crazy to no comeback, Mariah in a mental institution, etc. It was bad, really bad, and the mockery of her movie, which I don't even think it was that terrible, it was just too simple and not worthy to watch on repeat. I remember The Bodyguard with Whitney Houston, it was so entertaining I thought Mariah was going to pull something like that, the music was fabulous. I think the music from Glitter was phenomenal. Maybe Glitter the movie should have been a musical. I do agree though that her brand needs some re-working, she is falling into what everyone else is doing, I don't dislike her touchy-touchy or leotards but it's looking unoriginal. The video was a huge let down for me, when I saw her running with the wedding dress my first thought was "yes, a follow up from WTB" but no, it was repetitive and way too simple. Then it seemed that Mariah and Stella directed the whole thing, really two brains couldn't come up with a small script? It didn't have to be big budget but more than just two cars and like four changes of dress would have been nice, like a change in scenario but whatever, we got what we got. But the video got the views and I don't think Mariah will change the page now, I think she will probably keep on this route. I have never been fixated with her image anyway, I always thought she was somewhat boring in all in her videos, like ABM I always found it boring, but I loved the music, MIAM had some great tunes worthy of videos that were promised and never delivered. I Don't wasn't a bad song but the video was so lackluster. I do hope the music goes up in level though, ok Mariah, you had your fun, serious business now. (Saturday 11 February 2017; 16:28)

A stripped down album, just her and a piano/guitar. All acoustic, maybe even have each song recorded in one take with no showy vocal acrobatics she can't replicate live. It's good that she got word of people being pissed about her supposedly burning her $250k Valentino wedding dress. She finally said that it's not her real wedding dress and that she got it from a bridal store but it's not an expensive one. Then she said she is making a promise that she'll buy someone the wedding dress she wore for their wedding. She as usual dodges questions about Bryan. She mentions some cute stuff about the twins especially Roc. Mariah was sweet throughout the interview and she sounded humble especially in the end where she was thanking anyone who heard any of her songs. But what the hell is wrong with the interviewer at the end? He says "Say hi to the twins from me, and I'm not talking about the kids." So inappropriate. (Saturday 11 February 2017; 14:44)

Like she did in Glitter, or like Janet has done. I agree that MW was fine until it became about Tanaka. New Year's was a complete disaster and why is she touring with an artist twice her age? But when I hear Languishing, there's no denying she's the greatest singer/songwriter of all time. Everything has a shelf life. I don't think this sexy Jessica Rabbit image can hold up too much longer before she's laughed out of LA or NY or wherever she's living these days. I really want to see her tone the sexy down and sing a stripped down album with vocals she can replicate live. I think she will do that soon. This is the first song from her that I won't buy, other than Infamous. I watched the video once and it was enough for me. I've spent thousands of dollars collecting her CDs and have about 10 copies of every album and single. She's been promoting on social media, which excludes a lot of people (who don't use social media.) She's doing radio call ins but not 1 tv show performance. Why bother? It wasn't until the over-sexualized photos (taken by Mishka) on her Instagram that I saw fans expressing concern. Mariah Carey or not - it's human nature to wonder what's going on with a person when they suddenly start wearing lingerie out in public for no reason - especially when that person is a mother with two young children. You can shout from the rooftops on how we're such bad fans for saying things out of love and frustration, but I can guarantee Mariah would rather read comments of concern expressed by her fans who have supported her for years - over what is being said by the general public. The general public's comments are much, much worse. I don't think there's anything wrong with fans holding Mariah to a higher standard, because she set it for herself. She has been doing the complete opposite of what she has stated in interviews in the past and it's worrisome. I know no one is perfect, but you can't create drama for yourself, put it on public display and not expect people to talk - good or bad. However the SSFT South America and Hawaii happened under Stella's management and look at what happened to that. I don't understand how Mariah doesn't see that Stella just isn't right for this. She has no background in this. Stella can be chalked up as selfish but what on earth happened to Mariah's judgement?
